#i was going to do izana but i have no clue what to write for that man

what do you think are ran, sanzu and izanas type personality wise and physically wise?

It was not my intentions to make fun of anyone's body type this is just what I think they prefer and I tried to word it as nicely as I could. So please don't come for my head.

I do hope you like this and sorry for the wait. Been really busy but is getting back on the writing grind.

I also didn't know what time line you wanted so I did think a lot about like Bonten time line for Sanzu and then Izana is the main time line we see him in. Then Ran is just whatever time line I feel like.

warnings: Clubs, drugs, Just all of Sanzu's part, body type talking, violence/fighting not in depth. I don't know if anything else.

Ran- Personality: Someone who is more up spirited (don’t know if that's the best word for this or not). Like someone who likes going out and doing things. He does seem like the one who likes doing things but he's not. He rather be at home napping or just in his bed. He likes someone who is going to get him to go and do things with them. Even if he may seem like he doesn’t enjoy it, he does.

Someone who is independent. He much rather have someone who doesn’t constantly need his attention and needs him there. Like they can do their own thing and only need him there with them here and there.

Someone who can take care of themselves. Let's be honest. He has been taking care of Rindou for how long. He probably actually likes being taken care of, to a certain level. Now if you're telling him he needs to do this and this and this. Then he is going to get pissed. But if you just make him his dinner or get him clothes while he goes take a shower and things like that. He likes that.

Someone who knows how to fight. He doesn’t really want someone who he has to protect constantly. Now he will be here and there but he can’t be with you always so he rather have someone who knows that can fight. Now you don’t have to constantly get in fights. No. Just as long as someone is picking a fight with you. You can bite back. He’ll help if he needs to.

A yapper. He probably does like someone who yaps. Like you are making dinner and he is sitting near the kitchen and you're just yapping about your day. I could see him liking that. Or at night where you both are in bed together and you're just going on about whatever. He may look annoyed but he is paying attention to what you say and is keeping it for later for him to use.

Physical: I feel like I’m going to get beat for this. But let me explain before you start fighting me. But if we are talking about females and male. I see him liking both but more towards females. But if we add everything else definitely non-binary. I can see him really into a non-binary person. I don’t know why I just do.

But anyways.

Someone who is tiny than him. I think he likes being taller. Like you can be more fit than him, he just wants to be taller. This would probably tie into the personality but I see him liking someone who is a little fit. Like not someone who is super out of shape.

Now if you have a bit more meat on you I see him liking that too. As long as you're not super over weight and like not able to move.

I don’t really see him having a specific body type he likes. Just someone who isn’t overweight to the point they can’t move.

Sanzu- Personality: Sanzu…… Are you sure you want him?

Man probably likes someone who is down to do anything with him. A daredevil to be honest. Like you down to go pop this new drug that just came out. No clue what the effects are but. Now he won’t try to put you in too much danger to the point where there is a big chance of you dying. Unless you're down bad for that. But even then. I don’t think he could mentally take that. If you died since he wanted to experiment on something crazy like that.

Independence. This man probably doesn’t even know how to take care of himself. Let alone his lover. Someone who is able to just cook, clean, and take care of yourself.

Motherly/fatherly/parently. Definitely likes someone who takes care of him. Cook, clean, bring him inside from coming home high as fuck. Follower. Definitely like someone who follows what he says and does.

He rather has someone who listens to him and if he says to do something will do it. Now he won’t make you do anything serious like killing someone. But I like to go with him as he gets his drugs from his dealer or to sit with him in a club that his gang has.

A tiny bit of a yapper. He likes someone who talks but doesn’t talk his ear off like Ran does. He much rather have someone who will start a conversation but also likes silence between the two of you. Also probably not a good thing to talk his ear off while he is high since he does get angry and irritated quicker.

Physical:

Likes everyone and everything. Probably doesn’t care about your gender. (I mean he is literally obsessed with Mikey, so to be expected).

I can see him liking someone who has more meat on their bones. Like even if you're not fit or are fit. More meat the better for him.

Even though he does like someone who has more meat on them I can see him liking them and having curves. Plump people with curves. Man is on the floor. Probably likes people taller and shorter than him. Doesn’t really have a preference.

I don’t feel like I can say much more for this man. He doesn’t really care for the most part. Would probably date anyone but if he had to pick a type. Would be plump and curved.

Izana- Personality:

Semi-Independent. This man wants you to be independent but to a certain level. He likes having control over you but will also let you have independence. One thing is that he likes knowing where you are at all times but will let you go out and hangout with people of your choice. He won’t pick who you hangout with unless they are telling you something that he doesn’t like then he will step in. Definitely likes you asking for him to help you with something.

Clingy. I could see him liking someone who wants to be near him. Not the clingy type where you always want to be on him. He doesn’t mind hand holding but not every single minute. Now you are next to his side that he can get down for.

Quiet. I see him liking more silence in relationships. Just saying a few words here and there. I see him liking making little motions with hands and things to show what you mean or want. Now I’m not saying you have to be quiet the whole time. He likes hearing you talk just not constantly. But at night, as long as he doesn’t have the gang over, I see him liking to hear you talk. Or when you guys are having dinner together. Loves hearing you talk about your day.

Mid spirited (still don’t know if using correctly but its okay). I see him liking his lover staying home more. I don’t know why but I see him just wanting to stay home with his lover. Just watching a movie together on the couch rather than wanting to go to a club together, like someone in this list (Sanzu). Now that's not saying that he won’t go anywhere. He doesn’t mind. He doesn’t want to be out all night and all day. You want to go to the park for the evening, that's fine. He's down for that. They have a festival and you want to go out for a bit. Sure he'll join. Just doesn’t want to be out all day and all night.

Physical:

I can see him leading more into females. Very rarely dating a guy unless having a really good relationship with them. Don’t know why I just do.

I think it's because he would like someone he thinks is weaker than him. Liking someone who isn’t very fit. Someone he has to protect.

Likes being the taller and more in fit person of the relationship. Just wants someone smaller and weaker than him.

I don’t think he would care if you are more plump or skinny. I think as long as he is able to drag you and be stronger than you. I think he is fine with how your body looks.

