Nikki sat on the edge of the bed as he stared at the phone on the nightstand. It had been roughly three days since he saw Vanity and fuck, his head has been a complete utter mess. He groaned, pushing his hair out of his eyes as he paced around the hotel room.
“Just fucking call her you idiot.” He mumbled to himself as he quickly grabbed a cigarette and lit it. What’s the worse that could happen? Vanity not pick up? Well to Nikki, that was the worse thing. But actually it was if he called and her boyfriend answered the phone, what would he do then? Or, what if she had given him a fake number and it was actually to a pizza parlor.
“Fuck it.” He grumbled to himself, cigarette hanging off his lip as he sat down on the bed and punched in the numbers. He dreadfully waited for a whole five solid rings:
Hey, it’s Vanity. I can’t come to the phone right because I’m busy or I just don’t want to talk to you. Leave a message, bye!
“Hey Van-Vanity. It’s Nikki, uh Nikki Sixx. I mean, I don’t think you know any other Nikki’s I mean..maybe you do, it’s been a while. Anyways um...hey.” He laughed nervously, “I don’t know what to really uh say to you. Just thought I’d call and see how you were or whatever-“
Clementine listened to the answering machine, deciding if she should answer it and pretend to be her. She cursed Vanity mentally. Van was currently out grocery shopping for dinner while Arianna sat in the next room playing with her barbies.
“...I was gonna ask if you maybe wanted to get some coffee or a drink or maybe something to eat. We-We don’t have too if you don’t want too. But I’m sure you want to talk about some stuff...god this is an embarrassing voicemail...” Nikki laughed again, clearing his throat as he continued, “You look...looked really beautiful the other night but I was too much of a chicken shit to say anything. Uh, anyways if you want to call me back-“
Clementine quickly picked up the phone, taking a deep breath as she clears her throat to do her best impression of Vanity, “Hey Nikki, sorry I almost missed your call I’m cleaning up my place.”
Nikki’s heart stopped beating as he took another quick drag, “Oh..um sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt I can call back later if you want?”
Clementine tried to keep in her laughter, “No, No it’s fine. You said coffee? Are you staying long?”
Nikki rubbed his cheeks, “Yeah coffee or whatever. I’m sure you know a few good places in this city. I’m staying for a few weeks, I thought I mentioned that the other night. I must’ve forgot.”
“I’m staying at the Hilton over off of forty second street. You can come by if you’d like.” Nikki closed his eyes, face palming himself.
Fuckin dumbass! She probably doesn’t want to come over!
“Actually, I know a really great place and that’s my fault I probably forgot you mentioned it. I’m free this weekend.” Clementine spoke, going over to the whiteboard that acted as Arianna’s drawing space on the bottom and reminders for Vanity up top. In all capital letter, with tiny stars surrounding it Clementine wrote ‘Coffee with Nikki’.
Nikki stood up, chewing on his thumbnail as he stared at the wall, “Oh? This weekend? Oh um yeah, that sounds great! I mean, that sounds good. I can pick you up if you’d like?”
Clementine panicked, “Um, how about I just meet you there? I can give you the address.”
Nikki ran around the room, trying to find a pen but all he could find was a black eyeliner pencil in the bathroom, “Okay I’m ready.” He smiles to himself as he wrote it down, “How does ten sound?”
Clementine rolled her eyes, almost on the fit of having a laughing attack, “Ten works for me.” Clem’s eyes went wide as she saw Vanity come through door with a paper bag filled with groceries.
“Alright doll, I’ll see you this weekend.”
“Okay! Bye!”
*Vanity’s POV*
“Who was that?” I asked, setting everything down as I looked at Clementine and how she seemingly hung up the phone pretty damn fast and suspiciously.
Clem smiled, “Oh, uh you have a date at ten Saturday morning with Nikki.” She cheered as I gripped the counter, feeling as if I was about to pass out.
“I-I’m sorry? What?” I asked, needing clarification as she started going through the groceries, “Clementine? What do you mean a date with Nikki?”
She chuckled, “He called and asked you to get some coffee so you two can talk. Those are his words, not mine. I just played the part of you.”
My mouth was agape as I stared, “Clem? What?! I’m not going on a date with Nikki?! Call him back and say you I mean me- fuck! Just say I changed my mind.”
She chuckled, “I feel like Nikki is the kind of guy that doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer.”
“Please, I am begging you. Do not make me do this. I don’t want to be stuck talking to him, I don’t want to do it.”
She laughed, “You did it the other night! And invited him to a party! And gave him your number!”
I let out an amused scoff, “I was drunk! And kinda high! That does not count!”
“Vanity, you are going.” Clementines voice was stern alongside her gaze, “You can’t just hide. You need to talk to him. I know your therapist has probably told you already and you’re being stubborn.”
“Mommy, what’s for dinner?” I looked down at Arianna as she smiled up at me. I relaxed and smoothed our her hair, “Tacos babe...and for dessert...maybe I got us cookies to make.”
“That right there is why you need to talk to him.” Clementine said, pointing at Ari as I sighed.
“Are they princess cookies?” Ari asked as I smiled, “I hope double chocolate chip count as princess cookies.”
She seemed to be thinking, “I’ll have to ask Miss sugarpop.” I chuckled as she ran over to one of giraffe stuffed animals, “Okay, she says those are princess cookies.”
I bent down and kissed the top of her head, “I’m glad I was able to serve the magical kingdom...go play.” I nudged her back to the living room.
I glared at Clementine, “I’ll go to coffee with Nikki but it is not a date.” I warned her as she put her hands up.
“Hey, as long as this situation doesn’t explode I’m fine with whatever you want to call it.”
*Saturday Morning*
“Arianna! Did you spill pink kool-aid on my white shirt?!” I yelled from my room as I heard her gasp.
“No!”
I sighed, kid, I swear. I don’t even like your pink kool aid. I like the blue. I groaned, laying down on my bed as almost every garment I owned laid on my bedroom floor. I was having a fashion crisis because I didn’t know what to wear. Do I wear something casual and comfy? Or do I wear something a little more chic and edgy. I groaned, grabbing my pillow as I screamed into it.
My stomach was tied into knots, I could not sleep last night because I am way to nervous to meet up with Nikki. Would it be rude to call and say I can’t make it? It’s only a quarter after nine? I looked back at the clock and started panicking all over again, fuck!
“You good princess?” I looked up, gasping as Tommy was standing in my doorway, “Surprise!” Clementine popped up behind him.
“T! You gotta help me!” I begged him, grabbing his arm and pulling him into my bedroom, “I have no idea what to wear and I’m freaking out and I have to meet Nikki at ten and I don’t even have anything picked out and my hair is still wet and I don’t know what to do!!”
“Well why not these jeans?” He says holding up a pair of light blue ones, I shook my head “They don’t fit me anymore. They’re too loose. None of my clothes fit me!” I whined as they both looked at one another.
“And that is why we don’t abuse cocaine.” Tommy chuckled as I flipped him off.
“Why not a dress?” Clementine questioned as I shook my head, “No, this isn’t a dressy type of date!”
“I thought it wasn’t a date?” Clementine smirked as I stared at her, “Nikki said it was a date.” Tommy butted in.
“You-you talked to him?” I questioned as he nodded, “Uh, duh? He called me in the middle of the night yelling about how I knew this whole time and yadda, yadda, yadda. But he did call it a date.”
I watched as Clementine picked up a pair of black jeans that had rips at the knees and a flowy yellow floral tank top that stopped at my midriff. She threw it on my lap, “Causal, but still cute. You can wear a gold necklace and a pair of sandals. You’re welcome.”
“We’re gonna take Arianna to the park and maybe get some ice cream.” Tommy explained, “Just Incase it takes a while...I know how you two are and I’ve seen this before. You fight, make up, fuck and everything’s happy again. Happens every time.”
“Tommy, he cheated on me.” I pointed out as he giggled, “Okay, a lot more fighting this time around. I’m putting money down right now he’ll use the ‘Doll, you don’t know how much I’ve missed you. Nothings been the same without you.’ Line.” Tommy mocked his voice.
I rolled my eyes, but tried to hide my smile, “No it’s gonna be ‘Princess, I know I’m always apologizing but I truly do mean it.’ I’ll put down extra if he tries to hold my hand while saying it.” Tommy and I both busted up in a fit of laughter.
Clementine stared at us, “Vanity, you have fifteen minutes to get there and traffic is bad right now.” The smile dropped from my face as the impending doom crept back into my system.
“Out! Both of you I need to get dressed!”
I think I set a new record for myself on how fast I got ready. I had to use a belt to keep my pants up. They still fit me but they weren’t as tight as I usually like them to be. The shirt was a tad loose but that’s okay, my tits still filled out the tank top pretty well. My hair was still kinda damp but I didn’t have time to mess with it. I slipped on my sandals before putting a silver band around my thumb. I spritzed on some perfume before checking myself out in the mirror. I turned around to check out my ass, it looked good.
“Okay! I will be back! Ari, please be good for auntie and Tommy.” I bent down as she reached up and gave me a kiss, “Call me if you need anything.” I grabbed my car keys, purse and sunglasses as I started walking to the door.
“Good luck, Van.” Clementine said, “Cause you’re going to need it.” Tommy snickered as Clem quickly slapped him on the arm.
“Thanks for the support, asshole.”
I sat out in front of the coffee shop for a solid five minutes. I was late and it had just turned to ten thirty. I ashed out my cigarette before stepping out of the car. I bent down and looked into the mirror, my make up still looked great. I ran my nails through my hair as I locked the car and headed inside.
The smell of fresh pastries and coffee hit my nose, when was the last time I ate? Maybe I should cut back on the blow...
I glanced around the coffee shop and I didn’t see him anywhere. I moved to the side as I was still standing in front of the door. I peered over to the corner tables but they were empty. I felt my stomach drop, was I being stood up? I fucking panicked over nothing! I shook my head, before turning around and smacking right into Nikki’s chest.
“Easy there.” He chuckled, his arm wrapped around my waist to balance me as I quickly pushed him away.
“Sorry...” I muttered as he took off his sunglasses and pushed them to the top of his head, I copied him.
“You’re late.” He tsk’d, “Yeah, well so are you.”
He smiled down at me, “I’ve been here since nine forty five. Stepped outside to have a cigarette while I waited ever so patiently for you.” He confessed as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. My eyes wandered down his arms, his whole left arm was covered by ink now and by the style of his shirt, I could tell his chest was now littered in ink too.
“Do you want to keep staring at me or do you want to get something to eat?” He questioned, raising an eyebrow. My face and insides were on fucking fire. I walked away from him and went to the counter, Nikki laughed quietly as he followed me.
“You come here a lot?” I turned around to see him right behind me as I cleared my throat and put some distance between us, “Yeah, with one of my friends. It’s our go to spot.”
I ordered my usual iced vanilla chai latte and a breakfast sandwich. I went to hand the cashier my credit card but Nikki beat me too it and handed his over, “You can also add a large cold brew and uh, one of those breakfast sandwiches she’s having. Please and thank you.”
We went to sit down in a booth by a window. He sat across from me, “You look nice.” I furrowed my eyebrows and looked away from him, glancing around the coffee shop and other customers.
“Thanks...” I mumbled quietly, glancing over at him as he laughed under his breath again, “What’s so funny?” I questioned as he shook his head.
“Nothing doll, it’s nothing.”
I rolled my eyes, “Don’t call me that please.” He tilted his head to the side a bit, chewing on his bottom lip as he looked at me, “What? I’ve always called you that.”
I shrugged, “Well you don’t call me that now. Maybe back then, but not now.”
Nikki’s lips tugged into a smirk before a full blown smile, “Okay V.”
One of the baristas came over with our drinks and sandwiches, she gave us a warm smile before leaving. I immediately started eating my breakfast sandwich, “Hungry much?” Nikki asked as he sipped on his coffee, “Shouldn’t be doing all that blow, V.” His comment caused me to glare at him.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He rolled his eyes, an amused grunt rolling off his tongue, “Your little boyfriend is a drug dealer and I’m not an idiot.”
I raised an eyebrow, “I beg to differ.”
He let out a hot breath of air as he slumped back into the booth, wrapping an arm around the back of it. I looked at his left arm again. It was completely covered in little Japanese style characters, cherry blossoms and other flowers. Up by his shoulder was a Cupid type figure and his Mötley tattoo was now colored in, “That’s really cool.” I mumbled, pointing to his arm as he smiled.
“Thanks, it goes up my shoulder and across my chest. My back got worked on too. I’m starting to move down to my legs now. Have you gotten anymore?” I shook my head, “I’m too scared.”
Nikki was older now. Not saying he looked old, but he for sure didn’t have the baby face anymore. His hair was a bit shorter, but still a fucking mess. His eyes were sage colored with hints of gold right now. They were piercing. His jaw was still sharp and had a bit of stubble on it, nothing compared to the patch under his chin. It wasn’t a lot but I could tell he was trying to grow it out. Didn’t picture him to ever stick with the facial hair, I always assumed he liked to be clean cut, a dramatic comparison to everything else in his life.
“You look good.” I said with a shrug, I wasn’t ashamed to say it, it was the truth. He didn’t say anything in return, only gave me a half smile before he started eating his breakfast. The more I looked at him the more I saw his features in Arianna. The eyes, the eyebrow structure, the cheek bones for sure.
“So your job-“ He pulled me from my thoughts as I grabbed my coffee and took a sip, “Are you a stripper too? Or do you just work behind the bar?”
“I’m just a bartender. I’ve only been there a few months but-“ “How long have you been in New York?”
I stared at Nikki when he cut me off, “Was it right away after uh...just how long have you been here in the city?”
I was about to speak but he interrupted me again, “Cause I looked everywhere for you. And, you just vanished like you never existed. I sent a letter to your moms house but it got sent back, did you know that?”
“Why were you looking for me Nikki?” He looked at me like I had asked the worlds dumbest question.
“Because I wanted to fix what I had done.”
I narrowed my eyes at him before looking away, “I didn’t want to fix it Nikki. Don’t you get that? And yes I knew about the letter and all the calls and everything.” I sighed, “I was in Dallas for a little bit but I wound up here. It was far away and I knew nobody.”
He shook his head before angrily grabbing his coffee and taking a sip, “You know Tommy’s girlfriend?”
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
I smiled, “Just from what he’s told me. I haven’t met her yet. He says he’s in love with her.”
Nikki rolled his eyes, “It’s annoying and she mouthed off to me when I met her. I don’t like her. She ain’t good for him.”
I chuckled, “...Because you know what’s good for Tommy?” I rolled my eyes, “Leave him alone. He’s trying to be happy after Heather and this girl makes him happy.”
“Okay V.” I felt his stern glare as I continued eating. I wonder what he was thinking?
*Nikki’s POV*
I have never felt so god damn awkward in my life. I look at her and I feel like I’m some fucking fifteen year old kid that sees the hot eighteen year old babysitter for the first time. I needed a cold shower, I needed to fucking pray to somebody. I needed to have a shot of whiskey. I needed to fucking calm down.
She was bouncing her leg under the table which kept brushing against mine. I mean, I wasn’t going to analyze it, it was probably some unconscious movement. I wasn’t trying to make her upset and was picking and choosing my words very carefully.
I watched as she dug into her purse and grabbed a tube of chapstick and put it on her lips. She let out a gasp, “Oh my god, how is Anarchy? I can’t believe I almost forgot to ask.”
I smiled, “She’s good. She has dog allergies so in the spring time she has to take this special medicine. But other than that, she’s been alright. Still loves her cookies and still barely listens to me.”
Vanity laughed as I felt my heart almost jump out of my chest, “Well now that you know where I am, I can totally take her off your hands. I’ve missed her so much.”
I scoffed, “Uh, no? She keeps me company and I’m less lonely with her by my side.”
“But she’s my dog.”
“Yeah, and you left.” I watched as she brought her eyebrows together knit tight. I could tell by the way she was clenching her jaw she was keeping whatever smart ass comment inside.
“But maybe we could work out some visitation rights.” Her eyes immediately came to mine, “It was just a suggestion?” I tried laughing as she shook her head and sighed.
“Okay, fuck it.” She said as she dug into her purse and grabbed her wallet.
“Fuck it? Van, it was just a joke. If you really want Anarchy, I’m sure I can figure a way out to bring her to-“ I was caught off guard when I watched her slide a picture across the table to me.
I picked it up and examined it, it was a school picture of a little girl. She had long brown hair but it was done in a ponytail with a pink glittery bow. She had a cute little smile and bright hazel eyes. My eyes flickered over to Vanity as she chewed on her thumb nail, waiting for me to say something. I looked back at the little girl in the photo, my eyes widening as I looked back at Van.
“You have a fucking daughter?!” I yelled loud enough for the others around us to hear me. I stared in disbelief as I looked at the picture again. She was a spitting imagine of Vanity. I furrowed my eyebrows together. I didn’t...I didn’t know what to feel or say.
“Her name is Arianna. She just turned five earlier this month. She’s in preschool and she is so very smart, Nikki. She’ll be in kindergarten in the fall. She’s a sweetheart. She loves to laugh and play and sing. She learns something new every day.” Vanity explained to me as I ran my fingers through my hair. She was a mom now. She was fucking everything she was suppose to be for me.
“Jason? Is he her father?” I questioned but she shook her head and let out a laugh.
“No, he isn’t her father. He tries to play the role of her step dad by bringing her toys and candy and paint but that’s it she likes him only for that reason. Other than that she’s giving him a lot of attitude.”
Smart kid.
I sat back and crossed my arms over my chest as I tried to process all of it, “Is her dad in the picture? You do know who her father is, right?” I knew that was a dumb question by the way she scowled at me.
“Of course I know who her dad is.” I waited for her answer as she stared at me. I watched as she took the last bite of her food before wiping her lip with a napkin.
She sighed, “Nikki, um…so it’s a really funny story actually..” she laughed a bit, “Um, well uh you’re her father.”
I blinked a few times, “I’m sorry? What? What are you talking about? I haven’t…we haven’t. I haven’t slept with you in…in five years?!” My eyes widened as I looked at the picture of her daughter again.
I couldn’t wrap my brain around it. That doesn’t make sense, “You left me. How…what? How do I know you didn’t fuck anyone right after you left? Vanity, I’m not her father.”
“Because I was pregnant. And extremely emotional. The first time I slept with someone Arianna was already a year old.” She spoke rather calmly. How the fuck could she be so calm right now?!?
“So you’re telling me I knocked you up and you just fucking left me?!” I shouted, this time more quietly.
“You’re acting like it’s my fault that I left. And it isn’t.” I glanced at her, hearing the coldness in her voice, “Nikki, I would lie about about this. I know you’re her dad. You were the only guy I was with. You knocked me up and I took a whole bunch of tests. Two were positive and one wasn’t giving me a clear reading. I had a doctors appointment…”
“…You had a doctors appointment and then you came home early and saw us.” I frowned as I finally put the puzzle pieces together.
“And then I left.”
We sat in silence for a moment as I stared off into space. I was a father. I had been trying with Brandi for no god damn reason. I glanced over at Vanity as she was already looking at me. First comes denial and then comes…
“Why the hell wouldn’t you fucking tell me?”
Anger.
