Heya! I (the mod) added Grimnir. Grimnir is a chuunibyou. There are other chuunis who are known to have powers (such as the one he is up against). They're still considered chuunis precicely because of them playing up their powers even more. I would never call him a fake (He is my baby and I will support whatever fantasies he has about him being cool) I am calling him desperate for attention. Defense under the cut because its a bit long

The essence of chuunibyou (in media, since unfortunately gods of war aren't real and thus that messes with the definition a bit) is putting up a big persona to seem cool or mature, thus why its associated with 8th grade -- That's when kids really want to seem mature without knowing how to go about it. Many may think chuuni means "Acting like you have cool magic powers when you don't" but that just happens to be the most common depiction of them. Delinquent and Subcultural chuuni are unrelated to magic powers at all, instead claiming superiority via Cool Gang Experience or Latching Onto What They Think Is Cool Without Understanding It respecitively.

Even if we were not to classify him as an Evil Eye chuunibyou, his overuse of flowery language that he does not understand and pretends to (e.g. him not being able to spell Nietzsche and Dostoevsky right, the novel the boy gave him going over his head and him only understanding that it sounded cool) could categorize him as a Subcultural type.

I would categorize him as an evil eye type (or at least a parody) as we have no proof of his arm being cursed as he claims -- a common hallmark of chuunibyou in media, so he's likely playing this up to seem dramatic.
