bruhbruhbruhbruhbruh (note, when i say strategic/balanced in the below, i really just mean varied based on what fits them, im not that great at teambuilding for complex play quq)

merc: the elves are usually related to nature but her style is much more along the lines of elegance and royalty, so a team along those lines- serperior, roserade, kingdra, hatterene, sirfetch'd, alolan ninetails

aran: she strikes me as an early game ice gym leader, and she'd prolly use snom, snorunt, and piloswine as her ace. for her own personal team though... shes very burst-based for her attacks, so i think her team is a lot of powerhouses- lucario, mammoswine, kommo-o, metagross, nidoking, luxray

phan: he's that guy that only uses one type and that type is dark type because its fucking dark type- drapion, tyranitar, obstagoon, zoroark, mightyena, weavile

lumi: the closest equivalent to light/dark is the dichotomy between fairy and dark? but he would focus on having a fleshed out team (something something balancing light and dark, really i was thinking more just him being strategic but it works out huh)- alcremie, bisharp, amped toxtricity, appletun, golisopod, chandelure

evan: he chooses pokes based on how cool or cute they are and has absolutely no team building strats beyond that- shaymin, clefable, skarmory, corsola, miltank, dubwool

eun: hes resourceful, and makes do with his situation the best he can- essentially a nuzlocker, but less death bc he deserves it :( and part of said resourcefulness speaks to me as the "sticks with early game hard to train later fucking powerhouses" type- gallade, scolipede, flygon, absol, corviknight, breloom

freud: even if he wouldnt totally be the dragon gym leader, he would be tempted to make his whole team dragons- hes the brains of the group so he has a more strategic team, but rest assured he has every pseudo-legendary dragon he can get (which is the grand majority of dragon types lmao)- hydreigon, darmanitan, sylveon, vileplume, froslass, milotic
