I already answered 1 for everyone, and I answered 20 for Shion! Everything else under the cut.

What type of troll is your OC? Are they a ‘purebred’ troll or are some members of their family from different tribes?

Vando and Amita are both what I would consider purebred. Shion… I’m not too sure about, since I don’t know if his father is a Darkspear or if he’s from another tribe (like Shatterspear, or Bloodscalp), but we could technically say Shion is purebred. U’thel should very obviously at this point NOT be purebred - buuuut for the sake of anyone who may not know, U’thel is part Night elf (it’s why his last name is Stagheart).

How is their relationship with the loa? Are they on their good graces? Have they ever committed an act to upset their loa?

Vando has no relationship with the Loa whatsoever. He’s technically undead (though the real living / unliving state of Death Knights is REALLY up in the air), and he knows how the Loa feel about the undead. He hasn’t bothered to try and reconnect with them since realizing that he’s come back as a death knight. He’s also got some pretty deep anger about the fact that he was brought back, and in his mind definitely sees his undeath as a punishment for attempting to take his own life.

Amita has a strong relationship with the raptor Loa, Gonk, which is how she became a Druid of the Fang. She is mostly in Gonk’s good graces. She also had some form of connection with Shadra when she was on the Zandalari islands (to be frank Amita probably has more connections with other Loa but I honestly haven’t put too much thought into this, at least not for Amita).

Oh man, U’thel… his relationship with the Loa is strained, and he cusses them out constantly, but will do what they require of him of course. He’s got the… most stable relationship with Shango, who has taken quite a liking to him (much to his chagrin). He’s certainly in Shango’s good graces, and somewhat in Lukou’s, especially given his initial, very early on training as a priest. I wouldn’t say that U’thel is too much in the good graces of Bwonsamdi, but his rebellious and crass behavior has certainly piqued the Death Loa’s interest.

So far, none of my characters have done anything to upset their Loa, per say, but I’m sure U’thel gets close to it. Frequently.

Does your OC have a mate? Have they ever performed a mating ritual?

None of them have mates at the moment - and mating rituals… I don’t know? I did try to look this up, but I couldn’t seem to find anything in regards to troll mating rituals.

Soooo I guess I would have to go based on my own headcanons.

Vando was always single up to his death, especially since his lover was a Night elven rogue (she’s dead now, of course). Until he meets Fayura, at which point he’s courted by her. In this instance… he doesn’t really engage in a mating ritual, since he just ends up mimicking Fayura and courts her back. This relationship is slow, given Vando’s trauma.

Shion would definitely skip tribal anything because Helsett is Forsaken and therefore “human” in her traditions, and he totally does the whole “will you marry me” thing. Interestingly he’s been in a relationship before ever coming to terms with how he feels about Helsett, and was pulled into some… interesting “rituals”, let’s say that (I don’t really want to spoil much in regards to what happened to Shion).

U’thel definitely hasn’t done anything in regards to mating rituals, and I know for a fact that once he learns about WEDDINGS, he wants one, and no one will stop him. Sure it’s not a Night Elven or troll thing, really (especially since U’thel isn’t 1) a shadow hunter and 2) a chieftain), but he loves the idea of exchanging rings and vows and the whole shebang that comes with a wedding (the planning, the clothes, the EVERYTHING). So, hilariously, no mating ritual would be performed here either.

As for Amita… doesn’t have a mate (but in LO ends up with Vol’jin… after an amazing slow burn during which I hope to make everyone suffer HORRIBLY), and since I headcanon that a chieftain and/or shadow hunter choosing a mate would be a huge deal, is one of the few times the Darkspear (and perhaps other tribes?) would participate in anything like a wedding (otherwise, it’s the whole “here’s a pebble be mine” scenario - though I can imagine trolls crafting ornate daggers or arrows or bows or other weapons for each other to show their interest). In the case of getting married to a shadow hunter / chieftain, there’s an exchange of masks. Which I guess counts… as a mating ritual?

How does your OC handle being in heat? Are they more tolerable of it than other trolls? How long would you say the cycle is? Do you as the creator/mun believe your troll goes through heat?

Amita handles going into heat surprisingly well for someone with as much of a penchant for flirting as she has. Her cycle lasts about a week, but unlike popular belief, she doesn’t mate up to 80 times. She spends a good chunk of her heat pleasuring herself, because mating that many times is probably going to cause her to get pregnant again (and this is something she absolutely wants to avoid). She also, surprisingly, takes care in covering up her scent as best she can, and if male trolls are getting agitated due to it, she will resort to changing into one of druid forms - generally the wind serpent, to ensure she can quickly escape an area and return after everyone has calmed down. (I guess this might be surprising given Amita’s nature, but I also like to think that Amita has made a potion that acts as SOME sort of birth control, and keeps her from going into heat quite often. When she does go into heat, though, this is how she handles it).

Shion is mostly unaffected, but when female trolls are in heat and let off any sort of pheromones, he honestly gets so confused why he suddenly has an interest in a woman he’s never even met before. Due to this confusion, and the embarrassed fluster that follows, Shion immediately leaves the area to get away from the source of his sudden interest.

Vando is basically immune to when females go into heat. She could drape herself all over him and unless he still wouldn’t get aroused - of course, if she needed the “help”, Vando is more than willing (so long as she’s okay with getting several bruises, and certainly bad bad bite marks, because as I’ve covered before, Vando does not care if his actions in bed hurt the person he’s with or not).

U’thel, like Shion, gets confused by heat and what it is, and once it gets explained to him (probably by a flustered Vol’jin because he’s the closest thing to a troll dad that U’thel has so, props to you for dealing with this man-child Vol’jin), he learns how to mentally block it. So, like with Vando, a female in heat could drape herself over him and he would be able to resist any urges her pheromones might trigger in him. He’d need to leave eventually, though, because while his will-power is impressive, he would succumb to instinct eventually.
