Reeveâs birthday + mini character profile!
Hey People of Earth!
So itâs become a bit of a trend to use my charactersâ birthdays as an excuse to post mini character profiles for them, ha, so here we are again with another one! Iâve written this in advance (on the 12th) because Iâll be at a Current Joys concert for most of the 13th (her actual birthday). Hope you enjoy getting to know the MC of the FOSTERED books. (who I strangely donât talk about nearly enough lol)
This is her:
This is also her (both by @sarahkelsiwrites):
This is Reeveâs aesthetic that I just whipped up lol:
Name: Reeve Aldaine
Age: 15-19 over the courses of books 1-6
Nicknames and from who: I think she was only ever called Evie by her older sister who isnât in the books for very long.
Favourite restaurant: East Side Marioâs according to @sarahkelsiwrites (or Five Guys) lol
Favourite candy: Sour skittles or wine gums (according to @sarahkelsiwrites)
Favourite type of cake: Vanilla
Favourite hobby: Being salty for no apparent reason, being that toxic (TM) friend who lowkey knows it but if u bring it up is like whut no how am I toxic
Favourite colour: Purple
MBTI type: ISFP
Favourite cereal: Mini wheats
Favourite breakfast food in general: Crepes
If she had a job in real life, what would it be: Anything in retail (Sarah says at a perfume counter) because sheâs rather adaptable and not picky though I think sheâd really enjoy being a barista, lol.Â
Favourite thing to do: Reeve loves salting about other people. She isnât an outwardly bitchy person, per se, but she likes toying with potential scenarios of what people could be thinking of her and why. She isnât a particularly creative person, so she doesn't have any sort of concrete hobby, for example, but if thereâs salt involved, sheâs down.Â
Does she like The Strokes or does she not like The Strokes: Yaaaaassss join the clubbbb (her fave song would probably be You Only Live Once).
Her actual aesthetic: Looking out a gloomy window while itâs raining, chipped black nail polish, the smell of rain on pine trees, the subsequent smell of the sap, maple syrup in clear, labelless bottles (so weirdly specific but truu), sprigs of dried lavender
If she was a gum flavour: Juicy fruit cuz she got all dat riiiipe juicy teaaaaa
Would she write books: No, ha. Although her voice itself is hella poetic.Â
If she were a donut flavour: Sprinkles 4 dayz
If she were a beverage: Coca Cola in those vintage coke glasses or a glass of wine
If she had a favourite band: Daughter, but sheâs also definitely into rock further along the alternative spectrum (and Whitney. Whitney for dayz).
Songs that remind me of her:Â
(I would say all of Daughter but to specify)
- The End by Daughter
specifically these lyrics
They say there's something in my house That I should just get out, get out I don't want to be escaping No, I'm too busy moping around I'm too busy moping around I'm too busy moping around I'm too busy moping around I'm too busy moping around
- Smother by Daughter
I should go now quietly For my bones have found a place to lie down and sleep Where all my layers can become reeds All my limbs can become trees All my children can become me What a mess I leave To follow
- Shallows by Daughter
Let it all rain down From the blood stained clouds. Come out, come out, to the sea my love... And just Drown with me
- New Ways by Daughter
Washed out brain I have a dirty mind Oh, I need, I need new ways To waste my time I need new ways
- Numbers by Daughter
Chemically enlaced faces Black out nights and tight spaces We'll feel distant embraces Scratching hands 'round my waist, yeah I'll wash my mouth but still taste you
- Made of Stone by Daughter
What if I'm made of stone? Feeling is not a system Nervous I'm caught in a hold Hoping I'm over thinking I should be feeling more Draped over your bones Paint colours up the walls To spread our inspirations You are the likely cause Of what will be my demise
- A Hole in the Earth by Daughter
It's like an old ruin Your father's a liar while my father's lying down In a hole in the earth there And I'm scared I'll forget him I'm still haunted by those open wounds I won't express them truly to you
Likes:Â
- Sitting in front of fireplaces + the sound of crackling wood
- The smell of smoke
- Rain
- Skipping rocks (sheâs also v/ good at this)
- Melancholically reminiscing about her childhood
- Anything purple
- Swing-style rock
- @sarahkelsiwrites says Corn Pops
Some other stuff:Â
Reeve out of all my characters, has probably had the most major character flip in terms of her arc. Iâve described her before on here as poetically existential, and I think thatâs personally an excellent way to describe her. In the initial stages of the series, she was quite pessimistic, but there was very much still a tangible spring in her. Sheâs never been particularly warm, but as the series progresses, namely from book four onward, this becomes much clearer. Her morals (especially in book six) also take a turn in what Iâd basically describe as moral decline. Sheâs had a bit of âanti-character-developmentâ, by which I mean sheâs sort of progressed backwards (and most likely will continue to). Because of this, she reads incredibly ambiguously, and in a lot of ways, like the antagonist of the story, due to her extreme perceptions of people in both her judgements, and interactions with them. (Thus sheâd probably rub the reader as unlikable.) Sheâs a very direct person, who doesnât quite understand her moral faults, but simultaneously exploits them. So for example, she might know sheâs being judgemental, but not quite understand why (or why thatâs not a good thing) and continue to impose that on others.Â
