We really know nothing at all about Kaori besides the fact that she was Jin's wife and taken over by Kenjaku, but I like imagining that maybe she got along with Wasuke and had a personality similar to Yuji's.

Before she met him, Jin would probably warn her that his dad wasn't the friendliest guy, but she was completely unbothered and tried to befriend him right off the bat; Something he probably made hard for her in the beginning just because he's like that. But gradually he warms up to her. He wouldn't ever admit it outright, but he was glad that of all the people out there, Jin chose Kaori and Kaori chose Jin. His son was a little odd and Wasuke was secretly worried what kind of life he'd lead, so he was glad when Jin managed to find someone who seemed like a good person, and he hoped that she'd watch over him even after he was gone.

And then things changed, and Kaori was nothing like she used to be. It was disturbing how calm Jin was about it, when it was so obvious that whatever was bearing him a child wasn't the person either of them knew. Whoever it was, they were too cold to be Kaori, too calculating to be Kaori, their eyes were too empty to be Kaori. But there was nothing Wasuke could do about it, because his son was too stubborn to listen to him and all trying to reason with him did was push him away.

Eventually, Wasuke lost them both, his son and his daughter in law. In their stead he was left with his grandson, who looked like his father and acted like his mother.

All he could do was raise his son's child as best he could and pray he ended up like neither of them.