“That’s fucked up Vanity. You knew how much I wanted to be a dad. To fucking give you a child. And what? You just fucking hide from the world, hide from me? And hide our daughter too? I’ve missed five fucking years and you don’t think to tell me? What the hell is the matter with you?” I berated her as she shook her head, wiping her cheek as she started crying.
“I didn’t know what to do…” Vanity mumbled quietly as she didn’t dare to look at me.
“Didn’t know what to do? You made a selfish decision. For what fucking reason? Because I cheated on you? That’s a bullshit and rather pathetic reason!”
I watched as she gathered her things and started sliding out of the booth until I put my boot on the leather cushion to block her from leaving, “You leave now and I make a call to my lawyer.” I warned as she stared in disbelief.
“Tell him to get a real paternity suit ready.” I continued as she shook her head, “Nikki, please don’t…” Van begged as she put her purse down.
“You’re letting a god damn drug dealer around my daughter? Who fucking does that? Are you getting high with her at home too? Because I fucking know you were high the other night at the strip club.” I snapped as she didn’t say anything.
“You’re getting high around our child?! Van, what the fuck?!” I rubbed my face, I couldn’t believe the shit I was hearing. I looked at her, seeing her eyes full of tears as she tried to keep it together in front of me.
“Nikki, I am so sorry for not telling you about her. But you have no clue how hurt I was or still am. I had to run. I had to do what was best for me and then eventually her. I was going to tell you eventually…” Her voice was soft as I rolled my eyes.
“Classic Vanity.” I shook my head, “Running across town I could see, but completely moving across the country and having my kid out of what? Spite?” I glared at her as she licked the salt from the corner of her mouth, “You can hate me all you fucking want for what I did. Because trust me V, I hate myself for it. But Jesus Christ. A kid Vanity, we made a kid. And because you were so pissed off at me you had me miss out on everything.”
“Nikki-“ “I could have fucking given you and her everything you needed.”
I felt a ball forming in my gut. It was a mixture of anger and guilt. I knew this wasn’t her fault, as it was mine. I put the ball in motion and she ran with it.
“Sixx, I didn’t know what to do! I was scared, I still am scared. I wanted nothing more to have you by my side through all of it but I just couldn’t. I couldn’t face you, the thought of you disgusted me. I couldn’t do it.”
“I want to meet her.” I demanded as she gawked at me before shaking her head, “No? Okay Vanity. We’ll let our lawyers figure it all out.” I rolled my eyes. How could she just fucking deny me the right to see my child?
“She wouldn’t understand Nikki.” I scoffed at her words, “She wouldn’t understand why mommy and daddy aren’t together when she sees all her friends with both parents. I’m not doing that to her.” She snapped back as I shook my head in disbelief.
“Don’t you think she would like to know who I am? She deserves to know her dad. I’m sure she’s asked already.” I reached for my coffee and took a sip.
“She’s never asked.” Vanity pointed out as I stared at her, “She’s worried about cartoons and toys and the drama going on between her stuffed animals. She isn’t worried about where you are or where’ve you been.”
I groaned, “Vanity, you’re really not gonna let me meet our daughter?” I spoke softly as she exhaled deeply.
“We do it on my terms Nikki. There’s no rushing or anything. If you want, you can start hanging out. I’ll introduce you as Uncle Tommy’s best friend and we’ll start with that.”
I smiled, “She calls him uncle Tommy?” I felt my heart warm up a bit.
She nodded, “Uncle Tommy, Tee-Tee, T-bone. Arianna loves him a lot.”
“Does she have my last name at least?” I didn’t think it was a funny thing to say until she started laughing pretty damn hard.
She wiped away a fake tear, “Oh? You were serious? Uh…no? It’s Arianna Blackwood.”
I frowned, “Right…where is Arianna at now?” I questioned.
“With Tommy.” My eyes widened, “Tommy’s in the city? He didn’t tell me anything.” I groaned, “I swear the band is moving further and further apart.”
“That sucks.” I glanced over at her as she seemed more interested in looking at her nails and picking at the polish.
“Haven’t made anything for a few years now…”
“I know.”
I wondered what was going on in that pretty little head of hers. I decided to shut up and just enjoy the silence between us. The quietness wasn’t awkward like I expected it to be, it was still comfortable to me at least.
I studied her features for a bit. Her little tank top was loose on her and I noticed her clavicle stuck out way more then it ever did before. She wasn’t as tan as I remember her being, she’s more pale. Is it cause of the city? Or was it cause of the drugs she’s been consuming? I noticed she had little cuts and bruises along her arms. Was Jason a little rough with her? I wouldn’t imagine her ever staying with a guy like that. She knows better after everything Julian put her through, or at least she should.
“Are we done?” She pulled me from my thoughts as I looked at her. Vanity’s eyes were a dark brown this time, but still absolutely fucking gorgeous.
“What?”
She chuckled, “I said, are we done? We’re both finished with everything. Unless you wanted to-“
I quickly cut her off, “I am sorry for what I did.”
I saw the natural smile leave her face as she stared at me, “I’m not ready to talk about it.” She mumbled quietly.
“But I am. I am really, truly sorry doll.” I cleared my throat as she held her hands in her lap, “I’ll keep apologizing forever. You just don’t know how much I have missed you. Vanity, I still lo-“
“Don’t!” She shouted as it took me by surprise, “Do not fucking say that.” I watched as she grabbed her purse and quickly slid out of the booth.
Okay, maybe that was too soon.
I followed after her as she went out the door, trying to slam it back in my face as I chased her across the street to her car, “Vanity, please don’t walk away from me. I am trying-“
She quickly turned around and glared at me, “I don’t fucking want you to try, Nikki! I don’t want you to do anything except be a father to Arianna! Now back off!” She warned, putting her hand on my chest as she gave me a slight push.
“Doll, I just-“ “Shut up!” I sighed and stepped away from her as she opened up the car door, but I caught it before she could slam it shut, “When can I meet her?”
She glared at me, “I don’t know! Just leave me alone!” She yelled, trying to close the door but my grip was too strong.
I watched as she had tears running down her cheeks, “Why are you crying?” My tone was soft as I started feeling like shit.
She looked up at me, “Can I please leave? I want to go home.” She sobbed as the only thing I wanted to do was wrap her up in my arms, but I knew that would instantly get me an upper cut to the jaw.
“I’ll call you, okay? And we will do it your way. We’ll figure it out. We always do. We’re Van and Nikki, remember?” I said with a smile as she shook her head, wiping her face with the back of her hand.
Her gaze found mine, “Van and Nikki don’t exist anymore.”

Opposites Attract - Part 3

Tumblr media
As planned, you met up with your best friend Erik, at a bar the two of you used to go to. As you went inside you spotted him at the counter so you joined him. “Hello handsome, are you waiting for anyone?” You joked as you placed your bag at your feet, making him jumped at your sudden appearance. “Oh my God Y/N! Never again!” He replied as you laughed at your own joke. “How was your day? I missed you.” You announced before ordering a coke since you were not drinking alcohol and Erik ordered a beer. “We hanged out 2 days ago.” “It’s already too long.” You replied making your best friend chuckled as you got your respective drinks, exchanging a few words to the bar tender to whom you now got along pretty well. “Well, I had a pretty good day actually. Mostly editing pictures from the recent trip.” Erik always loved art, especially photography so naturally he became a photographer and was working for magazines but also in the cinema industry. You were very proud of him. “Oh, the project you’re not allowed to tell me about huh?” You said as you took a sip of your drink, rolling your eyes at him in an amused way. “This one in particular yeah.” He laughed as you pouted. Right after the end of his sentence, you heard your phone getting a notification. You took it out of your bag and saw a text from an unknown number so you opened it.
Unknown: I’m looking forward tomorrow’s session and the song we will bring up to life.
You smiled at your phone as you knew from who the text was, which Erik noticed. “A new man in your life?” His question brought your attention back at him when you realized that you completely forgot to tell him about the new project. He was always the only one knowing what you were working on and you felt bad at forgetting to tell him about that one. “Erik I’m so sorry I totally forgot to tell you but yesterday I got a call for a new collaboration and guess with who I’m currently working? Machine Gun Kelly!” You exclaimed but not too loudly, worried that people would actually hear you. “What?! That’s amazing Y/N!” “Yeah! And the text was from him.” “Can I know what the song will talk about?” He asked as you felt like the two of you had switched position. “Hm, hm.” You nodded your head as a “no” answer before speaking. “Looks like we both have projects that we can’t share yet.” You added in a sassy way as you finished your drink, causing Erik to roll his eyes.
As planned, the next day, you met Kells at the studio but this time it was a night session. You got at the studio around 6p.m., meeting him and the guys. You were all working when it was around midnight and that Rook, Baze and Slim left, leaving Kells and you alone, working essentially on the lyrics. The two of you were getting more and more comfortable around each other as you spent a lot of hours together. Your hard-working side taking over most of the time, you also found yourself laughing a lot at his jokes and the more time you were spending with him, the more you enjoyed his company. You were talking about what the second verse could contain as you were playing with your pen. “I had this idea that we could write two lines about colors, like the fact that we used to see in black and white even though we were surrounded by colors and that now, we actually see those colors. What do you think?” “I actually love this idea, and it will fit perfectly after the chorus.” “I’m gonna write it down then.” You said and did what you told. It took you a few minutes to come up with something beautifully writing. When you were done, you read what you had just written, to be sure there wasn’t any mistake. Once you were done, you raised your head to ask him his opinion when you saw him already looking at you, in a way you haven’t been looked at for what felt like a while. It made you feel some kind of way, even believed you felt butterflies in your stomach. Automatically, a smile appeared on your face. “What?” You asked him with a soft voice. “Oh um, nothing. I was just… Nevermind.” He replied as he looked at the paper you had in your hands and read it. “It’s awesome. What you’ve written.” “Thank you.” You thanked him as you brought your attention back on the paper, trying not to pay attention to what had just happened.
