You know what, I figured out why we're having so many errors in Destiny 2 now. It's because with the addition of Micah-10, we've finally reached a critical mass of women with drop dead gorgeous voices, and the game simply can't handle it anymore. It's like Telesto. Too powerful. If they'd actually put Ikora Rey in a rendered cutscene for more than 5 seconds it would have shut down the servers for good

Destiny 2: Forsaken spoilers ahead. Big ones. Gotta scream about something real quick though.
So I finished Forsaken’s story earlier today and my favourite part had to be Petra and Mara’s (sort of) reunion after Uldren’s death. Petra telling you “I want to see my Queen again...” as you enter the Dreaming City and being so happy and excited that Mara is alive that she forgets she’s in public and there’s a Guardian standing right there and calls Mara by her first name before quickly correcting herself to “my Queen”. Mara addressing the two of you like a storm made flesh (Kirsten Potter is an incredible VA btw) before turning to Petra and telling her in the softest voice in the world to be strong and that she believes in her. Also nice to know that, despite half the Tower telling me killing Uldren will have super serious consequences at some point, Mara knows exactly what happened and, while sad, doesn’t seem to blame you.
Also it’s kind of funny that the entire story was about Uldren committing all kinds of atrocities (killing Cayde, slaughtering his own people, unleashing the Scorn upon the Reef, inconveniencing the Spider etc) and ultimately using the flesh of a god to breach the barrier between two dimensions just to see his sister again...only for Petra to hop through a portal and call Mara on what is basically a giant magic phone? And it works? You beat up a big Fallen to get your hands on something the phone needs to work and then bam: Mara Sov confirmed alive just like that. Did Uldren just not know about the big magic phone or was Riven just messing with his head that badly?
Either way, I guess I liked the scene so much mostly because I just really wasn’t expecting it? Like I was standing there behind Petra as she called out to Mara thinking “oh god this definitely won’t work am I going to have to fight another tentacle monster here” and then Mara was just “oh hey guys”. That’ll teach me I guess.
TDLR: Queen’s back (kind of). Party at the Dreaming City y’all!

Take this post as silly or serious as you want because it's both, but it was indeed a post about the sidelining of women of color in the narrative per my tags
