Disappointed to learn that the PC version of Alan Wake 2 has a weird audio bug that causes it to be excessively choppy and just refuse to play during cutscenes. The only work around I've seen for it is to restart my computer, and to reinstall the game on an SSD. Since I already had it installed on an SSD I'm doubting reinstalling it on a different one will work, but I'll try it never the less.

Edit: for some reason reinstalling it on the same SSD did the trick. I don't know if it was some hiccup on the Epic Games Store side or what, but reinstalling it has made the game work properly. I wish EGS had a feature like steam where it could verify your game installed correctly or had errors, but alas. Hope you don't have data caps if you have to reinstall like I did.
