is it just me or has the Inuyasha fandom been on a rapid death spiral since S2 of HNY ended?
it wouldnāt surprise me, to be honest. Given how toxic the fandom itself has gotten, and the troubled production of HNY giving us bad writing/animation I wouldnāt be surprised if the fandom just finally dies already.
it would probably be for the best if it just died for a decade or so. Thereās way better works than Inuyasha out there more deserving of fans that are criminally underrated.
Looking back at Inuyasha critically, I donāt think the series was half as great as the fandom made it out to be after all these years. itās a nice time capsule of a series, and I get pretty nostalgic when I hear Change the World, but itās also something that for me doesnāt have a whole lot of rewatch value as it once did.
Maybe Iām just getting old.
Letās be honest, if youāre not an InuKag fan, (and I mean it has to be your favourite ship, not one of many), donāt worship the ground Kagome walks on and arenāt still trying to defend Sesshomaru, thereās no place for anyone in the fandom lol.
The homophobia problem is still strong. Attaching an alphabet soup of queer headcanons to your fav characters and trying to make queerness āunproblematicā is a huge modern problem with queer youth and the Inuyasha fandom is no different. Ignoring canonly queer or queer coded characters bc itās āproblematicā is why we get these super oppressive, sanitised takes on pride parades. Yāall arenāt any better, itās still part of our history, Jakotsu being a gay stereotype and Naraku being a gender non conforming shape shifter are still canon and still part of our identity.
Racism is still present. I will see people saying that everyoneās interpretations are too white, too westernised, not correct enough, then will turn around and create ārealisticā versions of the characters that are so disgustingly stereotypical and caricaturised that a 1940ās anti-Japanese propaganda magazine would be proud. Bonus points for East Asian people expressing their discomfort in the replies and getting dog piled. We love to see it.
Sexism haunts this fandom like the ghosts in a Christmas Carol. I wonāt get too into this one, the poor treatment of women, the uncomfortable fan service, the double standards, the insensitive approach to male trauma and mental health, because it legitimately makes me too angry, but I will say that the way Kikyo is still treated by this fandom, all for the sin of being The Ex, is fucking DISGUSTING.
Now, all of this exists and has existed for a long time. Itās not even much of a secret. However, when the sequel was announced, most corners of the fandom, including people who were no longer in it, were at least curious and willing to unite again just to see what was happening and maybe get some new content to enjoy.
What we got was āpedophilia is great, bad writing is even better, overworked animators donāt matter and neither do any of you, give us that sweet sweet nostalgia money cuz these lolicons arenāt going to be quite enough to pay all our bills :)ā.
The rest is history. Just like the fandom of a once perfectly passable anime that was this close to dying a quiet but dignified death.
#anti sessrin#anti yashahime#rant#wow sorry lol#but thatās about the size of it#tw: racism#tw: homophobia#tw: sexism#tw: csa

Saw this post in the Inuyasha tag, unfortunately. And I just have to ask why ship sessrin? Itās such a boring bland couple. Thereās no spice, unless youāre into children. š¤·š»āāļø I like some dark messed up ships, but for the life of me I donāt see anything compelling or suggestive about sessrin in the manga nor anime.
Seriously, the only reason I can see it being somewhat popular is that people self insert into Rin to fuck Sesshomaru or they like lolicon. Thatās it, nothing really deep about it. š
Otherwise, as a character sheās a total wet blanket with personality of generic nice kid. To make things worse, has such a dull design. Definitely, see why people love her, because if I were to pick a character somewhat close to Sesshomaru but doesnāt have any recognizable characteristics it would be hopefully āadult Rinā. Sadly, Rinās nothing but a plot device both in the original story and in that awful sequel show.
Besides, that kinda homophobic that people donāt ship Kohaku with Sesshomaru, considering he has just as much relevance and impact with Sesshomaruļæ¼ as Rin does. Guess people donāt self insert into Kohaku or like shotacon. šš»āāļø
The closest romantic relationship Sesshomaru has in the original series ļæ¼is Kagura, who he wanted to save or honestly his freaking dad. Considering how obsessed he is with him. Lol š¤£ Otherwise, Sesshomaru is very much just an asexual individual whoās only real concerns are power and eventually learning to care about others platonicallyļæ¼.
