OH HELL YEA...HELLO
🐦 if you were a character in feral, what species would you be (if you say spark, which form would you take?)
oh man i would definitely hope to be a spark because. well. i am a furry. and also shapeshifting is epic. i think id take the form of a senri to be honest!! theyre my favorite avatar in game rn and i love them a lot. the only downside is that i would presumably not have opposable thumbs
🏅 what level are you in game currently?
im level 85! and almost done with it too. ive been playing a LOT of minigames
🌍 favorite lore theories?
i love the ones speculating around what happened to the blood tundra, and more recently, the ordeal with the queens on instagram. my favorite theory so far is that lakeroot and bt were connected before something happened to curse the land, and sometimes people (kobolds) get randomly transported there and turned into the baby kobolds without memories. its all but confirmed at this point but its rly epic :)
🎮 favorite activities to do in game (roleplaying, minigames, trading, etc)
personally i really like to roleplay but like... alone. this probably seems super lame and weird but i like doing quests and pretending im one of my feral ocs and collecting shit and stuff. a lot of stuff with other people stresses me out like trading so unfortunately i dont do that often
🐍 what avatars would you like to see added?
OH I WAS HOPING FOR THIS QUESTION. personally i would LOVE to see underwater avatars that kind of like.. float in the air or are encased in a bubble or smth. personally i really really want to see a hippocampus avatar (imagine a vaguely scaly and dragonlike horse with its back half being a long mermaid tail). either that or a sphynx. and it HAS to have bird wings and the option for nonhuman heads. like falcon heads and such (yes i read monsterology as a kid i srill have the book)
#windows plays fer.al#asks#jammingwithpigeon#also fun fact i have dragonology monsterology and wizardology and i cherish them deeply#i think ww should just take every monster in those books and make them an avatar

WW - S06 E04 Weekend At Bobby's 😘
(Weird Wednesdays are brought to by bastardizing the wiki)
One year ago and shortly after trapping Lucifer and Michael in Lucifer's Cage, Bobby summons Crowley and demands the return of his soul. Crowley refuses and smugly quotes his contract, which states that he only has to "make best efforts" to give Bobby his soul back. He agrees to give Bobby ten years of life, but that is all. Bobby then reveals he has trapped Crowley in a devil's trap made with black light paint, but Crowley threatens him with his hellhound until Bobby releases him.
Bobby’s junkyard dog, Rumsfeld, who everyone forgot about, perks up at the sound of a new friend and Crowley relents and summons Juliet for a playdate. The dogs run the perimeter of the salvage yard and the owner’s discuss training and stories of when they were pups. Bobby brings out some glasses and Crowley falls for the holy water in his scotch. Eventually, they laugh it off.
In the present day, Sam and Dean are in Wisconsin (namely Kenosha, where my husband was born) on the trail of a monster that cracks open the bodies of its victims. It leaves a large black claw in the chest cavity of the latest victim, and they call Bobby for help. Even though Bobby says that he's busy. And Sam always has wifi. Bobby steps up and spends hours researching, going so far as to break into a University library to find a book that he needs. I mean, they’re his kids, who else would he go to jail for?
And we wonder why he was the one with all the drunk and disorderlies...
It's early morning the next day when he calls Dean to tell him that they're hunting a lamia. Usually only in Greece, a lamia "juices hearts and chugs the blood." Which Sam quickly jots down, because that could be the next step in his smoothie fixation. Bobby tells them it can be killed by a silver knife blessed by a priest. What kind of priest? Who knows, who cares. Probably an acolyte of Apollo or some shit. But, they can do their own research now, moochers.
After he's off the phone, Bobby goes down to his basement, where he has a crossroads demon tied up and caught in a devil's trap. He wants to know Crowley's true name - the name he had as a human before he died and became a demon in Hell - so he tortures the demon by using a blowtorch to singe its bones. Finally, she admits that Crowley, who is now the King of Hell, was a Scottish man named Fergus MacLeod in life. The other demons call him "Lucky the Leprechaun" behind his back.
Which just goes to prove that demons are stupid and unofficially most Scots and Irish end up in heaven, because there is no way it was that funny of a joke.
Once Bobby has the information he needs, he burns the demon's bones, killing it and its host. And no one is really surprised, we are only allowed to worry about vessels when it’s a recurring character.
After killing the demon, Bobby answers phones and backs up other hunters posing as various law enforcement officials until Rufus knocks on his door. Rufus has the police on his tail and needs Bobby's help burying the body of a Snorlax, a monster usually only seen in Japan. They bury the body on Bobby's property and Rufus leaves just before Sheriff Jody Mills shows up with an FBI agent, Agent Adams. Agent Adams is looking for Rufus.
And as exhausting as this episode is, it just shows what Bobby Singer’s life really is like. It wasn’t a single week of annoyance, it was always like that. He’s a goddamn saint in a cantankerous facade. Bobby is a fucking hero.
Dean calls while the FBI agent is there and asks for help killing the lamia because they couldn't kill it with a silver knife blessed by a priest. Bobby tells him to find salt and rosemary and "blend the herbs, saute over a high heat, and cook well," and hangs up when Dean finishes his audition for Cutthroat Kitchen and flambes the lamia. Agent Adams is persistent, and Sheriff Jody Mills tries to distract him, but Adams finds the spot where the Snorlax was buried. Fortunately, there is no longer any evidence of a crime because the damn thing is gone. Unfortunately, Rufus didn't stab it enough times to kill it, and it has been feeding on single white gamers while they sleep.
Rufus and Bobby deserved a fucking spin off for this episode alone. Jesus these two were perfect.
While Bobby was interrogating the crossroads demon, Marcy Ward rang his doorbell with a homemade peach cobbler. She has been his neighbor for six months now, and seems to be interested in him romantically, asking him over for dinner and a movie and then, when he seemed hesitant, asking him to come over and take a look at her wood chipper, which has broken down. When he learns that the Snorlax might be after her, he breaks down her door with a shotgun, scaring her, but drawing out the Snorlax, which had been waiting in her bedroom to kill her. Her playstation still paused to the final boss.
When the Snorlax is killed in Marcy's (obviously functioning) wood chipper, she is covered in blood. Bobby still tries to salvage a relationship with her, but she turns him down. He never was as cavalier as he wanted to be and victims are rarely as grateful as they are in fanfic.
Rufus thanks Bobby for helping him with the pokemon, and tells him what his contacts in Scotland have learned about Fergus MacLeod, aka Crowley. Crowley had a son named Gavin MacLeod, whose signet ring is now on display in a maritime museum in Andover, Massachusetts. Rufus is already there willing to steal the ring for Bobby. Because, that’s what friends do. And no matter how annoying or argumentative they are, both of those ornery bastards listen when the other is talking or dealing with their own problems.
Dean calls to talk about Sam and how he's changed in the past year, Dean can’t stand his new manscaping regimen especially, but when Bobby puts Dean on hold to talk to Rufus (who is fleeing law enforcement after stealing the ring), Dean accuses him of being selfish.
I have seen people go off on Bobby for this rant and I just want you all to know, FUCK OFF. Bobby had every right to say what he did in this episode. We all knew Sam was “WRONG”, Dean should have picked a different way to unload on Bobby about it.
Bobby asks for Sam and he yells at the brothers over speakerphone, calling them "whiny, self-absorbed, sons-of-bitches" that he does everything for without a word of thanks. He reminds them Crowley still has his soul and tells them to "sack up" and help him for once. Sam says all Bobby had to do was ask. While Dean pouts in the corner because he didn’t want to talk TO SAM about SAM. He wanted to gossip.
As a favor to Bobby, Sheriff Mills extradites Rufus and allows him to "escape custody" so that Rufus can deliver the signet ring to Bobby. You just gonna gloss over how he got it to South Dakota safely? Really? That level of dedication is just overlooked these days.
