Viva la Resistance! (Closed)
@heartheaded
It was in a old small tavern. Though busy with traveling groups looking for a quick drink and a place to sit their asses, many kept away from the aura placed by the literal half demon. It wasn’t the first place she wanted to be either, but she needed a place to stay and the old couple owning the place needed an extra set of hands to help with the upkeep. And tonight, she just wanted a drink. Though she didn’t drink often (and the taste of ale was not her favorite) she found news of her hometown that left her in a bitter mood.
‘Lord John PussyPaws, is receiving a statue in his honor of his great work of keeping his land safe from invading barbarians. The statue shall be placed in the town of Wolfpine by the fortnight.’ Read the paper she found at the center of the village she was in now torn off and resting bellow her on the table.
“That arrogant pompous son of a bitch thinks he can mark his territory on my home and get away with it!” She yelled to herself, crumbling the paper in her hands and in an instant the paper caught fire and turned to ash. Any patron who thought of sitting near her then quickly moved away.
At this, the Tiefling let out a sigh in an attempt to calm herself before chugging down the rest of her bitter drink in an attempt to ease her stress. Aside from making her head a little loopy, it didn’t change much.

Perhaps the ale was working after all as soon enough she found a gnome sliding up to her on the table. Part of her wanted to tell the guy to piss off if he wasn’t, but she wasn’t brought up like that as much as her paternal side would’ve liked it. Besides, more then anything, she could use some company. Since everyone else seemed too chicken to.
Her fiery anger slowly died down as she tried to work on the right words to say to the stranger/hallucination. He looked like he didn’t mean any harm at best. And if he did try anything, a quick death glare ought to end it.
“Look, I don’t really have any coin on hand to hire anyone at the moment.” She said with a shrug before resting her cheek on a hand. “And if I did I want to take this bastard down myself. A selfish lord who took the only home kind enough to take in someone like me now has the balls to build a stature in that town. No doubt with all the money he steals from the poor.” She muttered the last sentence as she looked at her mug to see if there was anymore ale to chug. Sadly no. Perhaps her hallucination would stick around after her little drunkenness wore off.
“I’m Daenerys by the way.” She then said. Not the greatest at introductions. But then again she didn’t really have a long friendliest. “But if it’s too long for you just Dany is fine with me.”
Another day, another wonderful opportunity for travel across the expansive and beautiful landscape of Exandria. One can see it easier from a bird's eye view, which Scanlan so happened to attain. Sweet Sally, he called the airship, his beautiful mechanical and wooden structure imposed upon him by the Council for his good deeds.
He didn't end up wanting the money, after all, just something to travel the world in and complete his modest goal of laying one soul in every village, city, and hamlet in the land. No big deal. He was also given a manual 'cause, well, even if he could find a specialist... this was instead of the gold everyone else got. He had to learn how to take care of the damn thing before he even flew her, and in that time before he began his travels, he fell in love with her.
Everyone else had a honey or a path to follow, and Scanlan had Sally. He survived off of his performances when it came to food or company, and even picked up a quest or two when he felt like it. Just because everyone else settled down didn't mean Scanlan couldn't keep going. He dies sooner than the rest of them and he doesn't plan to waste a second of it, as dark as that is.
Today's city has been found, one he doesn't bother to know the name of, a tavern he won't even memorize. He starts the mantra of beginning his round of drinks before he wants to plan a performance to fish some honey, but instead Scanlan encounters some spice.
It's not unusual for someone to get uppity in these places, but that's usually because of a dude brawl or a stifled bet or whatever. No, this girl is fired up about something interesting. Something that catches Scanlan's attention since the past couple drops have been dry on anything greater than a goblin slaughtering.
𝄇𝄋𝄋𝄆 < ❝Whoa, whoa, whoa there Red--you got some kind of grievance on a guy? Are we looking to tumble? I'm Scanlan, beautiful and extravagant traveling bard for hire... and trust me when I say I'm an ass-kicker. If this guy has political holds, does he have gold?❞ The gnome doesn't mind his business as he slides next to the fiery horned lady, lying himself on the counter with an arm propping up that lively smile.