Which is pretty much why yashahime as a show, sucks. Boring characters, terrible plot, and horrendous animation. Sessrin is so shallow as a ship that it needs to steal from Inukag. From their friends/family, tree of ages, and rehash plot points/ character development from the original. Hell in their own series they have no engaging scenes as a couple. Other than Rin saying āSesshomaru samaā for the millionth time. š¤® As well as, their Mary Sue twins that look like discount Kagura/Byakuya. Are so utterly lame and boring, just like their supposed mother Rin. However, I will admit itās funny that they die a lot on the show. š
Sorry got off topic, but anyways Sessrin will never be interesting nor canon. As Rumiko said herself, Inuyasha was done on chapter 588 and that Sesshomaru is Rinās hogosha. Also, voice actor of Sesshomaru, Ken Narita has said that he canāt imagine Sesshomaru in a relationship and that this show feels like an experiment. You can look up the interview. Lastly, even the author of yashahime manga Shiina has said this terrible sequel is a what is in the inuyasha verse, not canonļæ¼ļæ¼.
But, if you really believe people were blind and should not be disgusted by sessrin. You can rewatch episode 99 where Koga ponders about Rin and Sesshomaru to quote āI wonder why heād let a little kid tag around him like that. Now if it was a pretty girl like Kagome, Iād understand bringing her along, but a young kid like thatā¦ā And heās silenced mid sentence by his companions, as he pretty much suggests that Sesshomaru is only taking care of Rin, because he wants to bang her. Which is fucked up since sheās a kid.
Again, which shows that sessrin is only a ship for self inserters or pedos. Thatās it nothing more or nothing less just bland nastiness. š„±
I did not read this past "boring bland couple" bc
I love myself too much to waste time on idiots
I could feel my braincells dying as I scrolled down and all of your ad hominems began to merge together, not one of them transforming into an intelligent argument
Anyway, they're married and they fucked and had babies and Kagura is dead in the dirt and all of the other female (and male) Inuyasha characters pretty much hate Sesshomaru's guts. It feels really great being so right while you and your ilk writhe in the gutter in your wrongness. I do not envy you š¬
Imagine loving Inuyasha and the characters for all these years only to be told by the creators that everything you thought is wrong and actually hey, you don't know dick about dick š¤£ couldnāt be me
You know what I don't do ever? Ever ever ever? Send anonymous messages to people I don't like. I'm too busy using my talent to create things that I do like. Your existence seems wrought with misery. Sucks to suck I guess.
Here, this is for you, I think you need it. Good luck with coping, you seem to be having a hard time of it.

got any anime recommendations? something underrated or lesser known stuff maybe
Omg yes hold on okay
So
First up one of my favorite series: a certain scientific railgun and its counterparts a certain magical index and a certain scientific accelerator (though i havent watched that one yet)
This series was one of the first ones i watched way back in middle school on youtube and using a funimation free trial. It was my shit and im actually rewatching it now. If you liked My Hero Academia, i really suggest giving these a shot. The first couple episodes might not seem super hype but i promise you give it time. A certain magical index is in my opinion pretty funny and a certain scientific railgun is a bit more serious and dramatic but they blend very well together all the same
Listeners
Its a new anime you can watch on funimation. I started it when it launched and it seems like a really cool idea with loads of potential. I cant wait to see where it goes
corpse princess
I just started this anime not too long ago but i love it. My dad who has been watching anime since he was like twenty suggested it to me and it's fantastic. It starts off straight to the point. Im watching it in sub tho bc the dub voice acting sounds goofy to me and doesnt match with the vibes but whatever you vibe with i suggest. Super dope with pretty cool characters
Kengan Ashura
Not gonna lie it took me a while to get into it and it definitely isnt everyones bread and butter, but i say give it a chance. The animation is super unqiue and the storyline is pretty interesting with intriguing characters. Though be warned its really violent and graphic, so if you dont like seeing super fucked up shit during fights then i dont suggest it.
michiko and hatchin
i dont know if you would consider this underrated but i dont hear a lot about it. It follows a woman and this little girl on the search to find this hunk of a guy. It's kinda slow but its funny and reminds me of a slice of life but with more drama ig? Its really cute to see how they bond and it gives a pretty realistic portrayal of how a little girl and a random chick would act having to team up suddenly, or at least imo it does.