During the rest of the week, you spent your days at the studio with Kells, working on the song. The two of you were getting closer and closer and you couldn’t put words on your relationship. You were friends but there was something more going on that you couldn’t describe. When you would go back to your place, you would often find yourself thinking about him. You tried your best not to but you couldn’t help it. You wondered if it was mutual, if he was also thinking about you and by the texts he would send you, you concluded that he did.  At the end of the week, he invited you to a party he was throwing at his place the following day, on Saturday night, which you accepted. It had been a while since the last time you went to a party and you were quite excited about it so here you were,  getting prepared and trying to look as good as you could, which wasn’t very difficult. For some reason, a part of you wanted to impress him when he would see you. You didn’t really know what to wear, if there was any dress code so you went for a pair of black skinny jeans with a black transparent top with underneath it a black crop tank top with thin strap. For the makeup, you decided not to wear too much so you went for eyeliner and mascara.
When you were done applying your mascara, you took a full look at yourself and despites the fact that you were looking gorgeous, you thought you weren’t looking very good but you did your best not to let your insecurities overwhelming you. You took your bag along with your car’s keys and soon you were on your way to Kells’ party.

BNHA AU [self insert]
Nani the heck is this? read here!
Chapter 1: *plays Joji’s Yeah Right*
“...and heres your living quarters, fully furnished and with groceries that’ll last a while” said my case worker as I meekly followed next to them.
“thank you! its really nice.” I said, trying to not sound sad.
“I know its tough being young and by yourself, but I believe in you Miss Palma! Don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have questions or need other arrangments.”
“thank you for your kind words, I’ll keep that in mind” I said as politely as I could because I knew I wasn’t going to call them for shit. “Ill get my luggage out of my car, its not much so I’ll be fine if you need to leave”
“oh alright, Ill leave you to settling in and remember that a UA staff will be coming by with your uniforms tomorrow in the afternoon.”
oh jeez I forgot about that, not looking forward to get fat shamed in this country, let alone by a school staff. “oh right! it almost slipped my mind that here you wear uniforms in high school! hehe thank you for the reminder!”
“no problem! Bye bye”
oof! I was getting tired of pretending to be polite to that case worker. The past 3 months has been tough with the whole being sent away from my family and finding a school with nearby housing. At least I can sleep well without thinking where I’ll end up next. I unpack my 3 suitcases of clothes, personal belongings, cosmetics and other nessities. I take out my framed photo of my family and place it on my bed stand, I miss them and the doggos. I try not to cry and continue to put my things away. I made myself dinner, took a bath and laid in bed; and I’m thinking if I should call my parents to tell them I got settled. I checked the time, it was 4am their time, I sent a text instead.
[Hola mama y papa! ya estoy en mi apartamento, es muy lindo. Llama me cuando puedas, te extrano mucho y tambien a los doggos!]
I haven’t talked to my parents in a week because of the whole phone arrangement and being too busy with the entrance exam. Now I guess I’ll sleep and do some school supply shopping after meeting with the staff member.
-the next day-
Its saturday and its gloomy out and I wake up thinking, great! even the sky knows its going to be a rough day today! I get dressed, eat and gluzzle down my daily 2 cups of coffee. I scroll through my private social media handles to check on my friends, looks like they’re having fun, without me. I suck in the tears because I know DAMN well they’re sad I’m gone too. I distract myself with memes and I think maybe I should make some tea? and some cookies too? do i even have tea? I go through the cupboads and pantry, the case worker wasn’t kidding when they said that I had groceries that’ll last a while! I had 2 different types of tea, dry pastas, canned goods, snacks and some traditional ingredients for japanese and mexican cusine. I go searching for a kettle or teapot and I find a juicer in the way back of the top cupboard. There was a note on the juicer that said ‘to the next tenant, my wife didn’t want to take this big, messy thing to our next place, hope you find use out of this!’ I laugh at the idea that there was probably a lovers quarral over the juicer. I make tea and some green juice, just so I can get rid of the bundle of kale in the fridge, I hate kale. I make some cookies too but its just so I can get my mind off things since I was so nervous on meeting this staff member. Right on the dot, at 3pm, theres a knock at my door. I look through the peep hole and I see this woman with blue eyes and dark purple-ish, black hair in busniess causal attire. I open the door and put on my best ‘everything is ok’ face.
“hello! are you Miss Palma?”
“yes I am! are you the UA staff member with the uniforms?”
“I am! its so nice to meet you, I am Kayama sensei or better know as Midnight”
“Midnight? Ok um, would you like to come inside?”
“oh yes, thank you! Now I understand that you live alone?” she said as she walked in to the apartment.
“yes thats correct, I got here yesterday and settled in”
“oh wow, and at such a young age! Well If you need anything or need to talk about anything thats bothering you, please let me know! This whole you being separated from family and home worries me” She said in the most sincer tone that I almost started crying. I haven’t heard single person talk to me so genuinely since I left America and I need a trusted adult to help me, I heavily considered her offer.
“oh thank you for your offer, I might need some help in a few weeks BUT for now, may I offer you some tea? coffee? green juice? maybe some cookies?”
“green? juice? whats in it? I’ve never heard of green juice before”
“oh right! its a California health culture thing. Its the juice of pinapple, apple, kale, lemon and cucumber. The combination of the fruits and vegetables is for a healthy disgestive system and energy for before or after exersize”
“that sounds tasty! Ill have green juice please”
I serve her the juice and sit across from her in the living room. I see the clothing bags and think that thats alot of clothing bags just to give me 3 sets of uniforms. She drinks the juice and wanted to say something about my expression when I saw the bags but her eyes widened and she looked at the cup of juice.
“OH MY GOODNESS! this is the best and freshest juice I’ve ever had NO JOKE! You said this is a thing where you’re from? I need to invest in a juicer to make this at home!” she said so shocked and I was surprised to recieve the praise like I invented the juice.
“I’m glad you like it! Its like a little slice of my hometown to me to you”
“oh? ok back to business! I see you eyeing the uniforms, you want to try them on? I brought some sizes up and down from the given mesurements.”
“um ok sure! Let me take these to try on in my room, ill be right out”
I take the bags to my room and I zip them open and I see the white collared shirts, gray blazer looking thing and skirts. I think oh jeez my ass is definately not gonna fit in these bitches. I put on the shirt and blazer that best fit and lastly the skirt, SUPRIZE! you can see my ass cheeks hanging out from the bottom. I walk out of the room to Midnight.
“ok so I found a shirt and top that fits well on me BUT the skirt...” and I turn around and show her my exposed ass cheeks peeking underneath.
“oh dear, thats definately not in regulation! Ok so you need a longer skirt? like... another 6 inches?” she said as she takes out a measuring tape from her purse.
“um yea, if thats doable”
“it is but we won’t have that ready until the 1st day of classes, so I guess for now, try on the pants and see if any of those fit”
Great. I’m going into a new school, misgendered and foreign passing. 2 of the pants in the clothes bag fit well....too well. We said our good byes and I had at least 2 sets of uniforms ready until I get a proper pair. No matter, at least my ass won’t be hanging out at school. I go school supply shopping and came upon the holy grail of stationary, SCENTED PAPER AND GLITTER PENS. Of course in the pastel rainbow colors and matching lead pencils. I get a whole matching set along with a backpack, water bottle and coffee tumbler. I was going to soon regret that matching set (more on that later) but I was just SO happy that I was pink, pretty and sparkly.
-Fast forward to the 1st day-
I was in a much better mood because the sun was out, the coffee smelled particularly good, I made myself look cute but toned down for a good 1st day impression. I grab my keys and think I think I’m forgeting one detail? What could it be? and I thought Oh! I need to text my parents that I’m happy and I’m going to school now! I am noticably happy that the nice front desk lady of my housing noticed and wished me luck on my 1st day. I get in my car and I have 1 hour to get to school but its only a 8 minute drive and I wanted to circle to find parking and see where the entrance is so I can teleport from wherever I parked. I pass the gates before seeing the parking and I think oh cool its just right there! but Ill still teleport in the front. I park and I don’t even get out of my car, I just hug my backpack and teleport in front of the gates. I start walking toward the gates and try to not smile like an idiot but I start to notice all the looks and stares. And I think oh they just don’t recongize me because I look foreign or didn’t see me at the entrance exams. As a enter the 1st year doors I hear
‘yo you see that guy? he looks as pretty as a girl! Guess his favorite color is baby pink? Are they wearing eyeliner? I wonder how long is his hair? That bun is tastful, no homo tho!’
I FORGOT THAT PANTS ARE THE BOY’S UNIFORM AND MY SKIRTS ARE STILL BEING TAILORED! I socially already fucked up, guess I won’t be making friends anytime soon. But I guess I’m glad they think I’m a pretty girl in the boy’s uniform? I walk up to the table at the furthest hall on the right that says International Student Check In thats me. I get greeted by a man with a boombox looking thing on their neck, black pants and jacket, small triangle sunnies and yellow hair.
“HEEYYY welcome to UA!”
“oh thank you! I am Itati Palma, American student”
“okay lets see, palma palma paruma AH found you! OH YOURE THAT JAZZY SAX GIRL THAT TURNED HERO!”
oh jeez who put that on my record?! “hehehe yea thats me”
“coolio jazzy girl! Heres your schedule, pins and a note from Midnight”
“pins?”
“yeeeaahh! pins to put on your uniform to let other students and staff where youre from and get to know you better!”
I open the small manila pouch into my hand and two pins fall into my palm, the American and Mexican flag. I look at them and tried not to cry, I missed my home and chill life in Cali.
“hey hey! your classes are on the 3 hall on the right, door all the way down.”
“oh right!” that snapped me out of my sentiment, “thank you again! Mr?”
“they call me Mic sensei”
“Mic? ok thanks!”
I walk quickly to my classroom, I get to the outside of the door and think welp, heres to 3 years of being called pretty boy and other dumb shit. I open the door and I see 9 desks and 5 people already there. Oh jeez, what a small class size but at least nobody is staring at me. I sit in the middle seat, though I prefer the front desk but they were already claimed! Guess classroom culture is different here too. In front of me was a boy to what I thought was a Japanese native until they turned and I caught a glimpse of their pin, they’re Korean! They noticed my pins too and had a confused look as they gave me a once over.
“You’re an...american? and mexican? You traveled quite a ways”
“um yeah hehe, I am Itati Palma by the way!”
“hmm, nice to meet you Palma-san, I’m Jin Matsui”
“nice to meet you too!”
Before I could ask them where in Korea are they from, the door slammed open. A tall and muscular white-blonde girl walked in, I tried so hard not to stare at them but they looked so tough and wondered if that’s part of their quirk. She sat behind me and Jin and I turned around to get a better look at them. I saw their pins, the Russian and Japanese flag, shes also a foreign student. She looked up with a death stare at me and Jin but then her eyes widened and she smiled.
“ah! fellow foreigners! Hello!” she spoke in a predominate Russian accent that matches so well with her image.
“um yeah! Hello, I’m Itati Palma”
“Hi, and I’m Jin Matsui”
“Palma-san and Matsui-san?Milana Mikhalia Oleshin, very nice to meet you!”
Oh my! A long and hard to pronounce name, I guess we aren’t at nickname or first name basis yet for everything to go smoother. I turn to my bag because I got a text, its my parents!
[Hola mija! Que bien que estas feliz hoy! Te amo y ponde bien en tus studias, dios te bendiga.]
Oh mom, you have no idea how bad I had it earlier. I look around and see everyone has nice, canvas school bags and I have my baby pink one with a puppy on it. And everyone had normal stationary and you can smell and see mine from across the hall. Oof, what I’d give to redo today. I look at my schedule and see that I have a short school day this semester.
Palma, Itati (F) (International)                             Intelligence Core Program [1-A]
Homeroom......9a-10am..........................................Intelligence Wing, room 1-A
Weaponery.......10:15am-11:50am.........................................Gym
Hero Course [Ethics and Laws].....12p-1:15p...........Hero Wing, room 1-A
Free Period.........2:50p-3:30p.......................................TBA
Intelligence Course[Statistics&Strategy]3:45p-4:40p..Intelligence Wing,room 3-A
Seems like a reasonable schedule, better than America. I didn’t know that Oleshin-san was peeking over my shoulder to read my schedule.
“YOURE THE GIRL THAT TESTED OUT OF GENERAL STUDIES?!”
I jumped in my seat “um yea?”
“I heard about you! The staff and school district are boasting that they got the potentially genius level international students. They said that theres 2 of them here at UA and they are jumping straight into course work! One has placed college level English and 3rd year Level Strategtic Thinking! And thats you!”
Jin turns around, looking bootytickled “erm, what? Let me see your schedule.”
He scans and compares it to his “well theres proof that you are one of those students, but then again, so am I”
I take a look at his, almost identical except they’re not taking the hero course, but second year english. What a weird turn of events that I’d be in the same class as other international students in the same school arrangments? I guess they’re my friends now.
A clean cut man in a blue jumpsuit with multiple patches on the arms opens the door. I just knew they were our teacher, it shows that he’s been through it all and has wisdom to bestow upon us.
“Hello, good morning students, if you could all take your seats so I can get things started”
Everyone fell into place and was attentive.
“Welcome to the Intelligence Program, You can call me Diya sensei, I’m a retired secret service of Japan better known as Agent 99 code name ‘Space Cowboy’”
I tried so hard not to laugh at that code name, I wondered why he was called that. Maybe his quirk?
“Now to take roll, say present when I say your name”
He finished roll and said “huh, 3 international students? I expect impeccable work from you three. I won’t slow down for you”
I somehow wasn’t scared of that statement. Before moving on to explaining the coursework and lessons, a lizard bolted from the window and to Diya sensei. He let out one of the most high pitched yelps and retreated to the corner. How can a man so sharp and decorated, be reduced to a crying mess over a lizard? Matsui-san captures the fast lizard and wraps it in his gym towel to take outside after homeroom. Sensei regains his composure and continues class like nothing happened. After homeroom, we all had weaponery but we didn’t get to use any gear or weapons yet. Instead we got measured for our jumpsuits and PE clothes plus got settled in the locker rooms. To my surprise it was co-ed locker rooms since it was a small class size and only 3 girls. Everyone was respectful of eachother’s bodies and privacy. Next I was supposed to go to the ethics class but in Midnight’s note, she said that I start that class on Wednesday so for the time being, I have to report to the staff room to meet with them. I go to the staff room and on the way I see a class doing drills with quirks outside, it looked fun and everyone looked so focused. I get to the staff room and Midnight hands me my tailored skirts and 3rd set of uniform. I also got to know the other teachers and staff including the principal, a big ass fuckin rat. I was about to punt that bitch when they opened the door if they didn’t start talking. Other than that, it was a nice time and then there was lunch. I walked in the cafeteria and saw the long ass lines and said ‘fuck that’, so I teleported to my car and ate my packed food in there. Next was my free period, Midnight said that it was alright for me to wander around campus so I can get to know the place better so I can teleport from class to class. I wander around without my bag, just my phone and schedule with school map folded in my pocket. I go to the hero wing to find the 1-A room, nobody was in there, maybe its gym time for them? I pass by a group of 3 upper classmen, A boy with black hair and pointy ears, a taller boy with lemon colored hair and a girl with long sky blue hair. They all looked at me as I passed by and I felt intimidated because they have a strong presence to them but I didn’t know why or how. I hid behind the corner and heard them talking about me,
“did you see that? I made accidental eye contact and I think I’m going to be sick”
“hmm, do you think thats the international student Mirio? They had an american flag pin”
“Maybe? Theres no description of them other than they’re American and a 1st year in the Intelligence program”
“wait, sceret service? I thought they saved their school from a gang by disabling the leader? Why are we interested in her again Mirio?”
“She’s a true hero Amajiki! We could learn alot from her and maybe change their mind to be a hero, like they were meant to be”
What the heck was that Lemon boy going off about? A hero? Change my mind? Learn from me? I turned the corner to tell them off but they were gone and I wasn’t about to go looking for them. I wander some more and the bell rings and a swarm of students come out of their classrooms, I couldn’t naviagate around and I think, guess Ill teleport, BUT THEN I COULDN’T! Like when I was acting up back home and my mom would use her erasure quirk on me to prevent me from escaping. But my mom couldn’t be here!? Then what the fuck is going on? Then a man’s voice from behind me spoke,
“are you lost young lady?”
I turn around and I’m shaking in fear before I even see this mystery man. I see him and he’s a tall, dark long haired with eye bags. I knew right away he was the one who erased my quirk, his eyes glowed the same way my mom did when she activated her quirk. Mom i thought and how much I missed her and I couldn’t hold back my tears this time. I cried in front of this man I just met. He arched his brow then gazed his eyes on my flag pins. He gasped and deactivated his quirk.
“oh no I’m sorry Miss! I didn’t mean to scare you to tears, are you alright?”
I stammered “um uhhhh -sniff- I’m, I’m ok! um I’ll just leave”
“no please, let me escort you to your next class, I feel terrible for making you cry. Especially on the 1st day”
I felt sort of better when he offered, I let him walk with me.
“you didn’t scare me, I cried because you and my mother have the same quirk and looking at your glowing eyes reminded me of her and how much I miss her”
“oh! same quirk you say? Were you a trouble maker?”
“nah, I would try to teleport away when it was time to do housework when I was younger and she’d disable my quirks so I couldn’t escape and HAD to do chores”
He laughed “what a woman! Say, your not from around here huh?”
“nope, I’m from America with hispanic roots”
“OH! you’re an ethnic American! That’s why you have two flags.”
“yup, I got here about a week ago and settled about 3 days ago”
“yeah, Midnight told me about you. You’re a very unique indivdual, how are your classes so far?”
“nothing interesting yet”
“well hopefully things pickup soon, oh i think this is your wing”
“um oh yea it is, thank you for walking me over, Mr?”
“Mr Aizawa, or better known as Eraserhead”
“Eraserhead? um ok thanks again!”
“no problem, see you wednesday”
“wednesday?”
“yea, I’m the Hero Course ethics teacher. See you then!”
Then this man deadass walks away after dropping that bomb on me? What a legend, can’t wait to sit in his class. My last class was more up my alley and the upperclassmen were so nice that I didn’t feel any different from them. I walked to my car to reflect on all the shit that happened today and what I am going to do to make school bearable. The drive to my place was pleasant but I saw a bunch of students walking together like they just became friends and wanted to spend more time together. I felt a little lonely when I got home, I remembered when I was in america and I would talk to my friends after school and how they’d wait for me after band practice to hang out. I took off my uniform and hanged up my new ones and had one really good cry. I haven’t cried that hard in months and it was much needed for my mental health. I washed up and ate and tried to just forget all the dumb shit of the day when I laid down to sleep.
-fast foward to Wednesday-
“hey Palma-san! did you do the online homework for stats and strats?”
“yee, did you?” I said knowing damn well what Matsui-san was going to say.
“psh! course I did, I was just making sure you did it so you might have something to do during free period”
“HEY! T-posing through the halls IS a viable thing to do! I was studying where everthing is on campus for future use”
“IS NOT WHEN YOU LEVITATE AND SCREECH IN THE BOYS BATHROOM WHILE I’M IN THERE!”
Before I could retort back, Oleshin-san butted in,
“aye Palma-san, you excited for your hero course class?”
