Simon "Ghost" Riley x Fem!Reader
Summary: Ghost avoids you but it's not what you think.
Warning: Slight Time Skips, Kinda Asshole Ghost?, Smut (18+), Use of Y/N, Language (?).
Word Count: 4.6K
Note: Now, I know in my master list I said that right now I would only be writing for the Slytherin Boys......but I have spiraled back into my Call of Duty, specifically Ghost. Now this is just an experiment, I don't know how this will go over but if you guys like it then maybeeee I'll post my other fandom fics that I have.
Also! This is a birthday gift for my beautiful gem, @slytherinslut0 , so everyone thank her and wish her a happy birthday. As always, @cafekitsune is on the banner.
Taskforce 141 didn’t pay any attention when they were told that they would have a new nurse on the base. They assumed it would be another male, just like everyone who got employed here.
So, only one could imagine their shock when the base’s doctor, Dr. Moscaw, introduced a pretty little thing like you to the team.
“This is Y/N. She will work under me. Your first point of contact for anything medical-wise.” Moscaw spoke, “Don’t go scaring her off, boys.”
There were grumbles and protests as Dr. Moscaw left you with the team. You cleared your throat as you gave them all a nervous smile. All their eyes were on you, surveying you almost like prey. A certain man with a skull mask being the most intense one. “Um, right. You all desperately need an annual check-up. So, whenever you all have a moment, please stop by the medical ward. I would love to update your records and meet you all.”
Before any of them could say anything, you had scurried off.
Over the next few weeks, they all came in one by one. Introducing themselves as you went through updating their records.
First came Captain Price. You liked to think that he came in to lead by example and not to get out of his mountain of paperwork. Then Kyle came in the next day. He begged you to call him “Gaz”, saying that nobody on base ever calls him Kyle.
Not long after Gaz came, Johnny waltzed into your office. He was flirty but overall friendly. Johnny, just like Gaz, begged you to call him Soap like everyone else. He was the one who referred to you as a breath of fresh air amidst the testosterone-filled air. Often, he and Gaz came to your office. They always claimed to be checking up on you, but you knew it was because they were hiding from their duties.
“Where is…. um, Ghost? Or is his name Simon? It’s two first names on this file.” You asked, furrowing your eyebrows at the lack of information in his records. Soap chuckled, glancing up from his phone to you. “Ghost is the name he’s gonna give ‘ya. It’s the name that we all know him by.”
“A field name, I assume?” You asked, looking up from your computer. Gaz and Soap nodded. “Yep. His name for plenty of reasons, but that’s neither here nor there.” Gaz waved his hand dismissively.
“Well, is he going to come in for a check-up? He doesn’t have another doctor or anything listed.” You sighed. “His medical record is empty. There is nothing on here, other than his name and height. No birthday, no past medication history, nothing.”
“Of course, that’s all that’s on there. That’s all anyone knows about him.” Soap laughed. “He’s not gonna come in here for a check-up.”
“What? Why not?” You asked, closing your computer.
“Too much information.” Gaz shrugged. “Nobody knows anything about him. It’s a shocker that he even allowed his real name to be on those records.”
“So, nobody knows if this guy even goes to the doctor?” You threw your hands up in exasperation. “That’s insane.”
“Ya may be right, but that means nothing to Ghost.” Soap said.
“And insane is basically his middle name. The man does whatever he wants.” Gaz added.
“Do you think he will come in if I just ask?” You pondered to the men.
Gaz and Soap glanced at each other before shrugging. “If you bat those pretty eyelashes at any man on this base, they’ll be eating out the palm of your hand,” Soap said.
“But Ghost isn’t like the average man. He’s not easily swayed like most.” Gaz added, “But I mean, it won’t hurt to try.”
With the encouragement from Gaz and Soap to just try to ask him, you spent the next few weeks attempting to track Ghost down. Unfortunately for you, he lived up to his name very well. It was like every time you went looking for him, everyone had “just seen him.”
Eventually, you found him, by pure coincidence. You were walking to your car, getting ready to leave the base for the day when your eyes landed on a 6’4, muscular man who donned a skull balaclava. You hadn’t seen him since the day that Price had introduced you to the team. He seemed bigger and a bit more intimidating than before, but your determination outweighed your nervousness.
You walked up to him, clearing your throat. Ghost stopped fiddling with his motorcycle to drag his eyes up to your face. His eyes were dark and analytical as he scanned your face before tracing down your body. You felt self-conscious of his wondering gaze.
“Whatcha ‘ya want?” His voice was deep, his accent coming out heavier than you thought it was.
“Um, I’m the new nurse.” You squeaked out before clearing your throat.
“I know.”
“Right.” You took a deep breath. “Your medical records are empty and you’re the only one who hasn’t come in for a check-up.”
There was a brief silence between you two as you waited for him to say something, anything. When you got the hint that he wasn’t going to say anything, you decided to just push forward and ask.
“Will you come in for one? And maybe introduce yourself a little more?”
Ghost stared at you a little longer before turning back to his motorcycle. “No.”
Your eyes widened at the blatant refusal. You raised your eyebrow, crossing your arms. “What do you mean ‘no’?”
“Do ‘ya not know what ‘no’ means? Aren’t ‘ya educated?” Ghost grunted; his back still turned to you.
“You can’t just…. You must fill out these records somehow!”
“No, I don’t.”
You narrowed your eyes at Ghost, huffing slightly. “It’s mandatory to at least get an annual check-up.”
“So, I’ve heard. Don’t care.” He spoke again, throwing one leg over the motorcycle. He started it up, gripping the handles. His eyes focused on your face again as he revved the engine.
“But-”
Before you could even think about responding, Ghost had sped off, leaving you in the dust.
“And he just sped off?” Soap laughed. Gaz smacked his arm, giving you an apologetic look.
“Ignore Soap. He has a terrible sense of humor.” Gaz rolled his eyes. “But we told you he was hard to sway.”
“I just don’t understand why he doesn’t want to come in.” You groaned, “Maybe he just doesn’t want to get to know me?”
“It’s Ghost, you aren’t supposed to understand him.” Gaz shrugged. “But I doubt it’s you that he’s against.”
You let another groan, causing the two men to chuckle.
“Hell, Darlin’, you might just make the man nervous as hell. As you can see, we don’t have many pretty females around here.” Soap leaned back in his chair, grinning at you.
“Me? Make Ghost nervous? Please.” You raised an eyebrow, rolling your eyes. Soap shrugged, “You never know, he could be.”
“You never know,” Gaz said, agreeing with Soap.
“Whatever.” You muttered, ending the conversation.
Weeks had passed and Ghost gave no sign of even considering stepping into the medical ward or trying to talk to you. He evaded you any chance he got. You told Dr. Moscaw and Price about the predicament with Ghost. Both waved it off and said, “He’s Ghost, that’s just how he is.
When your official first three months of working on the base had come around, Soap and Gaz had invited you out to the bar to celebrate.
“It’ll be everyone. Cap, Laswell, König, hell, even Ghost said he would come.” Soap smiled at you. You scoffed slightly at the revelation that Ghost was going to show his masked face at the bar. “Are we sure he’s coming for me, or rather, the drinks?” You asked, your eyes focused on the computer screen in front of you.
Gaz chuckled. “He refused to go until we said it was a celebration for you.”
“Funny that the man that evades me wants to come to my celebration.” You muttered.
“You know, he’s probably around you more than you think,” Soap said, causing you to look up at him with a raised eyebrow. Soap shrugged, continuing, “I mean, he’s known for being around without others knowing, hence the name Ghost.”
“Like he sees me, but I don’t see him?” You asked. Soap and Gaz nodded.
“Think of it like he is collecting information on you. The poor guy lives and breathes our missions and the military. It’s all he knows. It works with the idea that you make the man nervous.” Gaz said, patting your back as he and Soap filed out of your office.
Gaz’s and Soap’s words stuck to you. Maybe you had gone about approaching Ghost all wrong. He was quieter than Gaz and Soap and obviously more secretive, given the blank medical record and the mask. Maybe you should let him approach you, let him feel you out to see if you’re trustworthy or not.
When the night of the celebration rolled around, you promised yourself that you would not pester Ghost. Despite the growing need to get to know him and your nursing instincts to make sure he was healthy; you were going to let him come to you.
You walked into the bar, tugging slightly at your dress that rose from sitting in the taxi. Your black mini dress hugged your curves and had a low neckline that showed off your cleavage with your matching strappy heels. Although Soap and Gaz had to you to come dressed up, you debated calling the taxi back and going home to change. You were going to be with your co-workers, who were most likely going to be in jeans.
You sighed, pushing open the door to the bar. Your eyes snapped over to the large table in the back of the bar where all your coworkers sat. “Y/N!” Gaz yelled, jumping up from his seat. He grabbed your arm, escorting you to the table. Everyone shot you a smile, except König and Ghost, who both donned a balaclava. Although, you could tell from the crinkle in König’s eyes that he was smiling at you.
“The guest of honor is finally here.” Laswell smiled at you. “Congratulations on sticking it out at the base for three months. I must admit, I thought these boys would scare you away by now.”
“No, I’m tougher than I look.” You joked, “Plus, everyone is nice. I felt welcomed.”
Gaz and Soap gave Ghost an unmistakable side eye that you caught, and if you caught it, then everyone at the table caught it. You also didn’t miss the narrowed eyes that Ghost gave back to Gaz and Soap.
“A round of shots! For our new family member.” Price winked at you, giving you a warm smile.
That’s how the night went on, chatting and drinks getting passed around. It didn’t take you long to get buzzed. You kept true to your promise to yourself and didn’t go looking for interactions with Ghost.
However, you felt his eyes on you. It was like they never left you, always following your every movement.
It felt familiar.
Ghost stayed quiet the whole night, not cracking a chuckle at any jokes or taking part in the conversations. His eyes wandered the bar as if he was looking for any type of escape. Whenever your eyes met his, he looked away, his eyes hardening in the process.
“I have to go to the bathroom.” You said, feeling the alcohol finally run through you and back up your throat. Although everyone was too occupied with their conversations to hear you. You stumbled your way to the bathroom, pushing open the door. You wasted no time, bending over the toilet and vomiting what little contents that were in your stomach.
“I knew I should’ve eaten before….” You whispered to yourself.
“Yeah, ‘ya should have. Not very nurse of ‘ya.” A deep voice echoed behind you.
You jumped, turning around, clutching your chest as your eyes landed on Ghost. He stood behind you, arms crossed, as he leaned against the stall door.
“God, when the fuck did you get in here?” You asked, your eyes traveling down his figure. This would be the first time that you had ever seen Ghost in civilian clothes. Even on relaxed days on the base, Ghost wore full tactical gear. Tonight, he opted for a compression tee and black sweatpants, as if he was planning to go to the gym after all of this.
Which wouldn’t be surprising for Ghost.
“I didn’t know you had tattoos.” Your eyes landed on his sleeve, which seemed to move as he unconsciously flexed his muscles.
“I know ‘ya didn’t.” Ghost said, offering his hand out to you. You took it gratefully, standing up to your two feet. Ghost handed you some mouthwash and gum, along with your purse.
“Didn’t want nobody shifting through ‘ya stuff.” Ghost said when he saw the look that you gave him, “Also thought ‘ya might want to touch up ‘ya make up.”
“Thank you.” You gave him a small smile. He nodded, turning on his heel to leave out the bathroom. You swigged the mouthwash around, spitting into the sink. You freshen up your makeup before popping the piece of gum in your mouth.
You made your way back to the table, sitting down when a waitress came and dropped a personal pan of pepperoni pizza in front of you with water. “Oh,” You looked up at her, “I didn’t order this.”
“One of your friends ordered it for you. Told me to bring it when you came back to your seat.” She smiled and walked away. You glanced down at the pizza with a smile. Pizza was your favorite greasy food; it matched the rumbling of your drunk stomach perfectly.
You looked up at Soap and Gaz, the only two people who would know about your guilty pleasure food. Soap was leaning against the table flirting with another waitress while Gaz made bets with Price on football games. You decided you would thank one of them later when they weren’t busy.
4 am finally rolled around, causing the night to end. Gaz had called you a cab, walking you out as everyone said their goodbyes. Ghost had already mounted his motorcycle and sped off into the night. Once Gaz got you settled in the backseat, you smiled at him. “Thanks, Gaz. Oh, and thank you for the pizza, too.”
Gaz raised his eyebrow. “What pizza?”
“The pizza you ordered me when I went to the bathroom.” You clarified.
“I didn’t order you a pizza, hell, I didn’t even know you went to the bathroom.” Gaz said before chuckling a bit with a mischievous smirk, “The only person who ordered food was Ghost.”
Before you could ask anything more, Gaz tapped the roof of the car and your taxi pulled off.
You went even longer without seeing Ghost after the bar. It was almost as if he had just disappeared into thin air. You tried to question Gaz and Soap, but they claimed they knew nothing about it. Saying that it was probably a “lucky guess” but if anything they had told you about Ghost was true, nothing he did was just a lucky guess.
You pushed all your questions to the back of your mind, as you knew you weren’t going to get any answers any time soon. You were cleaning up the office as your day was ending. 141 were out on a mission, a relatively relaxed one, so your office was quiet and easy to pack up rather than having to tell Soap to stop touching stuff every 5 minutes.
You hummed to yourself, not taking notice that your office door had swung open.
“You’re terrible at being aware of ‘ya surroundings.”
You jumped, a squeal falling from your mouth. “You have to stop doing that!”
Ghost stood at your door, in sweatpants and a hoodie. His arms crossed as he stared at you through his mask. He stepped into the room, closing the door behind him. You suddenly felt small like the room was closing in on you due to Ghost’s tall frame.
“What are you doing here?” You asked. Ghost’s eyes seemed to widen, as if he wasn’t sure why he was there either.
“Give me a check-up.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, glancing over at the clock. It was 7:35 pm, and the base was basically empty.
“It can’t wait til tomorrow?” You asked. Ghost took a step closer to you, “I thought you wanted to get to know me?”
“I do but-”
“Then give me the check-up.” Ghost grunted, sitting on the bench. His large frame made the normally large bench look small under him.
You sighed softly, getting out your equipment to start his check-up. You stay silent as you slip on your latex gloves after washing your hands. “So, I’m guessing something happened on the mission.”
Ghost looked over to you, his eyes coated in a small dose of confusion. “What?”
“I mean, you seemed very adamant about not getting a check-up before and now you’re here after a mission. I just assumed maybe something happened.” You clarified as you moved to check his heartbeat.
It took everything in you not to let your hands wander across his chest as you pulled away from him to turn to your computer and record the data.
“Nothing happened. Just built up some confidence.” He said, getting off the bench to stand behind you closely.
“O-oh…. confidence for what?” You took a deep breath, your eyes focusing on the computer screen.
Ghost didn’t answer your question, instead, he grabbed your shoulders and spun you around to face him. “You’re very annoying, you know that?”
“What?” Your eyes widened.
“You’re always around, smelling good. In these scrubs that hug your body tighter than any other scrubs I’ve ever seen.” Ghost muttered, “Always laughing at Soap’s stupid jokes. Always getting pizza when you know you aren’t supposed to.”
“I try to avoid you and ignore you, but you just crawl your little ass into my mind anyways. All mission…. just thinking and wondering what you’re doing.” Ghost continued.
“Is this your way of admitting that you’ve been thinking about me?” You asked.
Ghost stayed silent. His eyes stay trained on you, no words or sounds coming from him. His hand moved to take a piece of your hair and twirling it around his finger.
“Um, we should finish the check-up so we can go.” You spoke softly. Ghost ignored you, dipping his face into your neck. He took a deep breath. “God, you smell heavenly.”
“Ghost....”
“I need you.” He grumbled, “I need you all around me. I’ve learned everything I can about you and all I can think about is how I need to feel about you.”
“How I need to ruin you.”
You felt a knot in your stomach at his words, heat pooling inside you. “R-ruin me?”
“Beyond belief.” Ghost confirmed, “Give me the green light.”
You stayed silent as Ghost pushed his knee between your legs, pressing his knees gently against your core, causing a whimper to fall from your mouth. He lifted his mask to reveal his lips, pressing against your neck in soft, wet kisses. “Y/N. Answer me.”
“I….” You gasped for air, “P-please…do it.”
Ghost didn’t need to hear anything else. He lifted you easily, throwing you on the bench. He yanked your top off, groping your breast. “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about these since the bar. So soft and plump…” Ghost grumbled, pulling your bra down and latching his mouth to your nipple.
A small moan fell from your mouth at the actions. His tongue swirled around your nipple before he pulled away with a slight “pop”. He left a trail of kisses down your chest to your naval. He tugged down your pants, throwing them in the same direction as your top. He groaned at the sight of the wet spot in your panties.
“So wet and ready for me. Huh, love?” Ghost said, blowing softly on your clothed clit.
You whined softly, nodding your head. He slapped your thigh, his eyes looking up at you. “I want to hear use your words. Let me hear that pretty voice that has been plaguing my mind for these past few months.”
You let out a sigh as Ghost pressed the pad of his tongue to your slit through your panties, teasing you. “Yes…. I’m wet and ready for you.”
“Good fucking girl, Lovie.” Ghost chuckled, moving your panties to the side to latch his mouth to your clit. He sucked and lapped at your clit harshly, your moans becoming uncontrollable as he ate you out like a starved man. His tongue teased your slit, flicking his tongue up and down.
He gripped your thighs tighter, pulling you closer to him. His nose pressed against your clit, stimulating you more and more. “Oh God, fuck, Ghost.” You moaned, your hands reaching out to grip the top of his balaclava.
“That’s right. I want you moaning my name like it’s the only thing that pretty little mind knows.” Ghost muttered, slipping two fingers into you as he kept lapping up all your juices. Your thighs tightened around his face as you felt your climax coming.
Ghost groaned at the action, his cock twitching with anticipation. You tossed your head back as pleasure coursed through your body. “I’m about to cum, fuck, I’m s’close.”
Your words seem to push Ghost further into sending you over the edge. His tongue moved faster against you as his fingers matched his pace. Your mind was blanking from the orgasm that rushed over your body. Ghost pulled his fingers out slowly as he pulled away from your swollen clit. His mouth was covered in your slick as he smirked. “Taste so sweet, Angel.” He spoke.
He pushed his two fingers into your mouth, groaning at the warmth of it. You suck on his fingers, tasting yourself on them as you swirled your tongue around. “Such a good, eager girl. So happy to taste yourself on my fingers.” Ghost whispered, pushing them down your throat so he could hear your gags.
Ghost pulled away, yanking his sweatpants and boxers down. His cock sprang out, revealing its large length. It hit his abdomen; the tip leaking with pre-cum. Your eyes looked down at him, eyes widening at the sight. “My God….” You whispered.
Ghost grabbed the base of his shaft, jerking himself off slightly before pulling you to the edge of the bench and wrapping one of your legs around his waist while propping the other one on his shoulder. “I need this pretty pussy wrapped around my cock, taking every inch of me.” Ghost growled. He rubbed his tip up and down your slick, coating it in it.
“Tell me how much you want this, Lovie. How bad do you want me to fuck you?” Ghost demanded; his eyes focused on you. You let out a whiny moan, looking up at him, “Please fuck me. I want your cock so bad.”
Ghost pushed into you, filling you up slowly but surely. Ghost groaned, sinking into you until he was fully inside you. “S’fucking tight. Gonna fuck this pretty cunt until it’s molded to only take my cock.” Ghost groaned, snapping his hips forward for a forceful thrust. A guttural moan fell from your mouth, as Ghost gripped your throat with both hands, pounding into you at a ruthless pace.
“M’been dreaming of this since the day I laid eyes on your fucking application picture.” Ghost muttered, “Such a pretty fucking girl. Batting your eyelashes at everyone.”
Ghost’s hands moved down to your hips, his fingers digging into your soft flesh. Your moans were drowned out by the loud slapping of your skin. If it wasn’t for the way that Ghost was viciously railing you, you would be concerned that someone would walk past and hear you.
“Such a fucking whore. Getting fucked in your office…. you like being railed after work? Hmm?” Ghost hissed out as you clenched around him.
“You look s’pretty being full of my cock.” Ghost muttered, leaning down to kiss and nip your neck. You whined, feeling another knot form in your stomach. You clenched around Ghost, making him groan. “M’close…. s’close…” You spoke in between moans.
“Go ahead and make a mess on my cock, baby. Cum all over this cock like the slut you are.” Ghost demanded. It didn’t take long for your legs to shake and for Ghost’s cock to be drenched in your climax. He slowed his thrusts, pulling out of you. You whimpered at the lost feeling.
“Get up, Lovie. I want to cum all in that pretty mouth of yours.” Ghost said, pulling you off the bench and to your knees. You looked up at him as he pumped himself. Slapping his cock against your lips, you opened your mouth to let him slip in.
“S’fucking warm. Fucking made to take my dick in every fucking hole you have.” Ghost muttered, his hand snaking around the back of your head to shove his dick further down your throat. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head as you tasted all your juices that drenched his cock. Saliva trailed down your chin as Ghost thrust in and out of your mouth at an unforgiving pace. “A fucking slut you are, taking my dick so well. Fuck.” Ghost groaned as his hip stuttered slightly. His cock twitched in your mouth before ropes of cum shot down your throat.
Your eyes screwed shut as Ghost stayed deep in your throat, making sure you swallowed all his cum. He pulled out, bending down to level as you looked up at him. “So, this was going through your mind all this time.” You spoke breathlessly.
“Shocked, Lovie?” Ghost smirked, lifting you back to your feet.
“A little.” You nodded. Ghost tilted your head back to press a rough but gentle kiss to your lips. “Well, I suggest you get used to it because there will be more of that.”
“So, you made your move, huh?” Soap grinned wickedly at Ghost, who sat further down the table. Ghost’s eyes shot to Soap’s as he narrowed them at the man.
“Don’t even try to deny it, LT.” Gaz said, his eyes staying trained on his phone. “All the talk around the base is how a certain skull mask-wearing lieutenant is attached to the hip of the pretty little nurse.”
“She must’ve really made you nervous if it took you almost three months to make a move on her.” Soap teased.
“I did more than make a move on her, Sergeant.” Ghost spoke, “That pretty little nurse is now my pretty little nurse.”
Ghost smirked underneath his mask as he looked between Gaz and Soap. “So, it would do you both good to watch your hands the next to you hug her. Would hate to have to break your fingers off for wandering too far for your own good.”
Without another word, Ghost sauntered out of the meeting room, leaving Soap and Gaz dumbfounded.
“Hm, I was wondering when that boy was going to make a move.” Price hummed from his spot, “All that begging to hire her to this base and took nearly four months to even talk to her.”
“Wait, what? Ghost knew about her before she even got to base?” Gaz asked.
“Ghost was the one who pulled her application.” Price said, “Said ‘his future girl’ had applied, and I needed to get her on base.”
Gaz and Soap looked at each other before sighing. Of course, Ghost knew you before you knew him.
Because it wouldn’t be Ghost if he didn’t.

