what brushes do you use to drawww, btw your art is so cool i am actively consuming

I use the Procreate app to draw, so I mostly use the base brushes it comes with, aside from a few extras I've downloaded. I've switched around a lot, and I'm still learning and experimenting, so it depends, but here are the ones I've been using most recently:

The main one I've been using for lineart is the Studio Pen, 'cause I like how variable the line width can be. That's the one I used for these:

These are all pretty much just made with that brush, actually. In that last one I believe I used a different brush for smudging the light layer a bit at the edges, but I'm pretty sure it was just the regular Procreate watercolor paint brush I use. Speaking of the watercolor brush, that's the one I used for these:

In the first one, I did the main color blocks and lineart with the studio pen, then did layers over the top with the watercolor brush to add more color variation and light. In the second picture I was using the procreate watercolor paint brush for the colors, and a brush I downloaded called "Trisketched Ink Brush Rough" for the lines. I like to use that latter brush for looser, sketchy stuff. (It's the one I used for all the Dazai Knitting AU comics!) Ah, and speaking of sketches, I also use the Procreate 6B Pencil whenever I just want to scribble something out, because it's very light and wobbly so I don't worry about neatness when I'm using it.

I use it for initial comic page layout, like this!

Although, I also sometimes use the Studio Pen for that, depending on how I'm feeling. You can see the red underlayer I was drawing the lineart over in this WIP, for example, and I just decided I wanted to use the studio pen for both the undersketch and the lineart.

Of course, there's other brushes that I've used as well, but these have been my main ones lately. :D If there's anything I've drawn in particular that you'd like more of an explanation of, I'd be happy to go over what I did!

Hello!! Oh wow I'm a big fan of your fics, this literally made my day. Also, get ready for a rant because I have MANY thoughts hehe.

First off, I love your analysis, it's pretty much exactly what I had in mind when making this piece! Thank you so much, I appreciate it :D

This is definitely one of my favorite scenes in 3rd Life for many reasons! I mean, they basically created the drama for us...fighting in the middle of a lake, Grian about to kill without hesitation, then stopping, then suddenly doubting himself when he hears the spectators. Like?? You can script this stuff, but it will be nowhere near as impressive as what they just did with improv. I watched it and went, I need to DRAWWW

As for the piece itself, what I really wanted was an oppressive atmosphere. That's why the ripples are circling them, and why the colors are so vibrant. It's sort of from Grian's POV, so everything is going wrong, red lake, red blood, red sky.

And yeeeaah he's looking directly at those ghosts! Scar's trying to talk him down, almost like calming a cornered animal. I love the idea that Scar can't hear them, but I equally love the concept of him hearing them but just barely blocking them out. You're right, I don't think he's very concerned in this. I'd like to imagine that to him, the lake is clear and the sky is blue, he doesn't know why his friend is acting like this when the fight is already over.

I'll be honest, I had mixed feelings about this drawing for a long time because I was so dissatisfied with the water/ripples. And well, they aren't the cleanest things in the world, but it was a learning experience and I'm glad I tried to tackle them :)

Anyways, I'm sorry that was long, I just have repressed feelings about desert duo and they are NOT leaving my brain anytime soon...So for now I will stew in angsty ideas about them.

“Take a joyride On the flipside Of the void! Little toy!” I always wanted to draw a little thing with Henry and this song, because it’s a favorite of mine and really is what I structured his “endgame” after. A bit fucked, but not outright... bad? It’s not sad, but perhaps it’s malicious in tone? His signal’s getting weaker... But despite finally coming around to the “glitch in the glitch” visual, which I feel fits Henry and his relationship to his own emotions and other people well, I don’t feel like this drawing is really... HENRY, if you get what I mean. That’s why he’s in this doodle dump, I don’t feel like it’s worth to stand on its own. Maybe one day I’ll figure out how to do it “right” and get this Glitch in the Glitch visual correctly. But for now? This is what it is. - How to talk to short people:
