How my video chat with the Tin Can Bros went 🐐💛
I got to talk to the three of them separately with a special guest (James and Mariah) so I'll put this into three sections (writing this down mostly for my awful memory, gonna be long)
Brian and James
First thing Brian said when the call started was "have you gotten any new tattoos since the last time we saw you?" A: No :(
He and James asked about Finland and what it is like
I was asked something about what is my fav thing about Finland (minus sauna) and I said the nature. I told them to visit northern Finland both during summer and winter cause the nature is fucking amazing, ok? They googled it and James said he's putting it on his list, lol
Brian asked while googling if I've ever been to the Snow Castle in Kemi, and I laughed a little and said I was actually born there so yeah, I've been there multiple times
I was also asked if there's something I'd like the rest of the world to know about Finland
I answered how I hate how other countries have turned saunas into a luxury item, when in Finland literally every house and apartment building has a sauna. Also told them the correct way to pronounce sauna
James asked me how I learned about TCB. Said I discovered SK in mid 2018 and somehow figured TCB was also a thing. He also asked how I got into Shipwrecked, and to that I just said Spies Are Forever. Brian nodded and said "they're cool"
(Honestly, I'm leaving so much out cause we really just talked about my country and how happy it is, lol)
Corey and Mariah
Brian and James left for another call once Corey and Mariah joined (I didn't expect them to do this call like this tbh /neutral)
Mariah was excited about the fact I'm Finnish, she was enjoying meeting people all over the world
Corey asked if I had any questions for them and I had to admit I suck at asking questions and never know what to say (he was cool with my child brain)
Mariah said she had so many questions she would have liked to ask me. She really liked looking at the wall behind me and seeing all the shit I have on there
Then my cat decided she wanted attention and hopped on the table and made herself known to them. Told them she was Lotta and she's 14
After a while Corey asked me what my fav project from the Tinlightenment was, and I said I've been most excited for Gross Prophets. Corey revealed it's going to be difficult to rehears it without an audience and it's apparently super silly (in a good way)
Before they left Mariah asked me what was my fav movie or musical or anything so she could get to know what I'm all about, so I excitedly told her about Tetsuo the Iron Man (more about this later)
Then Joey joined all alone and it was time for Corey and Mariah to leave
Joey
Joey didn't have a guest with him so it was just me and him on a call together. He complimented my long ass vampire nails
He heard us talking about movies and asked me about it, so I said how Mariah asked me about my fav movie
He got a little excited and asked me about it, so I told him about Tetsuo, and how it's one of those movies that you're either going to love cause how artistic it is, or say wtf did I just watch
He got intrigued and googled it and read its description. He was interested (pls google it)
He read reviews and said how it's either 5 stars or 1 star, and I told him it is very 50/50
He put it on his list and promised to tell me once he had watched it :3 (hopefully not on discord cause I don't use it, lol)
Then before time was up, he asked me about my hospital stay last year (which I didn't talk about publicly and he was one of the few people that knew about it). It was kinda nice of him to ask about it and ask if I was good now (I am)
One last thing he asked about before he had to leave was if I was going to the new Starkid concert this year, and I said no, unfortunately. Maybe he was little saddened about it, but he told me last year wasn't that long ago and we might see each other again at some point
Then he wished me a good rest of the day and told me we'd see each other soon (next month when I again embarrass myself in Quiplash)
One last note, but I was kinda surprised how Joey didn't apologise to me for the 100th time for something he promised me back in 2023 and still hasn't done it, especially since he seems to apologise about it any time we have an interaction, lol (but I'll talk about it more when that happens, shhh)
Sorry if it was all so long, but I did leave out stuff too, sksks. Honestly, I kinda needed this, it was nice talking to people and they're all so easy to talk to 💞 James and Mariah were a nice surprise, can't wait for Gross Prophets 👉👈

The Hatchetfield Theatrical Universe - Nightmare Time

Important news in what I am now dubbing the Hatchetfield Theatrical Universe/HTU(TM)!
StarKid is releasing 6 new musical shorts that take place in the town of Hatchetfield, the fictional location where The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals and Black Friday take place (albeit, in alternate realities but they’re essentially the same place).