Prince Charming
req: Can i request dad!jj x mom!reader when she breastfeeding in public BC I geniusly want to know how he would react, possessive ? goofy ?
Warnings: breastfeeding, DAMN KARENS, protective jj <33, dad!jayj, fluff
“Aw shit.” He grumbled when she started to sob in line, everyone turning to look at them. “What? Never heard a baby cry before?” He told them, you hitting his shoulder. But it worked, they all turned back around, embarrassed that the Maybank boy would call them out.
You sighed, picking her up, and checking her diaper real quick. That wasn’t the problem. So you started to cradle her, shushing her gently and rocking her in your arms. Her sobs still hadn’t quieted. You glanced around the cafe, turning back to JJ.
“Go sit down.” He shrugged, leaning down to the baby in your arms, tickling her and making a funny face in attempt to make her smile or laugh.
It made her laugh for a moment, but when he stopped, her sobs were right back. You gave him a small smile, as a thank you for the attempt.
“I got it. I remember your order. It’s a-“
“I know you do.” You giggled, shaking your head at the boy and grabbing the stroller with one hand , walking to the nearest corner as quickly as you could.
You sat her down in your lap, and began to look for anything to cover yourself, since your baby hated the nursing cover. You couldn’t find anything and she had began to tug on your shirt, so you huffed and just pulled it up, not caring at this point.
JJ came back with your drinks and food rather quick, sitting next to you, giving you a small smile and setting it onto the table.
Your baby latched onto your nipple, and you already knew people would be staring. They always did.
JJ glanced around, scooting closer to you when he noticed a specific man staring a little too concentrated. JJ glared at the man, making direct eye contact with him.
The man turned away, swallowing the lump in his throat. JJ smiled victoriously, turning back to you. That’s when he noticed more stares, from younger kids and others, who you could care less about.
“These fucking people need to mind their business.” He grumbled out, sipping on the coffee he had in front of him.
“They always stare.” You shrugged. “I give up on caring at this point.”
“It’s like they’ve never seen a pair of tits in their life.” He snorted, you turning to face him and raising your eyebrow at him.
“What? I’m just saying the truth.” He murmured, putting an arm on your chair and around you.
“Sometimes I wonder how I let myself get knocked up by you.”
“Fair enough.” He tilted his head to the side. Everything was fine for a little. You were drinking your water, Jj was content with drinking his coffee, rambling on, and she was still drinking your milk. That was until you felt a tap on your shoulder.
You both turned, looking at the older woman who stared down at you. You knew when she had a Karen haircut, that she would be saying some shit.
“Uhm, excuse me. That is extremely inappropriate, and you shouldn’t be doing it in a public place.”
JJ had a scowl on his face at her words, you looking at the woman confused and anger beginning to bubble in your stomach.
“I’m sorry?” You scoffed, glancing down at your baby.
“My husband is at the table, and we both find it difficult to eat when we’re distracted by…” she motioned to your baby with her hands.
You had to laugh. You laughed in her face, her making a disgusted face.
“Yeah, I think your husband is distracted for a different reason, lady.” JJ glanced at the man sitting at the table. He waved, the man staring at him. “I know, she’s got tits, crazy, woo fucking hoo. Can you leave us alone?” He exclaimed.
“It is disgusting, why not go into the bathroom or something and do… that?”
You were going to open your mouth before JJ spoke for you.
“Oh my god, mind your business. The baby’s hungry, why is that so weird and disgusting? It’s not.”
She huffed, immediately going over to the workers, demanding a manager. JJ scoffed, pulling you both closer towards him, glancing at the lady’s husband.
“Your girlfriend could be a bit more… modest.” He spoke.
“And you could go fuck yourself.” JJ retorted before turning back to you.
“Thank you.” You murmured to him.
“Don’t thank me. Gotta keep my girls safe, don’t I?”
“Oh, Prince Charming.” You retorted. “What would I do without you?”
“You would die without me.”
“I probably would.” You smiled, the manager walking over to your table, the woman standing next to him.
“What seems to be the problem?” He sighed out, not seeming so amused by the lady.
You shrugged, JJ just still glaring at the lady. “I’m just trying to feed her.” You murmured.
“She’s doing it in public! Where anyone- a child can see… all her stuff!”
JJ’s jaw tightened, the manager taking notice. “Okay- okay, can we, like, calm down?” He told the woman.
“Kick them out and then I will!”
JJ was struggling to keep his composure, you knew it. You turned to him, laying a hand on his arm and shaking your head.
“They’re not doing anything wrong.” The manager spoke to the lady. “There’s nothing I can do. But you’re causing a disruption, and I’m afraid if it continues, I’m gonna have to ask you to leave.” He told her, her face falling. She shook her head, grabbing her purse and stuff, then both leaning while shouting.
The manager sighed, going over to the table, wiping it down and picking up cups, stopping at your table again.
“Sorry about that. My wife used to breastfeed, and I can’t tell you how annoying it is when people like that exist.” He laughed, you smiling and laughing along. “How old is she?”
“6 months.” You smiled, glancing down at her before turning back to the man.
“That’s lovely. Miss them when they’re that young. Mines is 14 now.”
“Oh, that’s great!” You told him, he smiled and shrugged.
“Yeah.” You could just tell the fondness he had for them, in his eyes and the way he spoke. “Well, you two have a good day, alright?”
“You too.” JJ gave him a small smile, nodding his head, before turning back to you. You moved to unlatch her, once you felt like she had enough. JJ pulled down your shirt, and you sat her down and finally began to eat in peace.
“Oh my God.” He suddenly spoke, you turning to him with furrowed eyebrows. “What? What?” You asked him.
“I’m gonna teach her how to cuss at people.”
“Seriously?”
“Oh, yeah. So when you don’t have me, your Prince Charming, you have her just going ‘fwuck you!’ It’s perfect.”
“Yeah, well, that’s if she doesn’t pick your sailors mouth before you can even teach her.”
“Hey, you cuss just as much as me, ma’am.”
“I’m not saying ‘fuck, shit, or piss’ every 20 minutes though.”
He thought for a moment, before nodding. “You’re right.”
“I know I am.”