“oof yee, the teacher is kinda hot”
“I SAW and I’m jealous! You have to tell me if the boys in that class are hot too!”
“ugh, don’t you two have better things to talk about than butts and boys?”
“I’m so excited tho! To meet anybody thats outside our program and learning new things?! I just hope they like me, I even made them cookies”
“Palma-san nani the heck!? I want a cookie”
“You guys can get a cookie during lunch if theres any leftovers”
I quickly change after weapons class and bolt to the hero wing. I walk down the hall and I’m really feeling nervous! I look at my coffee tumbler and felt calmer as I took a sip. Ok Ita, you can do this, no chickening out now I psych myself up as I stand in front of the door. I open the door, expecting everyone to be strewn about and talking...nope. I walk in and everyone is in their seats and sensei was standing up in the front and I disrupted them. Everyone was staring and I instantly get flushed and I check to make sure I was in the right classroom and said,
“did I fuck up?”
“no actually I was just talking about you, perfect timing!” said Aizawa with a smile. “why don’t you come up and introduce yourself?”
“um ok” I said as I scanned the room. I got up to the front, chugged down my coffee for dominance, did a quick spin for drama and put on my ‘I swear I slept a normal amount of sleep last night’ face.
“Hi hello~ My name is Itati Palma and I’m from America! The reason I don’t look like one is because my ethnic background is hispanic, or in other words, both of my parents are from Mexico but I was born in America. My quirk isn’t the strongest or the most useful BUT I can be of better help in other parts of combat, so please, we don’t have to be friends but lets all work hard together” I bow respectfully and turn to sensei.
“nice speech kid, you can take the seat on the third row”
“um ok thanks”
As I’m walking toward my seat, sensei walks out saying he’ll be right back with more handouts. I sit and I feel all eyes on me, giving me the once over. The person in front of me has a bird head but normal human body from the neck down, the person behind me has half their face covered with multiple limbs and the person on my left has red spiky hair and was staring REALLY hard at me. I almost didn’t want to look at them until sensei came back, I just sat there blushing really hard.
“Kirishima! stop staring at her! Can’t you see you’re making her uncomfortable?!” said the boy with glasses making chopping motions.
“Oh sorry! Its just that I’ve never seen curly hair of that type in person, you have really nice hair and your backpack is cute”
“um thank you, I feel sorta out of place with it tho, everyone else has normal bags”
“tch, makes you look like a little girl” muttered the boy with the blonde hair.
“Kacchan thats so rude! I think their choice of bag is cute and different in a good way” said some broccoil looking ass.
“well um, not to change the subject, but I made you guys cookies! I got up extra early to bake them”
“Cookies?! oh how sweet of you!” joked the pink girl.
“Oh here, let me help you with that” said the boy with glasses as he stood up.
“oh no I got this” I take out a package of colorful napkins and the box of cookies and I toss the napkins up and activate my quirk to pass out the napkins. Then I opened the box and gave everyone a cookie and gave sensei 3.
“so cool! you passed out the treat without getting up!” squealed what I assume to be the invisible girl.
“THESE COOKIES ARE SOOO YUMMY TOO!” proclaimed the boy with a black streak in their yellow hair.
Everyone was in a better mood and I got compliments for my cookies, I was in my happy place. After class, as I was packing my bag, the boy with the glasses came up to my desk
“thank you for the cookie, Palma-san, you really know how to bring a crowd together”
“oh thank you, uhhhhh”
“hm? OH my name is Tenya Iida, sorry I forgot to introduce myself earlier”
“Iida-san? oh its alright, its nice to meet you”
“I haven’t seen you around halls, sensei tells us your in a different program? Is it true?”
“Yes its true, also the school is kinda big and I can be easy to miss in a crowd because I’m so short”
“I see, well its lunch time! May I walk you to the lunch room?”
“oh thank you but I usually eat in the parking lot” I soon regreted my words because this square faced, glasses wearing ass gasped and grabbed me by the wrist followed by dragging me down the hall.
“You’ve been by yourself during such social time?! Now I have a better reason to bring you to the lunch group!”
“eating by yourself isn’t a huge deal” I say but looking back, thats all I’ve been doing.
“A true hero never lets a fellow classmate eat alone!”
I get aggitated and retort “well what if they want to be alone!” as I teleport out of his grip and 3 feet behind him. He sees the whole thing and stopped on the dime, he was shocked.
“you, you used your quirk to escape my grip? What is your quirk exactly?”
“Heck, um its Mid-range Telekinesis, I can levitate, levitate others and objects and teleport about 2 miles at a time.”
“thats incredible power! what do you mean your quirk isn’t strong or useful?! You’re gifted in so many ways!”
I wasn’t having fun anymore, he wasn’t letting me talk or left me alone when I said I wanted to.
“please stop”
“hmm? stop what”
“stop, talking about my quirk like I’m some sort of show horse”
“Show horse? no no no! I didn’t mean to-”
“STOP!” I didn’t want to hear it, I just wanted to hide. Tears were welling up in my eyes.
“what is going on here? Tenya, what are doing to that poor girl?” it was Midnight. “oh no, are you ok Itati?” and I start to cry when she made eye contact with me.
“its ok, you’re ok! please don’t feel sad” she comforted me as she held me, “why don’t you go to lunch Tenya, I’ll take care of things here”
“but I- I mean-”
“please, she’s been through too much already”
He walked away, looking back every few steps. Midnight escorted me to the staff room so I can calm down a bit and talk about what happened.
“You want to talk about it?” she asked me softly.
“yea, the school culture is too much for me”
“how so? Are you not making friends? Are the classes too hard?”
“its mostly the students outside of my program, they’re too into their hero agenda to be the best that they aren’t considering other’s personal feelings or perfernces”
I then tell her about the 3 upper classmen that talked about me and what Iida told me as they dragged me down the hall.
“oh I see now, it almost feels like you’re being targeted and pressured.”
“yeah, I want to learn about this hero culture more but this is too much at once. It’s strange because back home, I was so used to be part of the crowd and stand out when I wanted to. And here it feels like I breathe a little too loud and I’m suddenly getting looks”
“ok, I’m glad you aren’t giving up. But if they start getting physical and racist, please let any of the staff know.”
“alright, Thank you Midnight! I don’t know what I’d do without you”
I go about my day and tell Matsui and Oleshin what happened after school. They weren’t too keen about it,
“That glasses wearing asshole!”
“yea not good on a future hero if you tell me”
“We got your back Palma-san”
“YEAH! we international students have to stick together, its scary being alone”
“yea Matusi-san is right. If any of those hero asses try any of us, I’ll flex on them and toss them in the trash!” Oleshin-san said as she flexed her strong arms.
“And I can portal us to safety or anywhere really” Matsui-san said as he jumped.
“oh guys! I’m gonna cry again!” I said because I was so touched by their words.
“and I’ll T-pose, screech and rise on them. Maybe levitate them in the trash too”
We all laugh as we flex and T-pose together in the school parking lot. They walked me to my car. We were about to part ways to head home when I said
“hey, um you guys can call me Ita, if you want”
“Ita? then you can call me Jin”
“oh we doing short hand! then you can call me Mimi”
“Jin and Mimi huh? ok! see you guys tomorrow”
“bye!”
“until tomorrow”
As I drove home, I thought Holy shit I just made friends.

Coffee shop AU, please! :D
HERE. WE. GO. Coffee shop au from my post the other day. Shamelessly stole Krem’s coffee order from @fatale-distraction because I know nothing about coffee shops or the things you order from them.
This is so long I posted it on AO3 too (link as source)
Asha barely glances at the cup before she calls for its owner. “Flat white for Colin?” She double checks that the paper lid is in place and then sets the cup down, name-out, on the counter so he can grab it.
He doesn’t.
She sets the next drink out, calls for that person, then repeats the call for Colin. He paid already; he should get his drink. She hovers as a lull in the crowd means she doesn’t have any drinks to make, scanning the customers, and when she calls for Colin a final time she sees a blonde man turn from examining the flyers on the bulletin board.
He blinks at her once, then smiles, and her eyes drop to his lips as his scar stretches and pulls the right side of his mouth up higher. She swallows, blushes, then scoots the cup a little closer to him as he walks over to the counter.
He’s… Maker, he’s beautiful. He has golden hair that’s styled, but would obviously be curly if he didn’t, amber eyes, and a row of white teeth that she can see when his smile grows.
“Thank you,” he says, and he glances down at his name scrawled on the cup in black sharpie.
“My pleasure,” she says, and her eyes crinkle at the corners when she smiles up at him.
He can’t stop thinking about the girl at the coffee shop, the barista who called for Colin three times before he realized she meant him. She was beautiful with brown hair and tan skin and freckles for days and when she smiled at him he forgot how to speak.
Not that that’s unusual. Him forgetting how to speak to a beautiful woman, anyway. At least he’d managed to say thank you before he swallowed his tongue.
Maybe… maybe next time he goes back to get a coffee he can tell her his real name.
Not that he needs more coffee exactly. The last cup is still taunting him from his trashcan and he really needs to stop drinking it.
Maybe he’ll just switch to decaf.
He goes to the same little coffee shop at the same time the next day, trying to pretend like he isn’t hoping a little (okay a lot) that she’ll be there. He’ll say his real name and he’ll see hers on her nametag and then…
Well and then nothing, likely, but he takes a steadying breath before pushing through the front door. The bell tinkles as he steps into the little store, and he immediately locks eyes with the same barista from last time.
She grins at him and steps to the register when a blonde worker elbows her in the ribs. Cullen’s lips curl to match hers, and he allows his eyes a risky glance down to look at her name tag.
Asha.
“Good morning!” she says, voice cheerful. “Colin, right? Flat white?”