Ranma 1/2
When i a child my dad would put this on ans we would all watch it because we didnt want to watch inuyasha (we made fun of my mom for saying it like washer) anywayz it can be a little questionable at times but its a cute feel good classic to watch whenever you just want to laugh or have something in the background
TWEENY WITCHES
MY MF CHILDHOOD!! I used to have the dvds lol but i loved this anime as a kid. It's the first one i ever watched, but lets be real how much could i comprehend? If you can find where to watch this PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Its super cute and i remember laughing my ass off at it. It definitely deserves more attention.
Black butler
Again not super underrated and was pretty popular a couple years ago at fhe time of like free! And ouran but i dont hear a lot of people talking about it now. In fact, a lot of people i talk to have never seen it. If you havent i suggest it. Its a good starter anime for older kids and adults with more mature themes. Definitely breaks the stigma that anime is just cartoons and for children. I remember watching it in sixth grade and dude i loved that shit, but if you arent sure about the darker themes then id wait. Honestly, if it werent for the fact i was raised on horror movies, i probably wouldnt have watched it. ( which is funny bc i could watch this bht not hsotd until highschool )
I hope this helped. There a definitely tons more than i could suggest but i wanted to give these shot first. Lemme know if you want more. I love giving suggestions and i could talk about it all day. š¤š¤

IĀ saw one of the youtuber showing their top 10 anime of the the 2010ā²s for each year and thought it will be fun to do it! So here is my top anime of the 2010ā²s for each year...
2010
I honestly couldnāt find any anime that I can say that it was my favorite for this year. Iām not counting the one that started a year before, but if I do, it should be:
InuYasha: Kanketsu-henĀ
This was the last season of the anime Inuyasha, which was one of the first anime Iāve ever watched. This actually started near the end of 2009 and ended in 2010 so Idk if you can count this in, but I thought as a fan of this series, it was nice to see the ending that wraps up the story.
For anime that started in 2010, I would have to say itās either K-on!! or The World God Only Knows (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai)Ā .
For K-on!!, itĀ was the continuation of the series. I just really loved the character Yui.Ā She is still one of my favorite characters. I remember I wanted to join a club like theirs. This was when I really wanted to learn how to play the bass, so I also really liked Mio.
For The World God Only Knows, Iām not sure why, but Iāve watched quite a lot of harem anime around this time. I started this bc of the opening songĀ . The songs in this anime was the biggest part of the reason why I continued to watch this anime. There is another songĀ and I thought it really matched with the whole theme of this anime. Also, the story was really intriguing to me and when they started to go deeper into the story, thatās when it got really interesting. Unfortunately, I lost interest in the way.. but still I remember enjoying it very much.
2011
Unlike 2010, 2011 was the year where I watched a lot of anime. Itās just really hard to pick just one anime... so I picked few from that year..
Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist)
Itās another anime that I started fell into after I saw the op. I also really liked the story and the animation of this anime. I even started reading the manga and the original art style and the color the author use is so pretty. Also, the music in this anime really works well with the whole story (so I bought the whole soundtrack album). BUT I think the second season is much better since it actually follow the story and the art style is just next level...
No.6
I really loved the characters in this anime and especially the main character. I just really like seeing emotions in this anime. I think the voice actors did a really great job. Even the main character voice actors talked about how important this anime was for them (which made me even more happy). Once again, the soundtrack or the songs in this anime really stuck with me. I really love the songs sang by the main character.