Bobby uses the ring to summon Gavin's ghost, and they "have a chat." He then summons Crowley, who arrives and discovers he is trapped in another devil's trap. Which, why isn’t he always at this point? Summon him constantly gents, it’s like a round of musical Crowley. No? Too much? Eh, what do you know.
Crowley repeats his position that he won't give Bobby his soul, but Bobby counters by revealing his son Gavin's ghost. Fergus, aka Crowley, and Gavin hated each other so Gavin is useless as a bargaining chip, but he gave Bobby all the information he wanted about Crowley, including where his bowling shoes were buried. Which I don’t think Gavin would have known, but that’s just more confusing shit for a later episode where we time travel to find the real Gavin and not just a bitter old spirit.
Bobby hands Crowley the phone so that he can talk to Dean, who tells him that he and Sam are standing over Crowley's comical size sevens in Scotland. Bobby makes Crowley an offer: his beloved shoes in exchange for Bobby's soul, and Crowley agrees. Bobby makes sure that he will still have the use of his legs before releasing him from the devil's trap, with a pat on the ass for good measure.
Crowley appears in Scotland moments later, where Sam and Dean are still standing over his supposed grave. Dean threatens to burn the lucky bowling shoes anyway, but Sam tells him to stand down, saying "a deal's a deal." Crowley picks up his personalized bag and disappears, and Bobby thanks Sam and Dean for flying to Scotland and helping him get his soul back.
Dean was on a plane for 8 hours? Sam must have given him that good shit, because aint no other way that was happening....

Figured that now would be a good time to take a look at how things are going with your favorite gaming company.
No, not them, I mean Onyx Path. Sheesh.
After all, we’re near the end of the year – at least the part before everything gets holiday crazy – and next week we start our They Came From Beneath the Sea! Kickstarter.
So let’s take advantage of the time period and have a little snapshot of where we are. We’ll do more of a “Year That Was” thing in a later blog, I think. (This one is long enough as it is – yeesh!)
2018 was a challenging year, but one where we were able to catch up – finally! – on a lot of projects and start delivering some delayed ones…as well as delivering a bunch of Kickstarter projects earlier than estimated!
If you recall from MMN blogs in the past, I started Onyx Path with a three-part plan for the sorts of projects we would take on, so let me divide my comments based on that.
1- Our Wholly Owned Games:
This category is perhaps our timeliest right now, with both books for Scion 2nd Edition and the Trinity Continuum Core and Aeon all having delivered their KS backer PDFs and in various stages of prepping for their traditional print-runs.
This is very satisfying to be able to say, because as our KS backers know, a large part of the delay in getting these two lines to this point was needing to create a system for them that wouldn’t fall apart at higher power play, and which, frankly, was designed with an eye towards the last couple of decades worth of how games are played.
And while still being a recognizable dice pool system for our fantastic fans of the first editions who kept these games alive all these years!
Just today, our old friend and long-time writer and developer Bruce Baugh posted a long and informative “review” of Storypath on his Facebook page and RPG.net, and I’m taking the liberty of posting some of his thoughts here:
I mean to say, if, on the other hand, you tell players that all active approaches are good – that every one solves some problems well and makes for entertaining drama in trying to solve ones it’s not so great for – the choice moves from “should I risk it?” to “_how_ should I risk it?”, because of course they’re taking the kind of risk and get to decide how. Presuming here that players want to have an adventurous good time, the game’s stepping up to point out the scenic attractions and give them a hand where the footing’s tricky. I love it.
Or take a situation where the character’s pursuing someone, using the Athletics skill. The Forceful character uses Might, running fast, bursting through barriers, maybe throwing things to bring down the pursued, and so on. The Finesse character uses Dexterity, perhaps engaging in impromptu (or prepared!) parkour and acrobatics. The Resilience character uses Stamina, and might look for shortcuts that involve kind of long falls, knowing they’ll be able to take the blow, shake it off, and keep going. Every option is good, every option invites the player and Storyguide to look for opportunities to engage with the setting.
Meanwhile, as those two lines move to printing, we have Scarred Lands, which seems to be living up to its name. After a decent start, we had to go back to square one and reconsider how to publish this classic White Wolf-created D20 game after the death of Stewart Wieck, who was originally my partner in publishing it.
I’m glad to say that we indeed have a plan for how to “reactivate” Scarred Lands and you can look for a Kickstarter for the 5e version of the famous Creature Collection early next year. We’re teaming up with a brand new design studio to bring you a gorgeous and exciting new version of SL‘s classic monster manual as the start of more Scarred Lands greatness.
If you’re looking for a Scarred Lands actual play, Travis Legge runs one on Twitch: They play Mondays from 2-4 PM CST at twitch.tv/plasticageplays and archive episodes on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzVwM7FjhlU&list=PLmiXCaSrrCIjmCJQQ7oLwLNahmDbdn_2J and release it in podcast form via anchor at https://anchor.fm/mythsandmatchmakers
They Came From Beneath the Sea! art by Larry Blamire
And for the fourth of our Onyx-owned projects, the aforementioned They Came From Beneath the Sea! Kickstarter emerges from the waves next week on December 18th. Here’s a link to the teaser trailer, created by film legend Larry Blamire (Thanks, Larry!) and we’ll be revealing an Actual Play vid later this week across our social media:
Matthew and I will go into some more detail on what led up to this most unusual tabletop RPG next week!
We have some possible new game ideas percolating away right now, but I’m not in too much of a hurry to launch a new one right away, there are still great expansions and ideas to explore for the ones we already have!
#2- Creator-owned partner games:
Headed up by Cavaliers of Mars and Realms of Pugmire (which includes Pugmire, Monarchies of Mau, FetchQuest, and the upcoming Pirates of Pugmire).
These are different than a straight-up license, in that the creators are generally deeply involved with the project. Often they do a large percentage of the writing, or bring in teams they run for it. Depending on how we conceptualize the deal, they may have a lot of input on the art or just work on the concepts and let our art and layout folks do the voodoo that they do so well.
Scarred Lands was originally structured far more like this.
So, basically, I look for creative partners that have a very strong vision for the game world, and who I like and want to work with. From there, if the game line exists in the main book and some Stretch Goals, that’s cool. We made the thing and with the magic of the eternal shelf on DTRPG, that’s all it needs to be a success in my thinking.
If the line keeps gathering interest, we’ll try out more projects if the creator is cool with that. That’s the key, we don’t do anything if they aren’t OK with it.
For Cavaliers of Mars, we have just got the books selling into stores, and we’re going to see how things go. If you haven’t heard Rose talk about Cavs on the Onyx Pathcast interview that went live last Friday, it’s a great listen, and she gives advice on how to get started with Cavs as a bonus!
Here is the link to that: https://onyxpathcast.podbean.com/e/episode-29-rose-on-mars/
Roll of Good Dogs and Cats art by Shen Fei
Realms of Pugmire is the umbrella brand for Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau projects, and we still have a wide range of projects that came out of both Kickstarters. Here’s Eddy interviewed at PAX Unplugged by Gamerati: https://twitter.com/gamerati/status/1070095836233646081
I currently have two creators talking to me about teaming up for their projects, and again, I’m pretty good with our current slate here, but if the opportunity suggests itself I am open to adding more.
#3- Licensed games:
Which of course start with our WW-owned World of Darkness, Chronicles of Darkness, and Exalted gamelines, but which also include Dystopia Rising: Evolution, and Legendlore.
No doubt about it, this has been a challenging year with our White Wolf licenses. To give you an idea of the complexity, Matthew’s oversight is primarily “just” the WoD projects, and Dixie covers CofD and Exalted. Eddy covers all the rest, with Matt overseeing a bunch of our fiction projects.