Modern verse(s):
(I want to add these to a separate page but I don’t have any WiFi for my laptop to connect to. For now I’m making a separate post for me to copy/paste later)
Dany: Though her backstory isn’t as severe, she was still seen as a bad omen by her birth mother and was left to die in a field. She was picked up by her adoptive father, a farmer.
When she was old enough, Dany would help with the animals and harvests. Life was good. Till the day some men showed up. Offering big bucks for the land her father owned. They intended to turn it into a profitable complex. He refused. And thus the conflict between the two began.
With every passing day that the men came, Dany’s temper grew to a point she would throw eggs at their car for just pulling in.
Though she tries to plead her case to other members of the community, many are deterred by her hot temper and go away.
Ayana: Pretty much the same as her currant universe. Just traveling out of her home village to see the world.
Shmendrick: A traveling musician born from a circus, Shmen lives a nomadic lifestyle. Making his pay from playing on the streets or any place that’ll let him. When he isn’t playing, he’s out and about. Exploring where he currently is or on a date with someone he met.
Ryoku: Was once from a wealthy family but after her father lost it all and placed the blame on her, Ryoku now just spends her time laying low and working odd jobs. Can never get one to stick since as soon as she gets the hang of things, people recognize her and not wanting to get involved in conflict, she quits.
She currently lives with a roomate (potential plot point)
Star: Similar to her currant one. However her home isn’t a nomadic hunting tribe rather a village of people from a far off land.
She currently plays for cash and does some extra vigilantism on the side to provide for those less fortunate than her. Big cities come with big injustices after all.
Niniri: In the modern day, the Fae realm is seen as a mix of Wonderland and Amsterdam. But without proper guide, can become a deadly trip.
Despite wanting to travel outside her realm, until her studies are done and she has enough money to do so, Niniri acts as a tour guide for those wishing to seek a grander adventure. It’s far from the life she wanted, but how else will she save?

Idk here’s my characters if they had a vision From Genshin Impact:
Dany: Pyro. Sure she’s not passionate for much these days but she’s a demon after all
Ayana: Dendro. Another obvious choice but given her interest for the outside world and wanting to expand her knowledge, I can see her welding it.
Ryoku: Electro. Shunned by her family and lost her only family to a revolt, I see it as an appropriate choice. Even if as a gold dragonborn she wields fire.
Shmendrick: Anemo. A bard is a drifter by heart that loves freedom. So does Shmen.
Star: Pyro. This kitty comes bearing passion. A passion for life, love, and music.
Niniri: Dendro. Same reasons for Ayana. Added bonus that they both be druids lol.
Althea: Cyro. With her unknown past and all she has for comfort is a god who’s been distant since her childhood, I think it fits with her internal conflict with herself.

🌹 Muse A sneaks out onto the porch to away from people at a house party - only to find Muse B already there, having done the same thing. - for Dany from Pike
Meet Cute Starters / Memes
Dany wasn’t sure what this party was about or who it was for. But she needed the free food and tossing a couple spells to trick the guards was easy enough.
Upon getting her fill, she decided she was just about done with all this noise that came with parties and decided to step out. Not that anyone was looking to talk to a half demon like herself anyway.
The air was brisk. Could be a chance of snow. But the fire in her veins kept any attempts made from nature to push her back inside. Besides. The night life with its lights and stars were pretty. Why would she leave this view for some dumb ol’ chill?
Though despite the chill, it would seem Dany was not the only one who wanted some time away from the senseless noise as she could detect a sound of footsteps coming up towards her general direction.
Despite her efforts to keep to herself and not get kicked out/arrested, her natural curiosity wanted to know who this person was. They were brave enough to approach her after all (as she had heard so many times before).
Tumblr media
“Pretty loud in there isn’t it?” She asked before looking in the direction of the footsteps.