Natsume Yuujinchou San
This is like the 3rd season of this anime but I just canāt not talk about this anime. It is definitely one of my favorite anime of all time. I just love everything about this anime. It makes you feel so many emotions. Obviously, I loved the soundtracks. I like most of the soundtrack, but there is one that the voice actor for the main character sings and itās just so pretty. There is like up to season 5? I think and I love every season.
Kimi to Boku (You and Me)
Another one of my all time favorite. I love the mood and the theme and the story of this anime. The art is really simple which I really like. Itās a slice of life which I really love. Also the soundtrack is great hahaha. I have all the volumes of the manga. Itās still going and I canāt wait for the next one!
2012
2012 was the year I started watching and rewatching a lot of the older anime. I didnāt really watch most of the newer ones. Near the end of 2012, there was two anime that I really enjoyed...
K
The art style and the animation was really pretty to watch. Tbh I watched this anime bc the main characters were similar to No.6 character (only their hair..), but I really liked the characters in this anime and also the music (always). I guess itās kind of an edgy story, which I liked to watch during that time... maybe I still do??
Kamisama Hajimemashita
I got into the yokai world from Natsume Yuujinchou, so I decided to watch this. I think this is one of my favorite romance anime. Itās just too cute. I really like the main female character and how much people around her cared for her and all that stuff. Just a story that makes me feel really warm inside?? hahaha
2013
This was the year when I got into youtubers so I wasnāt really watching many anime, but there was this one anime that everyone was freaking out about.. which people calledĀ āswimming animeā. I decided to have a go and it became one of the two sports anime that I actually finished or caught up with it.
Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club
Since I love Kimi to Boku so much, I was happy to see another slice of life (surrounding sport) that I can enjoy. I think the characters are the main reasons why I really enjoyed this anime. My favorite is Rei and he is one of my all time favorite character.
2014
I was still very much into youtube.. but still watched some anime. Some that I really enjoyed from this year was Terror in Resonance (Zankyou no Terror)Ā ,Ā Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kunĀ , and Gugure! Kokkuri-san. My favorite from this year is:
Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona)
I just really love this kind of fantasy and adventure story. I learned recently itās based on this Korean myth? or something and I remembered this one Kdrama that I really enjoyed. This kind of have a similar feel to it.
2015
This was the year when I really got into anime again. I watched quite a lot of it. Some of the honorable mentions areĀ Aoharu x KikanjuuĀ , Gangsta.Ā , One Punch ManĀ , and the anime that changed my life, Osomatsu-sanĀ . Although in reality, Osomatsu-sanĀ was my favorite of the year, some things happened and it is not my favorite anymore... This was the anime that really pushed me into the seiyuu fandom, so it is still really important to me. So my favorite from 2015 is:
Charlotte
I actually watched this in 2016, but it was aired in 2015 so haha but I watched this bc I knew my favorite seiyuu, Ono Daisuke, was in it. He talked about how he really enjoyed being the hidden and surprise character for this anime, so I decided to give it go. I really enjoyed it. It was a bit weird in the beginning, but I was able to get into it soon. I really love it when the hidden character is revealed. It is one of my favorite character voiced by Ono Daisuke.
2016
I got into the seiyuu world. I started to watch a lot of the anime that my favorite voice actors were in. I watched a lot of anime now that I am looking at it... There are also so many good ones I think. Some of the honorable mentions are:Ā Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo KedarugeĀ ,Ā Magi: Sinbad no Bouken, 91Days,Ā Saiki Kusuo no ĪØ Nan, andĀ Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari. There are just too many... I also coudlnāt really pick one favorite so there is three of them.Ā
Boku Dake ga Inai Machi (Erased)
This was one of the really popular anime. I decided to watch it since everyone was talking about it. The story was really interesting and also this one soundtrack is so good. I even watched the live action drama with my friend and it was pretty good? haha I mean the ending.. was a bit disappointing but I really enjoyed the ride.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable
I watched this series since my favorite voice actor was in it and also this series is one his favorite. I watched all the previous ones and they were quite interesting. This was the fourth one and I thought it was better than the previous ones. I still havenāt watched the 5th one... hopefully one day haha.. but for this one, although I hate the villain very much (for his personality and moral), but I thought it was one of the best villain Iāve ever seen. I was really excited to see the nest episode and it was overall really good.