nightingale [m.v.s]
pairing: Mob Boss!Max Verstappen x Nurse!Reader wc: 1.7k cw: indications of ppd (not explicit but you'd have to read the lines for it), max is not the most mentally stable, abuse mentioned (not in detail) an: elle is 100% made up and if yall want more family content hmu i can do it 😝 also, the nightingale oath isn’t universally used, but essentially it’s almost the same thing as the Hippocratic oath doctors take :)
“She won’t stop crying!” Max snapped, frustratedly clutching the rails of the crib as the baby in it cried relentlessly, giving you a crazed look from the corner of his eye as you got closer. It was like dealing with a wounded animal that refused your help.
“Breath Max. Breath.” From the moment you had arrived at the Verstappen home, it had been walking on eggshells, anger fueling his every waking move from as far as three weeks as he prowled around the house.
“Godverdomme (goddamnit) Y/n, I know that! Why is she crying though?!”
You reached out a hand, stroking his back gently. You ought to be as angry as him for having you snatched off the streets but you couldn’t, not with the reveal of his child. You had the barest idea of what he might have been going through.
“I don’t know, I'm not… yeah.” The look in his eyes turned sharp and you closed your mouth, staring down at your hands.
“I’m leaving, I can’t do this right now. Don’t come after me or else.” He threatened, the anger on his face fading into a stoic look as he turned away from the child, one look you feared more than his explosive anger.
It wasn’t until he left the room, gun drawn in hand, that you could breathe again, nearly collapsing to the floor.
You turned around, weakly holding the rails. You could hear him barking at the guards from inside the room, fading into the distance as your anticipation slowly died down. You thought that maybe today, you were good as dead.
The baby’s fussing had died down long before you had finally noticed. You hesitated when looking at her, reaching in to pick her up gently.
“Hi Elle.”
All the baby did was look at you blankly, eyes still wet from the countless tears that’d been shed before Max left. She had his gorgeous blue eyes, but most likely her mothers soft face.
You knew he was a dangerous man, and now you supposed the baby knew as well, seeing the way she’d been crying before Max had finally left the room. It wasn’t an isolated incident as well, building up across many miniature incidents.
The most shocking part, though, was the fact you’d been told the biggest kingpin in the Netherlands had a child. You would’ve laughed in the face of the person telling you before, but now it felt realer than it had been for the last couple weeks.
You gently cradled the baby in your arm, rocking her lightly as you looked out the door ajar to the hall. You could hear the guard grumbling in discontent as they went about their business, yet none of the commotion had bothered Elle.
She had finally fallen asleep in your arms, gripping onto your finger as you put her down, a strong sense of familiarity washing over you.
You spent a good part of your time caring for children, as this was no different to you.
Letting go of the crib, you steeled your nerves to walk out the room, arms crossed in front of your protectively as you eyed the men in the hall.
One of the guards, Daniel, held you back gently by the shoulder, looking at you with curious eyes. This was probably one of the more rare times seeing you, it was like you’d never left the nursery from the moment you got here.
“You can’t-”
“He kidnapped me from my own home Daniel. I don’t think he has a right to keep me from going wherever I want in his house.” You snapped, surprised at how hoarse your voice seemed.
He didn’t fight you, simply nodding and slinking back to his spot because there wasn’t much he could do to convince you to stay.
You could easily recall your steps to the kitchen, the heat in your feet dispelled by the cold tiles as you entered.
You didn’t know how long you were there, standing blankly at the sink as the water continued to fill up in the glass.
The glass was overfilling and you watched it, hands clenched into fists before you released them entirely, weight rolling off your shoulders.
The sound of a door slamming snapped you out of your stupor, turning off the sink and staring into the dimly illuminated living room.
Max came through the door, blood staining his shirt and face, dirt smudge across his nose and cheeks. He noticed you, a look of disparagement in his eyes as he got closer. Looking into his eyes, it really reminded you of Elle.
He ignored you as he limped into the kitchen, opening a cabinet with more gentleness than you’d seen in days.
“I thought I told you not to leave her alone?” He said, voice scratchy and low as if he’d been screaming.
“She’s finally asleep.”
You responded. He didn’t bother to critize you again, popping open the bottle of whisky and pouring it into a glass.
He limped back to the living room, settling into an armchair with his back to the cityline. He looked almost formidable as the harsh shadows cast lines on his face.
“You sure have a way of showing you care, Max.”
“I know you aren’t criticizing me now, schat.” He laughed humorlessly, sending shivers down your spine.
“Oh yeah, because kidnapping someone to take care of your child really says you love them.” You snarked, eyes trailing to his sides.
There were minor tears when you hadn’t seen his shirt before he left, heart beating loudly as you got a glimpse of his bloodied side as he pushed himself up.
“What happened to you?”
“What do you think happened?” He said, rolling his eyes as he lowered the glass from his lips.
“Well, this isn’t healthy. For you or Elle.” You said wearily, finger tracing the rim of the glass. “Have you ever considered therapy? It might-“
“No.”
You blinked, surprised by his sudden refusal. “Why not?”
“I can’t. Do you know the kind of risk that poses?” He grumbled, clearly offended at you for suggesting so.
“Okay then, sure would’ve been better if you’d kidnapped a therapist rather than an underpaid nurse to do that job for you. Secrecy and all.”
“That’s how you want to play then? I’ll give you the money, then leave this place and never come back, if you’re that desperate.” He gritted through clenched teeth, temper clearly being dialed up by the reminder.
“What? Absolutely not.” It was your turn to reject his offer, staring at him blankly. You didn’t know why that made you feel so upset.
“I’m offering you money and allowing you to leave, what more could you want, schat?” He scoffed, sharply putting down the whiskey glass as he held his head in the other hand.
“I can't just leave her like that, you know that as well as I do.” He remained silent, which you took as permission to get closer to him.
He didn’t protest as you leaned over, yet flinched slightly as you pulled his shirt up.
“Calm down, if I had any intention of hurting you, you’d know.” You rolled your eyes, turning up the light a little more so you could see the full extent of his wounds.
“I don’t think it’s necessary-“
You cut him off with a sharp inhale. The other miniature wounds stared back at you, barely cuts compared to the jagged scar that ran down his side. “When did this happen?” You whispered.
He slammed his glass down again and you flinched back, split seconds before you could look him in the eyes again. They were slightly sorrowful, but otherwise empty, where there had been every negative emotion a human could muster moments before.
“It was my dad.”
“Did he…” You didn’t finish the sentence, swallowing your doubts as you stared at it.
“Yes. It was in a fight. He won, obviously.” He answered, short and clipped as his posture dropped slightly.
“Is this why you don’t want Elle? Because you don’t want her to go through-” You asked meekly, cut off almost instantly. “The old man is dead. I killed him myself, made sure he couldn’t lay a single hand on anyone else.” Max hissed, a few beats passing in between the both of you.
“Do you know anything about her mother maybe? I could probably pull together something if-”
“She’s dead.”
You blinked, mouth gaping slightly.
“She was a prostitute. Most likely gone from all the drugs up her system by now. That’s why I needed you. Our old doctor… left his position early.”
You watched him get up from his spot, clearly done with the conversation, but something about what he said seemed to strike a chord in you.
“So you brought me to make sure-“
“The baby wasn’t affected. You weren’t a doctor but you did just fine I suppose.” He finished, back to you and he poured himself another one.
“Max, do you know what a Nightingale oath is?”
“Een nacht wat (a night what)?” You continued on, though you had a feeling you knew what he said.
“It’s an oath some of us take. To protect and to serve.”
You got up, feet pattering against the ground as you got closer to him.
“I don’t think anyone really abides by it anymore-“ He let out a short laugh, clearly unbelieving of your words as you continued, “-but maybe, just maybe, that’s why I haven’t gone home just yet.”
“Are you sure you want this Y/n? When you could just as easily leave and go home now?” He muttered softly, hunched over the countertop as your hand met his back.
“I’m sure. You need the help Max. You can’t deny it.”
“Then so be it nachtegaal. I can’t stop you when you’ve made up your mind.” He murmured, steely blue eyes meeting your own as he held your gaze.
“Maybe, once you’re well enough, you can finally form some connection to the child.” You sighed, looking at him. “I promise it.”
“You’re very confident in this plan of yours.”
You smiled inwardly at his words. “Why else would I be here if I wasn’t?”

You are in a relationship with Minho, one of the most powerful and feared mafia leaders in Seoul, someone everyone knew never to mess with or lie to which was why you hadn't been surprised when your nurse who was treated you told him where you were.
"Traitor." You whispered to her as you saw his car pulling up in the parking lot. She smirked over at you and shook her head. She, along with everyone else who worked for Minho, had known you a long time.
Your history with Minho ran deep—you were once his top operative, known for your flawless execution of missions and unmatched skill in the field. You'd trained every single day alongside some of the best of the best in the business and you were incredible. Not to toot your own horn anything but you were.
There wasn’t a single task you couldn’t handle, earning you a reputation that made even the most hardened criminals wary of crossing paths with you.
"You knew he was going to find out anyway. I did you a favour." The nurse teased as you rolled your eyes at her playfully. It wasn't anything major. In fact, you felt stupid for it to have even happened in the first place.
You'd been caught completely off guard and left exposed to something that shouldn't have even happened.
"It's stupid, I wasn't even paying attention." You grumbled more at yourself than the nurse who was with you. But you hated it. How could you have missed something like this? Minho trusted you to be alone without a guard and now you knew that was never going to happen again.
You'd been out in town all morning, taking a rare moment to unwind in town, deciding to treat yourself at the spa and then at the local stores to some new clothes or some books if you'd seen any. But you'd only just left the spar when out of nowhere, you were ambushed by an assailant with a clear intent to kill.
Though you fought - and incredibly might you add - and managed to eliminate your attacker, you weren’t unscathed. A deep stab wound in your side left you bleeding profusely. The pain had been nearly overwhelming as you'd struggled to stay conscious on the way to the hospital, it was wishful thinking that you could hide it from Minho. The man saw you naked every single night, if you'd somehow managed to hide it from him while your scar healed you'd have a hell of a lot of explaining to do for the new scar when you eventually got naked in front of him again.
"Everyone has an off day," The nurse reminded you as she applied some cream to your stitches, eventually covering it with a bandage as you sighed a little. All you wanted was to go home and pretend the day hadn't even happened.
"But not everyone's off day is going to lead to them needing an armed guard at all times," You smiled at her and she bit her lip softly and nodded in understanding. As you lay back on the bed, trying to process everything that happened, the door burst open with a loud bang and you watched it vibrate off the wall. Minho, your stoic and usually composed former boss and now current boyfriend, storms in with a frantic look on his face. His eyes, usually so cold and calculating, are now wide with panic.
“Are you okay?! I heard what happened...” His voice cracks slightly as he hurries to your bedside, his usual air of control slipping away. Normally he was well put together and didn't show any kind of emotion since they were usually held against him but with you, he always let them out.
"Minho, don't make this a big thing." You laugh weakly but he shakes his head at you. You knew asking him not to make a big deal with a lost cause but you'd figured you'd try anyway. Within a second he was on his knees next to you, his hands trembling slightly as he reached for yours, his gaze scanning your bandaged wound with a mixture of fear and fury. The thought of losing you had him on edge, his usual cold demeanour shattered by the raw emotion he feels for you.
Minho glances up at the nurse, his voice laced with tension. The whole way over he'd been panicking about what he was supposed to do now, he'd already called his guys to arrange protection for you.
“What’s her condition? How long until she’s fully recovered? Are you sure she’s getting the best care?” He peppers the nurse with questions, his usual calm replaced with a sense of urgency. Your nurse opened her mouth to speak but was quickly cut off as he pointed to the IV that was inserted into your arm,
“And those painkillers—are they strong enough? I don’t want her in any more pain. Is she going to need to stay overnight?” You stroked his hand gently, the small act calming him down within seconds but you could still see just how on edge he was with this whole thing and you nodded at your nurse.
“She’s stable now, sir. The wound was deep, but she was strong. With rest and proper care, she’ll be okay, she should be able to go home as soon as this round of painkillers is done with.” Minho’s gaze flickers back to you, his expression softening as he takes your hand and squeezes it softly.
“You hear that? You’re going to be okay,” he says, more to himself than to you, as if he needs the reassurance just as much. He placed his lips on top of your hand and kissed softly before shaking his head at you,
"Minho-" You tried to warn but you were quickly cut off,
“But this… this can’t happen again.” He pointed at your wound before leaning in closer, his thumb gently stroking the back of your hand and smiling weakly. There was no way he was going to ever let anything happen to you for as long as he lived.
“From now on, you’re getting extra protection every time you step out. I don’t care if it’s just for a walk or to grab a coffee—you’ll have backup, no exceptions.” His tone leaves no room for argument, the fear of losing you still evident in his eyes. It was going to be pointless arguing with a man who was set in his ways as much as Minho was when it came to your safety,
“I can’t risk anything happening to you again. Not when you mean this much to me.” He whispered, the nurse excused herself once his men began to gather in the room. All of them watched Minho with a smile on their faces. You were the only one that had ever been able to pull any kind of emotions out of their scary boss,
"Is the hospital floor secure?"
"You did not kick anyone out, right?!" You screech at your boyfriend who looks at you with a nervous smile tugging on the corners of his lips.
"If I say no, it won't be a lie...technically
"Minho-" You hiss at him but he shakes his head at you, it wasn't as if he'd thrown them out of the hospital. He'd merely paid everyone to be moved quickly.
"I moved them to different floors," he shrugged at you before you scoffed and nudged his shoulder. You'd have been perfectly fine without him moving anybody.
"I don't need protection from a bunch of old people."
"I don't care," He mumbles, looking at you and then kissing your cheek softly as you playfully scolded him for being so damn overprotective.
"I can't lose you, Yn...I just can't." He finally whispered as you pulled him to sit on the bed with you, your head resting on his shoulder. His men quickly filtered out of the room leaving you alone again.
He’s quiet for a moment, just resting his chin on top of your head, his fingers tracing soothing circles on your arm as he tries to think of something to say to you.
Finally, he breaks the silence, his voice low and heavy with emotion. It had been hard for him when he'd heard the news of the attack, he'd gone into overprotective mode within seconds,
“I can’t lose you. I just… I can’t,” he whispers, the words almost a confession.
“When I heard what happened, it felt like the ground was ripped out from under me. I’ve always been in control, always knew how to handle things… but when it comes to you…” He trails off, his grip on you tightening slightly as if he’s afraid you’ll slip away from him. You can feel the tremor in his voice, the raw vulnerability he rarely shows.
“I’ve lost people before, but you… losing you would destroy me. I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you.” You lift your head slightly, your eyes meeting his. The depth of his fear is written all over his face, the tough exterior he usually wears stripped away in this moment. You reach up, cupping his cheek in your hand, your thumb brushing away a tear he didn’t even realize had fallen.
“You won’t lose me, Minho,” you say softly, your voice filled with sincerity.
“I’m not going anywhere. I promise you, you’ll never lose me.”
His eyes search yours as if he’s trying to believe it, trying to let your words sink in. Finally, he exhales a shaky breath and presses his forehead against yours.
“I’m holding you to that,” he murmurs, his voice a little steadier now, but still tinged with the lingering fear of what could have been.
“Because I can’t… I won’t let you go.” He promised you as you nodded at him, cuddling into him softly.
"I'm not going anywhere," You whispered to him, closing your eyes as you laid your head on his chest.

Seat Belts Save Lives
Sam and Dean Winchester & little sister!reader
Requested by Anonymous
Synopsis: You and your brothers get into a car accident, and Dean blames himself.
“Would you put your seatbelt on?”
You rolled your eyes at Sam’s demand and ignored him.
“You know that’s not safe.”
“Eh, leave her be Sammy,” Dean cut in. “We’ve got a long drive, if she wants to lay out back there let her. She should get some sleep anyway.”
You resisted the urge to stick your tongue out at Sam as you made yourself comfortable in the back.
“Whatever,” Sam grumbled, reaching for the radio.
“Excuse me?” Dean scoffed as he slapped Sam’s hand away. “You don’t get to change my station, you know the rules, Sammy.”
“They’ve played the same song four times in a row, Dean. I figured you didn’t notice, so I’d give you a hand.”
“I noticed,” Dean said defensively. “I like this song.”
“So did I,” Sam huffed. “But that was before—Dean, watch out! Hey—“
Sam reached over to jerk the steering wheel, but it was too late. The car that had appeared seemingly out of nowhere—on the wrong side of the road—slammed into the side of the Impala. You felt your body leave the seat, your head slamming into the back of Dean’s seat.
And then it all went black.
You awoke to the sound of Dean calling your name. Your head felt heavy, your ears were ringing, and the world seemed fuzzy for a few minutes before your head cleared. Once it did, you wished it didn’t.
Your head was pounding, and slick, sticky red was oozing out of a cut on your leg and your head. Your body felt like it was on fire, and when you craned your neck painfully you saw why. Along with the bleeding cuts, your wrist was twisted at a strange angle, and the Impala’s door was dented in, pinning you down so that you couldn’t even feel your legs, much less move them.
“Y/N.” You could hear the sigh of relief in Sam’s voice, coming from near your head. “Dean, her eyes are open.”
“Ok baby.” Dean’s voice came from down by your feet, on the right side of the car. “I’m gonna lift the door up, and Sammy’s gonna pull you out. I need you to brace yourself, this is gonna hurt.”
“Ok,” you whimpered, your hands beginning to shake.
“Alright, I’ve got her,” Sam told Dean, grabbing hold of you under your arms and preparing to pull you out.
“Alright. One…two…” Dean grunted at three as he lifted the door. The change in pressure sent pain shooting up your legs, and you screamed as Sam pulled you free of the car.
“I know, I know honey.” Sam collapsed in the dirt next to the Impala, hugging you to his chest as you cried. “It’s over.”
The pain refused to subside, and within seconds you gave into the dark that overtook your vision.
…
“She’s unconscious,” Sam said as Dean knelt next to his two younger siblings.
“The ambulance is on the way.”
“Dean, she’s lost a lot of blood.”
“She’ll be fine,” Dean insisted. “She’s gonna be just fine.”
…
“Is she ok? What’s going on in there?”
“She’s still unconscious,” the nurse told Sam. “We’ve finished stitching her wounds, and we’re prepping for a blood transfusion, but her blood type is hard to find.”
“Me, use me,” Dean spoke up. “We have the same type.”
“I’m afraid you’ve lost a lot of blood, too,” The nurse responded. “We can’t risk—“
“I don’t care about the risk!” Dean barked. “Use my blood!”
“I—um…” the nurse seemed unsure how to respond. “Let me talk to the doctor.”
As soon as she was gone, Sam turned to his big brother. “Dean, you shouldn’t—“
“I have to. She could die, do you get that? I have to do this.”
“They can find someone else, I’m sure—“
“You don’t get it, Sam,” Dean sighed.
Sam was angry. “Don’t get it? What could I possibly not get about this, Dean?”
Dean was silent for a long moment before he spoke.
“I told her not to wear her seat belt.”
…
You awoke to an annoying beeping to your right, and a sharp antiseptic smell hanging in the air. You blinked your eyes open, trying to adjust to the too-bright lights. Once you had, you caught sight of Sam sleeping in a chair to your right. You turned to the other side to see Dean sitting at an uncomfortable angle in an even more uncomfortable chair, his head drooping and your hand clutched in his.
When you squeezed his hand, his head popped up.
“Hey baby,” he breathed, a grin splitting his face. “How do you feel?”
“My head hurts.” You were used to ‘sucking it up’ as Sam and Dean did, saying you were fine as long as nothing was broken. But you didn’t have the energy to lie right now; it hurt, and all you wanted was your big brother to baby you and make it feel better.
“I’m sorry.” Dean reached up his free hand and brushed your hair away from your face. “Baby I’m so sorry.”
“It’s not your fault,” you said. “That guy came out of nowhere.”
Dean was about to respond, but stopped when Sam started to stir.
“Hey,” Sam grinned when he saw you awake. “You ok?”
“Been better.” You smiled weakly.
“The doc said you two can leave tomorrow,” Sam said.
“The two of us?” Your eyes turned back to Dean. “You’re hurt?”
“He didn’t get hurt that bad in the crash,” Sam interjected before Dean could speak. “But he lost some blood, and then he gave you some. Docs say he needs bed rest.”
“Which is ridiculous,” Dean scoffed. “I’m fine.”
“You gave blood after getting injured? Dean, are you nuts?”
“Hey, it’s not my fault you got rare blood.” Dean tried to deflect with a joking smile.
“Dean.” You remained serious.
“Look,” Dean sighed. “You needed blood, I gave you some blood, it’s not a big deal.”
“You can’t just—“
“I don’t want to talk about it, alright?” Dean insisted. “We’re all ok. That’s all that matters. Now get some rest, ok?”
You said nothing, and Dean’s words made you finally realize just how tired you felt.
Sam leaned over and kissed your head before leaning back in his chair, but Dean stayed right next to you, your hand gripped in his. You felt yourself slowly slipping back into sleep, but just before you gave in to your exhaustion, you heard Dean whisper to you—
“I’m sorry. I’m never gonna let anything like this happen again.”