Sheâs a very turbulent, negative person, mostly towards the latter half of the series. Whilst sheâs always had these issues (such as jealousy and pettiness), theyâve almost been under the surface kind of issues. Itâs kind of funny to think of it now, but @sarahkelsiwrites, and @imdisappointed (and myself) have always pointed out Reeveâs unlikable characteristics from the beginning. I always thought this was because I was doing something wrong, and only realized when writing book six, that these characteristics are actually a part of her character, making her incredibly morally grey (and sometimes, morally wrong). Because of this, the narration (since it is first person) often reads morally grey as well. Sheâll often state something she doesnât believe in as if she does believe it, which oftentimes feeds into her constant inner conflict.Â
Sheâs a very critical person, to the point of being overtly so, and thus, will overstep her boundaries in judging you if she feels youâve either wronged her, or wronged someone she cares about. Though, she doesnât vocalize these opinions, they almost reach the point of vulgarity through the narrative as theyâre rehashed for the reader.Â
She also harbours a lot of self-deprecation, and blames herself a lottttt for many a things, namely the various complications within her family, even if she couldnât necessarily fix these things. Sheâs a fixer by heart, and not being able to patch up holes continuously bothers her. Iâd describe her as self-loathing. I wouldnât say she hates herself, I just think she hates the pawn of herself (sort of the persona she puts on), and hates what that person let her become.Â
Ha, all of this was uber negative, but that isnât all there is to her! Sheâs also an intensely emotional person (which can lead to baaare melodramaaaaa), so this really allows her to connect with other people on a really deep level. She doesnât trust easily, due to her various traumas, but if she does trust you, youâll feel it. She cares intensely about people (which can sometimes be a bad thing), but will try her hardest to be a supportive friend. So she does have a lot of stuff bogging her down a lot of the times, but will remain by your side (and hopefully not make the situation about her oops).Â
I mentioned this before, but sheâs also a very distant narrator. Itâs sometimes hard to achieve this especially in the scenes I need her to be even more distant in (hence so many clarity issues haaaaha), so Iâve toyed around a bit with form in her POV. Some bits of these books are in verse, some in second person, and some in third. She is a first-person narrator, but I do enjoy experimenting a bit (especially in dissociative scenes). Sheâll also insert herself into other charactersâ situations (almost like pseudo dissociation lol) a lot, and go through possible events they may have gone through.
I think her development is the main reason these books went from YA to vaguely adult maybe, because sheâs definitely gone down a viciously explicit emotional path (which I didnât actually plan for, but am happy about). So yeah. Lots of things go on in her head, and I think she really does need a lot of time to dispel all of it, but sheâs getting there.Â
So thatâs it for now! I havenât really done an extensive profile for Reeve, even though I talk about her a lot, so hopefully this helps in getting to know her a bit better!
Thanks for reading!

Well, It's Time I started these 'Best of' Reviews for what Animated thing had Happened this Year, and Now I'm ready for it, and for me, I think that 2017 was a great Year for Cartoons on TV (and one on the Net), and here are my Reviews on why.
Ben 10(2016 series) â Although the Show was Made and Released in 2016 at other Foreign territories, It finally got a Release in the US in 2017. And some Folks might say that some reboots arenât very too Bright (and I would agree on TTG and/or PPG 2016), But I find this to be a Nerve Calming excitement, some of the Character Designs/Re-Designing look Cute & Likable to Me. And the One Thing that gets me Fired up for this Series is that some Artists I know worked on this Program, like Mr. Ryan Krammer(Uncle Grandpa, & SpongeBob's 'Food Con Castaways' episode), Ms. Monica Ray(Harvey Beaks, Magic Children Doing Things) as Storyboard Artists & additional Writers& Mr. Colin Heck(Legend of Korra, Harvey Beaks) as Supervising Director. And It was Wonderful to hear Ms. Jessica DiCicco(Lynn & Lucy Loud) voicing a Different-looking FrightWig, who the Character was previously voiced by Cree Summer in the Original Series. But believe me, I remember seeing the Original Ben 10 series along with Alien Force, but didnât quite go thru the Rest of the Series until the Reboot came. Even the Original villains of this Show look so Cute (except for Billy Billions), which that Cuteness also goes to the re-Designing of the other Villains from the Original âBen 10â series, and the More appearance Iâve ever seen from a Villain is Steam Smythe (voiced by Roger Craig Smith of âSonic the Hedgehogâ & âRegular Showâ).