Mob Psycho 100
I really enjoyed the One Punch Man so I decided to watch this new series by the same author. I personally like this story better than OPM. I just really enjoyed the whole theme of the story. Also the animation is just so great. I think the second season gets even better.
2017
I continued to watch quite a lot of anime, but I watched a lot of the long running shows like One Piece, Detective Conan, and Gintama... The newer ones that I watched wereĀ Kobayashi-san Chi no Maidragon, The Royal Tutor (Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine), andĀ The Idolm@ster SideM. They were really fun to watch but I wouldnāt really put it as favorite... so no favorites for 2017 ;-;
2018
I started watching like 8 new anime but I finished only like 3-4... I still continue to watch the long-runs. There were some that I really enjoyed tho (the ones that I actually finished). The honorable mentions are:Ā Hakata Tonkotsu RamensĀ (started just bc my favorite seiyuu is the main characterās voice but the story was really interesting so I continued to watch it to the end) andĀ Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro BiyoriĀ (started bc of the same reason and stayed bc it was really cute). Other then these two, my favorite from 2018 is:
Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku (Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii)
This is another one of my favorite romance anime. Itās also so funny! The famous opening that makes you want to follow their dance.. Also the voice actors are just perfect for their character hahaha. I started reading the manga too and the 8th volume is coming out soon!! Itās getting better and better..
FInally...
2019
I was pretty busy this year.. with school stuff, but I still manage to watch quite a lot of anime haha. They are quite fresh in my mind and I canāt really pick one, so I will just show all of them (there is like four).
Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
OBVIOUSLY I had to talk about this one... I think the beginning was a bit weird for me. The 3D animation was a bit weird (kind of looked like a game), but I got into the story and I really liked it. I canāt wait for the movie. I am caught up with the manga... I will say.. Idk where this is going?? I think the middle part so far is the best.
Fruits Basket (2019)
This is a remake of the previous anime adaption, so I worried but it was so good. I kind of miss the soundtrack from the previous one and the comedy and the mood from the previous one... but this was so good. I cried every episodes near the end of the season. I just canāt wait for the next season next year!! :D
Given
I did not expect to see an anime apatation of this manga. It was so good and the song they made for this anime was sooo goood!! Canāt wait to watch the movie. I hope they will have it in US... if they donāt Iām gonna have to watch the dvd or something hahaha.
Sarazanmai
One of the weirdest anime Iāve watched hahaha It was pretty dark but funny and also really heart-warming and cute. It was quite a emotional rollercoaster but I really enjoyed the ride.Ā
----------------------------------------
I am still watching more and more anime. I thought I was watching less than before, but idk after looking at the list above lol. My current favorite is Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun)Ā and I started this with the same reason with the above.. bc my favorite seiyuu is in it haha. Still, I am really enjoying it. There are some I did not mention that I really enjoyed watching over this decade which is mostly from before 2010ā²s. I canāt wait to see what 2020ā²s will offer! Thank you for reading this! Happy New Year :D

That Azumanga thing is so perfect! Is there any other good old animes you like?
does Yotsuba count as oldā¦.. honestly, azumanga daioh and yostuba are my all time favs, and ones i keep rereading and i never get tired of
i grew up reading that and Fruits Basket a lot (but i probably wouldnāt reread/rewatch fruits basket) no matter how much i loved it as a kid/teen/youth
OHOH but like my first anime ever was Inuyasha, and hoho, one day i WILL rewatch thatā¦ i still skim thru the manga every once in a while bc i like the art in the manga a lot better,,,,, and iād really like to do some fanart for it sometime hahaĀ
iām also a huge fan of the FLCL mangaā¦ the artā¦ is so beautiful ;o;Ā
i know these arenāt crazy old either, but!!! honestly!!! i used to watch tons of anime as a kid but i barely do now- and a lot of the stuff i watched as a kid, isnt that great now hahahahhaaaaaaaaa Ā
#steve talks#about anime!#im open to recommendations but i tell ya#im super critical when it comes to anime..... like fan service? no thanks

(I was tagged by @mirsanāĀ who I canāt believe is peer pressuring me *again* and @little-known-artist! )
RULES: Choose any three fandoms (in random order) and answer the questions. Then tag some friends.