to be loved — carlos sainz
carlos sainz x you — “i can take care of you. you won't need anyone but me.” requested by @dancininseptember masterlist
The short stroll from your office to the apartment never really bothered you. In fact, you typically enjoyed the fresh air and the chance to enjoy the city you loved. But it was early February; rain was threatening the Spanish skies and the frost bitten breeze stung your already tear-filled eyes. It was a crappy end to an even shittier week, your energy wasted on people who didn’t deserve it.
You practically flung yourself through the door of the apartment and shed all remnants of the day – coat, beanie and scarf, all strewn haphazardly, and in that order, on the floor of your small entryway. It took every ounce of energy you had to kick off your heavy boots, each one hitting the wall much harder than you intended. Maybe it was an unconscious way for you to let out frustration, the scuff marks on the white wall a stark reminder of your last straw.
The smell of fresh bread and bolognese sauce hit you as you slunk down the hallway, your tummy grumbling on instinct. You hadn’t eaten since yesterday, a terrible habit you had fallen into lately and Carlos had noticed. He was home more during the cooler months, easily picking up on your little habits that both endeared and worried him. So he made sure, while he was close to you, that you came home to a warm meal every night – because looking after you was his calling in life.
“That smells incredible.”
Carlos briefly glanced over his shoulder and gave you a bright smile before turning down the stove and grabbing a washcloth to clean his hands. You loved him like this; soft and relaxed, in his element. The kitchen was his playground and you remember the sigh of relief that left your lungs when he told you he loved to cook on your first date, because you weren’t particularly gifted when it came to the pots and pans.
“Hope you’re hungry,” He sang, circling the island in the middle of the kitchen to say a proper hello to his beautiful girlfriend, “How was your day?”
A rigid sigh fell from your lips as you fell into his arms, the loving embrace triggering tears to spring to your eyes for the third time today. Carlos held you tight and brushed his hands down your back, comforting you through the sobs wracking your aching body.
“Ay, mi amor,” He soothed, “Breathe for me please.”
Carlos guided you through a couple of deep breaths, chests rising and falling together in synchronicity until your sobs subsided, air finally filling your lungs again. A tight squeeze around your waist brought you back to the man holding you in his arms, worried eyes searching yours for a sign that you were okay as you pulled back and gave him a soft smile.
“I’m okay, I’m sorry.” You sniffled, head shaking.
Carlos tutted as he thumbed away the trail of tears from your face, “Do not say sorry, my love. Talk to me…”
Anger replaced sadness as you told him about how your sister had completely disregarded your feelings for the millionth time, accusing you of only caring about yourself while she’s all alone and stressed about wedding planning. Carlos has managed to get you to sit up on the counter beside him while he finished dinner, but not before pouring you a glass of red wine to nurse while you purged all the negativity from your day.
“She called me a bitch and then uninvited us from the wedding, which by the way I didn’t want to go too to begin with,” You huffed, hands animatedly flying around while he tried to keep up with the drama.
“And all I said to her was that work has been stressful and that us trying for a baby hadn’t been… fruitful, I guess. She flipped out when I said that because her dickhead fiancé doesn’t want kids and she thinks she can change his mind…”
You took a sip of wine and noticed Carlos' eyes rolling like they always did when the topic of your sister came up. He was as sick of her shit as you were, unapologetically scoffing at her selfishness. Making you feel bad when all you needed was someone to confide in was one thing, but lashing out on you was something he couldn’t stand by and watch. He knew he couldn’t do anything right now; maybe he would make a stern phone call tomorrow once the dust had settled.
So instead of getting upset, he put down the wooden spoon coated in the most delicious sauce you had ever tasted and nestled himself between your swinging legs. His warm chocolate eyes stared into your soul as he planted his palms on your thighs, tethering himself to you.
“You know I can take care of you, mi vida,” He said, voice deep and barely above a whisper, “No matter the problem, you won't need anyone but me, I promise.”
For the first time in weeks, you felt your heart slow down and return to a normal rhythm as Carlos pressed a sweet kiss to your lips. You softly moaned in unison and gripped the grey shirt hanging loosely from his shoulders, pulling him in closer – not that he had any plan on going anywhere.
No, all he wanted was for his girl to feel heard and to be loved because all he needed was you.

"Come on, Honey, won't you teach me a few things?" The woman purs glancing at the chef
"Who am I to say no to a lady? Ya have to hold it this way Darlin'," Thatch explains with a smile, positioning himself behind the woman and guiding her hand to cut the ingredients before her properly.
"Would you look at that?" she grins, marveling at her job.
"Normally, we would now add sugar, but that ain't necessary with ya here."
"Oh?" She grins, looking up at him at his remark
"Well, I would say they are getting along quite well, no?" Dokucha grins, looking at the cooking couple
"It seems they aren't the only ones," Ace says, gesturing to Vista, who is in a similar situation with another opposing crew member.
"Well. I am glad everyone is enjoying their time, but that's enough about it. What about you, Ace? I have not seen you in a while; have you kept contact with your brothers?" she asked, looking down at him.
"I have; Luffy is currently training off with Silvers Rayleigh."
"Rayleigh? Now, that is a name I haven't heard in a while; how come you didn't tell me about that, Darling?" She said, turning to the man behind her
"Never came up," he grumbled
as he downed another chug of the sake in his hand, glaring at her as she swiped it off his hands
"Never came up my ass, and What have I told you about drinking so much, you idiot?!" she growls.
"Shut up, you damn hag"
"Is that how you treat your wife? Not to mention the one who is currently treating you?! Marco, has he kept this up when I am not around?"
"Every minute Gran, pops won't listen to what the nurses and I tell him."
"Is that so?" She said, turning to the man who looked away from her, mumbling curses both towards her and his oldest son
"What was that, you old man?" She sneered, a dark aura surrounding her as she glared at him
"You're going to teach my girls the wrong thing; they are still young and impressionable."
"Uh, Should we do something about it?" One of the newer recruits asked as he glanced at the two giants bickering
"Leave them be. This is normal for them-yoi."
"Besides, Pops deserves a hard time after all the hard times he has given me and the nurses." Marco shrugged as he sipped more of his beer
"Why are you so stubborn?" She says, shaking her head
"I swear you are getting too old to be this stubborn."
"I didn't even know Pops was married," he mutters, getting the older woman's attention.
"Hmm? Edward, when did you get new recruits?" she questioned
"A few weeks ago."
"Ah, look at you, deary, you are all but covered in scratches and sand. You are thinner than a twig!" She fussed, looking down at the young man
"Ah, I-uh, I was left stranded for a few months; Pops rescued me."
"That does sound like him, Edward. When you adopt more sons, you have to tend to them," she sighed, handing the young man a bowl of food.
"Make sure you eat well, yeah? Can't fight if you have no energy."
The man grabs the bowls slowly, slightly confused.
"T-thank you, ma'am."
"No need for that, you can call me Gran, though if it makes you uncomtable, you can continue calling me that" she told him sending him a hearwarming smile as she turned towards her husband again.
"She's an angel," he muttered, turning around at the snickers of Ace.
"Quite the contrast, right? She and Pops"
"How come they aren't on the same crew?" he questioned, looking at the two.
"Hmm? Ah, Gran and Gramps both formed their crews long ago; when they got together, they didn't want to disturb the dynamic they had already built-yoi," he explained.
"Was that it?" Ace questioned, shoveling down food
"That and he said he didn't trust us to keep it in our pants-yoi," he added, much to the latter's shock, causing him to spit out the food.
"What?!"

Loser Simon
Tw: he is really pathetic, choking, stalking, masturbation, unprotected sex, baby trapping, micro penis,
A/N: credits to @dumbbitchgalore got inspired by her Pathetic Price fic
The light flickered in the dirty bathroom stall of the pub he went to after Price said they needed to celebrate their win. Well, it was his win; the others were just there. He had every reason to be cocky today. He was a handsome bloke with big muscles and perfect at his job. So when that bird approached him at the pub, which Johnny had eyed for hours, he thought, "Fuck it," and went with her into the dirty pub toilet.
His self-confidence struck again, too high. He should know by now what was about to happen when she removed his jeans, revealing his small member in contrast to his big size. Most of the time, the women or men started to laugh at him before they left. Some hoped he was a grower—he wasn’t. The worst was when a woman finally managed not to laugh, and he came in her face before she even put her lips on him. To a certain degree, he knew he was pathetic, but his confidence always got in his way, so he tried again and again, with the same result.
His sloppy lips licked hers, eager for her to grant his long tongue entrance. His big hands massaged the soft flesh of her ass before she went down on her knees, fighting with his belt. She was so eager, expecting the biggest dick she had ever seen from the 6’4" man. Unfortunately for Simon, she started to laugh when she saw his tiny package standing proud and already leaking precum like a faucet. "That's a joke," she said and just didn’t stop laughing at him, making him lose his cool. He wrapped his calloused hands around her delicate throat. He knew he wouldn’t kill her—he wasn’t a psychopath, after all. "If you tell anyone, I’ll fucking kill you," he threatened. Her laughing stopped and turned to an expression of pure fear as she nodded to keep his small secret.
"That was fast, mate," Gaz mentioned as Ghost returned to their booth.
"That bird was into crazy shit, and I don’t dip my dick in crazy," he replied, getting an approving nod from Price and Gaz, who had their fair share of crazy women over the years. But only Johnny raised his brow suspiciously. He always knew something was wrong with the Lt's sex life—not that he minded, but it was suspicious.
Price didn’t flirt with birds since he was still obsessed with his ex-wife, comparing every woman to Mrs. Price, who he cheated on in a moment of weakness. Kyle didn’t flirt with the girls or boys in the pub since he had a friends-with-benefits thing with you, the most beautiful nurse on base. Poor Kyle fell for you in that act. He himself flirted with every above-average attractive lad or lass who went into the pub, but Ghost—he never had a girl at home, and all the girls he took with him for fun returned minutes later with a traumatized look on their faces. Johnny was pretty sure the Lt was into some kinky stuff or was one of those guys who busted their load way too fast. He just knew something was wrong.
----------------------------
He had half a mind to go to the brothel for his birthday to finally get over his fucking virginity. They were paid to do it, so they wouldn’t turn him down or laugh at him. His plans changed quickly when he saw you in front of his barrack, holding a cupcake with a candle in it, telling him "Happy Birthday" with that beautiful smile of yours. He really wanted to say thank you, but instead, he just looked at you and grumbled. You tried to lighten the mood by telling him you baked it yourself and that it was red velvet.
"How do you know I like red velvet?"
"You always choose red velvet over any other flavor when there are cookies in the mess hall," your eyes still shined as you held the delicious treat under his nose. He grabbed it without even saying a simple thank you and closed the door. Well, Kyle told you, you shouldn’t bring him something for his birthday. The Lt was weird and mean, was all he said. You should be happy if he didn’t spit in your face after trying your treats.
Kyle’s warning was fair. You shouldn’t have baked for the Lt—not because of his rude gestures. You just should never feed a stray dog, or it gets attached to you. And having that big broody Lieutenant attached to you was a death sentence you weren’t prepared for.
-------------------------------------------------------
Ghost knew he wasn’t a particularly good human, never was, and never would be. But right now, he felt like the worst human alive. Ever since you gave him that sweet treat, he was obsessed with you. It started innocently—he wanted to find out your name, your dislikes, your friends. It went a bit too far when he knew your blood type, bra size, and social security number. But that happens, okay? You need to forgive him for being so eager. It’s romantic, after all—or at least, that’s what he told himself.
But now he stood in your room while you were roaming around the base, his small dick in one hand and a pair of your used panties he nicked from the laundry bin in the other. The images of you weren’t enough anymore. He needed the real thing—needed to smell and taste you, finally make you his.
Your panties smelled so good to him. All thoughts of getting a prostitute flushed away. You’d be the one to take his virginity. You’re way too sweet to laugh at him. You’ll take him and love him—all his selfishness, the killing—you won’t care. You will love him just like he loves you.
Something was different. Your friends called you paranoid, but you couldn’t be. For a month, no guy hit on you, Kyle broke off your fuck buddy arrangement—god, you missed his dick—no CO yelled at you, you lost at least 20 pairs of your panties. Your pillow smelled weirdly no matter how often you washed it or even replaced it. Your shampoos and perfumes went empty. You were probably going crazy. Your friends were right.
You were already putting on your pajamas when the door rang. To your surprise, the Lieutenant stood in front of you. "We’re going on a date."
"Uh, how about you ask me first?" you argued. It wasn’t as if you didn’t want to—everyone around the base had a crush on him, and you kind of did too. But still, he could have asked.
He didn’t even answer and gave you a big bag. "In 30 minutes outside."
You went inside and opened the bag. To say you were shocked was an understatement of the year. Inside the bag was the black dress you eyed in the mall a month ago in your size, the YSL heels you pinned on Pinterest, and even a set of Victoria's Secret underwear. How did he know all this stuff? Maybe Kyle told him your size, you thought. And who are you to complain about free YSL heels?
The date was interesting. Simon—how you should call him from now on—didn’t talk much, but he was a good listener. He looked even hotter without the mask and paid for the bill without even a blink. If he had talked, it would have been the best date of your life.
Back at the base, he pushed you against the wall, claiming your mouth as his. Everything about him was big and clumsy. You tried to teach him that your nipples weren’t a trigger on a gun, and he was at least eager to learn—that’s more than you’d expect from most of your Tinder dates.
You were surprised when you pulled his dick out from his pants, and he wasn’t as big as everyone thought he would be. But hey, that’s okay. At least it wouldn’t hurt, you thought, as you slowly glided your cunt on his leaking cock. The sounds Simon made were heavenly—he didn’t hold back like other men. He was moaning and whimpering while you bounced on his dick, his heavy balls slapping against your ass.
His thick fingers drew circles around your clit, pulling moans from you. He was so attentive, focusing on your needs, and fuck, everything his dick lacked, his fingers could give you.
"Oh God, Simon," you whimpered as he increased the speed of his thick digits circling your pearl like no one ever did before. Making you cum wasn’t a side quest for him—it was everything that mattered right now.
"So good for me, Babygirl. Fuck, show me how much you love being filled out by me." Your cunt started to clench around him when he used that commanding voice on you. It didn’t take much for Simon to finally bust his load inside of you, heavy balls being emptied as you milked him for all he was worth.
"I love you, Babygirl," was all he muttered. You would have run away if you weren’t in an orgasmic bliss.
He was incredibly proud of himself for how long he lasted, and that you didn’t notice how he came in his pants after you kissed him for the first time. That could happen, okay?
Simon caressed your hair while you lay on top of his strong body. He was 1000% sure that he was going to marry you. You took his dick without laughing, and you’re so sweet. He should teach you to get rid of your naivety tho. Having sex without condoms on the first date—really, sweetheart? As if your sugar pills could prevent him from knocking you up.