The transition to Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, and getting Mage, Wraith, and Changeling 20th projects to final stages at the same time was a huge effort, but seeing the success of the V5 Chicago By Night Kickstarter has justified it. We felt it to be important for Onyx Path to be able to show what we could do with V5 books, as we had a few pundits insist we could only do “old” Vampire.
Chicago By Night put the stake in that!
We’re moving along really well on Exalted 3rd projects as well, with Dragon-Blooded looking to release its Backer PDF several months before estimate, and Lunars looking good for having its complete text ready for an early 2019 Kickstarter. Meanwhile, there have been monthly PDF releases all year, and smaller EX3 books working their way through the production progress list.
I can’t say enough good things about the entire EX3 creative team, and I’ve just been impressed as hell with co-developers Robert Vance and Eric Minton. They work with their writing teams and with Dixie to maintain their vision for the line while incorporating the creativity of the team.
The Chronicles of Darkness game lines continue to come on line in terms getting their projects finished up in reasonable time frames, and Dixie is still working with the creative teams to emphasize their strengths, and bolster the areas that give them trouble. We’ve had some real movement VtR2, and the Night Horrors books, and then Mage2 is getting back on track as well.
As you can see in the project progress list below, we have some fantastic WW game line projects already rolling into next year, and a bunch of pitches at WW we are waiting to hear back on.
We ran the Dystopia Rising: Evolution Kickstarter this last year, and it was enough to seed several added projects as Stretch Goals to the line. I don’t think we actually reached as many of DR‘s fans as we could have, judging by the comments we’ve received after the KS was done, so it will be interesting to see how sales go once it is in stores.
We picked up this license for a few reasons. First, DR‘s top folk, Michael and Ashley, are extremely smart and creative folks who have innovated a lot in the LARP area, and we like people who can teach us stuff. Second, a new kind of zombie mythos that we, the horror “experts” hadn’t had a chance to play with.
Third: zombies meet Mad Max. Love that woohoo concept. Finally, and really most importantly, it gave us a chance to try the Storypath System in a world that was both grittier and more horrific than baseline Scion or Trinity Continuum. This was really important, and from I’ve heard it works really well for this sort of genre.
For Legendlore, well, apply what I’ve been saying about finding licenses that we can apply our aesthetics to, not visual aesthetics as we’re flexible about those, but design and thematic ones. For now, I’ll leave it at that, as the book has just appeared in the project process queue, and we’ll say a lot more about it next year.
Will we be adding more licenses this year? Well, discussions continue on several properties, so we’ll see. Basically, a license has to be either one that we feel we can create compelling worlds from, even if it is an already existing game, and that works well with our publishing model, or that pays us oodles of cash for very little work (riiiight, and if you find one of those, let me know!).
Trinity Continuum Core art by Pat McEvoy
We’re thrilled to be able to publish so many immersive worlds where players can find deep meaning in their game play. That’s a testament to the amazing writing and visuals that take us to all these places, and to an in-house team that has filled-in, rejuvenated, cajoled, encouraged, and relentlessly supported our out-of-house creative teams.
Mighty Matt and Mirthful Mike, and our trio of Dixie, Matthew, and Eddy, have pushed, prodded, pleaded, and practically puked to get our vast array of projects finished with love and care this whole year, and their efforts are paying off big time as noted above!
In fact, you can listen to the Terrific Trio every Friday on the Onyx Pathcast and often get some clues as to where the projects they are responsible for are headed, and the sorts of challenges they surmount every week.
This Friday, they flash back to the conventions we attended a couple of weeks ago and tell each other about their favorite characters!
Truly, this post has been all about our:
Many Worlds, One Path!
BLURBS!
KICKSTARTER:
Next up, we’re working on the Kickstarter for They Came From Beneath the Sea! (TCFBtS!), which has some very different additions to the Storypath mechanics we’ll be explaining during the KS. They take an excellent 50’s action and investigation genre game and turn it to 11!
Check out the teaser above!
Looking to start on Dec 18th at 1pm EST but run it extra long into January!
ELECTRONIC GAMING:
As we find ways to enable our community to more easily play our games, the Onyx Dice Rolling App is now live! Our dev team has been doing updates since we launched based on the excellent use-case comments by our community, and this thing is both rolling and rocking!
ON AMAZON AND BARNES & NOBLE:
You can now read our fiction from the comfort and convenience of your Kindle (from Amazon) and Nook (from Barnes & Noble).
If you enjoy these or any other of our books, please help us by writing reviews on the site of the sales venue you bought it from. Reviews really, really help us with getting folks interested in our amazing fiction!
Our selection includes these fiction books:

You don't seem to like Jonerys. Why?
A bunch of reasons. Show!wise, it’s officially come down to “These characters seriously piss me off, period.”
Book!wise?There’s two prongs to this.
The first prong is quite the opposite of why I don’t like Show!Jonerys. I LOVE the book versions of these characters. I really, really root for both Jon and Dany, want them to succeed, and love their goals and ambitions. I want them to get what they want, and feel that is what they deserve. And I don’t think a romance between the two of them satisfies their characters, their inner hopes, dreams, goals, and ambitions. It simply will not allow them to get the endings they deserve.
Now, let me make this clear: I am not saying their motivations are utterly alien to each other. Both of them have severe identity and displacement issues. Both of them, on some level, yearn for home. But what those things mean to them as people, and the paths that may bring them… the things they want simply don’t mesh in a way that makes room for romance.
I WANT Daenerys to win her empire (not necessarily atop the Iron Throne, though, because it sucks, but Dany’s already building her own empire independent from that and I do believe the climax of her character arc will be her realizing that), find her true identity, reconcile her own ideals and background on which to build a better world on which she is at the forefront. I WANT her to find and build her house with the Red Door. I WANT her to be everything she’s dreamed of being: the great, immovable leader who has found a balance between embracing her heritage and the legacy left to her, while also DOING better than that and employing who she is towards betterment, rather than destruction.
I WANT Jon to be able to rid his world of the monsters threatening it, then return to the home he’s always known, finally secure and reconciled with who he is, his honor, and have that happy life back at Winterfell with a wife and children he can name after the loved ones he’s lost.
And, sorry, but Daenerys cannot, should not be the wife Jon dreams of. Her place isn’t at Winterfell. And once she helps save the world (which she will), nothing about her character suggests that she’s interested in retiring from there. Yes, like Jon, she yearns for a home and a solid sense of identity. But her struggle for that lies in the legacy she represents and an actual place to belong.
Jon, on the other hand, has his identity crisis more attuned to his bastardry, to his sense of honor. And when he dreams of home, he doesn’t dream of a vague area with a house with a red door. He dreams of his sisters, he dreams of his brother and the man who raised him, and he dreams of a place he knows every inch of: Winterfell.
He has absolutely no interest in thrones or titles or power, exactly. He considers his childhood dreams of being Lord of Winterfell to be selfish, childish, and shameful. To the point where when he is literally offered everything he dreamt of as a child — no longer being a bastard, being the lord of Winterfell— even when he considers it, his thoughts are more about having a wife and a son named Robb, not the power and prestige. And he ultimately rejects it, “Winterfell belongs to my sister, Sansa.”