When I first looked at the titles, the one that struck me the most was “Janes’ A Car”. If you’re familiar with the HTU, you’ll know that Jane is Emma’s older sister who died in a car crash. In both realities of TGWDLM and Black Friday, it is heavily implied that Jane’s death is the catalyst for setting both plots of the musicals into motion, seeing as her death is the one major detail that has remained the same in both musicals. Though the audience has never technically met Jane, we know that her death is the driving force of bringing together the cast of characters in both musicals that end up being the most involved in apocalyptic storylines. Going by the title alone, I have a feeling that this story, in particular, is going to be very Twilight Zone-esque in nature, and will most definitely tease us about StarKid’s upcoming Hatchetfield musical, Nerdy Prudes Must Die. It may not give us any answers as to why exactly Jane, and more specifically, her death, is so important in this universe and the group of people within it, but I feel like we will be getting just enough to expand upon or completely change theories about her and the HTU in general. Maybe, since she’s described by Emma as being the ‘good sister’, Jane is the nerdy prude that has to die in order to set everything into motion for the multiple universes of Hatchetfield? I’m putting my money on that.
I’m also very intrigued by “The Witch In The Web”. I may or may not be looking too much into it, but the word “Web” is ringing major bells for me, seeing as in Black Friday, Hannah has a mysterious, seemingly-omniscient friend(if you could call it that) named Webby, whose consciousness is connected to the Black and White that ties the multiple Hatchetfield universes together. That just leads to me to ask: Who is the witch in the web, and how does the witch connect to the Black and White?
A title that really surprised me was “Watcher World”, not because of its connection to the HTU, but because of StarKid’s previous use of the word ‘watcher’ in their shows. If you’re familiar with StarKid’s greater line of work, you may recall that The Watchers is a derogatory term used in The Trail to Oregon to refer to the audience and their cruel tendency to enjoy watching the characters of a story in pain. Those sick bastards…
And speaking of bastards, for no other reason than my own speculative enjoyment, I’m calling that “Time Bastard” has to do with fan-favorite General MacNamara, his work with PIEP, and his history with his husband, whose existence was cut from Black Friday due to time. Maybe he rencounters his former mentor Wilber Cross, who somehow turned into the Uncle Wiley we see in Black Friday. Maybe Cross and MacNamara’s husband are the same people, making Cross’ possession by the Black and White all the more personal for MacNamara, and dramatic for us, the watchers.
So many great things to look forward to from StarKid this month!
Let us take a moment to appreciate that StarKid has created an interconnected narrative universe using musical theatre as its medium of choice. And, not only is this musical theatre universe one of the first, if not the only, of its kind, the genre they chose to format this universe in is a musical horror-comedy with a healthy dose of sociopolitical commentary.
Eat your heart out, Marvel!
[I’ll post my next StarKid rewatch musical breakdown later tonight/tomorrow, but this is so exciting and important that I needed to document my thoughts ASAP. I was so excited about this that I accidentally deleted the first two versions of this post.]

Hmmmm let's go with Boubei! (haha i still need to watch that eventually :p)
Aaaah, thank you, Jenna! This is the one I was waiting for. XD (Yes, you should watchBoueibu at some point and then tell me what you think of it! ;P)
How I entered/learnedabout the said game/show/movie/etc of that fandom:
Let me take you back to Valentine’s Day 2015. I was waiting for Starkid to upload their new Trail toOregon musical, and I was in the mood to watch something cute and fluffy totreat myself in the meantime. I had been considering trying to get back intoanime again, so naturally I went looking through some deviantart polls forValentine’s Day anime recommendations. Because why not? It was a perfectopportunity.
Then, Isaw it. Someone highly recommending a hilarious new show about “gay magical boys”and that intrigued me. I hadn’t heard of magical boys before, so I was like“okay, this HAS to be good” and I Googled it and discovered that 6episodes had already come out. Perfect!
I watchedthe first episode and I laughed harder than I had in a long time. I was soamazed by how clever and whimsical the parody was that I kept watching all theway through. And I immediately called my older brother afterwards to explain tohim exactly what I had just watched because I thought he would appreciate it asmuch as I did. We were both laughing so hard, it was great. Best Valentine’s Day up to that point (especially since I began watching Coffee Prince later that night after watching the Starkid musical and that was a whole other world of beautiful). XD
I toldmyself I wouldn’t get involved with the fandom. This was going to be my privatespecial thing that gave me joy every week when I so desperately neededsomething as pure as magical boys saving the world with the power of love,since I was lacking so much light in my life then. I caved exactly three dayslater and dived head on into the Tumblr tag. Boueibu has since taken over mylife. I had also told myself I wouldn’t write fic, but I wanted to give somethingback to the wonderful, loving, and accepting community that I had found, so… Iended up getting in over my head with that, too. ;;v;;
And I’vemade (and keep making) so many amazing friends because of this series, so Ihave a lot to be grateful for.