Love Thy Neighbor- pt 8
Part 1. Part 2. Part 3. Part 4. Part 5. Part 6. Part 7.
Summary: Melissa is worth it. You know that now.
WC: ~2.2k
“You sleeped without me?!” your daughter looks absolutely enraged, and her voice cracks as she screeches out her question.
“Slept,” the two of you correct quietly.
“I don’t care about your stupid grammar, Momma!” she stomps her foot. “You cuddled with Miss Mel all night while I didn’t! That’s so rude of you, Momma!” She storms out of the room before you can get another word in.
You exhale deeply before throwing the blankets off of you. “I guess I should go talk to her.”
“How’re you feeling?” the redhead asks you quietly. She presses a gentle kiss to your hairline.
“Better,” you tell her honestly. “Not one hundred percent, but I can work today I think.”
She nods before letting you get out of bed. While you expect her to also get out of bed and head for her own apartment to get ready for the school day ahead of all three of you, she follows you into Ellie’s room. Your little girl has thrown herself dramatically on her bed and is sobbing hysterically.
“Oh, good lord,” you grumble to yourself before making your way over to her bed. You pull her into your lap and start rocking back and forth slightly in attempts to soothe her. “Sweet girl, Miss Mel was just helping to take care of me while I was sick. That’s all it was.”
She looks up at you with those big, sweet eyes of hers, tears still streaming down her face. “But you were snuggling without me while I was all alone!”
“Because you were already asleep in bed, hun,” Melissa lays a gentle hand on her back and starts rubbing in small slow circles. “And I was just trying to make sure that your momma was okay after being sick all day.”
Ellie starts crying even harder at that. The two of you look at each other, beyond confused. You thought telling her that Melissa was just taking care of you would help to placate those big feelings she’s having right now.
“Sweetness,” you whisper as you press a kiss to her head. “What’s the matter, my little love?”
Your daughter hiccups out a sob as she looks to her bedside table. You immediately see where her eyes land: on the framed picture of your now broken family. “Daddy used to take care of you when you were sick!”
Your heart breaks in your chest- you know how hard this has been on her, even if she usually is such a happy-go-lucky kind of kid.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath, also trying not to get too upset at her words- because she’s right. Jared used to be so good at taking care of you when you weren’t feeling yourself. You’re quickly brought back to the times when you were pregnant with Ellie, and he was the most doting man that you had ever seen when it came to making sure you were as comfortable as you could be. He had bought various teas to help with the morning sickness, sat with you while you did succumb to the morning sickness, held you during times where you just didn’t feel like you anymore because of your growing and changing body, massaged away a lot of the pain you felt in the later months, and then… when you were in labor with Ellie, the nurses had told him that he was one of the most supportive fathers they had ever seen. But now that was gone. You shake your head and also your thoughts.
“I know, baby,” you whisper, voice cracking just barely. A tear falls down your own cheek. “I know.”
You feel the bed dip under Melissa as she sits down too, and then there’s a warm arm around your waist and the gentlest thumb brushing away your tear. “I’ll leave the two of you, but let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.”
“Stay,” Ellie whimpers. “Please. Please, Miss Mel. Momma and I need you.”
Today, both of you take a half day. Ellie needs all of the love and care that she can get in this fragile state of hers. So you two simply just hold her as the world slowly passes around you. The morning is spent with all of you making a deliciously sleepy breakfast, basking in the warm spring sunlight and air on your back porch. You and Melissa let the warmth of your tea soothe your souls while Ellie quietly sips from her cup of milk before relaxing back into your hold. You let her blow bubbles and dance around through them without a care in the world as you watch. You even go and grab your guitar from the living room before beginning to strum it softly as you let the music take you to another world. You quietly sing the song that your little girl owns- ‘You Are My Sunshine- before shifting to ‘Here Comes The Sun’.
You remember the many times that Jared would sit there and blow as many bubbles as your little girl wanted while she danced through them and popped them, the sweetest little baby giggles erupting from her sweet, sweet soul while music passed through your own. You remember the way that Jared used to watch you and Ellie with such wonder.
But now, you think that those times might be replaced with the warm, soft mornings and days filled with you and the redhead sitting with you hip to hip and just letting the world pass by as you watch the many bubbles fly through the air in such a carefree way. Those old times might be replaced with a beautiful woman who is looking at the two of you like you’re hanging the stars, the sun, and the moon as the sunlight hits her face and hair perfectly to make her look like an angel.
When you walk into the staffroom, Ellie on your hip and clutching a stuffed animal, your coworkers smile at the three of you softly.
“Feelin’ better?” Janine asks Ellie gently. Your little girl nods before tucking her chin into your neck.
“We needed the morning to collect ourselves,” you sigh as you sit down. You thank God that your half-day coincided with lunch, so you have an extra thirty minutes to ground yourself before walking into your classroom. Ellie clearly needs it too as she clings to you for most of the lunch period.
“Alright, little girl,” you whisper when it’s time to go collect your kids. “Time to go spend the afternoon with Mrs. Howard.”
Ellie eyes her teacher before shaking her head and trying to bury herself in your jacket.
“My love, I have to go pick up my kids and teach,” you tell her. “I’m sure Mrs. Howard has a fun afternoon planned, and she wants you to join her.”
Barbara nods and smiles at the six year old, but she still continues to cling.
“Why don’t you walk her down, and I can pick up our kids?” Melissa suggests. Ellie quite likes that idea, so you nod.
“Thank you,” you whisper, setting a gentle hand on her shoulder and squeezing it. You head out with Ellie while the others begin to make their way down to the cafeteria to collect the students.
“So… you had a half day the same day as Y/N?” Barbara raises a brow.
Melissa shrugs. “Ellie needed some extra love this morning.”
“Are you sure nothin’s going on between you and Y/N?” the kindergarten teacher asks.
Melissa smirks. “I won’t say there isn’t nothin’, but there isn’t somethin’ yet either. You know?”
“She’s worth it?” Barbara asks gently.
Without hesitation, the second grade teacher nods. “She’s worth the world, Barb. I plan on giving it to her if she’ll let me.”
“Good,” the kindergarten teacher smiles. “It’s about time you put yourself out there again. And she’s a good one.”
“Her and Ellie have me wrapped around their fingers,” Melissa sighs with a soft shake of her head. The two enter the cafeteria and collect the kids before parting ways for the afternoon.
Your afternoon is easy. Your kids are glad to have you back, claiming that their morning sub was the most boring person they’ve ever met. Before you know it, dismissal is upon you, and you’re leading the kids outside to see them off until tomorrow.
Melissa stands next to you the entire time while you hold your daughter tightly to your body. She helps you gather up all of your things before you head towards her car.
That night, you finish off the soup that Melissa had made, and then you’re curling up on the couch like you usually do. Ellie grips your shirt in her fist as she falls asleep on you, and then you set her in her bed before making your way back out to the living room. Melissa is waiting for you.
“I guess we should talk,” you say softly as you settle in next to her. Your bodies melt together like they were made for each other- something that you had only felt with Jared before.
“Yeah,” she whispers. “Are you okay? After this morning?”
You nod, although the sad look in your eyes tells the redhead differently. “Just… lots of feelings.”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
You tell her all about your marriage- how it had been like a fairytale; how Jared was a handsome and loving man who practically worshipped you. How he doted on you like crazy while you were pregnant with Ellie, and how you were so sure that he was going to be the one you were going to grow old and senile with.
“And then… it wasn’t so magical anymore,” you whisper as you look down at your hands in your lap. “He started coming home later, smelling like other women’s perfume. He stopped kissing me, stopped hugging me. Stopped telling me that he loved me. I found him fucking our babysitter in our own bed while Ellie was down for her nap one day when I came home to grab my lunch.”
“Oh, hun,” Melissa gasps softly.
“I- I was willing to forgive him,” you whisper. “If only for our daughter. But he… he wanted out. Told me that it just wasn’t working for him. He didn’t want to be a father anymore. He left the next week. It’s only been about half a year, and while I hate him more than anything… he was all I knew for a really long time. We started dating when we were in high school. I grew up with him, and it’s taken a lot of time to adjust to life without him.”
“I’m so sorry hun,” the redhead says softly.
You give her a sad smile. “But then we came here, and that all changed.”
“Yeah?”
“You… came into our lives so easily and effortlessly. It’s like you were made to be in our lives,” you admit quietly as you wrap an arm around her waist. “And I- I want to give this a shot if you want to.”
“Nothing would make me happier,” she tells you quietly as she kisses your head again. “Having you and Ellie is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“I just ask that we keep things on the low for a bit… nothing is really going to change other than the fact that we’ll ‘officially’ be dating, but I want to have El warm up to it, and if everyone at work knows… good lord.”
“You know I’m a private person,” she chuckles softly as she tightens her hold on you. “That’s just fine with me… although Barbara has already been asking, so we should probably tell her.”
“That’s okay,” you laugh quietly. “I know she’s your best friend. Will she be okay with it though- Mrs. Barbara Howard, woman of God?”
“You know that woman has practically adopted Jacob at this point,” the redhead rolls her eyes. “She actually told me to go for it with you- that you’re good for me.”
Your jaw drops open slightly. You knew Barbara thought you were a good teacher, and a relatively decent single mother, but to be good enough for her best friend; her work wife? Wow.
“Don’t act like Barb doesn’t love having you and Ellie around- she’ll be Aunt Barb by the end of the summer if she can help it,” Melissa chuckles.
“You think we’ll still be together by the end of the summer?” you ask quietly, nervously.
She shrugs. “We’ve practically been dating since I started making you dinner anyway… you’ve always been my girl, even if you didn’t know it.”
“Melissa Schemmenti’s girl,” you whisper, a shy grin dancing across your lips.
That night, Melissa spends the night again, although Ellie is sandwiched between the two of you. She presses a soft kiss to your daughter’s hairline before pecking your lips sweetly.
You know the two of you have a long way to go… but this one love story just might be worth all the risks in the world, and you were willing to take the leap for Melissa.

One sentence for your brain kickstart
"How did you do that?!"
Eddie was certain that Nancy Wheeler was the one who sold her soul to the devil.
Or maybe he was just a little loopy from the drugs they were still pumping into his system.
He was told if he could finish all his exams with a C or better, he could graduate. Kind of a "we're sorry we were wrong about you but we want you gone" thing.
Nancy made him flashcards, and sat with him for a couple hours every afternoon going over her own study guides for classes.
She'd quickly found that he was smart enough to pass without her help, except for one subject: pre-calculus.
He tried, she watched him try, and she tried so hard to explain in a way that he could understand, but he just couldn't.
"I'm calling in reinforcements," she said on the third afternoon in a row of Eddie getting so frustrated his heart rate spiked and a nurse walked in to make sure he was okay.
"Who at Hawkins is smarter than you?" Eddie asked, doing his best not to let the frustrated tears fall yet.
"Overall? No one. But in pre-calc? Steve."
No way.
There was no way.
"Steve Harrington? The Steve that carried me out of hell? The Steve that looked me in my eye yesterday and asked if I knew any Hobbits in real life?" Eddie's confusion only grew as Nancy started to nod along. "You can't be fuckin' serious. My future depending on the abilities of Steve."
"If he can't help, I'm not sure who can."
So they finished up his biology practice exam and waited.
When Steve arrived, Nancy caught him up on everything while Eddie watched him nodding along, hands on his hips like he was receiving his next instructions during a basketball game.
She left, saluting him on her way out the door, an unreadable smirk on her face.
"So. Pre-calc is trying to kill you?" Steve asked as he sat in the chair Nancy had just occupied.
"It may succeed," he grumbled back.
"Nah. If I can pass with an A, you can." Steve looked over one of the papers Nancy had handed to him before leaving, brows furrowing. "This is from the practice test you did?"
"Failed it," Eddie nodded, playing with the rings on his finger.
Steve set the papers down on his meal tray on wheels, pulling it closer so they could both look at it.
"I see where you were going. You just took a wrong turn, see?" Steve started working the problem from the beginning, the pencil scratching against the paper as Steve found the answer with ease.
"How did you do that?!" Eddie asked after a moment of shocked silence.
"I'll show you slowly. You're just overthinking the third step."
Steve explained each step, showing him as he went exactly what to do.
It took a couple tries, but Eddie finally got it.
The next day, Nancy gave him another practice test.
He passed with a B.
And after another study session with Steve, he passed the real thing with an A.
When Steve heard, he leaned down and kissed the top of his head unexpectedly.
Eddie stared up at him with wide eyes.
"Dammit. I knew the drugs were good, but now I know I've been dreaming this whole time," Eddie whispered, afraid to wake himself up.
"They haven't even given you anything today so you could take your exams, Eds."
"Oh. Right." Eddie blinked. "So, that was real?"
Steve answered with a brush of his lips against Eddie's.