Billy Dilleyâs Super-Duper Subterranean Summer â Quite an Interesting Show, and I bet many people thought that the Program reminded them of âUncle Grandpaâ, so Keep in Mind, Most of the Artists & Writers who worked on this Series previously worked on âSpongebob Squarepantsâ & âUncle Grandpaâ. Even the Showâs Creator Mr. Aaron Springer voicing Billy almost sounds like Paul Rugg of 'Freakazoid', 'Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket', & 'Secret Mountain Fort Awesome'.
Samurai Jack(Season 5) - I truly Enjoyed watching 'Samurai Jack' when I was Young, this Program along with 'Courage the Cowardly Dog', 'Juniper Lee', & 'Chowder' are Probably the only Good Old Cartoon Network Programs that I give Full Circle to in my Childhood. After the "Jack and the Baby" episode, the show went into a Deep Cliffhanger, and I truly Sympathize the Great Hero Jack for it, But Twelve Years Later, a New Season had Finally cometh, with the Show's Original Creator Mr. Genndy Tartakovsky coming to Ex. Produced the series after some Great Work back at Sony Pictures Animation(Hotel Transylvania films, & that Popeye Test Footage). And Instead of the Program being a-little Lighthearted like the Past Seasons with just Slime, Oil & Robotic Guts, and Major Boo-boos, the New Season 5 now airing on Adult Swim has moved to a Darker Tone, which I like as much as 'Return to Oz', 'Over the Garden wall', & 'the Black Cauldron', with some major Blood, Profanity, and some Grown-Up jokes put into it. And it was a Surprised to see some Old Characters that I recognize to make some Cameos in that one episode(or few), such as the Woolies, Demongo, and the Ravers, the Robots and their Robo-Samurai, and the "Jump Good" Monkey man & his Tribe. And some Fresh New Voices came in by Surprise, such as Mr. Chris Parnell & Keegan Michael Key in some Episodes. And I was Lucky to film the Final Confrontation between Jack & Aku during the Premiere of the Series Finale for Instagram. And did I nearly weep during the Part that Now that Aku is Gone, Ashi will Never be Born in the Future(because of the Space Timing Continuum), and I got to say, Ashi was a Cute Character that I truly Sympathize because of her Dark Past & People Torturing her back then, and I like her Voice Actress, the Legendary Ms. Tara Strong (Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony, Ben 10, & Chowder). And even since Aku's Original voice actor Mr. Mako passed away back then, I say that Mr. Greg Baldwin really did a Good Job impersonating Mako voicing Aku, just like he did with Iroh of 'Avatar: the Last Airbender' & 'Legend of Korra', almost sounded like If Mako aged Puberty. I would say I'm Gonna Miss this Show, just like how I'll miss Chowder, Regular Show, and soon Uncle Grandpa.
Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Battle for Mewni /SvtFoE Season 3â To come Clear, I only watched the First Four Stories of that TV Movie Special, from âReturn to Mewniâ to âMarco and the Kingâ, Because during the Further Episodes there was an Artist whose Career I clearly dislike, Tyler Chen of âClarenceâ, âFish Hooksâ, âPickle & Peanutâ & the Overrated Bravest Warriors minisode âdrama Bugâ, and thatâs why I never made it to the Ending point, But I do read Perfectly that Star won the Battle against the Vile Toffee, and she got her Wand Redesigned. But what I can tell you that one of my Favorite Episodes from that so Far is âMoon the Undauntedâ, and I gotta say that Eclipsa, Queen of Darkness is one of my Most Favorite Characters from the show so far. As for the Rest of Season 3 so Far, Iâve only watched Episodes that are NNOT directed by Chen, cuz remember when I said I donât like his Career, but my Most Favorite Episodes out of Season 3 so Far is âStranger Dangerâ, âLint Catcherâ, & âTrial by Squireâ. Also, Despite having appeared in the 2016 episode "Page Turner", I like Hekapoo's appearance in the 2017 episode "Running with Scissors", which is One of my Most Favorite Episodes of Season 2.