So izana call for tenjiku for a meeting cause he has to announce something or well more like kakucho and they both announce that they need someone to watch over izana baby brother (name) and the reason they can’t is because they are both sick and shion sees this as an opportunity to get on izana best side (cause it’s canon that shion has respects for izana) and immediately volunteers to babysit (name) even thought shion has no clue on how to take care of children

I can imagine that shion struggles a lot with making sure (name) is happy, clean, and fed and maybe when it comes to feeding (name) instead of normal baby food shion is feeding (name) a cheeseburger and other solid foods and surprisingly (name) is eating the solid foods

And due to izana and kakucho not being able to relax cause they fear what shion is doing they secretly send the rest of tenjiku to keep on eye on shion and this is how it would go

Shion: *holding (name) and feeding him a cheeseburger* oh hey guys what’s up?

Ram: why are you feeding (name) a cheeseburger

Shion: cause (name) likes them right (name)

(Name): *nods*

And maybe when izana and kakucho fully recovered from their cold they immediately rush to shion apartment and they see shion sleeping on the couch while (name) is sleeping so peacefully on top of him and when they both wake up and izana picks up (name) and start to leave (name) says his first words which were uncle shion while waving goodbye

Okay I had to get a small bit of help with this one. Since I don't know much about writing for children but it was still a lot of fun. Enjoy!

When the upper members of Tenjiku got the call about their being an emergency meeting, they were confused. They didn't remember a recent gang trying anything. But when they saw Izana and Kakucho wearing masked, and little (Name) walking behind them. They had a feeling they knew what this meeting was about.

"I'm just gonna cut to the chase. Kakucho and I have pretty bad colds. So we need someone to look after (Name)."

The little white hair toddler just hid behind his older brother. Shy. The others shared some looks. When the Haitani brothers were about to agree, Shion beat them to the punch.

"I'll watch him for you." Everyone turned to the him. Confused. Why would he volunteer to watch (Name)?

"If it's for Izana I'll do whatever I can to help." Ah. There it is. His loyalty to their leader is clouding his thought. Izana though just nodded and lightly pushed (Name) in Shion's direction.

The toddler stared at his brothers before slowly walking up to Shion. They stared at each other for a few moments until Shion picked him up. The others flinched as Shion carried (Name) like a briefcase.

Izana immediately looked at the others. Coughing a little and pointed after the leaving figures. "Watch them. If anything happens to (Name). You'll be sorry."

As Shion made his way into his apartment he carefully placed (Name) on the couch. "Now. What to do with you....do you like video games?"

(Name) just stared. Shion shook his head. "Okay no video games. How about....Oh! A new horror movie just came out do you want to watch it?"

That was his mistake on the first day. Was having (Name) watch a horror movie. Poor thing didn't last the first 20 minutes before getting scared so badly he wet himself.

Shion was lucky Mochi was "in the neighborhood" and decided to check in on them. After the lecture and scolding Mochi gave him Shion decided against watching anymore scary movies.

His mistake the second day was food and bathing. Since Shion had given (Name) miso soup he had the night before. Shion didn't really have anything he could feed him. He also didn't know what the tot could eat.

Thats how the Haitani brothers "accidentally" found them at the fast food joint by Shion's place. The brother didn't know how to feel when they saw a dirty (Name) being feed a cheeseburger. Ran thought he was gonna faint.

When Shion saw the brothers he placed down the cheeseburger, andwaved at them. "Hey guys. What's going on?" When they came over Shion went back to feeding (Name). "Shion...why are you feeding (Name) a cheeseburger?" Ran asked with an indifferent look.

Shion shrugged. "Because he likes them. Isn't that right bud?" (Name) looked up, mouth full of cheeseburger and nodded. Rindou cringed. "Then why is he so filthy?" Shion scratchedthe back of his head.

"Well we came from the park. I didn't know what kids liked to do, so I just took him to the park." Rindou pinched the bridge of his nose, under his glasses and sighed. "Well he needs a bath. Pronto." Shion nodded and finished feeding (Name) the burger.

Shion did bathe (Name) when they got home. But he just took a shower and brought the tot with him honestly. Shion was dirty too, so he thought why not kill two birds with one stone.

That was their routine for the next few days. Shion would feed him and (Name) whatever food he had. Then they'd either watch TV or go to the park. Later Shion would wash them both and feed them again. (Name) wasn't going to lie. He was having a lot of fun with his new Uncle.

So when at the end of the week, Izana ad Kakucho came to get (Name) he was kinda sad. He had fun with Uncle Shion. Especially since he would let (Name) eat whatever he wanted, and would take him to the park when he asked.

As his brother picked him up, after thanking the other male for looking after him. (Name) wanted to do something before they left.

"B-Bye! Uncwe Shi!"

Shion's face had lit up so fast. Izana and Kakucho just stared at the waving toddler. "Did he just?" Izana glared heavily at Shion. Then stomped out of the room. Kakucho sighed and followed after them. Great. Now the older male was gonna throw a tantrum.

My first impression

Good model/mentor figure that positively influenced everyone he was around of. Here to fit his archetype more than to be an actual character - he's dead anyway - but he's the type of character I rarely love to know more about and grow to be more complex even if it really happens because creators love to keep mentors mysterious—

My impression now

I love Wakui's capacity to write realistic characters SO MUCH.

Original timeline was such a gift, I hold it very dearly in my heart. My favorite timeline potential-speaking; there's so many things we don't know about and can speculate on! Marvelous.

Anyway, back to Shinichiro. He is so real. I was so happy when he turned out to be explored like the other characters and to be actually flawed (not excusable lovable flaws like being bad with girls and in fight). He's one of the most interesting character and should be put under several microscopes and observed by several scientists.

He's, he's just... AAAAAHH. He's so good, his character is so good. I need him to get darker but at the same time I just want him happy.

His childhood was taken away from him and the fact that he turned to delinquency to cope (later on, encouraging at least a dozen of kids to do the same) should be talk about more.

He - unconsciously, unintentionally - gave the responsibility of his mental well-being to Mikey. I know they didn't help in the original timeline, but I hope he did go to therapies in the final one

Favorite thing about that character

Same thing as you anon; the complexityyyyy

I love subversion of expectation. I love when seemingly perfect characters who are idolized by everyone turn out not to be that perfect. How I accurately came up with the hypotheses he was the other Time Leaper. How the story wouldn't exist if it wasn't for him not being able to grieve Mikey - not being able to withstand losing his entire family.