“I’m literally freezing, just give me a blanket!” A nasal voice complains, yours
The doctor to be in front of you, Dr. Ieiri, a third year like you and also, your girlfriend, crosses her arms, rolling her eyes.
“You’re burning up and you're sweating. Do not take me for an idiot. I know you don’t wanna go to your mission tomorrow, but you’re not using me to make you sicker than you are now. "
She pinches the bridge of her muse, irritated. “You have a 40° degree fever!"
She covers your forehead with her hand and you flinch at the low temperature.
“But I have goosebumps and… sniff and I’m sniffling. If I was hot, I wouldn’t be…” You sniffle dramatically, she sighs when you lean into her hand.
“Ieiriiii-sannnn…” You mumble innocently, seeing her resolve crumble slowly.
“I told you to call me Shoko when we’re alone.” She grumbled, removing her hand to leave the room.
“If I come back, and you have a blanket on you, I’m using ice to heal you.” Shoko threatens before leaving you to fend for yourself in the nurses office’s bed.
When she returns, a hot pocket in her hands, she finds you asleep, curled up in a blanket. Just as she told you not to. Shoko sucks her teeth, putting the hot pocket down on her desk and leaves to get ice.
You wake up with a yowl, freezing wetness on your stomach. You shoot up, trying to shove whatever the object was off, but a hand wraps around both of your wrists. A back bending shiver runs through you, goosebumps prickling your skin.
"Wake up sleepyhead." A familiar voice draws from over you. You whine, trying to shake Shoko off as gently as possible. She tuts, disappointed in your attempt at an escape.
"Don't move. Green?" The recognizable safeword lets you understand her intentions.
"Green." You acquiesce, fairly excited at her idea.
"We're going to have some fun. But no kissing." You pout at her last words, alas, you understood why. You didn't want to get her sick.
She lets go of your hands and drives the ice cube to travel down your stomach, circling around your belly button, then passing under your pyjama pants. Shoko takes them off with a swift hand.
You shiver when the small chunk of frozen water makes way to your pubic bone, resting right above where your pulsating heat was. The difference in temperate drove you crazy.
"Cold? Let me warm you up, my love." The doctor hums mockingly as she places a searing kiss on your freezing navel, you hiss at the contact, tensing in pain-pleasure. She hushes you, a hot hand moving towards your neglected cunt. She coos when she finds you're a sopping mess, down there.
"S'wet.. For me, baby? You love it when I touch you, mhm?" Shoko let's out a pleased muffled moan as her thighs shift under her. She picks up another ice cube to slide it up your inner thigh. You whimper, the hand she was using to touch your pussy going to stop your hips from moving.
For a healer, she was quite strong. You let out a shocked moan at chilly air hitting your folds.
"Shoko... You're not planning on-!" You squeal when the ice touches your clit, back arching off the bed. Shoko's almost burning tongue comes to replace it, hot breath fanning your wet pubic area.
The ice melted, making a puddle. She slurps so loudly on your wet clit, you're surprised neither Gojo or Geto heard the noises, turning your huffs into shrill screams.
"Shh," Shoko tries silencing you once more, rubbing the icicle near your puckering entrance, and you try to shut your thighs.
"You have to quiet down." She giggles, "else you'll wake the others up." You nod frantically, making her mutter a few praises before shoving the ice inside of you and you can't find it in your lust-crazed mind to care about the noise, nor the fact that you could've broken your spine from how arched you were.
"Color?" The brown haired woman looms over you when she straightens. She looks dishevelled, almost as worked up as you. Pretty lips parted, chest heaving and face pink.
"G-Green." You manage to stutter out a response, even as the world shattering temperature change inside of you was affecting every single inch of your body.
The ice melted inside of you, now only a miserable puddle of warm, pussy tasting water gathering under you. Shoko smirks, picking up yet another torture device (an ice cube) whilst lowering her head to be eye-to-eye with your fluttering and struggling pussy.
"Such a cutie, jus' like her owner." She slurs, looking up at your wet face, spit dribbling down your chin, tears, both fresh and dried, staining your red cheeks, eyes lidded lowly in lust.
"Sho..." You whimper, trembling in every atom of your existence. Both in hunger and in cold.
"Yes, m'girl, you'll cum." She kisses your clit before pressing the icy treat to the nud, alternating between those two actions.
Press, kiss, repeat. Sometimes she licked from your hole to the hood of your clit. During that, Shoko's other hand started to wander, dipping inside of your pussy, until she finally pushed two digits in at once, mouth latched around your sensitive sex, humming around it to make her mouth vibrate.
You jerk and moan, freeing your heavy, saliva-coated tongue out in intense lewdness.
The orgasm builds, and you warn your girlfriend, "G'nna cum, soon!" Your thighs wrap prettily around her head like a canvases frame, and she was the most beautiful wet painting in the world.
"Cum for me, pretty. Cum." Shoko encourages, tongue occasionally joining her deft fingers inside your sloppy cunt. Her teeth graze your clit, frozen fingers shoving in and out, bringing your slick out and pushing it back in with every movement.
"Shooohhh-" You cry out, back arching un an almost alarming dangerous angle as you finally cum, releasing weeks' worth of tension in one orgasm.
"Thereeee it is." Your doctor drawls in that attractive, tired voice you adore so much.
"What do you say?" She licks her fingers and cups her ear.
"Than-Thank you, Shoko." You pant. She smiles, kissing your cheek.
“Well, now you’re sicker than before, so you’re gonna have to stay with me, okay?”

Hey, could i request eddie Brock & venom x male reader where venom is absolutely infatuated with the reader and practically forces eddie to talk to him. They do websites end up together and when venom is revealed the reader accepts venom. Venom is like a cat that only really let's the reader pet him, there's eddie too but the reader has a special place
Symbiotic Obsession
Pairings: Eddie Brock & Venom x Male reader
Summary: Eddie gets your name from Anne when he expresses his frustration with a recent article trying to expose a rising corporation. He was told you a keen eye for design and was hoping you could fix up a few scandalous pictures, what he wasn't expecting was Venom to be so gun-ho about you.
A/n: I'm hoping I understood what you meant by "They do websites" but if not let me know and I can rewrite it! Again thank you all for the support and recent requests, I do have a lot to go through so bare with me.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
The flickering neon sign of "The Salty Dog" cast an eerie glow on Eddie Brock's face as he downed the last of his beer. Frustration gnawed at him, a bitter taste in his mouth. "I'm at a loss, Anne," he grumbled, the words thick with the weight of his predicament. "Without those pictures, I ain't got anything on them."
Anne, ever the confidante, listened patiently, her chin resting on her hand. "I might know someone who can help," she offered, rummaging through her purse. A sleek black and silver business card emerged, bearing a number and the title "Web Designer."
Eddie raised an eyebrow, skepticism evident. "How is a web designer supposed to help with blurry photos?"
Anne chuckled. "He's more than just a web designer, Eddie. He's a whiz with image manipulation. Give him a call."
Eddie, however, remained unconvinced. Days turned into weeks, and the business card lay forgotten in his wallet. Venom, the symbiote bound to him, grew increasingly impatient. "C'mon, Eddie," he hissed, his voice echoing in Eddie's mind. "Act like a grown-up and just call the guy!"
Finally, after a barrage of Venom's incessant nagging, Eddie relented. He dialed the number on the card, his finger hovering over the hang-up button. The phone rang a few times before a tired voice answered. "Can I help you?"
Eddie, feeling a surge of unexpected nervousness, stammered, "My name's Eddie Brock. I got your number from Anne. I... I need your help with some photos for an article."
There was a brief silence followed by the rustling of papers and the rhythmic clacking of keys. "Send them over," came the voice, a hint of weariness in his tone. "I'll see what I can do."
Eddie hesitated, then, with a resigned sigh, sent the blurry images to the email address on the card.
The silence that followed was punctuated by the distant clatter of keys and occasional hums from the other end of the line. "I should be able to clean these up," hel said finally. "Meet me at the address I just sent you in a few days."
Before Eddie could respond, the line went dead. A text message popped up on his phone: "See, Eddie? That wasn't so hard!" Venom crowed, a distinct note of mockery in his voice. Eddie rolled his eyes, but a flicker of anticipation stirred within him.
A few days later, Eddie found himself at a dimly lit bar, his gaze scanning the room for the male. He spotted him in a corner booth, nursing a lukewarm beer and looking lost in thought. Approaching him, Eddie offered a friendly smile. "Uh hey.”
Startled, he looked up. "Eddie Brock, right? Anne mentioned you."
They exchanged pleasantries, the conversation flowing easily. Hel, to Eddie's surprise, was surprisingly insightful and witty. As he handed him a USB drive containing the enhanced photos, Eddie felt a strange pull towards the man, a sense of intrigue he couldn't quite explain.
"How can I repay you?" Eddie asked, feeling a pang of guilt.
He shrugged, taking another sip of his beer. "No need. Consider it a favor for Anne."
Venom, however, had other ideas. "How about we… I take you to dinner?" Eddie's voice, laced with Venom's eagerness, came out in a jarringly loud whisper.
He raised an eyebrow, a slow smile spreading across his face. "Sounds like a date."
Venom, ecstatic, practically vibrated with excitement. The date, to Eddie's chagrin, was more Venom's than his own. Venom dominated the conversation, his voice a playful, sometimes mischievous counterpoint to Eddie's more reserved demeanor.
Despite his initial reservations, Eddie found himself drawn to the male. Their subsequent dates were a strange mix of awkward silences, witty banter, and Venom's surprisingly insightful – and often inappropriate – commentary.
Months passed. Eddie, to his own astonishment, found himself falling for him. He confessed his feelings one quiet evening, his heart pounding in his chest.
"I... I have this… parasite," Eddie stammered, the words catching in his throat.
He, ever the enigma, simply leaned back against the couch, a curious glint in his eyes. "Parasite?"
The silence that followed was thick with anticipation. Then, with a dramatic flourish, Venom erupted from Eddie's back, his form shimmering with an eerie light. "I'm not a parasite!" Venom declared, his voice booming. "Take it back!"
Instead of recoiling in fear, he simply stared at Venom, a slow smile spreading across his face. "That's… fucking awesome."
Venom, taken aback by his reaction, grinned. "Yes, we are very awesome!" he declared, curling around the male like a protective shield.
The rest of the evening was a whirlwind of introductions and awkward silences. Eddie, watching Venom nuzzle into their boyfriend's lap like a contented cat, felt a warmth spread through him. He never thought Venom's obsessive behavior would lead to this – a genuine connection, a shared life with another being.
He and Venom had a boyfriend, and despite the initial chaos, it was a life he wouldn't trade for the world.

Chase It - 2
read chapter one here
summary: nellie meets the so called tornado wrangler
warnings: none
AN: tagging my one friend who asked to be notified :) also if these seem split up weird it's because they're written for wattpad so some chapters may seem like abrupt endings. lemme know your thoughts! @stillhere197
Javi and Kate had somehow gotten the biggest burst of luck Nellie had seen in her nursing career, somehow convincing Nellie's supervisor to give her three shifts off after her next shift, so she could come with them on their chase. Nellie grumbled under her breath for a bit in the back of the car as they drove to meet up with the rest of Javi's team.
"This is fancy as hell," Nellie said under her breath as she looked at the car she was sitting in, and all the new gear. "Javi how are you getting all this capital?"
"Storm Par has investors," he said simply as the three of them pulled up to a familiar sight Nellie had grown up on. A old school truck stop with small groups of people preparing to go chase some storms. As Javi pulled to a stop, Nellie's chest got a little tight as she felt for the first time what she was actually doing today. She was chasing for the first time in five years.
The slam of doors knocked her from her stupor, and she jumped out of the car and followed Kate and Javi to a group of men. "Alright team," Javi gathered the group. "You guys have all heard me talk about Kate, and Nellie. The two of them have some of the best instincts I know, they're the best. And yall won't miss working with a better team. We've got PhDs from NASA, FEMA, NWS."
"And no women," Nellie said with a head tilt as Javi stumbled over his sentence.
"Well, my partner here went to MIT, not Muskogee State," Javi clapped the tall brunette on the shoulder. "But he makes up for it with his beautiful personality." Scott deapanned them with a smile.
"Likely," Nellie murmured as she turned her gaze away from the men and towards the skies. Javi and Scott's next words were cut off by a red truck coming screeching in the lot with the windows down and the music blaring. The amateurs in the lot began to frenzy as the trucks passed, and Nellie raised a brow as a brunette man leaned out of the window with a camera.
"Are they filming?" Nellie asked in surprise as the man taunted Scott and the PhD's with a grin as he drove by.
"Who are they?" Kate asked.
"Chasers out of Arkansas," Javi informed them with a frown.
"Hillbillies with a youtube channel," Scott said. And with that, the group watched as the truck was thrown into park and a crowd formed as a big Stetson came through the open door and a tall blonde stood on the running boards.
"How you feeling Ty?" the camera man turned the lens to the blonde.
"Feeling good Boone," the man smirked cockily. "And if you feel it?"
"Chase it!" the crowd yelled back.
"I said, if you feel it?"
"Chase it!" Nellie burst into laughter as she watched the spectacle in front of her.
"That's Tyler Owens," Javi told the girls as Nellie kept giggling, making eye contact with the blonde man, Tyler. Feeling his stare even through his dark sunglasses as he tipped his hat. She tipped her imaginary Stetson right back at him as Javi carried on. "Calls himself a Tornado Wrangler."
"A tornado what?" Nellie questioned as she watched as their van was opened and merch began to flow. "This is hysterical."
Javi pulled up a tablet, pulling some data for Kate to look at. Nellie let the blonde take the data, while she began walking to the open area next to the stop. Nellie heard Javi shoo off the crowd while she began to look at the sky. Looking East then West, taking a deep breath and getting that tingly feeling she hadn't let herself give into in five years.
She leaned down to the grass, grabbing a dandelion for her and Kate, letting the petals fall as they looked at the sky.
"You know I used to do that," Tyler said as he approached the two newcomers, talking to both of them but unable to keep his eyes off the petite red head who he was captivated by. "Compare the wind direction to cloud movement. Get a feel for the shear. Sometimes the old ways are better than the new."
Tyler watched both of them, carrying on when he didn't get a response. "Where yall in from?"
"New York," Kate said crisply, and Nellie chose not to answer.
"You're a long way from home City Girls," Tyler smirked, watching Nellie in confusion as she snickered. "So yall working with Storm Par?"
"Tyler," they were interruppted by a British man approaching them. "Do we know which storm we're chasing yet?"
"Well, why don't we ask these two-" Tyler paused, fishing for their names.
"Nellie," the red head smiled kindly as she reached out to shake the Brit's hand. "This is Kate. We're your city girls."
"Hi Nellie," Tyler smirked. "Kate. I'm Tyler."
"Oh we couldn't miss that, with the t shirts, it's a little hard," Nellie smiled sweetly as Kate grinned.
"I'm Ben, a reporter," the Brit stuck his hand out to Kate. "I'm writing a piece on american storm chasing and Tyler's letting me ride along with him."
"Ben just had to promise to only write good things about me," Tyler grinned.
"Good luck with that," Kate said and turned around.
"Might have to dig deep Ben," Nellie giggled as she turned on the heel of her boot.
"Hold on," Tyler called out. "You didn't say where we're going. If we go West we double our chances. East? High risk, high reward."
"Go for the reward," Kate advised as Nellie shook her head and kept walking. "Wouldn't want Ben to think you're boring."
"Boring's not usually a problem for me," Tyler said as Kate followed Nellie.
"But humility apparently is!" Nellie called over her shoulder, offering Tyler and Ben a sweet smile and a finger wave as she approached Javi and Scott.
"We're going West," Nellie said to the boys, Kate catching up with her.
"Cell to the East has better numbers," Scott protested.
"Doesn't feel right," Kate shook her head.
"Yeah, cap's too strong," Nellie agreed. "Won't ever break." Scott sighed as Javi rallied the troops and everyone got back in the trucks.