Daenerys, should she survive kicking the WW’s frozen asses, isn’t stopping there. Despite how much she loved Drogo and Rhaego, how she did (briefly) consider settling down as Khaleesi (which, even then, it’s the Dothraki, so by definition they technically don’t settle down anywhere), even then, it was with the promise of mothering “The Stallion that Mounts the World.” And it also had more to do with her burgeoning liberation from Viserys and the love she found with Drogo than any real desire for domesticity (the only time she’s considered it is being with the Dothraki, which is a life of conquest and exploration anyways). Once Drogo dies, though, she knows what she truly wants. Despite detours and other desires that have come into play for Dany, despite various obstacles, mistakes, and distractions, all of it has been in service, ultimately, to getting her big, big prize. Of building her empire, taking her throne, being the scion of House Targaryen (granted, I think this will end with her doing these things, but in a way that is NOT what she expected. Daenerys will not be the new Targaryen Dragon Queen of the unsustainable, highly problematic empire her VERY unprincipled forebears built. Dany births her own dragons and builds her own empire. I think she’s as likely to be Queen of the Iron Throne as she is of being Queen of Old Valyria. Daenerys will build a new empire of her own and will be followed there. She’ll be a badass queen, but through using her dragonfire to light beacons for others to follow her, to forge steel beams and form glass palaces, not through conquest). Maybe she’ll settle all of Old and New Ghis. Asshai will almost certainly be involved. But Daenerys isn’t meant to just perpetuate that ugly symbol of conquest and destruction Aegon the Conqueror created. But she IS a queen. It’s what she wants. It’s what drives her.
(And let me also make this clear: THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.)
And, yeah, sorry, but neither of these characters have “endgame” desires and goals that meld together. Neither of these characters should have to sacrifice their particular desires and goals to serve those of a romantic partner. Both of them deserve better. They should be with people whose happiness, desires, and dreams already align with theirs so they can build the lives they want without stifling their partners’ destinies.
Jon, at his heart, wants to survive, be accepted for who he is, go home, and build a family in the place he’s always loved and known.
Daenerys, at her heart, wants to build/rebuild something momentous from what her family left behind, find and make a place for herself, and be the leader and beacon of it all.
Jon has never shown the slightest interest in kingship, a throne, or such a level of power. Indeed, he seems to be highly disillusioned with the concept of it all. He’s never even had the slightest desire to go south of Winterfell. Even his desires for exploration (ranging) lay in the North. He wants to get through this shit, get rid of it, and live with a wife, kids, a son named Robb, and the home he’s never been able to leave behind.
What part do either of these two characters play in the other’s dreams, really? I can’t see Jon as the ambitious emperor who wants leave Westeros behind to build a new kingdom on dragonback. I cannot see Daenerys as the Lady of Winterfell, living out her days in feudal domesticity.
This doesn’t mean they can’t mesh well as people, or have a wonderful bond, but considering the setting and what a “romantic” ending entails, sorry, I can’t.
The two of them will likely form a strong bond. The story is definitely pushing them together… but that doesn’t mean romantically. It means that they’re going to connect, save the world together, and likely provide major growth for one anothers’ character arcs.
The idea that their connection must be romantic? Yeah, sorry, that’s the second prong: I don’t like the fact that so many people, upon seeing that these two characters are connected, jump to that connection being romantic, especially given the other prong. If they were both men, or both women, I feel like there would be far less popularity around them as a romantic pairing.
Don’t get me wrong: I want Jon and Dany to form a bond and come to love each other… just not like that. Daenerys has had no shortage of men who have been devoted to her based on romantic “love”. She deserves a respite from that, both personally and narratively, and where better to find it than with her only living relative? (who she’ll save the world with!) It’s why, if you read my fic, you’ll find that Dany is frequently a major character who does, in fact, form deep, emotional, nurturing bonds with Jon and his family. Both of them have identity issues concerning family. They happen to BE family, by blood, and when they do meet and discover this, there’s tons of potential for their arcs as characters to be fulfilled in that respect. Jon being a Targaryen is going to rock the largest part of his identity — being Ned Stark’s bastard. Just as it will with Dany, who has operated for nearly the entire time we’ve known her on the basis that she is the last Targaryen and is alone in the world. What would be far, far more beautiful and fulfilling, in my mind, is them being family. THESE TWO CHARACTERS ARE AND WILL BE INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT TO EACH OTHER. Given how the only relative Daenerys ever knew was the abusive Viserys, who just happened to abuse her sexually as well as physically, mentally, and emotionally, the idea of her finding a relative like JON, who knows how to have bonds like the gorgeous one he shares with Arya, and finding a true, loving family bond there would be breathtaking, poetic, and gorgeous. I like the dynamic of having the male character’s dreams and goals be fulfilled in a way that is tied to the romantic and domestic, while the female character’s fulfillment being divorced from that and instead being built on platonic love free from sexualization, building something new, and achieving pure, raw ambition and power.
A Jonerys romance/endgame for me is the antithesis of that.
Am I saying my position is right? No. But it’s my perspective. It’s how I feel about the whole thing.

Wonder Woman (2017)
So I went to a prescreening of Wonder Woman last night and I had some thoughts. For the tl;dr types, I’ll just say that it’s a really, really fantastic superhero movie and one that I think we desperately need right now. It’s a little rough in spots, but I really think it’s one of the best superhero films I’ve seen in years. Perhaps ever.
That said, it’s a pretty emotionally grueling one to get through; the ultimate message is one of hope, but you sure go through some shit to get there. If the goal is some mindless fun, take that into account before you choose this film. Also, though this film is relatively progressive on issues such as race, sex, and sexuality, it was really pretty appalling re: disability. I’ll get into my reasons for saying that at the very end of this review, but I will warn you that I cannot talk about that without reference to Extreme Spoilers. So they’ll go under a spoiler heading a the end.
Quite long -- it’s really an extensive review and a mini-essay about ableism in the film -- so here’s a cut.
I will start this review out by saying I have never been the biggest fan of Wonder Woman. I don’t mean to say I didn’t like her. More that I just never felt a strong connection with her, as much as I wanted to. So I’m coming at this from the POV of someone who was familiar with Diana’s story but who wasn’t a megafan and as someone who wasn’t necessarily expecting to be blown away. That said, I totally was. I wasn’t expecting this to be a movie for me, specifically, but damn it all if it wasn’t the kind of message I needed right now.
To get the necessary out of the way, Diana is absolutely spectacular in this movie. Gal Gadot plays a Diana who is strong, fierce, and kind, with a raw intelligence that’s only tempered by her confusion towards humankind’s seemingly incomprehensible customs and cruelties. She’s beautiful as she learns and breathtaking as she fights and readers, I am now gay as hell for Wonder Woman. (I mean, I can’t say that she’ll make you gay, but if you, like me, are a wlw, this movie will be a treat.) Like, Wonder Woman is honestly a pretty difficult kind of character to pull off if you don’t believe in her intrinsically, but the creators of this movie clearly did. She is a woman who is unapologetically strong, unapologetically kind, and never demonized for her hope. She never, ever veered into corny. She said unbelievable things simply and with conviction and damn it, you believed her. More than any other superhero I’ve come into contact with (and I’ve come into contact with a lot), this Wonder Woman is here to give you strength.
So setting aside that I probably would’ve happily watched a movie that was just Wonder Woman being Wonder Woman for two hours, the plot of this movie was actually very strong. It’s going to get a lot of comparisons to Captain America: TFA, which I think is pretty inevitable, especially considering certain plot developments late in the film, but I sort of feel like WW wanted to do many of the same things CA did but in every aspect decided to go harder. It’s a war film, but it’s also a film about Diana learning about all of the tiny casual cruelties that accompany being human, and her trying to get her head around the sheer senselessness of that while retaining her hope. As opposed to CA:TFA and her first comic book appearances, this is a World War I movie -- chosen, I suspect, because it was a particularly senseless war that used particularly gruesome tactics. There is no one true enemy in WWI, a fact which Diana is forced to learn the hard way. It is, as Steve Trevor puts it, “messy”.