He lost his dad, he was the one taking care of his mom until she passed too, had had to raise his siblings when he wasn't yet an adult, he couldn't handle losing his brother he raised as a son, he didn't know how to handle the Izana-situation, he didn't have a proper reaction to Sanzu's scars. The way he first learnt to deal with grief was to become a delinquent and form a gang. Don't get me started on what Black Dragon is IRL.

He tried. He'd tried everything for his loved-ones but he was also a teen, then a young adult, and you can't expect him to be able to handle it.

Also, the fact that no character will tell you about that or talk about Shinichiro without being biased because they all respect and idolize him I- The narrative doesn't want you to know about how he really was, because the characters that talk about him didn't know about it. The only way to catch a glimpse of it, to know more about it is Original timeline. And I think that's very neat tbh

Objectively, I love it, but subjectively the way he dealt with some situations... argh. He's not that good at knowing and understanding social clues. Could've handle the whole situation with Sanzu better, out of everything else.

For some reasons, Maria from Maria no Danzai. I think. I think they'd get along. I think Shinichiro would've done the same - or similar stuffs - if he had lost Mikey in a similar way Maria lost her son. I think we should be very glad Shinichiro didn't actually have a villain arc (not one we saw at least) because he would've gone very far into the darkness me think. Me think the curse is just Mikey turning how Shinichiro would've turned had Mikey not been around so me think Shinichiro has problems

A headcanon about that character

If he ever has a gun in his hands, he'd be way too good at firing it.

Actually struggles with empathy and figuring out other ppl's emotions & feelings. But he has sympathy and compassion so he balances it out. A friend introduced me to autistic Mikey HC, so naturally, my mind went to autistic Shinichiro. Ranting about it will probably take too long here tho

His nickname for Takeomi is 'Omin' (Takeomi doesn't really like it bc it sounds more and more childish with the 'n' as they grow up. Excepted for final timeline where Takeomi has learnt not to care about other people's opinions)

it's in heat of the moment, he's too distracted by the glint of the necklace on your collarbones and the 24 karat rings on your pretty, manicured hands. all of it, something he gifted you a while back. he loves when you're adorned in whatever he buys you. of course, he still thinks you look beautiful when you're not bedazzled. but he can't help the pure adoration that thrums through his veins nor the grin that pulls at his lips whenever he sees you wearing anything he's handpicked.

even without saying those three heavily imbued words, there’s love that undeniably shines the brightest in his sharp eyes. and when he realizes his words, he doesn't try to brush it off.

to his amusement, you shy away from his gaze and grow skittish. koko has always been bold with his actions and words, it’s no surprise to you, but it does nothing to stop the way your heart reels. with a pounding heart and sweaty palms, planting a soft kiss on his lips is enough to say those same words back.

it slips through when you’re telling him about the things you love, it's been a long night, his shop is closed and you both don't have the means to leave. you're going on about the new pet you'd just adopted, it's habits and how cute it looks while curled up and asleep on your bed.

internally, he blames it on the haze of exhaustion that's clouding his brain when you turn to him puzzled, but more so shocked. there's a few beats of silence but it dissolves once you let out a soft giggle. his heart nearly stutters out of his chest, he can't really tell if it's out of fear or how wide your smile is.

but his worries flit away when you murmur those words back to him, your face a mere inches away from his. you're so close that he can take in evey breathtaking feature of yours, so close that he can feel your breath tickling his lips. and you repeat it again, happiness engraved into every syllable. when draken tips closer to press his lips against yours, he selfishly wishes for this moment to never end.

shinichiro sano ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

it's every second of the day. it's custom for him, imprinted into his every cell, there's no reason for him not to, especially when he knows that you feel the same way.

this time around, your eyes have barely cracked open. harsh sunlight seeps through the room's blinds and you're one-hundred percent sure you look like a mess, sleep still embedded into your eyes. but somehow, shinichiro seems to think otherwise as he noses at the curve of your cheek.

all it takes is a 'good morning and 'i love you' for you to turn and melt into his arms. he's warm and just him and you can't help but to be pulled back into a tunnel of sleep.

that is until a loud bang causes your eyes to fly open. the sound's located somewhere far off in the kitchen. already knowing, you let out a low groan. mikey and emma were off to their antics way too early.

shinichiro let's out an airy chuckle before pressing a kiss on the slope of your neck. you nearly nod off again but his gruff voice interrupts you before you really can. "i guess it's time to wake up." you silently wish that you didn't have to agree.

kazutora hanemiya

it's reassurance for you and himself. there's plenty of times in which insecurity holds him in a vice grip. you both could be on a stroll, watching television or any ordinary deed and he's blurting out those three words.

you're used to this, used to him and you're sure to say those words back without missing a beat. there's nothing but unfeigned truth laced into your tone, it washes over him, sending warmth flowing through his body. he wants to osmosis those words into his skin, to never forget them.

slowly but surely, those threads of self doubt unwrap themselves from his mind and he lets out a satisfied hum. he has a habit of burying his head in the crook of your shoulder, embarrassment finally setting in, the gesture is still irredeemably precious. you know what comes after; he's now reticent, consumed in his own thoughts, thoughts that don't hold anymore bitter hues.

he loves you more than he loves himself, it's obviously not healthy but he doesn't have to think about that right now. because he's with you now, curling into your never ending warmth.

You just wanted to check up on him. He'd been so distant lately and this is how he thanks you? You were so worried. Anger boiled up inside of you as you stared at the man in front of you.

His expression was blank. He was going to snap soon. patience was wearing thin for both parties. He didn't exactly have a good day. Things went terribly wrong today and Baji Keisuke had died a few months prior and he was cycling through the stages of grief. The last thing he needed was for you to show up out of the blue like this and confront him now

But it's not like you knew this. You knew Baji had died and you were still easing through grief yourself. God you missed him, but you were coming to terms with the fact that there was no way to turn back time and save him. Mikey was still coping with this. They were best friends. of course this was something that would affect him way more than it would affect you.

"Huh? Are you really telling me this? Mikey I've been so worried about you and this is the thanks I get? I came here to check up on you and even took the day off to spend it with you. I could've been spending my time in so many other ways but I came to check up on you because I care about you!" you yelled you were angry to the point of yelling. Things were getting more and more tense.