I choose:
Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Game of Thrones
The first character you loved:
Inuyasha:Ā Absolutely, 100%, always Sango. My first episode was Trap of the Cursed Wall Hanging and fell in love immediately.
FMA: Riza Hawkeye. Mostly bc Angie told me I would and I trust her judgment on who my favs will be.Ā
GoT:Ā Hmmmmm, I think Jon Snow wins this, but Daenerys and Arya are honorable mentions.
The character you never expected to love so much:
Inuyasha:Ā Iām kind of copyingĀ on this one, but Miroku. I liked him and he was my second favorite only because he kind of piggy backed his way to that spot with Sango. But I did a rewatch a couple of years ago and realized how much I loved him and fandom discussions (and squad convos) just made me love him more.Ā
FMA:Ā Riza Hawkeye tbh. Like, I knew Iād like her, but I didnāt realize how much. She stole some of Sangoās thunder, which is saying something.Ā
GoT:Ā Cersei! I think i just really love to hate her, but damn if I wasnāt cheering for her at the end of Season 6.Ā
The character you relate to the most:
Inuyasha:Ā Miroku? Not his flirty aspect, but I do relate to how he is usually pretty quiet about how heās feeling and is usually pretty logical about his emotions. I do get jealous though so there is some Sango in there ;)
FMA: I feel like I only say Riza Hawkeye on the FMA ones. But she loves dogs, I love dogs, she works hard, I work hard (sometimes). She works with a lot of paperwork, HEY ME TOO. I canāt shoot a gun though.
GoT:Ā I wish I could say Daenerys but Iām not that bad ass. I feel like I relate to Sansa (who I think is actually pretty bad ass in her own way). She wants a good, secure/comfortable life, status quo, life. Sheās kind of quiet and sometimes let people push her around, but she grows and observes and learns to navigate her surroundings. :)
The character youād slap:
Inuyasha: Inuyasha for being the cookie cutter Shounen hero whoās loud and rude, even though heās good underneath it all. Kouga, because heās just...annoying and lest we not forget a baby murderer. (see @scribefigaroāļæ½ļæ½ļæ½s amazing Kouga take down.
FMA:Ā Ed - see Inuyasha,Ā Rose, bc she joins a cult. I donāt even care if it was because her boyfriend died.
GoT:Ā ROBB FUCKING Ā STARK FOR BEING SELFISH AND GETTING EVERYONE KILLED.Ā
A character you liked at first but not so much anymore:
Inuyasha: Believe it or not yāall, I used to not mind Shippou. I didnāt like, him, but I used to not find him so obnoxious.
FMA:Ā I feel like this is blasphemy in the FMA fandom, but Olivier. Hear me out that this is hard bc FMA has really good characters. I would say I just like her now and I donāt love her. I remember watching at first and falling in love because I love strong female characters, but I lost interest in her very fast, because while I do love my strong female characters I do like seeing a soft side too and I just feel like I never got that with Olivier.
GoT:Ā Petyr Baelish for sure. I actually liked him and I liked the unrequited love bit with Catelyn and how slimy and calculating he was, but the sliminess just got worse and no one fucks with Sansa and has my favor in the end.
A character you did not like at first, but theyāve grown on you (by a lot):
Inuyasha: I give credit to the fandom 100% with this one. Kagome. I really couldnāt stand her when I first started watching the series, but the fandom has made so many good analysisā and are so great at writing her in fics that my mind changed. I still give her a hard time here and there ;)
FMA:Ā Mei Chang, but only at the very beginning, she grew on me sooo fast.Ā
GoT:Ā JAMIE LANNISTER! He pushed a child out of a tower in the first episoded for fucks sake after being caught sleeping with his sister. Then in walks Brienne of Tarth and she just changed his entire character for me.
