i do not like the lake territory so i decided a long while ago to make up my own territory for the cats to go to, the catch is that i’m bad at designing maps and i’ve been struggling for basically a year to come up with something really good. i’ve got a few fun landmarks i want to add (like an abandonned castle and stuff), but the main layout is what challenges me the most

Hidden part 4
Summary: Nightcloud is sick of feeling ignored. Breezekit was supposed to bring she and Crowfeather closer together but the deputy's son takes every chance to avoid his mate. When Breezekit uncovers trouble in WindClan, Crowfeather must decide whether he can let go of his past in favor of his future.
Trigger warning: Breezekit finds out about an abusive relationship. He might describe what he saw on the cat he was worried about.
“Squirrelflight, thank StarClan!” A large, dark brown tabby practically barrelled into the group, and Breezekit skittered under his mother with a distressed wail.
“Shhh, little wind, that cat's not going to hurt you, he's just scared because he didn't know where Squirrelflight was. He was worried, that's it. There's nothing to be afraid of.” Nightcloud murmured, stroking her kit’s head with her paw in a soothing motion. Breezekit let it go on for a few heartbeats before he shook himself out, eyes wary.
“But that's what Owl said!” He snapped. “And then Leaf came back with scratches from their next walk. I know because she passed the nursery when she was going and I couldn't sleep so I went to go see what she was doing… I've never seen anyone that scared before, Mama. She thought she would get hurt before she knew it was me. And then I asked Owl if she was okay and he lied!” Breezekit spat.
“What?!” Several cats blurted out, horrified.
“Oh StarClan… Breezekit, did Owl ever approach you after that?”
“He didn't get the chance!” Breezekit crowed bravely. “Leaf scooped me up before he could. All that was yesterday. I don't know where Leaf is now though… can we go find her? She looked scared when we left.”
“Amberleaf took you out of camp?!” Nightcloud hissed, fighting to keep her fur smooth.
“No, Mama, it was my idea! You said I could never let anyone hurt me, remember? Leaf was getting hurt.”
“But Owlwhisker… that doesn't make any sense!”
“Those things often don't.” The brown tabby scoffed before flattening himself to the ground and addressing Breezekit.
“My name is Brambleclaw, and if you tell me what happened when you and Leaf left your camp, I might be able to find her for you.”
“Really?” Breezekit gasped. “I would like that! But… I don't know where she is. We were walking and we reached the Moonstream and I fell in and then Flight was there.”
“Okay, do you think she might still be by the Moonstream?”
“She wasn't when I got there.” Nightcloud confirmed. “I didn't even scent her. I didn't even know any of this had happened!” Nightcloud’s breathing quickened and she lowered herself to the ground.
“I am the worst mother ever.” She whimpered.
“You found your kit when no one else did.” Squirrelflight insisted. “You did. Yours was the only voice I heard looking for Breezekit when you should have an entire Clan at your back-.” Squirrelflight broke off, furious, and licked her chest fur for a few heartbeats.
“You did the best you could, Nightcloud.” She assured the black queen firmly. “You just did it alone. That makes a difference.”
“Okay, I've heard enough.” A new voice growled. Breezekit yelped and dove for his mother's paws. Nightcloud straightened up in an instant, her previous regret turned cold and she unsheathed her claws as she ushered her son behind her. The ginger tom backtracked immediately.
“I'm sorry, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm upset with what you just described, not with you being here. Brambleclaw, set up a patrol to search around the WindClan border for an injured molly.” He ordered before turning back to Nightcloud.
“What does… Amberleaf, was it? What does she look like?”
“Ginger and white patches with amber eyes. She might not approach you if you send too many cats. I don't know much about that sort of thing but if it were me, I'd get as far away from WindClan as possible. You might be able to track her to the Horseplace or beyond. I'd go with you, but I need to stay with Breezekit.”
“That's understandable. Will she respond to her name or is it better to call her Leaf?”
“I… I'm not really sure. You could say that Breezekit sent you to make sure she's okay.”
Nightcloud was perplexed by how quickly everything was moving.
“That sounds like a good idea.” Brambleclaw mused, tilting his head sideways before turning around and calling for some cats.
“Cloudtail, Sandstorm, you're our best trackers. Can you help me find Amberleaf?”
“Certainly.” Both cats dipped their heads but Sandstorm was the one who spoke.
“We'll find her. I'd like to take Brightheart with me, if that's alright with you.”
“Yes, that's fine.”
“Daisy might be able to help.” Brightheart called from where she sat by the Highledge. “She knows the Horseplace still. And she wants to come.”
“The more the merrier. Like Nightcloud said, this patrol probably shouldn't be too big, so two more cats and we're off.”
“I might be able to pick up her scent if we go back. Especially if I can put a name to the face.” Squirrelflight volunteered.
“You should take Nightcloud and Breezekit to go see Mothwing, and maybe get them settled into the nursery.” Brambleclaw offered gently. “You just got back to camp, Squirrelflight. I can't lose you to this.”
She looked ready to object, but nodded and flicked her tail.
“We're going to see the medicine cat.” She informed the WindClan cats. “Mothwing will make sure Breezekit and I don't get chilled from the water. I don't think we've been standing around long enough to be that bad.” She murmured reassuringly upon seeing Nightcloud's stricken face.
“Lead the way.” The WindClan queen sighed.