He Canceled Hot Girl Summer 🔥
18+mdni series master list
The night before Aries season…|
You paced back and forth in the hospital room, trying to walk through the discomfort of early labor. Your mom and dad had traveled to see you and be with you during the birth of your son. Your dad, being the man that he was, couldn't stand seeing his baby girl in pain and went to harass the nurses to do something about it (despite your mom saying it was all in God's hands).
You sit down on the bed and groan in frustration. You start crazy laughing. It was only five hours in, and Omari was taking his sweet time. “He's such a drama queen.” You huff, “Of course, his little ass is doing things on his terms, like I'm not sitting here hungry for more than ice.”
Your mom just laughs and shakes her head, “It's the only time he's ever gonna be able to tell you to wait, and you gotta.”
“But if I let him call the shots now, he'll expect to keep calling the shots.” You grumble and rub your back.
“Sweetie?”
“Yeah mom?” You look at her, and your breath hitches at another contraction.
“How are you feeling? I know the last few months you and Ricky haven't been the best.” She says.
She's not really asking how you are right now physically, she's got four kids, she knows. You roll your eyes and look up at the ceiling in thought, “Dad is just being Dad, I don't even care for real.”
“You know he just didn't want this for you, neither of us did.”
“Yeah, but my baby is almost here, and Dad, I suppose, is deciding to pay my rent for the year instead of apologizing to me for what he said.” Your voice wavers slightly at the memory of what was supposed to be the happiest moment of your pregnancy. Telling your parents they were going to be grandparents.
“He's here now, and he wants to make it up to you. Ya know he never stopped, during that six month stretch, never did he stopped asking about you and the baby.” She moves to sit next to you and holds your hand. “Pray on it and forgive him.”
Your eyes close, and you chuckle sadly, “Prayer doesn't fix other people's shitty actions.”
Your mom opens her mouth and closes it multiple times. She's trying to say something, anything profound to smooth over an already tense relationship. Rehabilitate, like most mothers do when their family has been smashed on the rocks.
You hope that Omari doesn't ever have to pray for the strength to forgive you. You'd rather eat hot nails than ever guilt trip him for your actions. You think briefly that having your father here instead of his father may be his villain origin story. So maybe it's already in motion. Who knows?
Another contraction takes hold of you, and you pray for a healthy baby that will never need to be told to pray.
Chapter 4: The thing about video calls…is that you can hang up. 📱
It's been two weeks of Johnny inserting himself into Omari's life and, by extension, your life, too. On days that you don't work from home, he's at your apartment and helping you by getting Omari ready. You can always hear him speaking that strange language to him, and when you asked Johnny what it was, he told you with a sly smile.
“Gaelic chuilein.” He then went back to softly speaking to Omari as if you're not even there.
And you thought Aaliyah spoiled Omari? (Despite her telling you to send him to glory in the beginning, she comes over, and when she does, her first greeting is “Where's Big Mari? Aunty has a gift for him.” And then she produces another pair of baby Jordans that he will grow out of.) Johnny goes absolutely wild with daddy duties. The man doesn't even like the idea of his mini me being even slightly uncomfortable or upset. He bought a towel warmer just so Omari wouldn't have to leave a warm bath and use a cold towel. He didn't like that Omari's nursery had street facing windows (and the only reason his nursery faced the street is because you and him would people watch on Sunday morning) and while he fussed and complained, he got privacy film so his baby and his woman could see out but people couldn't see in.
He applied that film to all of the windows.
And then he bought you a ring camera doorbell for his peace of mind.
You've heard him on the phone with his mom or one of his three sisters. All of them sounded cheerful about Omari, asking to see his chubby little face and cooing about his features and how he looks like some man named Johnathan (who you correctly assume is his father). His mother, a sweet woman with bright blue eyes and a warm smile, speaks to you each and every time she's on the phone. She'd asked about your diet, admonished you about not eating enough, and then promptly began scolding Johnny about the importance of making sure you ate enough. She explained that a breastfeeding mother needed to eat hearty and healthy and that she was sending him a list of foods for him to get and cook. The whole time, Johnny sat there nodding his head, cheeks flushed pink, and a little bit embarrassed.
You give him credit though, you thought he'd give you bland British Food, but he was making family recipes, and they were surprisingly good.
That's when he asked if he should know your parents. Which led to you calling them up on Skype one Saturday afternoon and your mom answering with a smile.
“Sweetie!” She smiles, “And how are you doing? Are you still having trouble with your depression?” She's asking before you can even shake your head no and switch the subject. “And did you speak with your therapist and psych about getting on new meds?”
Johnny is in the kitchen, Omari strapped to his chest (once again, that baby doesn't sit on his own ass…ever) and he's looking at you with concern. His blue eyes are unreadable, but you spy the clench in his jaw as he quietly listens along. He's warming up a bottle on the stove since Omari is more demanding for being fed more often, and your nipples are too sore to handle his little gummy gnawing. It's clear from the looks he keeps giving you that a conversation will be had.
“Nah, mom. I haven't seen them in the past three weeks since work picked up and stuff.” You lean back on the sofa and situate the laptop on the coffee table.
Your mom frowns and opens her mouth, but then she stops when she hears Omari start crying offscreen. “Where's the baby? Is Autumn with you? Tell that boy that he needs to call more.”
“No, Autumn isn't here…” You take a deep breath, “Omari's father John is here.”
She stares for a moment, “now don't you going pullin' my leg.”
“No really, he is. It's a long and interesting story, but we, and really I mean Aaliyah, found him by accident, and he wants in.” You try to sum it all up neatly, and the way you purse your lips, clearly say you won't be explaining much more.
“Ricky!” Your mom gets up and calls for your father, “Richard Knights!” She's walking offscreen, and you can hear the familiar squeak of the screen door and the distant sound of the lawnmower.
Johnny comes over and sits down. He's got Omari eating. He's a bit tense, and you understand him, meeting Davina over FaceTime was stressful. The woman wasn't the same as happy and go-lucky as Johnny or his other two sisters Fiona and Blair. You chalk it up to her being the eldest daughter as she acts similarly to Aaliyah.
“How does mah hair look?” His free hand messes with the front of his hair. The bottle is leaning against his chest.
“Johnny, you're holding your son, and you are about to meet my father and mother, and you wanna worry about hair?” You smack his hand away and fix it right for him. He leans into your touch and smiles at you. That smile makes your stomach flip, and he knows that it does because the smile becomes a bit devilish.
“Chuilein,” He whispers, his eyes are half lidded, “You smell nice.”
“I smell like milk.” You playfully push him away.
“You smell like a mother, and I'm trying to hold myself back from making Irish twins with you.”
“John really?” You shriek. At this time, both of your parent's are sitting down, and you're praying they didn't hear him. (The angry look on your father's face says otherwise.)
“What did you call me in here for Portia?” Your father says.
“She saying that this is Omari's father.” Portia smiles, “Hi darling, I'm Portia, and this is my husband Richard, but we call him Ricky.”
“You can call me Colonel.” Your father flat out denies Johnny of any familiarity. You can only groan and roll your eyes heavenward.
“Daddy, please don't be difficult.” The sigh you let out can be no less dramatic if you try.
“Nice to meet you, sir, Sergeant John MacTavish.” Johnny sits up straighter, and you are reminded that he is indeed an army soldier. He fell into the roll so easily.
“Hn.” Ricky grunts and nods his head once, “a sergeant? Can't say I'm displeased. Better than what I initially thought only by a margin.” His arms are folded across his chest. He watches from beneath his heavy brows, and his eyes squint just slightly. “Can you say what branch, or are there a bunch of NDAs involved?”
“Daddy would you-”
“A bunch of NDAs, but I do serve in S.A.S. sir.” He answers coolly. Omari starts to whine and cry slightly, and Johnny is immediately tuning into what he wants. He whispers softly to him and asks if he's tired of eating and wants to burp. Your mom is smiling and looks moved. Your father not so much.
“Hm.” Ricky nods his head again, “At least my daughter got pregnant by a decent man. Can't wait to see and learn if you're respectable and responsible.”
“Ricky, be nice.” Portia frowns, “He's here now, and it's a prayer answered that she won't be on her own and Omari will have his father.”
“He's black ops. I know their kind.” He doesn't budge, and he looks down at your mom with a knowing look.
“Anyway-” Portia rolls her eyes, “John, are you planning to come to the States for Omari's baptism?” She smiles at him, “Unless you and my daughter have decided to not get him baptized.”
“ah'm actually a Catholic ma'am.” He sits Omari up after burping him so he can see the screen.
“There's Mimi's little fat man!” Portia squealed, “and you're Catholic? I'm not all that familiar with the Catholic faith, but I suppose a baptism is a baptism for you all, too? Does it matter the denomination?”
“Mom, I still haven't decided if I want to get Omari baptized.” You try gently reminding her. You've all had this conversation multiple times, and you really don't wanna go all the way back home for a baptism.
“You know your GiGi already started picking out fabric for his suit.” Portia sighs.
“She's sewing it? Good lord.” Ricky huffs, “That sewing machine is gonna catch on fire. It's so old.”
“Point is, Sweetie, that we gotta schedule the baptism soon. Don't want that baby coming up on six months without it.” She says.
“We aren' doin’ a baptism.” Johnny says before you even open your mouth, he's still smiling down at Omari and tickling his little toes.
“Huh?” You and your mother speak at the same time.
“Yea, me an’ mah chuilein are more focused on get'n tha family thing right.” He looks up. His eyes are bright, but his smile is more like a tight grimace. Then, without prompting, he leans over and kisses you on the cheek. “‘Sides” He continues, “wouldnae be right to baptize him if his his mum an’ da are livin’ in sin aye?”
“Wait, he's living with you?” Your Dad growls.
You quickly go right into damage control, “No he ain't. It's an expression.”
“Aaww” your mother is crying now, “he's a God-fearing man, I was so worried she'd end up with a heathen.”
“Portia please…” Ricky sighs, “not every man who has religion is God-fearing…” he's trying to console her cries and praises of ‘Won't he do it.”
Johnny is watching the two of them with a raised brow and a crooked grin. He looks at you and nudges your side. “The're quite tha characters.” He whispers to you. He's leaning close to you, the warmth of his breath on the shell of your ear. “An’ donnae think we aren' gonna talk ‘bout yur depression an’ mental health.”
You meet his serious gaze, and those blue eyes aren't as playful and sweet. Instead, they are worried and his lips in a firm line. The moment is tense, and you feel sorta like you're in trouble, but that can't be right. It can't be right because you're a grown woman and who the fuck is he? So before you can even stop yourself the words come out of your mouth.
“John,” you say, the corner of your lip raised a bit, “last time I checked, I'm grown.”
He doesn't say anything, and his grimace only tightens. He won't be backing down on this one. His best mates all have abysmal mental health, and while he's semi adjusted, he too suffers, and he knows it's no joke. Your mom breaks the tension with a wail, and you just now realize the woman has started speaking in tongues.
“Mom, what?” You say watching the woman cry and sob. Some of the words are ‘Thank you Jesus.’
Your father is rubbing her back, “we will talk later, Baby girl…seems your mom has decided to work herself into a frenzy.” He looks at Johnny and hums. “Give him my number, I'd like to chat with him one on one.” And before you can rebuff anything, the screen goes blank.
“Does she do that often?” Johnny asks, clearly confused.
“She's probably in the middle of a spiritual psychosis episode.” You say with a sigh, “also please don't call my father Colonel. He's retired. And on a second note, when you inevitably meet my eldest brother Junior, don't call him anything but Junior.”
“Yur family sounds fun.” He laughed.
“They are…but we all love each other. Also, did you mean what you said about the baptism thing?” You ask.
“Aye, ah did.” He looks back at Omari, who at this point has decided to chew on his shirt and doze. “Alla tha stuff can be handle’ later. Mah own mum an’ sisters ‘ave been hintin’ at a catholic baptism an’ already itchin’ about first communion.”
You watch as he rocks and soothes the baby to sleep. He's really different from what you remembered. He didn't seem like the party boy that drank shots off of you and had dipped his tongue into your navel while you laid on the bar top. He didn't seem like the good fuck that spit in your mouth and made you call him daddy (and boy was that a self fulfilling prophecy). Johnny didn't even seem like some army dude, though he was somewhat paranoid about the windows and the front door and balcony door, even though your place was on the second floor. Right now, he painted the pretty picture as a guy who just wanted to take care of his son, affectionately whispering to him in his mother tongue the tune of some lullaby.
Your phone is out, and you've already snapped a photo.
“Don't post it to your insta.” He says just as you opened the app.
“Why not?” You ask.
“Because…” there is hesitation in him as he looks at you, “yur da mentioned he knows mah type.”
You scoff, “He knows the military, I guess.”
“He specifically ask'd ‘f ah was an NDA soldier or a regular one.”
“Okay and? So you can't talk about your work? How's that a big deal?”
“Chuilein…we gotta talk ‘bout mah job, an’ safety, ‘an we gotta talk ‘bout how I wan’ tae keep ya both safe an’ move ya both somewhere safe.” He is tense now and watching your face for every bit of reaction. Slowly, you understand what he's referring to. Your own father was that type of secretive, never spoke about work unless it was just your mom. It only became worse after he made Colonel. It really didn't relax until he retired, and everyone changed their last names to Knights.
You groan and place your head into your hands. Not only did you fuck a army boy, you fucked a spec ops army boy.
“You have gots to be fucking with me.” You whine.
Because, of course, your baby daddy is a shady war criminal, NDA soldier.
A/N: Plot in this story? Say it ain't so. Lol, IDK how the plot showed up, but it's still comedy and a hint of drama. There won't be any kidnappings or his job coming back to physically harm the reader and Omari. Thank you all for following.