3 OTPs:
Inuyasha: MirSan, KagSan, and InuKag in that exact order
FMA:Ā Royai, Lingfan, and Edwin I guess.
GoT:Ā Jon/Ygritte, Grey Worm/Missandei, and Arya/Gendry (Whoās ass needs to show back up very soon)
This was really hard and Iām bad at words, but I tag everyone and anyone!!!

10 favorite TV shows, including animes and cartoons (I almost never watch TV, bc I donāt have the attention span for it. )
1. Avatar the Last Airbender- Iāve watched every season multiple times, and remember watching them with my friends on Friday nights in HS. What can I say-we were super cool āŗ . See also: ZUKO.)
2. Pushing Daisies- somehow super dark and super cute at the same time? Iām rewatching it with my friend now, and it was such a tragedy that it was killed off by the 2007 (?) writersā strike. It has a really retro feel, not to mention all the awkward puns and sexual tension.
3. Inuyasha-I somehow watched all like 250 episodes of it.
4. The OC- I watched the first season with my best friend in HS. Aside from these top 3, this is where I begin to struggle (lol). I got too involved in their lives/plots and started to get stressed out though.Ā
5. Star-Crossed. A really short lived CW show.
6.Youāre Beautiful (pushing the boundaries here bc itās a kdrama). It was the first one I ever watched, and Iām still waiting to find one I like as much.
7. Heartstrings (see above. The main actors were in both series together)- I guess Iām a Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa fangirl?
8. The Scholar Who Walks at Night (currently watching)
9.Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (currently watching)
10. Ingobernable (currently watching)
10 favorite manga/comics-this is a slippery slope. I had a short lived shoujo manga blog. I havenāt been reading manga as much, so most of these are older, but still near and dear to my heart.
1. Kanata Kara/From Far Away-Seriously, go do yourself a favor and read this series, even if you donāt read manga. Honestly, everything by Kyoko Hikawa is great.Ā
2. By the same author-Miriam. The American Old West in a shoujo manga? Weird but cute.
3.Fruits Basket-One word: KYO. First series I ever read all the way through. I own physical copies of all the volumes. I remember picking them up from Barnes and Noble the first day they were released in English, and plowing through them in half an hour.Ā
4.Kamisama Hajimemashita- clearly I have a fantasy/supernatural bent, lol.
5. Saga-future/sci-fi. Not as teen-friendly as the other series on this list Ā š. Ā Iāve been reading through these more recently with my friends.
6. Alex + Ada- A newer take on the robot-girlfriend/android theme. Itās more interesting than most though because it deals with questions of the self, free will, and societal discrimination. Ā
7. Akatsuki no Yona- again with the fantasy! this one was amazing, and i still check for updates periodically. Havenāt watched the anime though.
8. Love So Life- I have no idea if this one is still ongoing (Google tells me itās finished, so I have to catch up), but it was a cute, slice of life family drama/comedy about an orphaned babysitter, and an uncle who has taken in his relativesā kids. Unsurprisingly, romance ensues.
9. Beast Master- a super short series about a girl who is able to control a boy raised by wolves (lol). If you have seen the Korean movie A Werewolf Boy it has a very similar vibe.Ā
10. Horimiya- a cool inversion of gender tropes in shoujo. The characters felt like real people to me-the scary guy ends up being a huge squish (cough, Yoongi, cough), with the girlfriend being the one that is tough and outgoing.
These are just the ones that I remembered in particular/came to me, but Iām sure there are many more that I loved!
10 things you enjoyed before kpop/enjoy besides kpop, that wonāt fit in the list above. 1. Reading- Iām currently in the process of starting a coffee/book blog in my city!