Anger boiled inside of him. it was becoming unbearable. "And guess what? I don't care. I don't care that you took all this time off for me. Absolutely no one asked you to be a tragic hero and try to fix me. I don't need fixing. So, I'll say this one more time because apparently you don't know how to take a hint. Go. away." he hissed as his smile turned into a frown.

"Baji wouldn't have wanted you to push us away, you know. He would have-" you began.

However you weren't able to finish your sentence as you felt a stinging sensation on your cheek.

"Shut up! You don't know what he would've wanted! I don't know! You don't fucking know either! Ok?" he hissed as he narrowed his eyes at you. "You don't understand now and you'll never understand! So don't tell me that he wouldn't want me to act like this or whatever! Got it! Because you will never FUCKING know." he growled as he went to point at you.

Suddenly, he was brought back to reality by the sound of you whimpering as you covered your head, attempting to protect yourself. You were too afraid to say anything else to further upset him. You tried so hard not to cry, but with the stinging paired with fear tears cascaded down your face as you attempted to protect yourself from him. "Please don't hurt me.. I'm sorry" you apologized

"Oh god..." he trembled. "oh god, oh god, oh god. what have I done? y/n I'm so sorry." Mikey's eyes widened as he looked at your shaking form in front of him. He attempted to reach out and hold you, however his sudden movement scared you, causing you to flinch.

It was then that he realized the damage he'd done. Guilt hit him like a semi truck. "baby please don't cry. I'm so sorry I let this happen. I never meant to hurt you." he choked out, voice wavering. At that moment all of his emotions that he had been bottling up came pouring out like a waterfall. all the anger, despair, loneliness, and guilt finally made themselves known.

Seeing him break down in front of you made you realize how much he was truly hurting. "P-Please don't go. I'm so sorry." he whimpered. "I never meant for you to see me like that. I'm a monster god I'm so sorry." he apologized. The more you saw him break down the more you realized how bad he truly felt about this.

So, you resigned even though alarm bells were still softly blaring in your head and allowed yourself to be embraced by him. "Don't leave me... please" he whimpered. At this point you both were crying, though neither of you cared that your jackets were getting wet. you weren't sure what to say.

So, you decided not to say anything and let him calm down as you attempted to calm down yourself. Once you both calmed down, Mikey pulled away to look you in the eyes. "Please don't go... I can't lose you too" he begged as he held your face in his hands. He was trembling, absolutely terrified of what he'd done to you. You were his lifeline. He needed you. "I've got you. I promise I'm not going anywhere. I care about you, Mikey, and it hurts to see you like this." you sighed as you gazed at him with a soft expression.

It was then Mikey broke down again. though not for the same reason. It was because he was so grateful he had someone like you by his side. Someone so forgiving and compassionate. "I love you" he whimpered. "Thank you"

Things weren't always like this. You were sure of it. But lately your nights were filled with screaming and harsh words. Despite this it was never anything too bad. Either he'd apologize with a bouquet of red tulips, white orchids, and purple hyacinths or a teddy bear and chocolates

But this... this was too far.

You don't really remember how it happened if you were honest. One moment you were having a peaceful conversation. However the moment you brought up Mikey since you'd recently met him at your school.

That's when the mood got sour. He'd said a few things and you retorted with your own set of phrases. Soon the fight grew personal. things were going too far. Both of you were saying things you really didn't mean, but since you both were in the heat of the moment there was no longer a filter stopping you from saying those harsh words and phrases.

Things peaked when he harshly shoved you against the wall in a fit of rage. You were terrified of him, but you didn't dare let him know that. you tried to shove him away but he slapped you. That's when you have had enough. You packed your things, not saying a word to him. Then, when he was asleep you quietly made your escape.

When he woke up however he was shocked and scared. He looked around the shared apartment. there were no signs of you anywhere. His chest rose and fell rapidly as he tried to figure out his next steps, but his thoughts were preventing him from doing so.

Has he finally done it? Had he finally driven you away to the point of never wanting to see him again? He understood if you did. He knows that what he did wasn't right, but he still wanted to make one final attempt at reconciliation and if it failed, all he could do was accept that.

But where have you gone? He had no absolute clue, however he knew you were good friends with Kakucho, so he dialed up his best friend, praying to whatever cruel god was out there that you were at least still alive and safe.

After a few rings Kakucho picked up. In a panicked state he began explaining what he had done, though Kakucho stopped him. "they don't want to see you right now. Leave them alone." he replied, clearly feeling bad for the other party. "Are they with you?" he asked. "No" he replied. "Are you lying to me?" Izana asked. "no." he sighed. "Where do you think they would go if they had no where else to go, Izana?" Kakucho asked.

Their parents. The answer was glaringly obvious but he was so panicked it didn't even cross his mind. "But, Izana now is not the time. Please. Give it a few days. Imagine how they feel." Kakucho replied. "fine..." he sighed.

The next few days Izana spent thinking of what to say and how to apologize. The more he thought over that night, the more he realized he fucked up. As he sat at a table at a cafe that had been your first date with him, he saw you crossing the road, talking with Kokonoi and Inui who also happened to be your friends.

However the more he looked the more he realized that even though you were smiling it wasn't reaching your eyes. It then dawned how much he had truly hurt you. He then raced towards you, not caring if others were watching.

He didn't give a fuck about how crazy he looked in that moment as he sprinted towards you because he knew that if he prolonged this any longer it would only hurt you even more. "y/N!" he yelled, causing you to jolt, effectively capturing your attention as well as Inui and Kokonoi's as well.

"The hell do you want?" Kokonoi hissed as he protectively put his arm in front of you. "Can't you see they don't want to see you! You slapped them and hurt them and you have the AUDACITY to come out here and follow us!?" "Koko... it's ok. Thank you for caring about my safety" you smiled softly at the taller man while Inui glared at Izana. "Fuck this up and I promise you, you won't be allowed to be even within a continent of them" Inui growled before they walked away, allowing the two fo you your privacy.

The two of you then decided to talk it over at the cafe he'd been sitting at. As the two of you sat down, it was then you finally got a good look at him. There were bags under his eyes, his hair was disheveled, and he was distraught.

"y/n I'm so sorry. You deserve so much better... It wasn't your fault to begin with. This whole mess was my fault and... and it wasn't your fault. It was never your fault. I was out of line. God you must hate me... you can't even look at me in the eyes." he mumbled as he let out a sad chuckle.