At any rate, the movie opens up in a very different world -- that of the Amazons. Despite having a very limited amount of time in which to do so, the film devises a society that provokes a sort of wistfulness in the watcher. Themyscira, for all its faults, is a beautiful society set in a paradise. Diana’s eventual choice to leave is inevitable, but watchers can keenly feel exactly what she is giving up when she does so. After being raised as the only child on an island full of wise and loving female warriors, only hearing of the world of Mankind through bedtime stories, Diana’s idyllic peace is shattered when Steve Trevor crash lands on the beach and brings WWI with him. He tells her of unspeakable bloodshed in a war that never ends, and she becomes convinced that this is the work of Ares, the god of war and the Amazons’ sworn enemy. So, of course, she defies orders and accompanies Steve to the human world to try and make things right. From there, she’s buffeted in a constant storm of politics, culture shock, and cruelty as she tries to make sense of a war that is much more than just fighting.
As Diana makes her way through Europe, she comes to realize that the human world was far more complicated than she’d initially thought; this wasn’t just a question of helping good Americans and British soldiers defeat the bad Germans. She encounters victims of sexism and racism and learns that bad blood absolutely permeates the human world. She initially attributes this to Ares’ influence, but is forced to confront the fact that things are perhaps much more complicated than that -- and that no nation in this war has clean hands.
In the end, WW becomes less of a war movie and more a question of human worthiness as a whole. Wonder Woman comes to humanity as a savior and a judge -- she sees all the beauties of our world, but is repulsed by the banality of our evil. In a world that for many of us feels increasingly bleak, marred by the constant cruelties and idiocies of those with power, her message that hope remains is so welcome. Does it really matter if anyone “deserves” to be saved? Or is it just the act of saving that’s so necessary to what we are?
The heart of the movie probably comes from the relationship between Diana and Steve Trevor, which fans of the comics likely won’t be surprised to hear. But Steve never defines Diana; he is her guide to the human world, but she doesn’t always like him. The two of them have fundamentally different ideas about war, peace, and the nature of the two. Diana wants to power her way through injustice through sheer force of will, while Steve is very willing to use more pragmatic and underhanded tactics to achieve victories for the greater good. Truthfully, both have some points to make, and both of them make each other better. It’s a romance (though, as fans realize early into the movie, one that cannot possibly have made it to the present day, 100 years later) but it’s also a meeting of two well-meaning minds. The relationship between them is refreshingly egalitarian -- and when Diana sees something she wants, she takes it. (Hell yeah, sex positivity.) In other words, Steve’s a good guy and a damn pretty face, but not a single character in this movie lets him forget that Diana’s the protagonist. lol
I’ve seen Wonder Woman described as “lighter” than the other DC movies, which to me seems bewildering. There are moments of levity in the film, and it definitely got a lot of laughs from our audience. And its ultimate message is one of hope. But good lord, the devastation you wade through to get there. WW takes a largely unflinching look at the horrors of war, and I think it’s only the fact that most of the nastiest violence takes place offscreen that saved this movie from getting an R. Diana sees dead men, women, and children. She sees the wounded. She gets a look at the horrors of PTSD. She realizes that for many, war means no longer having the choice about whether to get your hands dirty. Her cast of characters, from Etta Candy to Steve Trevor to the little band of misfits that Trevor picks up to help them with their goals, is lovable. But all of them have seen horrors just like she has, and many of them weren’t endeared to the world even before it went up in flames. It can, at times, be a very, very hard movie to watch.
All that said, I found the movie to be profoundly moving and something that I dearly needed in these trying times. I came out thinking, somewhat bewildered, that it was probably simultaneously the darkest and most hopeful superhero movie I’d ever seen. Because really, Wonder Woman is the story of a goddess coming to visit our world and seeing every last bit of evil we have to bestow upon each other -- and loving us anyway. She sees how casually cruel, how absolutely awful we can be, and still has faith that we will make things right in the end. And she’ll help us do it. She will just tirelessly fight to make sure we don’t entirely lose our way. And god, do we need it.
I would 100% recommend Wonder Woman (if you’re in the right frame of mind to watch it) and I really, really think this is a movie you should be supporting. This movie proves that excellent female-led action/superhero movies can exist, and it’d be great if we could all make sure the studios know that. It’s progressive in a lot of ways, though it certainly stumbles occasionally, and I think that’s also something to support with your wallet.
BUT. WITH ALL THAT IN MIND. Holy shit, that movie had problems with disability, and I wouldn’t feel wholly honest without delving into that a little bit. But I cannot fully talk about it without some spoilers, so like!! Proceed at your own risk.
SPOILERS!
So here’s the thing. One thing that’s very frustrating in period films is the total lack of the PWD (people with disabilities) who existed at the time. Like damn, they had horrific wars, polio, plagues, and very poor medical technology! You better believe there were PWD walking (or rolling) around, populating society back then. But I’ve come to terms with the fact that most Hollywood movies aren’t going to depict that. This isn’t about that. But it’s a concept that worsens what I’m about to say.
The fact of the matter is that there are really only two big characters with a visible physical disability in Wonder Woman, and they’re both fucking monsters. Wonder Woman doesn’t show that only bad people are wounded, but the people who Diana sees being carted off the battlefield with limbs missing and eyes gone dead are never named and never spoken of again. They are the Unnamed Wounded, and they’re as good as dead. Just victims to feel bad about. Which wouldn’t necessarily bother me -- except again, the only characters we actually see living while disabled are absolutely fucking EVIL.
The first character is Doctor Maru, the poisons expert working for the German military. Now, Maru is based on Doctor Poison, which is a character with a bit of an iffy background in comics; she was originally a WWII-era Japanese villain, and -- I mean, god, you see where I’m going with this. She was reimagined as a white villain in the New 52, which was mimicked in the movie. But instead of using race as a signifier for evil, Wonder Woman now uses disability. Maru has extensive facial scarring that is never explained (and is not present in the comics) but was likely a result of her experimentation. She wears a sort of facial prosthetic to disguise this, and it doesn’t really seem to have much of a point other than making her “creepy”. Later in the film, her evil personality (she is shown to be one of the few characters that takes actual sadistic pleasure in torturing and killing people) is linked explicitly with her facial scarring. Another character forcibly rips off her prosthetic (nooooo), exposing her scarring to a horrified Diana (nooooo) and says to “just look at her”, that’s she’s a perfect example of how rotten and corrupted humanity really is. (NOOOOO.) And Diana doesn’t join up with that person, but she doesn’t disagree with this characterization of Maru, either. She loves humanity despite people like Maru, and that’s made exceptionally clear in this scene. And the fact that, in this pivotal scene, Maru’s villainy is explicitly linked to her facial scarring (her disabled outside is a reflection of her distorted inside) without anyone questioning that statement... God, do I even have to go into why that’s fucked up?
The other character -- AND MAJOR SPOILERS HERE -- is Sir Patrick Morgan, who is the mild-mannered member of the cabinet who helps Diana and her cadre from afar. Oh yeah, also he’s actually Ares, the god bent on destroying literally all of humanity. Ares seems to lose the cane and the limp when he’s in full-on god mode, which seems to mean that the disabled persona was just an affectation -- in other words, the only other disabled character in this movie was just faking their disability (nooo) in order to seem weak and unassuming (nooooooo) but is actually a tricksy bastard fooling everyone (jfc no) and HE IS ALSO GENOCIDAL. Ares isn’t actually a bad character, but jfc. Those tropes to lean on! Why!
Like if there’s one message to take from this movie re: disabled people, it’s “don’t trust them”. And as much as I think this movie isn’t child-appropriate anyway, jfc, what a message to throw into a movie. Not only were the period-appropriate disabled people virtually erased, they were replaced with absolute monsters whose disabilities were either explicitly linked with their shitty personalities or sneaky villains whose heel-face-turns rest on notions of disabled duplicity and weakness. (If you’ve never been accused of faking your disability for accommodations or assistance, you... are a very lucky PWD.)