2. Coffee-see above!
3. Hanging out with friends! Iām just as happy going out and staying in with dinner and a movie.
4.Dancing-Iām not good, but I have fun with it when I go out with friends or just when Iām Ā home alone ;) I also have taken a lot of Zumba, but idk if that counts as dancing, haha.Ā
5. Cooking-I rarely do though. Too busy, and Iām lazy when itās just me. I like cooking for others though.Ā
6.Traveling-Iāve lived in Argentina and Spain, and traveled to Uruguay, India, Mexico, Portugal, Italy, Canada, Ireland, the U.K, and various countries in the Caribbean. I havenāt been to Korea or Japan yet, but hopefully they are up next! Iād also love to visit Australia with my younger brother. Iāve also traveled within the US quite a bit.
7. Learning languages-I speak Spanish Ā & English, a little bit of Galician from when/where I was living in Spain, and am currently working on my Korean.I took Chinese briefly before, but didnāt make much progress :(Ā
8. Listening to new music on Spotify. I was a 90s kid so I remember dial up, Napster (a little, lol), buying songs on iTunes and Pandora. Itās crazy how much variety is out there now to listen to!
9. Iām trying to learn how to make mashups-I think it would be fun to mix BTS with Western or Latin Pop. Havenāt made much progress on this yet.Ā
10. Most recently, writing for this blog, and spending a lot of time on tumblr :)Ā
I hope you all feel like you know me a little better now! Feel free to message me if you want to nerd out about any of the above <3

Inuyasha for the fandom thing
Itās true I rant about this show a lot but itās because it really does mean so much to me. It was my first anime and I watched it at 15. Weāve been doin this dance for 10 years now.
The first character I first fell in love with:Ā Kikyo. Even when I was little, I couldnāt bring myself to jump on the hate train for her. I thought she was so mysterious, complex and beautiful.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:Ā Naraku. Iām such a Kikyo apologist but Naraku was ultimately my favourite character and to this day I still love him. In fact, I appreciate him more as time goes on.
The character everyone else loves that I donāt: Sesshomaru. It was genuinely bizarre to me how obsessed basically everyone was to me when I joined the fandom. I love his design and heās an intriguing character but I justā¦never got the hype. Mind you, cool, aloof guys have never been my thing. Iām kind of grateful now bc the fallout after the godforsaken sequel was obviously far less painful for me than others. I have to admit my recent rewatch is making me like him more but thatās another tangent.
The character I love that everyone else hates:Ā Kikyo again. I canāt believe the amount of people in this day and age of appreciating complex writing, especially for women, who still hate Kikyo with complete vindication as though she isnāt one of the best written characters in classic anime.
The character I used to love but donāt any longer: Not to say I hate her, but Iām not as fond of Kagome as I used to be. Mind you, when I was first watching this show I was around Kagomeās age so I was able to relate to and enjoy her in ways I donāt so much anymore.
The character I would totally smooch:Ā Letās seeā¦Kikyo, Naraku, Byakuya, Kagura, InuKimi, Princess Kaguyaā¦are we noticing a theme here?
The character Iād want to be like:Ā This is gonna sound odd butā¦Kaede. Sheās this wise, dry-witted, tough older lady who just takes everyoneās bullshit in stride and is in a good rhythm of life for herself. I envy her tranquility, strength and logic.
The character Iād slap: No one is getting a physical slap but Iām dishing some tea. Kagome and Sango need to learn that being that possessive over a guy who has at no point said heās in a relationship with you is NOT cute. Miroku, baby, stay away from women. In general. Forever. Sesshomaru needs to have a pizza, have some weed and lighten up. Kikyo and Kohaku are going to be put into therapy and get warm blankets. Naraku needs a tranquilliser.
A pairing that I love: NaraSess has been a favourite since forever. Iām partial to both InuKag and InuKik. KaguKik, KikKag and KagSan are all gorgeous. InuKoga, InuMir and SessKoga are also gorgeous. SessKik, SessKagu and Naraku/Byakuya have grown on me. KohaRin and MirSan justā¦work. They just do. Like yes, this is how it should be.
A pairing that I despise:Ā idk if I despise SessKag but Iām not as big a fan. I love me some dark dynamics but NarKik just feels too much like torture for both of them. I canāt do that to them. The only Inuyasha pairing I really and truly hate is SessRin but hey, donāt we all?