He felt his chances growing smaller and smaller with each passing minute. He was sure this was the end. The more he thought about it, the more he should've seen this coming. He was so harsh to you, spewing insult after insult at you, yet you always came back to him every time.

The silence was suffocating him. 'Just end it already' he thought to himself as he gazed up at you. 'I can't take it anymore. It hurts.' "Izana '' You spoke up finally, causing him to jolt as he slowly looked up at you. "I think I finally understand you… you’re scared.” you looked down at your lap. Just where were you going with this? He didn’t know. “You’re scared of being happy because the last time you were happy everything came crashing down like a castle of sand… That’s gotta be the reason you keep hurting me right? That’s what I keep telling myself anyway. But every single time this happens the harder it is for me to trust you. To trust that you even care about me anymore. You always tell me you love me, Izana, but I don’t know if I believe it anymore” you sighed as you began tearing up.

The more you spoke the more he realized how badly he fucked up. “I thought this was real, was this real? Or were you just using me just like everyone else? Were you using me to get happy? It’s getting difficult and I’m not sure how long I can keep doing this… especially after you won’t even allow me to meet new people” you muttered. “y/n… I’m so sorry” he sighed, running his hand through his hair. “I never realized you felt this way… god you should’ve told me” “You never cared enough to ask” you muttered.

Izana then got up from his seat across from you before he took you in his arms. He knew the damage he’d done was irreparable, but at least he could try to make it up to you in other ways. “I’m so sorry I made you think I never loved you. God I never meant for that to happen. You’re my home, y/n. I should’ve been more open… I shouldn’t have let my fears take over, I’m sorry. And I know ‘sorry’ isn’t what you want to hear from me right now, but I promise I still love you and I promise I’ll never let this happen again” he choked as he shook his head, truly feeling bad for what he’d done to you. “Izana… please can’t we just go back to how things were when we first fell in love?” you whispered. “I’m sorry… I don’t think that’s possible, but I promise I’ll give you the best possible future.. Just don’t leave. Please” he begged, his voice growing softer towards the end of his sentence.

“Ok… Just know that I’m going to make sure you keep your promise” you smiled, the same smile he’d fallen for when he was child. “I will. Thank you” he smiled.

“You idiot… you broke our promise” you sobbed as you knelt at his grave, holding a bouquet of red tulips and stargazer lilies close to your chest.

this is my second blog / active writing blog so i decided to post it here! :)

It’s been two days. And not even a whisper of your name in the wind was heard by Izana.

He was growing antsy. Albeit he’d rather die than admit it. Bad mouthing you as pure venom dripped from his lips. Eyes hard and fists clenched as he avoided the sofa he’d push you off from. He didn’t dare step foot into your room. Opting to play commander a bit more and stay up late planning his attack on Toman with Kisaki.

He looked mad- livid as Kaku would be even lucky enough to see Izana give quick- almost non existent glances towards the door. Or maybe how yes, he would avoid your room but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t hover in the general vicinity.

Kaku knew he was hurt. Didn’t have to see or hear it. But he could sense it. Hell even he was hurt when you left.

But Izana was destroyed when you ‘ran away’.

You had abandoned him. Just like his mother… You said you were different. That everything was different. Death til’ you part and all the shitty crap you promised each other one drunken night. You were supposed to stay by him. Him and Kaku were supposed to be your only friends.

So why? Why did you have to leave him behind?

Two days ago… He remembers what happened the day you disappeared. Two days ago, when Izana had given Kisaki the order to eliminate his sister. His own flesh and blood- to just hurt Mikey. Kisaki’s strange partner lighting up with glee from the order.

Hours passed. He remembers you told him you were going to the store for something- running the executives errands again as you only gave him a smile, oblivious to the fact that he had put a hit on his own sister.

Kaku noted how you squeezed your phone in longing. Stopping yourself from running up to him to give him a warm goodbye hug. He remembered what happened before. The frost barren man had pushed you away with a face of disgust. Effectively humiliating you in front of his men. You slept on the couch that night, of your own accord.

… He remembers when Kisaki and Hanma came back. Informing Izana that now there was nothing in his way to power. Nothing.

Kakucho might be a bad guy… but that sentence- that determined look that cut into his very being made Kaku sick.

He had a bad feeling about this.

And his suspicions were right, of course. You didn’t call, you didn’t return.

And as much as Izana could push your essence away- only Kaku and Kisaki could tell that he was getting restless.

But he had a fight to win.

Hanma would sneak Izana glances, giggling into his hands as Kaku kept his eyes trained ahead. The latter hadn’t said a word yet, too focused on staring ahead as they all made their way to the meeting place.

But Kaku- he couldn’t help but rack his brain for something- anything that would give a clue to get him out of this slump. He seemed fine- almost too fine when he ordered Emma to get killed- so what was this?

He went after you.. He remembers now. He claimed he was seeing an old friend as he left the warehouse, but Kaku knew he didn't have any besides him so he figured he just went after your tear stricken face.

(He doubts Izana even noticed)

The latter denied it as he continued prepping.

“Iz “

“Tenjiku!”

God fucking damnit takemichi.

The battle ensued, Takemichi holding a heavy weight on his chest as you were just pronounced.

How could he? How could Izana kill his own partner? What would possess him to do such a thing? Emma was safe without a scratch… Well that's a lie. She had horrible scratches and bruises from being forcefully pushed into the road…

But you… they tried to help you- the doctors. Mikey didn't leave your side- claiming that you were now family since you knew of his brother and how you saved the life of Emma, who finally had another friend. And you were just- just so cold. Someone like you wasn’t supposed to be cold.

The battle roared, men dropping like flies as one by one, the Tenjiku executives were brought down in the light of justice.

But it wasn't until Kaku had challenged Takemichi that he let the secret loose.

“How could you do that… How could you do that to your own friend?”

“…What the hell are you talking about?”

Kaku didn't want him to answer, his mind already searching for answers as to what he was referring to. But out of so many possibilities- out of so many people to choose from- he already knew.

“…What did you do?” Kaku whispered, voice caught in his throat with disbelief. No. This couldn’t be true. Please tell him that he’s over reacting.

“No Kaku, what did you do? The hit meant for Emma, Y/N saved her and…” Takemichi couldn't help the blood and tears mix as he saw your face. As he saw your small smile and roses cheeks that unforgiving winter day.