Wonder Woman takes such pains to be progressive on so many levels that it only seems to make this portrayal of PWD sting even more. It truly feels like we have been framed as the last acceptable target, and that we again have been relegated to the outskirts of social justice rhetoric. And so though I loved 90% of the film, I really do have to offer this caveat: jesus fucking christ, WW, do better with disabled people.

YOU’VE BEEN LIED TO
AMERICA YOU’VE BEEN LIED TO Written here is a critical re-examination of presumed historical facts and existing historiography. America you’ve been lied too, history has been a lie and has become the engine of man’s demise. Corrupt beliefs have become the truth. “Mainstream History is Entirely False” What we’re up against is bigger than any country. In fact, it’s bigger than all the countries in the world. The ruthless powers that be have decided that only they can declare what is true and that it is against the law to disagree with them. The human mind is being locked up for the final time. Amazon, Google, and Facebook are all Jewish entities, and all prohibit objective discussion about the lies told about the World Wars. Utterances that describe the events of World War II that are not approved by the Jews are now called “hate crimes”. Jews most definitely cannot prove what they say about WWII — but we can. Six million! Baloney! 296,081 is Germar Rudolf’s 2003 count, following the International Red Cross count in October 1980 of 273,905. How many billions of dollars have the Jews stolen from the world with this falsehood they have inflicted on everyone with their incessant and fallacious media propaganda? Think about the 66 million, mostly Christians, that the Bolshevist Jews murdered in Russia from 1917-1957. Jews can’t prove there were gas chambers at Auschwitz or anywhere else. The thousands of hysterical Jewish testimonies about concentration camp horrors remain totally refuted by the International Red Cross visits during the war which found German treatment of prisoners far superior to the way Americans treated the Japanese prisoners they interned during WW II. Think about why Ursula Haverbeck, age 89, would risk prison to tell the real story of WW II, in which three Jewish controlled countries, Britain, the USSR, and the USA conspired to eliminate the last viable challenger to Jewish financial control of the world, which was the German economic miracle devised and deployed by Adolf Hitler. Would Mrs. Haverbeck do this because she was insane, or because she was telling the truth? It is even more puzzling, why would the German government insist on jailing an old woman who questioned a simple detail of history unless they were trying to cover up a gigantic lie? For those with eyes to see, the answer is clear. Think too about Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gadhafi, both of whom treated their citizens much more kindly than the Jewish-run countries of the West. They followed Hitler’s example of treating their own people well. And they were murdered by the Jewish Deep State using their favorite weapon, the American war machine. Most Americans simply have not realized that all contemporary media, movies, music, TV, even books are controlled by Jews. Those outlets not owned by Jews are statistically insignificant and generally ignored. But now, the Jewish onslaught of trying to erase independent thought from the world has intensified. A whole category of history has been expunged by the Jews from all the electronic media they own, which is practically everything. And honest people are being lined up for incarceration and silence so the Jews may more easily make their fabricated history become the de facto history of the world. Imprisoned by lies Everyone in the world is now prevented by financial blackmail from even contemplating the truth. Jews control all your money, no matter how many non-Jewish intermediaries exist between you and them. Even as you read this, the vise grips clamped around your head begin to tighten. Play ball and you have nothing to worry about. Blow the whistle on these child-eating maniacs and you’re going down hard. They’ll kill your children. A Congressman whose questions were a little too sharp just resigned because of that threat. Remember what happened to Paul Wellstone. Revisionists tend to be idealists. They observe objectively. What they write tends to be clear. They don’t make things up unlike the purveyors of the lies they seek to revise. I’m like everybody else. I believed the propaganda I heard most of my life (or at least since the late 1960s). Took me to middle age to be jarred into realizing I believed in some obvious lies. What if telling the truth will cost you your job? What if your wife and family call you a beast and throw you out of the house for harboring such horrendous ideas? Jews own your soul because they own your money and also have the ability to take it all away from you at any time. They want you to be afraid, to tell the truth. As a replacement, they want you to believe their truth, which is invariably at variance with what actually happened. Both World Wars, 9/11, the fouling of the sky with chemtrails, the poisoning of humanity with Glyphosate, and the capture of the world’s media, these are all Jew poisons you ingest daily. God help you if you start telling people that Adolf Hitler was actually the good guy. It won’t matter to them that it happens to be the truth, because they’re so scared of what will happen to them should they choose to stop living their lie. Mainstream history is entirely false In case you don’t know by now, the Jewish truth is an oxymoron. There is no such thing existing in the world. The Jews’ holiest books command Jews to lie to non-Jews in all situations. Now they’ve swindled the money of every country in the world, which all dance to the puppet’s tune while their leaders steal most of the money. The penetration of Jewish lies in the world mind is nearly complete. Most of what people have been tricked into believing is false. Regarding the empirical facts of World War II, we can prove what we say and they can’t. They can only cast aspersions, trap you in blackmail, or if all else fails, hire some hungry poor person with sociopathic tendencies to murder you. If your offense is somewhat less bothersome, they use the courts, the law, the legal profession, the cops, and the TV stations which will tell everyone what a bad person you are because you disagree with the Jews. In the European Union courts, when it comes to Holocaust disputation, they say the truth is no defense. They put you in jail merely for attempting to tell the truth. How silly is that? Pick an adjective. Insane would be a good one. Jewish scripture urges Jews “to kill the best Gentiles”, which they do, constantly. A game we can’t win The measure of Jewish control of Britain was amply demonstrated by the arrest and continuing harassment of singer Alison Chabloz. This self-appointed Jew organization had to browbeat the government four times before charges were finally pressed. She could have lampooned any other ethnic group and no one would have lifted an eyebrow. And then they staged this phony arrest of Tommy Robinson supposedly protesting the Muslim rape epidemic to make sure Alison got no media coverage. (By the way, why have British authorities allowed the Muslim rape epidemic to continue for more than ten years?) We’re playing a Jewish game with the media, and it’s a game we can’t win. Jez Turner was put in jail for worse. He described Jewish control of British history perfectly and got slammed into jail during a particularly fruitful roundup of Revisionist activists. Now the Schaefer’s are in jail and Arthur Topham, who had been devoutly monitoring the daily status of the recently arrested, remains silent. And this is what these anti-Semitism laws are all about: to prevent discussion of Jewish crimes. Jewish soldiers kill Palestinians for fun. Jewish food producers poison Americans by the millions. Jewish drug manufacturers have addicted the whole world to their poison pills. All Jews are sociopaths because they follow the insane commands of the Talmud. Jews are not allowed to report crimes by their fellow Jews. How can they be good citizens anywhere? They have turned America into a sociopathic country, using the promotion of blacks to retard the culture of whites. People are being lied to. The U.S. is the chief force for evil in the world, mostly because they are doing the bidding of rich Jews who control the world’s money supply. Besides Israel and the Jews in the City of London, I defy you to tell me another power in the world that can make the U.S. military go anywhere in the world and murder those they are ordered to eliminate. Mindless obedience to murderous policies Tell the truth and go to jail! It’s the new party toast. Everything has been reversed. Leave those child molesters alone; they’re the ones in charge of the world. How in the world is anyone supposed to deal with a legal system that declares the truth is no defense. What would Thomas Jefferson say about that? Everything has been reversed. The good people are being put in jail. The bad people are making the laws. So that the freedom of speech and thought once guaranteed to all Americans are no longer in effect. Today, we can no longer criticize Jews for their manic criminality that negatively affects everybody on Earth. We will be arrested if we do. But if we don’t the future promises only mindless obedience to murderous policies from which we may never be able to protect ourselves. Refuse to Believe the Lies the Jewish-Programmed Media “Monsters” want you to believe! It is no more anti-Semitic to expose Jewish Zionist gangsters than it is anti-Italian to expose the Mafia. The Sicilian Mafia and the Jewish Zionist Cabal is basically the same sort of organizations built on tribal loyalty, tribal cronyism, murderous ruthlessness, and secrecy to advance their criminal designs. The true criminals have to be exposed to the majority... Are you afraid to tell the truth? You ought to be: Offend the Jews and your future is in jeopardy. How ironic that the group known as the world’s greatest liars now control the entire world’s media? Recognizing ‘something above your own nature’ helps detoxify the lies you’ve been told. No doubt if you have