I do want to say that while it’s completely fair to mourn the loss of a smaller more tight-knit fandom especially one that stayed niche for a very long time you really gotta at least be reasonable in how you treat people coming into something new and fresh even if the influx of new fans makes things feel completely different. Like I get it, there really is a completely different feeling between small fandoms and you gotta deal with a lot more unpleasantness when things get bigger. I don’t think its wrong to be upset about losing that especially if you’ve been into something for years and really involved in the more bite-sized community but like. Do reserve those complaints as personal feelings and gripes and not like its an actual stain on people getting into something later

#saying this as someone not very involved in the fandom side ever because its just not my thing often #I also prefer the small fandom feeling and recognizing people etc etc its nicer and more pleasant #and its also a lot easier to avoid dealing with people who have bad takes on things lol #so like i get it. it sucks to lose that. but like. maybe dont intentionally try to imply being a new fan makes someone like lesser #fine to have gripes with all. not fine to bring it up as a weird gotcha at new fans #overall i think this is just something you see with any kinda thing thats been around a while and especially things that have started #getting more traction but its just not something that should ever be targeted *at* someone #pet peeve is fine i have it too but like. not really something to be used as a talking point #i was gonna make this unrebloggable but i accidently turned the legacy editor on and dont feel like retyping so w/e