The Tiefling gave the gnome a questioning look.
"Firstly. Those "lesser folk" are the closest thing I have to a family and I ask that you treat them with a little more respect." A heat began to radiate from her body. One that could burn if any other slip-ups occurred.
"Secondly, unless you want your main mode of transportation to be shot down by his army, stealth will be our only chance." But a brief thought shot through her. It might've been some of the patrons of the bar walking out and exclaiming how crazy it was to see The Scanlan preform at their tavern. But it could be worth a shot.
"Unless..." She trailed off. "If you haven't gone through there during that bastards reign, then he likely would've only heard of your skills but had yet to see it so would want to have a show done in his stuck up honor." She mumbled mostly to herself but was also laying it out as a foundation.
"If you came down not only offering to do a show honor this achievement he's got coming up, ut also came to turn me in for the reward money. I could bust out later and while you're distracting him with your music, I come out and immobilize him." She explained, her heat dying down and a hopeful smile taking its place. This would be the first time she had someone popular on her side and from what she saw it was a clear shot. Though her acting may need a brush up.
Well that was one way to make a performance. A bit more purple smoke then she had expected, but heck, that’s a bard for you.
Though it wasn’t the performance she was looking for, it was the patrons she was after. One by one, she noticed their recognition as he recalled his grand stories. Dragons? Vampires? Well, this certainly wasn’t no ordinary bard. Though the question came to her ‘Why would he depart from this grand group?’
Eventually, she stood up and leaned up against the table. Waiting for her preforming new sidekick to finish his song. Though for a brief moment, she caught her tail swish to the beat of the tune, to which she abruptly stopped herself and watched on.
Soon as the song had finished and the fans were quenched, Dany gave a little smirk. “A bit more flare then I expected, but I can see that the folk know you well enough. I’ll admit, the tale about the dragons were certainly interesting. But anyways, a deals a deal. I’ll let you tag along.” She chuckled lightly to herself. “But you’ll have to keep that flare of yours to a minimum.” And with that, her smirk died down just a bit and motioned her head to the door. Indicating that they should change locations for the conversation to continue.
Stepping outside of the tavern, the half-demon let her wings stretch out a bit as she made her way to a nearby willow. Who’s long reaching branches acted as a long natural curtain. Once in its shade, Daenerys set down her traveling pack and sat beside it before digging into it. Eventually pulling out a folded map and a pen and unfolding the map to show.
“We are here.” She said, making a mark with her pen. “The town is about a weeks journey staying the road.” She marked the path. “But the woods can be used as a short cut. But, um...” she hesitated while marking the path. There was a black scribble where something should be that took her attention for a moment. “It’s got more risk.” She quickly resumed after a shake of her head.
“Either way. The end goal is to approach the town as inconspicuously as possible. I’ve got a few spells under my wing to help us but after that, we’ll have to be careful.” She explained.

Though his motives for helping her were both humorous and genuine. A part of her couldn’t help but wonder if this all wasn’t part of PussyPaws plot to capture her. She was after all wanted for her good doing. She wouldn’t be surprised if he had offered a reward for her capture.
“Well I have to say your offer is tempting. But you gotta understand I’m wanted in my home town for trying to handle it solo. So how do I know if you’re not just some goon looking to bring be back only to turn me in for some quick coin?” She asked. At this point, the assumption of him being a hallucination had begun to pass. She had even found herself interested in the story where he soloed a fortress. However, she had to keep her guard up. Just incase.
Noticing from the corner of her eyes the lute he had on hand, an idea came to mind. “I assume you’re a bard of some sort then? No doubt you must’ve made a name for yourself. If someone in this tavern can recognize you from your stories I’ll believe you. They’re all too pussy to come near me much less try to turn me in so for now they have a small amount of my trust.” She said gesturing to the other patrons who at that point gave the two ample space if only to stay away from the fiery half-demon.