studied history beyond the mainstream abortion of it, you have had occasion to tell certain people something they simply refuse to believe, because it goes against what they’ve learned in their lifetimes through schools, newspapers, and TV — which mostly echo the lies of scheming politicians and their pathological theoreticians who conveniently shape history to fatten their own financial portfolios. Utterly deceived by the political lies our government tells us every day, we actually have no idea about our own actual history nor, in this useless overproduction of knowledge we are required to master that actually prevents us from thinking at all, do we have any idea what our government is doing at this present moment. We don’t find out later, either, because no matter who is in charge, they lie about everything they say, and insist it’s in the best interests of the people. Is this a species that can be trusted, or relied upon to do the right thing? The evidence says otherwise. Think about it. What is happening in the world is usually 180 degrees out from what our government SAYS is happening. Example, we are bombing Syria because we are fighting ISIS; yet, we are funding ISIS through third-party stooges Qatar, Bahrain, and the evil Saudis. We invented al-Qaida to answer the question of who knocked down the World Trade Center towers, and just today the government was telling us we had to look at al-Qaida, now tens of thousands strong and positioned all over the world, as a positive force in America’s war on Syria. https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2018/09/12/17-years-after-911-us-backs-al-qaeda-in-syria.html And of course the entire sordid drama is overseen by the Israeli puppet masters, who are immune to all logic and laws with their financial stranglehold on most of the politicians in the world. Law enforcement in the United States is a complete joke when the highest officials in the land commit crimes openly and a lapdog press corps constantly looks the other way while feeble police kill innocent bystanders for no reason but their own incompetence and even if they are charged is seldom convicted. Yet still, Americans have yet to understand that what psychopathological criminals do to their enemies they will do to their friends, and this is what everyone is experiencing right now as our society prepares for its final shakedown. The abuse of innocence Which are you? You’re cynical and razor-sharp self or a bruised ego on a mission to nowhere? In any case, you’re likely to trust your own poorly informed ego; you’re not likely to admit your comprehension of history is totally erroneous. Ancient Greece’s great leader, Pericles, spoke of this in his famous Funeral Oration. . . . It is hard to speak properly upon a subject where it is difficult to convince your hearers that you are speaking the truth. On the one hand, the friend who is familiar with every fact of the story may think that some point has not been set forth with that fullness which he wishes and knows it to deserve. On the other, a stranger to the matter may be led by envy to suspect exaggeration if he hears anything above his own nature. For men can endure to hear others praised only so long as they can persuade themselves of their own ability to equal the actions recounted: when this point is passed, envy comes in and with it incredulity. Praise of other people is tolerable only up to a certain point, the point where one still believes that one could do oneself some of the things one is hearing about. Once beyond that point, people become jealous disbelievers. But perhaps Pericles’ best remembered piece of advice is this. One’s sense of honor is the only thing that does not grow old, and the last pleasure when one is worn out with age, is not, as the poet said, making money, but having the respect of the people who have known you best. For it is only the love of honor that never grows old; and honor it is, not gain, as some would have it that rejoices the heart of age and helplessness. Though deemed out of fashion in a Wall Street world, this lost honor is what keeps humanity distracted from their own lives by the chains of chaos. Society has been overtaken by its own promiscuity One of the ironies of the creative process is that it partly cripples itself in order to function. I mean that, usually, in order to turn out a piece of work, the author has to exaggerate the emphasis of it, to oppose it in a forcefully competitive way to other versions of the truth; and he gets carried away by his own exaggeration, as his distinctive image is built on it . . . . The problem is to find the truth underneath the exaggeration, to cut away the excess elaboration or distortion and include that truth where it fits. Ernest Becker, the Denial of Death, 1974 The false cry of SIX MILLION DEAD Echoes across time like a nightmare from the mind of a madman. You’ve no doubt seen the story of the history detailing the use of this freighted phrase since the late 19th century, six million Jews in jeopardy of starving by one evil government or another, forever 6 million! Jewish newspapers kept running these stories right up until they could pin it all on Hitler in a triumphant public relations strategy. Becker, a Jewish cultural anthropologist, described the danger of exaggeration correctly. He also inadvertently described the situation of so-called Jewish persecution by the Germans, which was triggered by a Jewish declaration of war against the Germans nine years before World War II ever started. The Red Cross death toll from German camps researched in 1980 came to around 270,000. How much of a Jewish exaggeration is 6 million? And where do the 12 million Germans who were murdered by the ‘allies’ after the war ended fit into your calculations? Also, the blood libel of the Jews wanting to suck the blood of gentile children was falsely blamed on the Germans, who actually were scrupulous in their conduct of prisoners. Because of kosher public relations excellence, virtually the entire world believes the Jewish lies about Hitler, who in fact was the world’s most beloved leader of the 20th century. Name a U.S. president who was so beloved, if you care to try. This habit of overwrought exaggerations is also constantly present in all American rhetoric about Russia, which has been ingrained into our minds as an evil menace as surely as Hitler was demonized, but only by Jewish media and not as a rule by ordinary people around the world, especially now after the heroic Russians saved Syria from American and Israeli perfidy. I’m saying public political palaver today is lost in its own exaggerations which obscure the actual content of what is being said. After all the sensational charges, the fact remains America has propped up Russia throughout the 20th century so that the moneymaking tension keeping us on the verge of constant war kept on generating maximum profits for the Rothschild’s and their weapons manufacturers. This process applies to the two greatest tragedies in recent times — World War II and 9/11 — in which total lies are accepted as fact by a majority of people in the world. Far removed from the time it happened, people are today being slammed into jail for challenging propagandistic lies now called “The Holocaust” that justify the crimes of the Deep State maniacs who seek to turn the world into a giant prison. And the obvious hoax of steel skyscrapers being destroyed by fire is by now seen by all those who care to contemplate the absurdity of the government’s 9/11 hype and the blanket immunity given to Israelis caught by the cops on their way to blow up the George Washington Bridge as classic smokescreens in the fog of war. How can a population be deemed sane when its own government (the USA) has its main enemy (Russia) surrounded by military bases, and yet, Americans are told Russia remains the greatest threat? There are no Russian military bases surrounding the U.S. You know, of course, that back in the days of the czars, Russia was America’s best friend, but that was before the obvious emergence of Jewish power in America. By the time the 19th century turned into the 20th, Rothschild henchman Jacob Schiff had engineered the Japanese defeat of Russia in 1905, not only betraying a reliable old friend but setting up a new patsy for future wars. The cause of the blindness How can it be we’ve been unable to see the scam that continues to be played on us, always it’s the rich get richer and the poor disappear to the impartial ruthlessness of poverty? It hasn’t been by accident. Its one thing to talk about nationhood but quite another to talk about what is best for the human species. From that tangent develops every revolution and every invention known to humanity, as the struggle for personal gain collides with simple facts that keep us alive, such as air to breathe and water to drink. Is it best for our children to hear of our role inflicting cholera on a large part of the population of Yemen for the purpose of securing shipping lanes and oil fields? This is who we are as Americans. But is it who we are as humans? The human tendency is to revel in the misfortunes of others, and there are plenty of sources around to provide them for us. In fact, all commerce is based on strife, the amelioration of desires, which is why, I guess, the cleverest among us have seized upon constant wars as the best moneymaking opportunity out there. It is your choice to let this strategy be the epitaph of an extinct human species. The current political climate might as well be a script for some mindless TV sitcom where the truth is nowhere to be found, only the propaganda programming of perverts trying to turn people into robots, a venomous project which has largely succeeded. The Jews founded all three TV networks and they called it diversity. None of this will be important when we are dead. But the point is to avoid this eventuality for as long as possible, and the first step is doing this is to perceive the world as it really is as best we can, and refuse to accept the hollow lies the Jewish-programmed media monsters command us to believe. John Kaminski is a writer who lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida, constantly trying to figure out why we are destroying ourselves, and pinpointing a corrupt belief system as the engine of our demise.