Takemichi saw his friend’s tough facade break as his eyes searched, and searched… and searched his face for some kind of lie. That this had to be some kind of ploy. But he remained absolute.

“Y/N is”

A cock of the gun startled them both, Kaku stepping aside at Kisaki’s request- a dangerous glint in his eyes as the two talked.

Kaku wasn't there. Well he was there- But his mind was lost in the abyss.

He looked to Izana. Izana looked back.

The abyss stared at him when Takemichi muttered the words

“You killed Y/N, so it should be easy for you”

He froze. Head craning to Kisaki. Takemichi was on the floor. Looking hurriedly at Izana, staring unimpressed. No. That’s not right he should but wh no izana what are

He couldn't have heard? Right?

Time skipped as Mikey arrived. When did he? How, Mikey- Draken was here too.With Hina… Takemichi’s girlfriend.

And with Emma.

The final battle ensued.

Mikey and Izana took blow after blow. Izana was almost distracted, enraged if you could say. Everything was happening too fast and he didnt have enough time to process everything. If anything at all.

He felt like a machine. Robotically kicking and punching with everything he's worth as you kept playing in his mind like a phantom.

Where were you? Why wasn’t Emma dead? Why weren’t you here to watch him, to cheer him on with your annoyingly optimistic voice.

Mikey stopped for a second. Giving both of them a time to catch their breath. Izana was alive. The blood pumped through his veins like a horse race. Pushing everything about you into the back of his mind as he charged at Mikey again. Izana was winning. He was going to kill him. He was going to

“Why did you kill Y/N?”

His breath got stuck in his throat.

“..I didn’t kill anyone Mikey. They’re simply having a hissy fit and ran off…” He convinced himself. Not voicing how the hell did he knew about you?

“No. The night- two days ago when you went to the cemetery to meet with me, they came a few minutes after holding some kind of bag.”

“They wanted to chat with me and Emma. Telling us about their boyfriend and how he idolized Shinchiro. They decided to learn more about our brother.”

No

“They walked off together. Y/n gushing about you as they both went to get lunch to talk about you”

Stop it.

“Then a bike with two occupants crushed their skull with a baseball bat as they tried to protect Emma. Splat, on the concrete as I carried their battered body to the hospital.”

Stop

“They were in a coma. For two days they were in a coma. Emma never left their side. You never called.”

Mikey stepped closer to his brother.

Mkey’s face was stern.

“They died alone thinking you hated them”

Izana couldn’t breathe.

“What would Shinchiro think of you? Brother”

Mikey was on the ground. Izana on top of him as a flurry of fists met his face. Mikey didn’t stop him. Not even moving as his brother beat him to a pulp.

He recognized the look in his brother's eyes. The mush of turmoil, the bags. He understood it all. He couldn't have felt closer as he got punched in the nose, lips and eyes.

Izana faltered as Mikey finally had enough. They stared at each other. Tears threatened to burst from Izana’s lavender eyes, as the feeling of confusion and loose made him nauseous.

“You killed them, Izana. This is all your fault.”

“No… no I didn’t” He bargained, voice betraying him as Mikey’s eyes widened.

He was crying, body visibly shaking as Kaku could only stare before announcing that the fight was done. Toman had won.

Standing up, Mikey stood in front of his kneeling brother. Izana’s eyes didn't even seem like a man anymore. His eyes, that once shown like the wonders of the stars that you gave him. He had the eyes of a dead man.

God how he missed that. The late nights and the early mornings that were spent together. The times he played hooky from meetings just to meet with you. You saw him for who he was.

You truly saw him!

He loved the way that he could act himself in front of you, how you would be a shoulder to cry on, or how your snorts would turn heads at the cafe. Izana himself obviously shooting glares and getting names when people stared too long.

…he didn't love you right. He knew that.

He was broken. Beyond broken with what his mother did, with the loss of Shinichiro. And now you. God he couldn't feel anything. He couldn’t feel the weight of the gun in his hand. Nor the trembling of his knees. Thousands of millions of memories of you poured through his senses.

Every touch he felt, every scent he smelt, he couldn't hear mikey. Only the bells in your laughter. Only the way your hair tumbled clumsily in the wind, your brows furrowing as a chunk got in your mouth. Not Mikey coming closer.

And the sun. You were his sun, but he couldn't show it. Didn't know how to show it until you showed it to him. God you were so patient. Why couldn't you just take a hint and leave him alone? Why did you have to weasel your way into his life and ruin it?

He was better off broken. All he needed was Kaku. But no you wouldn’t let him go.

“Izana,up”

“Y/N?”

His eyes shot up to meet Mikey’s. His face was straight as Izana almost fainted.

There. Why were you no. You were supposed to be by his side.

“So why are you over there my love? With Shinchicro?”

You were smiling, eyes crinkled and the slight fat in your cheeks red as Shinchiro waved from next you. Next to Mikey.

“Try and shoot me Izana”

A beray of howls echoed through his ears, Izana’s eyes bat wild as blood trip dripped from his nose.

Kaku.. Kaku was there. Oh yeah. He forgot about him.

“So… A servant is giving advice to his king” He slapped the gun out of his hand. “Really!”

“Izana! We already lost when Y/N died!”

“Shut up!”

“No one can bring them back!”

“I said-“

“Killing Mikey won’t solve anything!”

“Shut up!” And he did.

He got shot.

And so did Izana.

They both collapsed to the floor. Kaku breathing heavily as his eyes searched for his friend.

No words were exchanged as Izana calmed down. A small smile playing on his lips.

Izana came to terms with his fate as he felt the gentle caressing of his hair. A ghostly smile greeted him as he closed his eyes a final time.

And all that was left, was a whisper of your name in the wind.

I found this in chapter 56 and I thought it was kinda interesting. While Zen is comforting Shirayuki as she's crying, Mitsuhide says,"But this is about Zen and Shirayuki. I don't think this sudden distance is a big problem. It's not like being apart would cause their existence to become smaller in each other's lives." Maybe it's foreshadowing they will separate? What are your thoughts on this? Do you think ObiYuki still has a chance or is it just the author toying with us?

The vast majority of this post is below the cut. I hope it is not too much / addresses what you meant. 

Here are some notes before I subject whoever reads this to my madness:

These little moments of “It’s okay to do what you want to do” always strike me, and I think about them when I’m considering Zen v Obi endgame because it opens up the possibility that things can change.