The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos - I really Enjoyed this Half-Hour Special of âthe Loud Houseâ, the New Characters there seemed Likable/Lovable unlike the Unlikable/Hate-able ones in Royal Woods where some Folks arenât that Disgusting as Hell(Funny Business, Cereal Offender), and Itâs also a Good Episode where no Sister Siblings were Complete & Utter jerks(Sleuth or Consequences, a Novel Idea), Even what surprised me Completely is that this was the First Thing in a Kidsâ Cartoon to showcase a person with Down-Syndrome, and believe me, I felt Really Disappointed on how they were Portrayed in Adult Cartoons, Mostly *COUGH*Family guy*COUGH*. But in a Kids Cartoon, they were Treated Properly with Good Respect. And the Character Rosa reminds me of Mrs. Claus/Mama from Rankin/Bassâ âRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeerâ for some Wacky Reason, âEat, eat, EATâ. And I still Love the RonnieColn Fandom Completely, that one LH Episode âBack Out Thereâ almost Ruined some Things, and that Led me to have Mixed to Negative Feelings for Lincolnâs Friends Clyde, Rusty, Liam, Zach. So I would say that âthe Loudest Mission: Relative Chaosâ is a Fun-Filled Episode that I could watch Multiple Times, Itâs got Cute & Funny moments, some Heart-Warming Drama, and some Great Entertainment when the Alley Cats run amuck in the Casagrande apartment.
OK K.O! Letâs be Heroes â This Show has become a Great New addition to the Grand CN, It was created by Mr. @ianjq, who was previous storyboard supervisor & storyboard revisionist of âAdventure Timeâ, Writer & Story Artist for âSecret Mountain Fort Awesomeâ, voice of Wallow of âBravest Warriorsâ, & developer, co-executive producer, supervising director, storyline writer & storyboard artist for âSteven Universeâ, and I really like him Voicing Rad & other Characters such as Darrell & Crinkly Wrinkly in the K.O. program. It was based off a short Pilot episode âLakewood Plaza Turboâ back in 2013, in that Great Year of Discoveries along with other pilots for âSteven Universeâ, âOver the Garden Wallâ, Â & âClarenceâ, and that was a Time when I was also Fascinated with Disneyâs Nine old Men and their Work/Book âthe Illusion of Lifeâ, and watching that Awesome Documentary on Cartoon Networkâs âNext Generation of Animationâ, I will always accept New Cartoon Network shows like âAdventure Timeâ, âRegular Showâ, âUncle Grandpaâ, âOver the Garden Wallâ, âSteven Universeâ, & âWe Bare Bearsâ into the Cartoon Society. But as for âOK K.O.â , the seems pretty Wonderful, It has a Blend of 1970âs Obscure Anime looks into the Western Animation looks, and How they have some Classical Cartooning Principles(Funny Cartoon Noises, Jokes & Gags) into the Modern Day Greatness. Even some of the characters seemed likable, Mostly on either Lord Boxman(voiced by the Great Jim Cummings), some of the Villainess Characters that the Heroes might met(Professor Venomous, Cosma, & Mr. Cardsley), and even some of the Main Good Characters, especially the Ones I also Sympathize like K.O., Rad, Enid, Dendy, Carol, & Mr. Gar, and I gotta say that Character Crinkly Wrinkly is the Funniest character that Iâve ever seen. I think it was Good that I first get to watch the Series when It was On-Demand before it aired on actual TV, but I have yet to see itâs 2013 Pilot episode along with the Rests that Aired on 2013, But I do know that it had a Mobile Game back then (though I did not Download it or played it) and a Series of Shorts by other Animation Studios, but I havenât watch them because I am Never a huge fan of SCIENCE SARU and Iâm Not too certain about Studio Yotta. But I gotta say also, This Show is a Fanstastic Experience on the Grand CN, Filled with Precious Heart-Warming episodes with Good Life Lessons like How to handle your own Duties as an Employer or how Great your Boss can be (âLegends of Mr. Garâ), or If you Try not to Spoil your life by being a Self-Proclaimed Selfish âCool Kidâ like Brat, you should have a More Focused Future ahead of you, even without going to Jail (âWeâve Got Pestsâ), and the Show had some Crazy Developments such as Enid & Rad used to being a Couple (âSecond First Dateâ), and Enid being a Witch and being in a Family of Halloween-Themed Characters (âParents Dayâ). Plus the shows got a Good crew, Like the Program's Supervising Director Toby Jones, who Previously worked on 'Regular Show', and one of the Show's Story folks Dave Tennant, previously does some Stories for Pete Browngardt Cartoons, Which I think makes it Better for Me.