“I, uhh–yes?” he says, and then winces. He didn’t correct his name, but she’s already writing it down.
She passes the cup off to the other woman and rings it up, just barely brushing their fingers together when she passes back his change. He clears throat a little and drops the change into the tip jar, earning himself another winning smile.
He drifts away when Asha turns to help the customer behind him in line, but this time he’s listening for Colin to be called.
When it is, it’s Asha’s voice, and he turns with arched eyebrows to see her standing with his drink in her hand, smiling.
“Thank you,” he says, because that’s what you say to the person who makes you a drink, and she laughs a little as she presses the cup into his hands.
“My pleasure,” she says, and then she has to turn away to make another drink.
“You give Jackboot your number or what?” Sera rolls out her shoulders and stretches as the last of the morning rush leaves. “That why you made me switch from making drinks to taking orders?”
Asha blushes but nods, turning away from Sera to wipe down one of the machines. “Yeah. He’s… cute.”
Sera snorts a little. “If you’re into that sort of thing,” she says, shuddering to indicate that she is not.
“Think he’ll call?” Asha’s small voice betrays her uncertainty, and Sera’s eyes go soft before she answers.
“He’d be crazy not to,” she says, and then wraps one arm around Asha’s shoulders to pull the taller woman down for a kiss on the cheek.
“Hey, Curly? There’s a number on your cup.”
Cullen looks over from his computer at Varric, frowns, and pushes his glasses higher up on his nose. “A what?”
Varric picks it up and turns it so that Cullen can see the side of his cup with his name and order scrawled on it. Under that, though, in a different pen, is a set of ten digits and Asha’s name.
Her phone number.
“Looks like someone has a crush on… Colin.” Varric looks positively smug, and Cullen reaches out to take the cup from him. It’s nearly empty, just a swallow or two left, and it’s probably cold. He would have thrown it away without ever seeing it if Varric hadn’t pointed it out. “Did you take someone else’s cup?”
Cullen’s fingers are already itching to pull out his phone. “Thanks, Varric,” he says, and Varric accepts the dismissal with a chuckle.
He waits until the other man is out of his sight before pulling up his phone to put Asha’s name and number in his contacts. It’s too early to call. He… he should wait. At least until he’s finished working.
He should… he should wait.
Asha drops her phone when it starts ringing. It bounces harmlessly onto her bed, but she still dropped it in surprise. A number she doesn’t recognize lights up the screen as Maryden’s latest song plays from the little speakers.
It’s a local number, at least. The caller ID says Denerim. She answers it.
“Hello?” She clears her throat and tries again, sinking onto her mattress with a stiff back. “Hello?”
A pause, then that beautiful voice from the coffee shop reaches her ear. “Hi, um, hello. Asha?”
Her breath rushes out of her lungs in a little dreamy sigh. “This is she.”
“This is, ah, Cullen from the coffee shop. You gave me your number?” His voice is a little staticky through the phone, but it’s definitely him, and she flops backward onto her mattress.
“I did,” she confirms. “I’m… I’m glad you called, Colin.”
There’s another pause, longer this time. “Y-yes, I, me too. I wanted to ask if you wanted to have dinner this weekend. With me.” He adds with me as a bit of an afterthought, and Asha huffs out a little laugh.
“I would love to,” she says, and then adds, “Do you like Tevinter food? There’s a new restaurant near here that I’ve been dying to try. It’s supposed to be really good.”
“I can’t say I’ve ever had any, but I’m happy to try. Does Saturday work for you?”
Asha can barely contain her excitement. “Yeah, that should be fine. I’ll find the address and text it to you, okay?”
“Sounds great,” Cullen says. “I’ll… see you then.”
“I’m looking forward to it! Bye, Colin.”
He laughs, just a little. “Bye.”
She hangs up the phone and punches into the air above her head for a moment before springing up. She dashes from the room and bangs on Sera’s door across the narrow little hallway.
Sera opens the door a half second later, obviously dressed up to leave, and raises her eyebrows.
“He called,” Asha breathes. “We’re going out Saturday.”
Sera grins and raises her hand for a high-five. “Yeah! Inky’s gonna get it.”
Saturday rolls around very, very slowly. Asha is buzzing with anticipation, though he doesn’t come back for coffee again. That’s fine, though. They’ve been texting a little, and he still seems interested, and even Sera’s teasing hasn’t dampened her excitement.
She gets off work a few hours before her date, and she takes the opportunity to nap a bit so she won’t start falling asleep over dinner. She gets ready slowly, shaving, moisturizing, blowdrying, painting her face, putting the piercings back in that she isn’t allowed to sport at the coffee shop, dressing twice before settling on a sundress that shows off her half-sleeve and legs.
She reminds Sera where she’s going before she leaves, promises to text if plans change, and then takes one final glance in the mirror to make sure her makeup isn’t smudged and her hair isn’t frizzing before she leaves.
The restaurant is close enough to walk to, so she does, enjoying what warmth Ferelden can offer in the summer.
This feels big. Like something’s going to change tonight, and she shivers.
Cullen makes it to the restaurant a few minutes before Asha does, but he’s still waiting for their table when she walks up. She sees him first, touching his elbow to get his attention, and his mouth drops open a little before he can stop himself.
If he thought she was beautiful at 7:30am, she’s indescribable now. Her hair is falling in soft waves around her shoulders, her eyes are lined with dark eyeliner that makes them look impossibly greener, a tiny silver loop is in her nose, and when she reaches up with one hand to tuck her hair behind her ear his gaze is drawn to the flowers tattooed onto her arm.
“Hi,” he breathes, and then curses himself. He should be able to say something more intelligent than that.
She doesn’t seem to mind, unashamedly letting her eyes dip down to take in the dark button-up he’s wearing, the sleeves rolled up and out of the way. She looks back up at him and grins, red lips twisting and tempting him more than they should.
“Hi,” she says, bright and happy. “Are you ready?”
He nods, and offers her his arm when the hostess arrives to lead them to their table. She takes it, tucking her hand into his elbow, and lets out a little sigh of satisfaction when she feels the muscles there.
This date was a great idea.
The date goes well enough that they agree on another one before it’s even over. He insists on driving her home when she says she walked, and though she can see him eyeing the alienage district with suspicious eyes, he doesn’t say anything about it. He just lets her out at the door of the apartment building with a soft smile, and promises to call her.
And he actually does.
Every time she picks up the phone, she greets him with a cheery, “Hi, Colin!” Each time she does, it becomes just that much harder to correct her.
They go out again a few days later when she has two off days in a row. He picks her up this time and drives her to his favorite restaurant in the city. “It has the best real Ferelden food in Denerim,” he informs her. “It tastes like being at home.”
Ferelden food isn’t her favorite, but she eats it with a smile. She even tries one of the dark beers he seems to favor, though she doesn’t like that much either.
She does like him though. And he seems to like her too.
On their third date, they try Antivan food. He’s at least had it before, though never from a genuinely Antivan restaurant. It’s a bit of a learning experience for him, but he obediently tries everything they order, even eating directly off of her fork when she unthinkingly offers it to him across the table.
She’s squirming with anticipation by the time the meal is over. She would have dragged him up to her apartment after their first date when he drove her home, but he’s been so much of a gentleman that she hasn’t really had the opportunity.
But. Tonight’s the night. He picked her up. Sera is away for the evening doing Red Jenny business. His hair is starting to curl more around the edges as it grows out, and she keeps staring at it and imagining how it’s going to feel under her fingers.
The check comes, and he snatches it up before Asha can try to pay. He passes his card to the waitress and then excuses himself from the table for a minute. Alone, Asha checks her phone to make sure Sera hasn’t changed her plans–she hasn’t, thank the Maker–and then the waitress comes back with the receipt.
Cullen’s still in the bathroom, so Asha pulls the receipt and pen to her side of the table to leave the tip. The waitress was nice, and Asha’s had this exact job, so she’s probably too generous before–
“You’re shitting me.”
The words slip from her mouth before she can stop them, and she claps a hand over her mouth before glancing around to see if anyone heard. No one reacted, so she lowers her hand and glares down at the receipt.
Then she picks up his card for confirmation.
Cullen S. Rutherford.
Not Colin. Cullen. Fucking Cullen.
She’s literally been calling this man the wrong name for days. Weeks, almost. She would have taken him home and fucked him and called him the wrong name.
Panic starts to well in her chest, and she scrawls her name across the signature line on the receipt before dropping card and pen on the table and scooping up her purse.
But that’s when he comes back–Cullen–and the way he frowns when he sees her clutching her purse to her chest makes her feel like she’s kicked a puppy.
“Are you alright?” he asks, hovering just far enough away so she could still get up and run if she needs to.
She wants to. Her brain is going “!!!” like a siren. Any other time she would have excused herself.
But then he sits down across from her and she finds herself rambling before she can stop herself.
“You’ve been letting me call you Colin and that isn’t your name! Were you going to tell me?” His face drops and she sounds angrier than she is, but she’s embarrassed and can’t figure out how to care. “Would you have let me introduce you to my friends like that? Write birthday cards to ‘Colin Rutherford’? Ask your friends how they met ‘Colin’?”
She’s working herself up and this is embarrassing and she finally bites her lip to stop talking. She covers her face with her hands and lets out a shaky breath.
Their table is deathly silent for a long moment, then Cullen starts to laugh.
Asha peeks between her fingers at him, still frowning, and watches as he runs one hand through his hair, mussing his curls. “This isn’t funny,” she says, a little bit of a whine still in her voice.
Cullen shrugs, takes the receipt and puts his card back in his wallet. “It’s a little funny,” he says, still grinning. Asha stares at his scar to avoid his eyes. His cheeks are pink and growing darker. “I couldn’t figure out how to tell you.”
She resists lowering her face to the table. “How about ‘hey Ash, you’ve been calling me by the wrong name since  the day we met’?”