Yes it’s a shojo and shojo protagonists tend to stick with their initial love interest... blah blah blah. I don’t think this preconceived notion of how shojo manga ‘always goes’ is a valid point anymore.

So .... I think the comments we are both thinking of usually refer to Shirayuki’s Path and how she must be able to Stand By Zen’s Side as an Ally, etc. So I’ll kind of be thinking of this from the angle of a Journey. 

Everything discussed is also after The Play We Believe is Foreshadowing (except for the panels pulled from ch 9 and 20) which I think should be considered for the context of the plot. 

If it is actually foreshadowing for an eventual Obi & Shirayuki story arc -- which tbh we might be in the midst of (currently) at ch 117 without realizing it -- then it’s relevant to how we frame the comments made afterwards. At the end of the day, Akizuki-sensei is an author. She is telling us a story. I think it’s reasonable to seek out clues to foreshadowing in fictional stories. So I’m operating under a 90% certainty that the play is foreshadowing.

I have found that the best (fictional) stories are ones that have been planned carefully. I have no way of verifying if AnS has been so precisely crafted to weave in so much foreshadowing that we speculate over, but damn it sure feels like it was. 

The manga was originally just the first chapter, so we can assume that after writing that chapter and deciding to make it into a series, there was some planning done.

ANyway............... strong speculation ahead. I think I was ~60% thorough in my search to find material relevant to Foreshadowing of a Separation.

1) So we’ll start with a panel from ch 9, 

where Zen is considering his relationship with Shirayuki and his growing crush. 

This panel is, as stated above, part of the story that Akizuki expanded on after the original one-shot. In the first chapter, we get a lot of cute fate-chitchat between Zen and Shirayuki, but I think -- after deciding to continue the story -- Akizuki changed the tone to allow for more character development, and to challenge the Fate tropes often seen in romance. 

Thus, the statement above from Zen that they may not always be together.

we have the crew essentially saying they are all growing stronger for the sake of each other, and lending their strength as needed.

Within the story, Akizuki-sensei has established a theme of moving forward and changing as needed as a way to get stronger.

Mitsuhide says this to Shirayuki, also in Ch 28:

Why .... does Mitsuhide look so serious as he says this to her? Is he reconciling the fact that Shirayuki and Zens paths may diverge at some point, as they do for the Lyrias arc?

He follows up the above statement with:

He goes on to say, 

“I want you to follow your heart so you can stand on your own wherever Zen takes you.” 

So... maybe that context takes away some of the significance for fellow lovers of AnS. But I don’t think we should just ignore the statement.

I think she’s being given permission to change her mind; that it’s okay for her to have feelings for Zen, but it’s also okay if she chooses to end things. Mitsuhide will support her either way.

Even though the the full remark still has to do with Zen, she is being encouraged to stand on her own. She is her own person. She has friends who will still be there even if she chooses something different from what people expect of her.

In this case -- pertaining to AnS as a whole, from the perspective of everyone who ‘knows’ about ZenYuki in-story and also (meta!) the manga readers -- Shirayuki is expected to someday marry Zen. 

After this, in Chapter 29, Izana is a bit derisive to Shirayuki after she gets the title from Tanbarun. I think his comments are intentionally made to make her uncomfortable. He says,

“Hahahaha! What an unusual title! Amazing!”

- cue confusion from Zen and Shirayuki -

“I wasn’t poking fun at it, it’s just a bit strange. Hmm... before, I said a nobody like her at your side would sully your name, Zen, but with this you can be friends without any such worry, right?

“Shirayuki, I’ve never asked what kind of relationship you want to have with Zen. And I don’t know if it’s something that can be said.”

Alrighty. So. Izana says in front of Shirayuki that he had described her as a nobody. This seems like something said meant to disquiet her, and her initial reaction is, “taken aback,” so we can safely say it was at least temporarily disconcerting for her to hear. I imagine it’s hurtful to hear you were once thought of as someone unworthy of notice.

Don’t get me wrong, I think most of what Izana says and does is in relatively good faith. I think the fandom has come to a general conclusion that he’s testing their relationship. 

Obi finds her in the early morning and he notices that she’s upset, commenting that she’s making a strange face. She is still thinking about what Izana said, and Obi asks,

“Is it about the path you want to take?”

“....No. It’s that I haven’t given it any thought.”

Zen already wishes (though I don’t think he’s explicitly stated it the way he does later in ch 33) to marry Shirayuki, and we see her here facing emotional turmoil because that part of her future isn’t something she has thought about yet. Interesting, to say the least.

I’m not really sure about this, but it seems like she either means where Zen is taking her and / or where she can stand on her own.

And then .......

“Obi, will you lend me a hand?”

“Didn’t I tell you before that I’ll take you wherever you want to go?”

This part of the story is still heavy ZenYuki, but I think Obi saying this to her right now is significant. Akizuki has repeatedly weaved Shirayuki’s path into the themes of the story so far, while contrasting that Zen will meet her at her destination, while Obi will be at her side for the journey. 

Zen and Shirayuki meet and talk. They basically address that Shirayuki doesn’t really know what the future holds, but that she still wants to stand by his side, and says that even though he’s a prince she wants to think it’s okay for her to feel that way. 

You almost forget about the significance of Obi and Shirayuki’s relationship when it’s followed up by this ZenYuki scene. I wonder about the aforementioned nature-of-planning involved in the story and the future of the characters at this point.

3) Zen has presumably given his blessing for Obi to be happy in love

In chapter 31, while the group is stranded outside Wistal due to rain, Zen and Obi are in the bath talking about the possibility of Kiki and Mitsuhide getting married.

“It’s fine with me as long as they can say that they’re happy. I intend to make sure of that.”

“You’ll make sure of that?”

“The same applies to you too, Obi.”

More foreshadowing? Presently it seems that the MitsuKiki ship has sunk, so contrasting this conversation to current-manga-events is titillating to me. ESPECIALLY because Zen says that he wants to make sure Obi is happy when Zen knows how Obi feels about Shirayuki. So it’s established that they will support one another as friends.

Later, Kiki and Mitsuhide are talking after dinner and discuss how the nature of Zen and Shirauki’s friendship never changes (that’s the impression I got from it). Mitsuhide recalls when he and Zen talked about the same thing:

I think what Kiki and Mitsuhide are referring to is that Zen and Shirayuki have made a conscious effort to become friends despite the barriers they’ve encountered so far, by way of them showing the strength of their mutual respect and desire to aid one another. I get a similar feel from the conversation between Zen and Mitsuhide. 

