.... VR video game au where the Bishops are.... "NPC" (spoiler alert they and other notable/important NPCs are, in fact, not NPCs) bosses for different levels of a VR RPG and the Lamb, among others (including the yellow cat bc I need my leshycat), are players of the game, and the Lamb's cult is the guild they've made. Narinder is the final boss of the main storyline that no one has ever made it to before, Aym and Baal remaining undefeated thus far, and the Bishops just hang out while waiting for people to enter their dungeons.
Narinder is incredibly bored waiting for someone to finally reach him so he can join his siblings in discussing the tactics players use, so when his siblings become busy with their "dungeons" he decides to sneak out into the villages. It's not like anyone knows what he looks like after all. And then he runs into the Lamb and their best friend (Yellow cat ofc) fresh out of character creation (they're both incredibly unoriginal and just created fantasy versions of themselves, yes they're all still anthropomorphic animals) and long story short this is how Narinder joins the Lamb's party despite being the last boss of the game.
His siblings think it's hilarious and play along when he shows up in their dungeons, really shakes things up. (All they ask is that Narinder doesn't make any killing blows since the players need to be the ones getting the victory). The Lamb and Yellow have no fucking idea they're traveling with the final boss of the game (he does wear a cloak, stays in a smaller form and keeps his third eye closed, so they won't recognize him even from official artwork for the game lol rip).
Ratau is the tutorial "NPC" who is very aware who Narinder is but wants to see how this will play out. It's never happened before after all.
Anyway. Just me thinking thoughts.
#cult of the lamb#cotl au#this makes it sound all lighthearted but there is an evil underbelly of this#that being the 'NPCs'#who are real people but dont know theyre real.......#:)#i would like to clarify this is not based on sao dying in the game does not mean dying irl#i wonder what character classes Lamb and Yellow would choose... hm#dont mind me