“Hey.” Cullen stretches one arm out and places his hand palm-up on the table before her. She glances down at it, then up at his face. He smiles lopsidedly at her and wiggles his fingers until she puts his hand in hers. “It’s fine.”
“It isn’t,” she starts to protest, but he just squeezes her fingers.
“It is fine,” he corrects, very gently, and he rubs his thumb across her knuckles. The motion feels intimate, warm, and Asha finds herself smiling back at him. "And it will be a funny story one day.”
“One day,” she echoes, then she sighs and puts her other hand on top of his. “I’m sorry anyway. I’ve ruined our evening.”
Cullen shakes his head at her before standing. He doesn’t let go of her hand, using it to pull her out of her seat and through the restaurant. He stops in the parking lot under a street light, using his free hand to tuck a lock of Asha’s dark hair behind her ear before cupping her jaw.
“You didn’t ruin anything, I promise,” he says, and his voice is lower, huskier, and Asha leans into him, instinctively parting her lips.
Cullen smiles at that and tilts her head back before bending down to press his lips to hers. It’s just a light kiss, really a tease, but Asha arches up onto her toes to press herself even closer.
His hand moves from her jaw to the back of her head, fingers tangling in her hair, and he moves his other hand to her waist to hold her steady. She clutches at his shirt, wrinkling the dark fabric, and she sighs when he finally lets her go.
“Cullen?” she whispers, and he shivers when he hears his name, his real name, finally pass her lips. “Let’s go back to my apartment now.”
His eyes blink open then and they bore into hers. His lips twist into a smirk and he squeezes her closer for a moment before letting her go. “As you wish.”

Unpredictable Part 1
A/N: Hi guys! I’m finally posting the first part! I hope you’ll like it! To be honest I’m really excited about this series ahah. Btw this part is quite long because i needed to settle the story for some reason so don’t worry if you only see mgk appears towards the end. He will definitely be a lot more present in the next parts 😉
Tumblr media
“You can put your pen down. It’s over.” Your teacher told you. You did what you were told and gave a finally look at your paper before handing it. You were done with exams and school, at least for that year. You would get the result in a month and so you would know if you would be able to do your third year in university. You were still surprised how far you had come but you were quite happy about it. You walked outside of the building when you saw your group of friends waiting for you. “So how did it go?” asked one of your best friends, Lara. Lara and you applied to be in the same university in San Francisco and you were more than surprised when you both got the news that you were accepted there. “I think I did okay. What about you guys?” “I think I messed it up.” Replied your other best friend, Chris, that you have met during your first year. “Ohhhh come one! You always say that and end up getting the best grade.” Said your other friend Luke. It is funny to say that you all came from Ohio but only met in a different state. “I think we all deserve a reward. What about an ice-cream by the lake?” You suggested to your friends and they all agreed.
You were all sitting by the lake, enjoying your first moment of summer when Lara started to talk about what activities you could all do when it hit you. The 4th of July was coming, and your parents were organizing a party and told you that you could invite some of your friends. With exams and all, you completely forgot about it even though it would be the next week. “Guys! My parents are throwing a party for the 4th and since it happens to be a Saturday it will be during the whole weekend. You guys can come if you want to.” “I’m definitely down!” Shouted Lara, obviously very excited about it. “Yes!! How about you guys?” You asked them and you could see Chris was disappointed. “I’m so sorry but my parents have planned this family trip and I have to go.” You could tell he felt bad for not coming but you totally understood. “I can’t either Y/N. I’m sorry.” “It’s okay guys don’t worry. We will still have the time to see each other though.” You replied and you all spent the rest of the afternoon laughing and enjoying ourselves.
It was around 7p.m when you came back to your dorm. Since it was officially summer break. You had to pack all your stuff. You already had started since the beginning of the week, so you just had to put the remain books and clothes in your suitcases. As you were packing your books, the door opened and it was Autumn, your roommate. You were with her since your first year and to be honest you could not have asked for a better roommate. You would miss her during summer. She was standing by the door with a sad facial expression. “I hate goodbyes.” She told you and gave you a warm hug. “You know it’s only for a few months, right?” “I know but still.” She answered you, still hugging you. Even though you knew you would see each other in two months, the fact of not seeing her during all this time was making you sad. She became a good friend and you were so glad that she came into your life. She would be back in her hometown in Arizona while you would be back in yours in Ohio.  She eventually let go and looked at you in the eyes. “Try not to forget me okay?” She told you in an amused way, but you knew deep down that she really meant it. “Forget you? How can I?” You replied and you both laughed. “I better get some sleep; my flight is at 7a.m tomorrow.” You told Autumn before checking the clock. “Oh right! I was just passing by to say goodbye, mine is in 3 hours. Have a safe flight Y/N.” She told you and hugged you again. “Thanks, you too.” You replied and then she was gone. You changed into your pajamas, brushed your teeth before laying on the bed and eventually fell asleep.
The alarm went off at 4a.m and all you could say was that it was too early. Your eyes felt heavy and it was hard to keep them opened. Even though you only wanted to go back to sleep, you had to get prepared to catch your flight. You took a quick shower, got dressed in very comfy clothes and put your hair into a bun. You did not bother to do your makeup because once again, it was too early for that. You got back in your room to take your suitcases. You gave a final look at the room, in case you would have forgotten something. You called an uber and soon you were on your way to the airport. When you arrived there, you grabbed something to eat and you waited for what felt like ages. When you heard throughout the speakers that you could abroad, you made your way to the door written on your ticket and then you were on your way to Ohio.
It was 10 a.m. when the plane landed. You waited to get your suitcases back and then you were looking for your parents. You spotted them with a little paper with your name written on it and you could feel a smile growing on your face. You hugged each other and you could have sworn you saw a tear in your dad’s eye. “We missed you so much!” Your dad told you with a huge smile. “We did! Look at you! You look great Y/N!” “And tan.” Your dad added to your mother’s sentence and you chuckled. “California’s sun is something else.” You chuckled again. “and I missed you too.” You said and soon you were on your way to the house. You missed Columbus. San Francisco was amazing, but you missed being home.
When you opened the front door, you were gathered by your dog Buck when you heard your big sister, Jo yelled your name. “Y/N! Oh my god it has been a while!” “Jo! I missed you so much!” You ran at her and hugged her. Jo and you were very close. Of course, you would argue sometimes over sister stuffs, but you could not stay mad at each other for too long. She graduated two years ago, and she was working in a fancy enterprise. “We have so much catch up to do!” “Yes, we do.” You laughed and hugged her again. It felt good to be back home.
It was Friday which meant that the 4th of July party would start tomorrow so you would not be able to rest that much. Your mother explained to you what you had to do today, and you could not see how you could do all she said in one day but well you did not have a choice. Jo would help your mother by cleaning the house, preparing the rooms and all while you would go do the groceries with your dad. When you all knew what to do, your dad and you did not lose any more time and you were on your way to the grocery store since it was already 11:30 a.m. You got all the food you needed which meant meat, fruits, pasta, French fries, chips and drinks which were sodas and alcohol. You also got everything that was needed for the barbecue and some fireworks and with all of that done you stopped by to get something to eat. You ate outside of the Macdonald’s and you chatted a little bit. You missed having time with your dad. “I am glad you will spend summer with us. It was weird when your sister left but when you also did, the house felt empty. Having you girls for the 4th is very great.” Your dad told you as you took a sip of your drink. “Aw dad, even though we are far from you, nothing will ever change. It’s good to be back home.” You replied and gave him a smile. There was a moment of silence before your dad spoke again. “So, did you find any boy in California?” He asked you and you almost chocked on your French fries. You would not talk about those things with your parents, especially your dad. Not because you did not want to but because you were quite shy about it. You would more share those kinds of things with your sister. “Oh, um nope. I’m not interested actually.” You simply replied. It was half true though. Your ex-boyfriend was great well you thought he was but towards the end of your relationship, he became weird, distant and he eventually cheated on you. But even with what he did to you, seeing Lara with her boyfriend kind of made you want to feel loved again. But it was not your priorities. You quickly changed the subject to avoid any more embarrassment. “Oh god, it’s already 2 p.m. We better go.” “Oh, you’re right. You don’t want your mom to kill us.” You laughed and you were on your way back home.
The rest of the day went by quicker than you expected. Jo and you spent the evening together, but she left to spend the night with her boyfriend Mike. He was a good guy, you liked him. You were exhausted so you decided to go to sleep.
Your alarm went off at 9 a.m. You didn’t have to lose any time since the first guests would be there at 11:30a.m. You jumped in the shower and got dressed. Since it would be a hot day, you decided to wear a short and a cute tank top. You were doing your makeup when you heard the doorbell rang and your mom said, “she’s upstairs”. You knew it was Lara. “In the bathroom.” You let her know when she was upstairs, and she got in. “Hey! Dang! You look cute!” she told you, and you gave her a weird look. “I have done half my makeup.” You chuckled and kept doing your eyeliner. “Still!” “Well thank you. You’re not bad yourself.” “I know.” She replied and you both laughed.
It was 11:30a.m and the first guests were arriving. Lara was with your dad outside, your mom gathering the guests and you were bringing the food outside. You were coming in the kitchen when you saw a group of people coming and you spotted Jo. You assumed it was her friends. Yes, she had a lot of friends. You took the plate of meat from the fridge and you were making your way to the garden to give it to your dad when a tall figure kept your attention. You had never seen him before. You knew all Jo’s friends but not him. He was thin, blond haired and his arms were covered by tattoos. You couldn’t stop starring at him. You were brought back to reality when you heard your dad call after you and that was when you realized you were standing there starring at him with the plate in your hands. Your dad calling you caused your sister and her friends, including him, to look at you and you panicked and went outside quickly.