Pickle Rick â Why not, Itâs âPICKLE RIIIICK!!!!â, I thought I would pass on this, But eventually won my Heart, donât ask why, but Things just happen like that.
The Summoning - I just Discovered this while browsing on the internet probably from Fan-Art on DA, and I watched it on Youtube, and I gotta say, this Cartoon is Really Cute, Funny, & Creepy at the same time. The Main Characters seemed Lovable, and I mean Claire & Edgar, the Bunny Character is hugely Funny in a way, Though I feel Terribly Bad for the characters accidentally eating some things like Eating some Dandruff from a Big Head Island which Claire thought it was Dirt, and Eating Poop which Edgar thought it was Chocolate. But to make Matters Better for the Cartoon, Celmation Hero Ms. Natasha Allegri(Bee & Puppycat, Fionna & Cake) worked on the short as Director, Story Artist, & Character Designer, WHAT A HERO!!! And the Animations/Celmation was done by Digital eMation inc., the Celmation Team behind âOk K.O. Letâs be Heroes!â & the Season 5 of âSamurai Jackâ.
The Movies of 2017 & Probably some on Video Games should be made soon.

tagged by my ult @minigguk ⥠p.s. ily
rules: answer 11 questions from the person who tagged you, then make 11 more questions for the next people you tag.
1. what is your all-time favorite album from high school? why?
i wanna say halseyâs badlands, i was in a tough spot at one point and i constantly listened to that album, it had right mix of angry/sad emotions i was dealing w at the time
2. tell me about a childhood dream youâve always had.
hmmm well iâve always wanted to have a ranch, or at least some acres of land to just own a few horses and some cattle, just to live that rural lifestyle. i had a friend back in the day who had something akin to that and i remember just wanting a life like that, waking up early and going for a ride and taking care of the animals.
3. what makes you smile no matter what?
my kitten, luna bug. she can be an ass at times but i love her dearly and i can always count on her to bring a smile to my face
4. favorite class and why?
god i loved language arts, any kind of writing/literature classes were my favs. i was just naturally good at them and it felt great to excel in something, especially something that i actually enjoyed. plus i had really wonderful teachers growing up that really helped me mature as writer
5. whatâs your mbti? (if you donât know it then thereâs a test at 16personalities.com!) is it accurate? if you decided to re-take it again, has it changed since the first time? (iâm curious since i went from an infj to an enfj somehow LOL)
last time i did it, i was an infp-t and i just took it again and iâm the exact same thing lmaooo
6. do you like boba / bubble tea? whatâs your go-to drink?
oh i love boba!! i rarely get to have it bc the closest boba place is like twenty minutes away but i like having coffee flavored boba. in general, i love coffee so thatâll always be my go-to, though lately iâve been digging a lot of white chocolate blendsÂ
7. whatâs one thing you never want to change about your life?
i guess i wouldnât want to change the relationship between my older sister and i; weâve grown immensely close over the past few years and the way weâre able to talk and joke and go out together now is something i truly cherish
8. tell me three things that you like about yourself - can be a physical trait or a personality one!
gdi em stop being a positive ray of sunshine for two seconds and let me wallow in negativity,,,,
idkidkidk i guess my eyes? ppl say theyre big and pretty but idk i just think theyâre huge lol i like my imagination, how i think outside the box for things (whether itâs for writing or not) and the work ethic i have. my mom taught me serious morals especially when it comes to working and iâm proud of how hard i work and how i still consider my coworkers feelings throughout my day job.
9. if you could publish a book, then what would it be about?
letâs be honest, iâd probably end up making a erotica novel lmao
but in a serious setting, i really enjoy dystopian universes and a strong protagonist being faced with challenges of all types having to survive (ofc with a love interest bc iâm a sap) so probably something of that nature.
10. if you could choose a fictional universe to be in, then what would it be?
a magic au would be the best!!! just imagine all the possibilities, it sounds amazingÂ
11. what is your passion in life? what drives you?
iâd say writing, just literature in general really makes me happy and i think itâs helped me extend my mind into other spectrums. hell, without it i wouldnât have this blog and met some wonderful ppl (including the beb who tagged me in this) and i canât imagine just not doing all of this.
also collecting but thatâs just cuz im a recluse and it brings me joy lol
âĄ
time for my qâs!
1. what is your go-to dance move?
2. do you ever wish you were born somewhere else? can be a different city, area, country or even planet!
3. long legged doggos or short puppers? (can be changed to whatever animal you like if dogs arenât your thing!)

9. butterfly kisses or eskimo kisses?
10. whatâs the best promise anyone has ever kept for you?
11. sun or moon?