Oh yes, the time has come. We are getting prepped for the Hunter: The Vigil 2nd Edition for Chronicles of Darkness Kickstarter on Thursday, the 6th at 2pm EST. Flashlights, arcane knowledge, talismans, Desert Eagles, stakes, silver bullets, all that kind of thing!
HtV 2e will be the last of the first edition core books needing to be updated to 2nd Edition, and we are really excited to be able to essentially add in the final piece of the Chronicles of Darkness 2e puzzle for first edition fans.
And beyond that, I’m excited because first edition was one of the two Chronicles of Darkness (back when the line was called the New World of Darkness) game lines that I green-lit as WW Creative Director and worked on from start to finish with the developers.
Not that I was involved with every day to day decision – no siree! The genius parts of Changeling: The Lost and Hunter: The Vigil were all brought to you by the incredible creative teams that put their awesome hard work into those books. No, my efforts then, and a large part my efforts still, were to set the course, determine the tone we were going for, hire the right main dev, and make sure they were onboard – and then help them bring it to fruition with that overall feeling intact.
Nameless and Accursed art by Tilen Javornik
Why, I remember it as if it were yesterday. I was sitting at my computer desk in my studio on the fringes of Philadelphia talking to newly signed-on Hunter developer Chuck Wendig…
…waaaaavvvvy liiiiinnnneeesssss…
“Chuck”, I said, because that’s his name, “You good with all the pitch notes and idea files I sent you?” He replied that he had a couple of ideas to run past me, actually. One, he was thinking of ways to give the Hunters something special. Not supernatural, but a boost in what they could do in combat with foes that will usually outmatch, or completely outmatch them.
The other was a meta way to look at the Hunter: The Vigil experience so you could comfortably, and be supported by the game if you wanted to, use HtV to play the lone hunter type, the plucky band of investigators, and the world-spanning hunters that are part of huge or wealthy or ancient organizations.
So we talked about different ways both those elements could work in the basically working-class joe sort of Hunter he was envisioning.
…waaaaavvvvvyyyy lllliiiinnnneeeesssss…
From that conversation were planted the seeds that grew into the Tactics system and the Three Tier system that Chuck did such a fantastic job of bringing to the game, and were both such an important part of what made first edition HtV stand out.
Side note: Although not involved with HtV 2e in any way, Chuck Wendig has, of course, gone onto a stellar writing career after his stint writing and developing for White Wolf over a decade ago, and has written both for brands like Star Wars, and has written his own novels, including the absolutely superb and terrifying Wanderers, which I truly can not recommend strongly enough. I read it almost non-stop for three days last summer; it is just that compelling!
Distant Worlds art by Pat McEvoy
During the time we were working on the core book, I remember doing a PowerPoint presentation during a CCP North America retreat – in fact this might have been the first one since White Wolf and CCP had merged – about the Tabletop RPGs we were making in our little division of the now-merged company.
Up until I began to explain Hunter – the new game – I got the impression that of the audience consisting of the WW crew, plus those CCPers who had moved to the US, plus new employees, that only the WW crew were responding with any real enthusiasm. There were some chuckles at the right spots, but not enough of the kind of response I was used to.
Then, I started to explain the ideas behind Hunter, and one after another, you could almost see them like flowers opening one by one as the sun hits them at dawn, the audience began to really listen. And react to the amazing Hunter art we were showing them. And laugh. And finally, at the end, it was the Icelanders from CCP that cheered the loudest when I practically yelled out that we should “Take Back The Night!”.
Helluva moment.
Now, that was the past, which sets us up for the present, which is this new, second, edition. Here’s a run-down of the book pulled from the Kickstarter page:
Hunter: The Vigil Second Edition includes all the rules you need to play a hunter in a tier-one, -two, or -three chronicle.
Chapter One: Provides an overview of a hunter’s world; the history of the hunt; the types of hunters you can play; and three, separate types of gameplay included in this book: tiers one, two, and three.
Chapter Two: Compacts and Conspiracies are specialized hunter organizations that may be used for tier-two or -three games. In this chapter, you’ll read more about Hunter lore and the history of the compacts and conspiracies, find write-ups for six compacts and six conspiracies, along with rules for tier-three Endowments and how to make them.
Chapter Three: Allows you to build and customize a character. You’ll learn how hunters retain one foot in an unsuspecting world and another in the Vigil. Plus, you’ll discover more about the Code and how it shapes hunters’ core identities and beliefs.
Chapter Four: Dives into the rules for gameplay. It also offers rules for specific aspects of Hunter that includes investigation and socializing along with teamwork and Tactics.
Chapter Five: Offers a taste of the strange and unusual monsters hunters may come across during the hunt. Sample monsters are presented according to the type of terrain from which they originate along with notes for how these creatures may be modified. Additionally, monster-creation rules, ephemeral-entity rules, and Dread Powers are found in this chapter.
Chapter Six: Takes another look at the Hunter setting by introducing where monsters live, locations the supernatural has tainted, and which places are actually monsters themselves. It offers new rules to handle each type of location, along with several examples.
Chapter Seven: Is a sample chronicle setting. Yanked from the slasher-movie genre, the Slasher Chronicle is a horror-movie-themed setting that includes a new slasher-specific compact and conspiracy, rules for building slashers, customized approaches for tier-one, -two, and -three gameplay, new Storyteller characters, and more!
Chapter Eight: Offers advice for Storytellers to help build and manage a chronicle while fleshing out rules for Storyteller characters. Additional content includes advice for creating player-facing compacts and conspiracies.
The Appendices: Provide Equipment, Conditions, and Tilts likely to come into play in Hunter.
Heroic Land Dwellers art by Brian LeBlanc
So with that lead-in, I hope you’ll check out the HtV 2e Kickstarter when it goes live Thursday. Like most of our recent KSs, we’re doing this to finish off a great hardcover traditionally printed book and then print extras to get them into stores.
And also like most of our recent KSs, backers will receive sections of the finished text throughout the KS so they can decide if what they are reading works for them. If so, that’s what we want, and if not, backers can drop their pledges before the KS campaign is over.
Basically, unlike for the Hunters, it’s a no-lose scenario for backers, so I hope we’ll see you all there!

Today’s Reason to Celebrate!
Today is The Day The Music Died, when in 1959 a plane carrying The Big Bopper, Buddy Holly, and Ritchie Valens crashed, killing all aboard. This was an event that gutted American Rock ‘n’ Roll and created a domino effect on US culture far beyond the music industry that I can expound on for hours, and have. So, to take my mind off of that, here are some folks that I like that were born today: Norman Rockwell, painter (1894), Shelley Berman, comedian (1925), Victor Buono, actor (1938), Blythe Danner, ethereal actress (1943), and Warwick Davis, actor in many legendary nerd films (1970).