Is it okay if it is a one shot instead? I don't want to force you to do anythinggg 😭😭😭 it's my own preference!!
Hi There!
I will DEFINITELY do one shots when requested! They’re so much fun to write about, and honestly this is one of my favorite things to write about. I think to keep it organized from the “Outside The Office” series I’ll respond directly to the request with the story attached and add that to the master list.
You asked specifically for Val or Vox x reader and their little girl, so I tried to give both Val and Vox their time to shine in respective, responsible, parental roles. If you want a specific Vox x reader and their little girl or a specific situation for Val x Reader and their little girl, let me know! There are SO MANY to choose from but this is the first one that came to mind!
As always, enjoy! Feedback is always, always appreciated and valued!
“Princessa, hold still.” Valentino grumbled to the squirming toddler. His hands moved as quickly as they could, weaving her blonde hair into braids. “Princessa, stop, I don’t want to pull your hair.”
She let out a shriek and Valentino quickly wrapped the end of the braid in a soft pink hair tie before he scooped her up into his arms and rocked her gently, tucking her against him. “Shush, princessa, daddy is here.”
Never did Valentino ever think he would be calling himself daddy in the most appropriate context of the word.
She quieted quickly and snuggled into him. Valentino smoothed back her hair and pressed his lips to her forehead. Cooler than she was an hour ago. But not quite broke of her fever yet. Definitely due for her next dose of medicine.
She stuck her thumb in her mouth and sucked vigorously- a habit he despised with every fiber of his being. Honestly, he’d rather let her just have the pacifier but his wife was insistent that she break the habit. It wasn’t good for her teeth, she said.
He guessed she would know more about it than he did. She read more books on the subject than he had, and he had read quite a few himself as he tried to teach himself how to be the father he had never had. Truth be told, when his wife first found out she was pregnant, he was both ecstatic and terrified. A baby of his own- of their own. What if he fucked it up? What if something went wrong and he lost them both in the process? But the first three years of his little girl's life proved to be the opposite- he loved her with every fiber of his being.
The flutter of the kicks during the first nine months of her life. Listening to her heartbeat for the first time. Watching the love of his life, his reader bring her into the world, and the first time he held her in his arms- she was so tiny he was afraid of hurting her.
He remembered sitting in the hospital room, holding her as his wife slept, when the nurse came in and suggested that he take his shirt off and doing skin to skin contact with the baby.
“That’s a mom thing, I’m not her mom, I’m her dad,” he protested as loudly as he dared, so as to not wake the sleeping infant.
The nurse said it didn’t matter. The process would help her regulate her temperature and her heart rate- it was biology. Beneficial to them both. Reluctantly, he handed her off his baby and unbuttoned his shirt. The nurse handed her back to him and guided him to hold her against his chest, over his heart, and covered her with the smallest pink blanket.
“There you go Dad, just like that,” she told him.
Dad. No one had ever called him that before. At least, not in the true sense of the word.
Overnight, the top floor of the V tower he and his wife shared with Vox and Velvette had turned into a hybrid of ruthless overlords and a little kid's dream house. Neither aunt nor uncle spared any expense the moment they found out he and his wife were expecting a little girl, and Velvette herself had designed her pink princess themed room that his daughter called her own.
Not that she slept there. For a while, she was in a bassinet. And then a crib. And as soon as she was mobile she crawled into her parents bed and that was it. She slept between them, and more than once he and reader were grateful they had a big bed. For such a tiny kid, she sure took up space. They would have to break that habit he swore he would never develop, but according to the books he read- it really was okay, at least, for the time being.
“Dada,” she muttered. “Don’t feel good.”
He snapped his attention back to her. “I know babygirl. Come on, Daddy’s going to make you feel better.” He lifted her up and carried her into the kitchen.
One of the only benefits of being home with a sick toddler was simply that he didn’t have to go into work today- he could stay at home with his little girl. Normally his wife would be the one who handled all the care, but today was day two of his sweetheart’s sickness, and his wife was spent. And so, he put her to bed and the last time he checked, she was fast asleep.
And now as he filled the plastic syringe with a mix of bubblegum pink medication and juice, he half heartedly regretted that decision.
“No!” She screamed when she saw the dropper. “No! No! NO!”
No. It was her favorite word, one he was both proud and unhappy that she knew. Honestly, he couldn’t blame her for her refusal. He had tasted the sticky liquid himself out of curiosity and immediately regretted the decision. In all of hell’s amazing medical advances, could’t they make something that tasted good?
“Dollface, I know,” he said to her tiredly. “Look, I’ll make you a deal. You take this, and I’ll take you down to see Uncle Voxxy and his sharks, okay?”
That perked her up.
“Sha ka. Now.” She demanded.
He held up the medicine dropper. “Medicine first. Then sharks.”
“Sha ka!” She demanded.
“Then open up,” he replied, taking her chin in his hand. “All of it goes into your tummy. Then sharks.”
She gave him a look of disdain that inwardly made him wince, but she opened her mouth. Honestly, he feared what her teenage years would look like if she was this defiant at three. He stuck the syringe in her mouth and slowly pressed down on the plunger.
“Swallow it. All of it.” He reminded her. “The sooner it goes from your mouth to your tummy, the sooner you can have juice.”
To his relief, she swallowed it and he handed her a bottle of juice. Also probably not the best parenting decision, letting her be on a bottle this long, but the pacifier battle was enough of a fight. Even with Vox and Velvette’s help, they had to pick and choose their battles.
“Sha ka.” She demanded, reaching for him to pick her back up.
Valentino sighed but lifted her into his arms. She snuggled into his neck and that feeling of love, of protectiveness washed over him. He held her a little bit tighter as he carried her towards the elevator, pausing only to grab the diaper bag at the entryway.
Love. It was his field of expertise. But nothing, not even the day he married his wife, could compare to the type of love he felt the first time he held his daughter in his arms. It was different than anything he had ever felt- pure and protective. That feeling had never gone away, even on the roughest of nights, when his wife struggled to stay awake every few hours, struggling to feed this tiny little creature that now depended on them for her every need. Of taking turns holding her until she granted them both the mercy of sleep.
“Sha ka!” She screeched as he stepped into Vox’s office. She struggled in his arms and Valentino set her down.
“Aw, how’s my little peanut? Come to Uncle Voxxy!” Vox turned around in his chair.
Valentino watched as she took off to him and jumped into his arms. For the overlord of technology, he turned into mush around the little girl. And she felt the same way about him, that much was obvious.
“Yeah, you wanna see the sharkies? Come on, we’ll go see the sharkies!” Vox lifted her up and looked at Valentino. “You look like shi- fuck. Crap. I mean, you look like you need a shower.”
“Swear jar. Three quarters. No exception.” Valentino half joked.
The first time his daughter called her stuffed animal a word no toddler should say, Velvette in all her genius introduced the swear jar. The rest of them resisted at first, but it wasn’t like they couldn’t afford it. Vox struggled the most with the no cursing rule around the kid rule and as a result, she had enough in her piggy bank to buy herself a new car if she wanted. Sometimes, Valentino wondered if he did it on purpose. After all, she could spend the money however she chose and Valentino had a feeling that it would be spent at the toy store the next time he and his wife went out of town.
Or he would just buy her whatever she wanted and let her keep it. The word spoiled didn’t exist in his vocabulary. At least, not when it came to her.
“I mean it Val, let me take her for a bit. Go get cleaned up. Maybe lay down for a few minutes. I got the baby, yes I do, yes I do!”
He looked down at himself. Black tee shirt, and yesterday's sweatpants. Probably baby vomit from when she got sick earlier. But a shower sounded like a fantastic idea- a dream, really.
“She puked earlier, and she’s still running a fever. You sure you want that?” Valentino warned doubtfully as he handed Vox the diaper bag.
Vox shrugged. “Push comes to shove I’ll bring her upstairs and get her changed. Not a big deal.”
Valentino watched her snuggle into him and her bottle fell to the floor as her thumb went right back into her mouth, leaving baby drool and Lucifer knew what else all over his shirt. He bent down and picked it up, handing it to Vox.
“You don’t want to help with bath time tonight, do you?” Valentino asked hopefully.
Vox laughed. “Ha! Not on your life! I know what a little terror this princess is with water, yes I do! Yes I do!”
She let out a cross between a giggle and a shriek as he lightly tickled her.
“Go, Val. Shoo. We’re fine, I promise.” Vox reiterated as he turned back towards his desk. “Say bye bye to Daddy, babygirl, we’re going to go see sharks!”
“Sha ka!” she shrieked. “Uncie Voxxy! Sha ka!”
“Alright. Princessa, be good for Uncle Voxxy okay?” He kissed her forehead. Cooler, but not as cool as she was earlier. He turned and walked out the door to the sound of Vox cooing to her.
He walked back up the stairs and took as quick of a shower as he could, hoping he didn’t disturb his sleeping love. To his relief, reader didn’t move from where she lay, fast asleep. A pang of guilt. Being a full time mom was no joke, and he wished he could help her more. But hell would freeze over before he allowed his little girl in the studio- it was bad enough reader came in from time to time. He hated his wife seeing him in that role.
He pulled on clean clothes- jeans and a black shirt and bent over, pressing a kiss to her forehead. Was it him, or did she feel warm too? She blinked, and let out a tired yawn as she looked up at him. He saw the panic in her eyes.
“What time is Val? Where is the baby?” she asked, swinging herself out of bed.
“Baby is with Vox, go back to sleep my love,” he said soothingly as he caught her before she could stand up. “You need to rest.” He carefully looked at the watch on her wrist and opened the synched app on his phone. She was running a temperature too. Son of a bitch. “Do you feel okay?”
He listened to her as she inhaled and broke out into a coughing fit that sounded similar to what the kid had come down with. She shook her head no.
Double fuck.
“Honey, I’m going to bring you some medication and a drink. Do you want water or juice?” he asked.
“Water is fine.” She buried her face in her hands, only looking up when he brought both over to “I need a shower.”
“You’re free to do whatever you want, my love. I’ve got the baby.” He smoothed back her hair as she swallowed the drugs. “You rest, I need you to feel better too.” He pulled her to his chest and kissed the top of her head. “I can only do this by myself for so long. I need you back to full force, and that means lots of rest for you.”
She broke into a laugh that turned into a coughing fit. “That’s going to mean less sleep for you.”
“I’ll manage.” He wrapped his arms around her and cradled her head to his chest for a moment. “Go shower, love. I’m going to free Vox from her grasp.”
She nodded and he stood up. He waited outside the door for a few minutes until he heard the water running. Only then did he make his way back down the stairs.
“Princessa? Vox?” He called as he walked into the studio.
Vox turned around in his chair and shook his head, pressing a finger to his lips. Even from a distance, Valentino could see her tucked against Vox, his sleeves rolled up and his jacket covered her like a blanket. The drool stains on his shoulder were larger now, and was he wearing a different shirt?
“Shush, you’ll wake the baby,” Vox said softly as he carefully stood up and adjusted her against him.
She snuggled into his neck and started to fuss. Vox carefully handed her back to Valentino, ensuring she stayed wrapped up in his jacket.
“Hey baby, Daddy is here,” Valentino said quietly as he adjusted her in his arms. “Thanks, Vox.”
“Don’t mention it. That kid will rule the world someday, mark my words. I’ll see you after work tonight, happy to watch her for a few hours so you can get some rest too.” Vox handed him back the diaper bag. “She did puke by the way. Bright pink medicine, all over my shirt- totally wrecked it. Thank god you keep an extra tee shirt in the diaper bag, and I keep a spare set of my own in the office. I cleaned her up the best I could. But she fell asleep right after and I didn’t want to move her any more than I had to.”
God, there were definitely some parts of being a parent that were completely gross, even for Valentino.
She was fast asleep by the time Valentino carried her back upstairs. He pressed his lips to her forehead and was relieved to find she wasn’t burning up. A cool washcloth should help. He checked in on his wife, and seeing her fast asleep, made his way to the living room and laid down on the couch. It was a risk to lay the cloth on her neck but thankfully she didn’t stir.
As he laid on the couch with her in his arms, he wondered how he would get through the next few days, and hoped that whatever sickness took both his girls down stayed far, far away from him. He needed to take care of them, after all.

My Kind of Woman
Chapter 1: Special.
Series Masterlist
Series summary - Your song captivates Joel the second he hears you that night in Jackson, but he struggles to work up the courage to confess his feelings. With some (very heavy) encouragement from Ellie and Tommy, you two get closer and closer until he finally thinks he’s ready.
Chapter summary - You and Joel finally sit down together after a year of stolen glances.
A/N: OH MY GOD IT’S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I’VE WRITTEN A FIC I MISSED IT SM. Let’s all collectively pray that I actually finish this series, btw. It kind of just came to me earlier today and I barely have anything planned but.. you know me by now.
Pairing: Joel Miller x f!reader
Word count: 1.6k
Warnings: alcohol, light language, (kind of) fluff, nothing much really in this chapter
DO NOT COPY THIS FIC IN ANY WAY PLS AND TY.
“Come on man. We’ve been here for almost two years and you still haven’t made any friends. I see how you look at her- just say something! It is actual torture having to watch you dance around people like this.” Ellie groans dramatically, trying to kick some sense into the man who sits across from her. Joel just grunts, continuing to eat his stew as she looks blankly at him. “She’s nice enough.” She adds after a moment, trying to get him to say something.
After more silence, she speaks again with an exaggerated sigh, “I guess I’ll just go talk to her then, tell her that my old man has a big, fat crush on her. Maybe then you two can-” her smirk falters when Joel interrupts her.
“Don’t you dare go doin’ that,” he grumbles “Y’ gon’ make me look stupid-”
“So you talk to her then! Stop moping around all the time.” Ellie concludes, before standing up and saying goodbye, going to clear her tray and giving him a look before leaving the mess hall.
Joel watches her go before closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose. First, Tommy was on his ass about making some friends - “You’re scarin’ people, y’know. Givin’ everyone death stares when you walk around, being so.. withdrawn all the time. It’d do ya some good,” he’d told Joel one evening at the Tipsy Bison - and now Ellie was too. And, knowing Ellie, that kid wouldn’t be as patient, probably already concocting some sort of plan to force you and Joel together.
As he leans his head back and mulls over his options, he looks out the window. Of course you’re out there, playing with the kids of Jackson. You’re one of the most popular people in Jackson, always being friendly and knowing just about everyone.
..Except him, of course. You’ve had some small chats with him, but you never really see him. He sees you though, having been.. observing you for the past year, keeping his distance - being respectful, in his eyes, being a wuss, in Ellie’s - and he knows enough about you to know that he probably has no chance with you.
You’re funny, sweet, fucking stunning, and he’s seen multiple guys try to approach you at the bar. Younger, more attractive guys. Mainly, you help teach kids things like art and music at the Jackson school, and you also do patrols a few times a week. On some nights you also sing at the Tipsy Bison when there are events and dances. The band will play, often with you as the lead singer. He always makes sure he’s there when you are.
The first time he saw you was on one of his very first nights in the Tipsy Bison. Tommy had dragged him along, Ellie going too, with promise of a fun night.
He came mainly to keep an eye on Ellie and to get some alcohol in his system, not expecting anything ‘fun’ to happen. Boy, was he wrong.
It had been around half an hour of him nursing his whiskey in the corner of the room when you came onto stage, million-dollar smile on your face as you spoke into the microphone.
“Good evening, Jackson!” You began, already getting a loud cheer from the crowd of people there that night. “It’s great to be singin’ for you again, you know I missed ya! Now, tonight, we got a few songs lined up, but this first one is a special request from Mister Tommy Miller over there!” You had said, pointing over to Tommy who was sitting with Joel, the younger brother grinning widely at you.
The band started and you began to sing one of Joel’s favourite songs from before the outbreak - somehow, it sounded even better in your voice. Joel glared at Tommy when he realised what he had done, and Tommy just shrugged before looking back at you. He couldn’t stay mad at him though, because by the end of it he was entranced by the sweet melody of your voice and how gorgeous you looked singing your heart out under the lights.
You were beaming at the audience after finishing as they showered you with applause, though it took Joel a second to actually start clapping and stop staring at you.
He tried denying it, but, as cheesy as it sounds, it was love at first sight for him.
It scared him, definitely. It had barely been a year since he lost Tess, and although he wouldn’t go as far as saying they were in love, it was the closest thing he’d had to it in decades. To think he even liked you from just hearing you sing one song.. that fucking terrified him.
Which is why he kept his distance for so long. He didn’t know what to do with himself when he realised he actually liked you. He hadn’t had any sort of connection other than Ellie and Tommy in so long, and they were his family. You, though.. you were so different.
He sighed deeply before opening his eyes again, finishing his meal as he watched you smile and laugh in the snow through the window.
A week later, Tommy manages to convince Joel to come to the Tipsy Bison again, promising ‘no funny business’ to go on. Joel isn’t sure he’d really mind.
Time goes by quietly, a simple Monday afternoon not having much going on for them, but then you turn up. He sees you as soon as you walk through the doors, an unfamiliar tiredness in your eyes. It looks like you’ve been on a long patrol.
You look around before noticing Tommy and Joel, walking over with a small smile.
Joel stares daggers at Tommy. “You said no funny business,” he grits, a strange panic flooding his system. Did he brush his hair this morning? Do his clothes look tidy? Did he have anything in his teeth?
“Ain’t no funny business here, brother.” Tommy grins at him, not giving him a chance to reply as you get to their table.
“Hi Tommy!” You smile, hugging him before turning to Joel. “And Joel! It’s so great to see you!”
Joel blinks at you. Fuck, you’re talking to him. He needs to say something back.
“Yeah, you too.” He mumbles, clearing his throat awkwardly.
If you pick up on his discomfort, you don’t mention it, looking around before continuing.
“Are y’all stayin’?” You ask, now leaning forward a little with your palms on the table.
“As far as I’m concerned.” Tommy replies, to which you nod. “Y’ wouldn’t mind if I sit with ya, then?” You ask.
“Not at all, darlin’.” He says, and you slide into the booth with them, starting up a conversation about what you did today, mentioning that draining patrol you just got back from.
“I’m tellin’ ya - morning patrols are like hell on earth, Tommy. ‘S not fair to be makin’ us go out at 6 am.” You groan, to which he smiles. “Nothin’ a little coffee can’t fix.” Tommy replies, which makes you perk up.
“You have coffee? Since when?” You gasp, wide-eyed at him.
“New trade opened, and since Joel here is such an addict, we got our hands on some.” He gestures to Joel, and you look over at him, a smile creeping onto your face.
“I see.. being Tommy’s brother has its perks then? Got you hoarding all the coffee for yourself?” You tease, to which Joel chuckles quietly at, sitting up a little taller.
“Not hoardin’. Nobody else has asked for any.” He tells you, looking into your eyes and trying not to get lost in them for too long.
“And if I wanted some?” You say, tilting your head sideways slightly as it rests on your palm.
“Y’ always welcome to come get some, sweetheart.” He isn’t sure what possessed him to use the pet name with you, but he’s very thankful for it as a soft crimson paints your cheeks and you bite your lip to stop yourself from grinning like an idiot. “Well, thank you.” You reply, before a man comes over to get you your drink. “Whiskey, neat please.” You tell him and he goes off to get it. Joel is pleasantly surprised by your choice. He never really thought about what you might order from the bar, but the fact that you shared the same drink of choice made you even more attractive in his eyes.
2 hours later, Tommy had gone off to handle an issue with the council and you and Joel had been talking and drinking and laughing. It’s around 3 now and he barely realises in time for his afternoon patrol, finishing off his whiskey before telling you, noticing the slight sadness that appears on your face at him having to go.
“Oh! Alright then. I’ll see you around. Have a good patrol, Joel.” You smile at him, and he offers you a small smile back.
“See ya ‘round.” He says before leaving and going back to the stables.
Later that evening, Ellie somehow figures out what went down earlier at the bar (Joel’s already planning on giving Tommy a talking to tomorrow) and makes fun of him endlessly for it, saying that he was apparently so shy when he was talking with you.
“I’d have never thought that someone could make the big, bad Joel all nervous and flustered, but she just continues to prove me wrong. She’s definitely special, huh.” Ellie grins, before bidding Joel goodnight and leaving him with his thoughts.
He hated to admit it, but Ellie was right in saying that. You were special.
