my belief system basically amounts to 'i don't know if this is true and i never will, but i'd like it to be'. is god genderless? they are to me. do they love everyone regardless of who or what they are? they do to me. is there an afterlife where everyone who dies and wasn't an evil person in life can be happy? there is to me. if there's not to you then have fun living a less fun spiritual life ig

#personal crap #the other reason is i think assuming there's no god or afterlife is boring #even if there isn't isn't it beautiful that humans come up with so many complex explanations for why we're here?#i wish we didn't fight over them or use them to justify prejudice so much obviously but i like the way it shows our creativity as a species #and maybe one or some of them are right on some level #plus i've encountered too many religious people who use thinking they're right to bash people to rigidly stick to one #and too many atheistic people who think they're smarter than everyone else for being doomer-y about faith to like atheism #i have no idea how you'd describe my position but i like calling myself a lapsed catholic since i was raised one #plus it makes my identity sound more dramatic lol
