the problem with all these white authors like rick riordan who are revealing their stances on the israel-palestine apartheid is that they barely do anything but virtue signal when they claim “i’m on the side against war” “i’m anti-violence” “i abhor terrorism.” zero people are going to disagree with you. zero people believe what hamas did is justified. zero people think israel shouldn’t have a right to defend itself against terrorism. but that isn’t what israel is doing when they collectively punish all of palestine, who doesn’t even have an official army. when rick riordan says some wishy-washy bullshit about the violence suffered on both sides of the conflict, and words his whole dumbass blog post like it’s violence that is in any way equal, that literally helps no one. in fact, it’s so damn negligent of the 75 years of violence that palestine has suffered and been oppressed for. yes, there are innocent civilians in israel who are suffering, no one is disagreeing with you. that doesn’t erase the fact that israel is a disgusting state that has used state-sanctioned violence on a systemic scale since its conception, and the oppressed people have responded to that in violent retaliation (because OBVIOUSLY they would). israel is built on the subjugation of palestine, there is no equal suffering between the two.

congrats if YOU PERSONALLY don't INTEND to use it as an insult but guess the fuck what. ninety-nine percent of the people using the word narcissist are using it AS AN INSULT so maybe you should, i don't know, listen to the people you are hurting by saying it's okay to use the word as an insult? just a thought. because i guarantee you, most people hear narcissist and don't think "oh, like the fairytale!" they think "oh, like abusive people!" so it's great that YOU know the origin of the word and think you're sooo amazing and not harmful and totally angelic and holier-than-thou for that but most people do not know that, and do not care to know that, and guess what?

i've said it before, i'll say it again: by saying "oh, people won't just change the way they talk," you are a part of the problem. because people DO change the way they talk. there's a reason most people don't go around calling other people the n-word, or fags, or crippled, or slow/retarded, etc., etc., etc., anymore, when the words do not apply to themselves. and that is because we recognized the harm those words do when used as insults. so, we stopped using them. it is not that hard to comprehend!!! most derogatory terms were derived from non-derogatory contexts. narcissistic should not be used as an insult any more than any other word.

As much as I love the ending for Juno and as much as I cried over it, I think I would’ve preferred it if there was no implication of Nureyev coming back. Like I like the ship, but this was about Juno, and I feel adding him back in even if he doesn’t speak, takes away from that. I get why they did it, not having something would’ve led to riots, but I’m sad that what I’m seeing in my dash is just jupeter and no love for the rest of the episode. We got so many other characters to wrap this up, and it’s just about Nureyev

finally watching keefe's entire media availability from the other day and reflecting, and it makes me so sad, lol. love or hate keefe, he was brought in to be the contrast to mike babcock... to be calmer and bring more respect in his interpersonal relationships with the players, and i think he did a great job of that. i don't think he lost the room, i just think the leafs need to see a different kind of coaching... different system... to give them the best chance to advance in the playoffs with the way the team's constructed, but you can't watch that media availability and say he doesn't care or wasn't trying or is a bad temperament to coach this team. his whole approach WAS to listen to the players needs and be a calmer presence, and i've enjoyed that a lot about him. i know some people don't love that he handles accountability player to player differently, but i think that's a mature way to go about it knowing he has different kinds of relationships with them all, and they all care abt the privacy of those methods to different degrees. all of these core guys have had insane seasons being coached by him, and that's not nothing... i'm onboard with the idea that change is needed, but i like keefe a lot as a person, and i think he was a great choice to pivot to post-babcock, regardless of the playoff outcomes. hope he finds success elsewhere in the league if he is gone....