Fave character:
I loveevery character in the series! Main characters, the loveless, animal mascots, side/guest/backgroundcharacters, even characters that didn’t get any lines because they were onlythere to fill in space. I love each and every one of them! They are all mybabies~
But…thanks to the otome game, Io is special.
I mean, one of my favorite scenes inthe anime is the bathroom scene in S1E3 because, Io, oh my god why, but thegame is something else. All of the moments in the Io/Ryuu route where Io talkedabout dressing Ryuu up in costumes to make money off him just made me go“omfg, child, what even are you?!”, but it was the moment where theygo shopping with protag-chan that really sealed it for me.
Io and Ryuu pick outan article of clothing that they think protag-chan should buy (Ryuu chooses askirt and Io chooses a sweater) and protag-chan has the option of choosing apair of shorts for herself. And if she chooses the shorts, Io commentssomething along the lines of “But aren’t they a bit short?” and myreaction was just “CHILD PLEASE! THEY ARE SHORTS! THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BESHORT! THAT IS THE POINT! AND THEY AREN’T EVEN THAT SHORT ON HER EITHER. OH MYGOD YOU POOR PRECIOUS THING. THAT’S IT YOU’RE MINE NOW. I AM ADOPTINGYOU.”
And therest is history.
Least fave character:
I don’thave a least favorite. I love them all.
OTP(s):
This is adangerous question. I multi-ship the crapout of this series. The only thing I don’t ship is incest and alienxhumanships. ;;v;; But I have my main go-to ships that I’ll mention because otherwisethis post would never end if I listed EVERY. SINGLE. SHIP. *sobbing in acorner*
Io/Ryuu
Akoya/Arima
En/Atsushi
Kinshirou/Haruand Aki
Yumoto/Megawa
Goura/MissBara Beach
Kou/Masuya
Since Ireceived another Ask requesting Boueibu, I’ll mention some other important ships there~
Pairing that everyonelikes but I don’t get:
Theonly thing I don’t ship is incest and alienxhuman ships. So, like…Goura/Yumoto and Aki/Haru are not my thing, though I know there are quite a lotof people who like them (not “everyone”, of course, but enough peoplefor it to count for this question). I also remember seeing some Yumoto/Wombat,but I haven’t really seen any other aliens being shipped with humans so far.But yeah, that’s not my thing either, though I don’t know if it’s still somethingpeople ship?
Fave thing about thefandom:
I love how accepting, loving, and supportive the fandom wasduring season 1. It was like having a small family here and it was a beacon of light in a very dark time for me. Ever since season 2, I’vebeen a bit distant from the fandom for personal reasons, but it’s still reallycomforting to see that there are still so many people trying to make this fandoma welcoming place. ;;w;;
The most despisedthing:
I couldhave definitely done without the violence/aggressiveness, especially regardingthe twins, ever since season 2 started airing. I had to retreat from the fandomwhile that happened because I didn’t really like being called an “abuseapologist” and other downright uncalled-for things for liking the twins orfor simply liking what the season had to offer. Thankfully, that has died downquite a bit in the last few months, but I still occasionally see things that makeme feel a bit alienated. For my own health, I’ve just learned how to seek outthe good things and avoid/ignore the bad, though. Everyone is absolutely entitled to their opinion, but bullying people over a difference in opinions is something that should never happen and now I’m wary of certain subjects because of it. ^^’
If there is somethingI would change from said game/show/movie/etc., what would it be:
Oh god, Idon’t even want to answer this question, so I’ll keep it short.
The cuddlejokes in season 1 got out of hand real fast and started to make meuncomfortable about halfway through (even though I appreciated how it was used to subvert common shota tropes), so I was glad that they toned it down alot in season 2. Though, the dead sensei jokes increased to compensate, itseems. Please let Tawarayama-sensei live. He has a family. They miss him somuch. Think of the children. AND, HONESTLY, HE COULD BE SUCH A GREAT MENTOR TOTHE BOYS IN THIS SITUATION IF GIVEN THE CHANCE.
Otherwise,the writing in season 2 could have been a bit stronger. I think the staff didthe best they could with the time and resources they had and I appreciate itgreatly, but it could have been paced a bit differently to give each of thecharacters a proper focus. I won’t go into detail about that because I don’twant to spoil it anymore for you and, also, I really don’t want to talk about myopinions publicly. ;v;
Most of myconcerns/issues with the series will eventually be addressed in my series rewrite anyway… where I simultaneously proceed tomake few things better and everything worse. //bricked
Feelfree to send me more fandoms~
