I have been booped more! :0 I HAVE BEEN SUPER BOOPED-
WAIT THE BOOPING HAS DISTRACTED ME, BUT YEAH, SAMS WAS WILD-
This definitely tells us a bunch about the characters!
If I wasn't sold on Ruin before… BOY I SURE AM NOW! He lost everything. Saw, as his friends slowly lost their minds, unable to do anything. And he was left unharmed, left with whatever sanity could remain after witnessing this tragedy. Everything he's done, everyone he killed…it was all for vengeance. For justice. Because killing his own wouldn't be enough. It would never be, after all the years of suffering. And of course he won't regret it, how could he? He killed those responsible for driving his friends mad, for making them destroy each other. HE IS SUCH AN AMAZING CHARACTER, I CANNOT-
And apparently Solars don't exist much at all, even less than surviving Eclipses??👀
Speaking of Eclipse, he is partially Solar now! This does actually make a lot of sense. Eclipse has been shown unwilling to change. Perhaps he has been too stubborn, or he has felt too hurt. However, with a part of Solar inside of him, there might be a chance! Because he'll listen. He listened to Earth, he listened to Lunar. He has been listening and mulling it over in his head!
This is so interesting, I can't wait to see where this goes-
-Stardust
I KNOW RIGHTTT everytime there's more Ruin lore revealed I genuinely fall in love with him more, he's SUCH a fun character. He had the same vibe as Eclipse in that "character that has a past that explains but not excuses their actions and serves to make them more tragic," yk???
AND THE SOLAR DETAILS YEAH OMGGG that was so exciting!!! Solar was exactly like Eclipse, he just didn't fester!! That's so interesting!!!
AND ECLIPSE. STARS, YEAH, ECLIPSE. Like you said, we've seen him willing to listen more!! My friend Kat mentioned too that there's been a lotta emphasis on how Eclipse isn't wholly Eclipse anymore and that can mean that typical Eclipse-y traits may not be as hardwired which can lead to a potential redemption!!
He even defended Earth when Ruin said she needed to learn to be more cruel!! Eclipse said to leave her out of the conversation!! He didn't agree, he didn't insult her, he didn't even give a noncommittal grunt, he said to leave her alone!! Eclipse has been having small changes like that fer a minute now and the idea of it being because he has Solar's base now is soso terribly fun 2 me <3

Oh, Oh! Kurama and a female bat demon s/o enjoying the fireworks on the lake as the new year rings in!!(bonus points if they ring it in with a big kiss or an engagement ring~)
Aaaahahaha this was DEFINITELY sent in exactly a year ago for last year’s New Year…better late than never maybe? So sorry we’re getting to this now! Hopefully it’s worth the wait!
______________________________
Thesky was an awe-inducing mix of purple, blood red, gold. There were nostars, but the moons were visible from nearly every direction. Onewas so close on the horizon that you could have dipped your finger ina crater and pulled out stardust – almost like touching cream. Thesecond was far higher in the sky and less visible, but no lessbeautiful. A halo of light surrounded it, almost like a solareclipse. The last moon was nearly on the opposite side of them, andsat somewhere between the other two in distance from the ground. Itwas translucent, the colors of the Demon World sky shining through, only obscured by the opaque core at the center. The lake belowreflected all of the moons at once, a shifting mirror to their
Theyhad traveled away from Human World for several reasons. Number one, abat demon would bring too much attention to herself with so manyhumans roaming about on New Years Eve. Second, as beautiful as thehuman world was, there was no denying the beauty of Demon World(maybe not to the average human, though). They brought their ownfireworks since they weren’t common at all in Demon World…hopefullyno one would take it as an attack warning.
“Areyou sure you’re alright not being in the Human World? I know that’syour home and there’s really no equivalent holiday here…” The batdemon was apprehensive of Kurama readily agreeing to leave. Andhonestly she wanted to see the “sky sparkles” since she had neverseen them in Demon World, personally.
“Ofcourse. Unfortunately with so many people out at this time, I believeit would be unwise to sit openly in a park. Plus, sometimes I misscertain memories of Demon World, the variant sky being one of them.Earth only has one moon.” She and Kurama were sitting on a smallcliff above a lake. They brought a small basket with fireworks andchampagne. The idea of a New Year, a new beginning, was a brilliantidea to her. Demon World was a constant, there was no time marker tobring in change, the idea of regular calendar years – at least inthe way Humans count years – wasn’t widely accepted. It had farmore to do with changing seasons, hibernation cycles, etc.
“Howmuch time is left? Oh I’m so excited, you say they’re like colorfulexplosions in the sky? Do they make sound?” Kurama giggled at herenthusiasm to what humans might consider mundane.
“About five minutes. Yes, they make a sort of popping sound, like very loud popcorn almost. They range in color and size and shape. The ones we have are smaller since the larger ones cannot be bought commercially for safety reasons, but they’re still beautiful.”
She almost looked disappointed when he said theirs weren’t the best ones, but it was spending this moment with Kurama that mattered the most.
Kurama stood up to start setting them up on the ground, making sure they were secure and didn’t accidentally shoot off in the wrong direction or fall into the lake below.
“Are you ready? Here.” Kurama handed his lover a long lighter. “You can light the fuses. There’s about thirty seconds left until midnight.”
She took the lighter and bent down to light the different fireworks stuck into the ground. Kurama was silently plotting something behind her, but she was too fixated on the lit fuses to notice. As she lit the last one, the first one flew off into the sky. She stepped back, folding her bat wings behind her.
There was an explosion in the sky - nothing large, but enough to make her eyes glisten with stars. She was awestruck, more beautiful than she expected. Most of them were in the sky at this point, lighting up the reflection of the lake below them. Kurama whispered in her ear-
“Close your eyes.”
“Close...? But, I want to see-”
“Just trust me.”
Reluctantly she closed her eyes, shutting out the explosions in the sky. Suddenly she was jerked backwards as he grabbed her elbow. It took only a few seconds, but the smell of their surroundings immediately changed. And the sound...what was all that sound?
“Open your eyes.”
She opened them, and the sky was raining down rainbow stars. There had to be close to a hundred different shapes and colors in the sky at one time, it was like an over stimulation for the eyes.
“Are we in human world? But-”
“We’re alone up here, there’s nothing to worry about. Koenma owed me a favor.” They were on a secluded rooftop, some office building in the middle of the city with a perfect view of an unobstructed sky.
There was a POP and Kurama had opened the champagne they brought.
“Happy New Year, love.”
“Oh this is so wonderful...Happy New year!” They rang it in with champagne stained lips, a sweet end to a new beginning.