And then .....

“The two of us will always be friends.”

ahem

Zen saying this -- in context to everything from the past four chapters -- implies that Zen is okay if their relationship is not romantic. If it is true that the mangas plot was deliberately planned out, these chapters will become increasingly interesting to look back on as the plot progresses. 

The direction of the story has changed since then if we are only looking at the big turning point of Mitsuhide rejecting Kiki.

And despite that rejection, the group is still a group despite their physical distance.

Brief note to say that in Ch 33 Izana says to Zen,

“Let me be an ally as you and Shirayuki follow your own path.”

While this is a ZenYuki comment, I see it as Akizuki reinforcing that each character is following their own path and they will be supported as they do.

3.5) After this point is the first Lyrias arc, 

where obiyuki shippers are starting to salivate over how much is packed in just for their relationship. I mean .... remember when she pushed him to the ground because she thought he would get hit by snow? And he gives her those moony eyes just like it didn’t stop ... my heart

UGH JUST SAYING IT BECAUSE context! Shirayuki’s path is changing slowly, and Obi is still by her side.

4) A period of transition

I think this is around the time the Bergatt arc is actually beginning, leading up even to current-manga-events.

In Chapter 53

And thus, they head towards the path that a new wind blows upon.

The times are changing.

While Shirayuki is preparing for her and Ryuu’s move to Lyrias, Zen and co. are at Wilant meeting with Haruto, who describes fools aiming to throw the country into turmoil. This is a seed for the plot that develops, ie, the Bergatt arc that was not actually resolved when Touka gets taken down at Sereg in ch (?) 86. I bring this up because I think it shows the level of planning that Akizuki has put into the story at this point.

In chapter 55, after Shirayuki has finally been able to tell Zen she’ll be away from Wistal for 2 years, and they have this conversation (slightly paraphrased) after he’s processed for a short time:

Zen -

“Sorry. The fact that you would be leaving the castle was something that I’d never considered. So my reaction was a little slow.

“I’ll hear it. I’m sure there was more you wanted to say.”

Shirayuki -

“I’m really glad that I got to meet you and come to the castle! I’m where I am now because I wanted to become Zen’s ally; and i achieved that by coming to the castle and becoming a royal pharmacist.

“I’m sure that, like how it’s always been, there’s something ahead connecting to my path now. That’s why, because there’s a place I have yet to go, I want to be there.”

This is Zen’s face after she says the above:

What is he thinking? Is he worried about their romantic relationship? I interpret it as preemptive disappointment that they may not stay together.

Shortly after we get to the point you made in your ask (sweet anon) re ch 56 with Mitsuhides comment. This adds to the reinforced theme that change is okay and they will all still be friends and allies regardless of where life takes them.

BUT IMMEDIATELY AFTER Mitsuhide says that in reference to Zen and Shirayuki, Obi responds:

Is Akizuki drawing a parallel between MitsuKiki and ZenYuki? No idea. maybe. But somehow I do not find it coincidental.

This seems like a MitsuKiki hint, meant to fuel the ultra-shippable pair that we all loved... but after the rejected proposal, it’s hard not to see the whole situation differently re: zenyuki / obiyuki and mitsukiki / hisakiki.

Then the first true ObiYuki hug, and this:

“It feels as though Obi might suddenly appear in Lyrias!”

girl you already knew. Shirayuki knows that Obi will follow her.

Obi deliberately postpones going to Lyrias, though, in order to consider his feelings for Shirayuki and how to tell Zen.

Then!! in 58-59 we get long-awaited confirmation from Obi that he has feelings for Shirayuki, and after this beautiful moment Obi goes to Lyrias to be at Shirayuki’s side, and after everything that has happened so far that is a clincher for me regarding our beloved Foreshadowing.

While discussing Obi’s crush on Shirayuki, Obi asks Zen

“Aren’t you going to propose?”

“.......................Well, I’m.. making her .. wait.”

“Master ... I don’t recommend postponing it, you know.”

I wonder about this comment. Is this a clue for us that Zen postponing engagement is going to be a negative thing in the future? 

idk maybe ╮(￣ω￣)╭

Either way ........ This transition period, in between Lyrias 1 and 2, shows us that the story is changing.

I have definitely not covered all of the possible moments of foreshadowing and am actually going to leave off on that topic for the time being. I might do a part 2 as its own post. 

But for now I will switch to previously mentioned point that...

5) Obi and Shirayuki’s paths are walked together

I think the following two panels are a great way to frame their relationship. Chapter 20 in early Tanbarun arc:  

And then, much later in chapter 106 as they stand by the fire and Shirayuki tells Obi he’s handsome in the light:

“... because you come with me.” ( ╥ω╥ )

And then more delightful talk from chapter 104 that I think is ... gasp 

foreshadowing !!!!!

They are having this discussion after they’ve found out about Kiki becoming engaged to Hisame.

“It’s necessary to have the courage to make a decision and take a step down that path, isn’t it?”

Shirayuki is possibly saying this due to the implications of Kiki’s letter. Kiki has made the choice to take a new path from the one she had been on by marrying Hisame. 

So what about Shirayuki’s journey? Has her growth led her to a path she didn’t expect, and now it will take courage to step down it?

In recent chapters Shirayuki is shown to be seeing Obi differently and as a man:

overhearing him calling her beautiful and being surprised that he is embarrassed she heard

witnessing him going to a marriage meeting

that little moment where he is holding her wrist as a Lyrias knight tells him that the knights sister wishes him luck in love

the firelight comment oh my god

realizing she lost the pin Obi gave her and tearing up as she literally stared at him; upset that the gift she cherished is now missing and potentially realizing how very dear to her Obi actually is

fake dating and the 10 seconds of ... just... I still cant even 

Obi is the one who is by Shirayuki’s side. They developed a bond through years friendship that is now being reframed by Akizuki. The nature of their relationship has been slowly changing and I think we approaching a time in the manga where Shirayuki will realize it.

To answer your last question ... I do think ObiYuki has a chance and I do not think the author is just toying with us. I’ve talked a lot about my ObiYuki Endgame feels in previous posts/asks. I could probably talk about it forever but this post is absurdly long .... sorry
