im jumping ahead with the richjake bare au but thinking about the 'you know we're still cool, right?' line during i think two households, and having that line coming from michael to jake
because suddenly michael has realised that he's not the only one, so much happened and their friendships have fractured and jake's perfect life is falling apart and michael realises that he can help, maybe just a little bit
he doesn't know how but he tries to lend a hand out to him
'you know we're still cool, right?'
but jake doesn't say anything, just taking the bottle michael bought him
maybe if michael was a little more observant, maybe if he was a little more open, maybe things would be different
jenna assures him its not his fault, but how can he not blame himself?

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first time i saw this, when i was NOT a byler shipper, i thought el was running TO mike. i thought we were getting a sweet moment where el runs to mike and he puts an arm around her or hugs her.
then i realized she was running away from him.
and i was like, why?? they're supposed to be the couple why does she not want his comfort??
and even after will calls her out on doing mike wrong by lying to him, even after she sees that mike is attempting to talk to her and comfort her, that he's not angry at her, she still tells angela to lie to mike. more lies. that's how much she cares about keeping up the persona. had angela lied to mike, el would've continued lying to him the entire week. something she knows in her heart is wrong and not fair to mike.
this is a theme in s4. putting who you want to be seen as before being honest with your bf/gf. going above and beyond to preserve your lie, to be seen as who you want to be.
chrissy does that with jason. who she portrays herself as is completely different than who she really is and what she's really going through. jason has absolutely no idea chrissy is struggling and refused to believe chrissy would buy drugs, because chrissy didn't want to tell him. who knows how jason would've reacted if chrissy was honest, we don't know because chrissy didn't trust him enough to tell him. that's not love at all, that's sad.
this is a point in s2 as well. murray calls nancy out for being afraid to be her true self, and she stays with steve because she doesn't have to be her true self around him. she is her true self when she's with jonathan, and that's why they worked together. that's love.
the exact same thing happens with chrissy. the first time we see her genuinely smile is when she's with eddie. she's sweet and charismatic, and had she lived she totally would've gone to eddie's show, something you never would've expected from her, something her boyfriend, the person she pretends to love, would NEVER do.
robin and steve reinforce this too
Tumblr media
you fall in love with the person who makes you feel accepted, the person who makes you feel like you can be who you are. the person you trust with your true self.
mike and el don't trust each other enough, they don't understand each other well enough.
they would have to change their behavior towards each other by leaps and bounds, and we're already at the last season. there is no time for that. stranger things isn't a multi season show about the complexity of romantic relationships and the healthy way to resolve problems. there is no time for that in just about any movie or show, especially a sci-fi show. you know what's way easier and way more likable? pairing your character with someone they naturally click with, who bring out the best in each other and for some reason can't help but be their authentic selves when they're with each other.
did it with jancy, like i said earlier
did it with lumax. when lucas and max talked on the bus max found herself spewing about things she'd never even said out loud before, and she had to stop herself. something about lucas just made her feel comfortable, like she could be herself and tell the truth. she trusted him.
"You're nothing like your brother, okay? You're cool and different, you're super smart, and you're like, totally tubular."
jopper too! joyce constantly had to hide things from bob, she was insecure about their family not being normal.
"This is not a normal family."
"It could be."
though bob had good intentions, the message of the show is not trying to be normal when you aren't. whatever it is about you that makes you weird or different, whatever you've been through that changed you, stay true to it. dont bottle it up and try to be someone else. all of vecnas victims in s4 were doing this, and it didn't end well for them.
they even did it with dustin and suzie. dustin constantly tries to impress max with his teeth, then in season 3 he says suzie thinks kissing is better without teeth. he doesn't have to be insecure about that or try to impress her. she likes him for him.
mike isn't comfortable being his true self around el either. he's insecure about his interests, he feels like he has to act older and cooler to impress her.
you shouldn't be with the person you feel you have to impress. you should be with the person who relieves that pressure, who makes you feel like being the authentic you is enough.
jonathan and nancy, lucas and max, joyce and hopper, dustin and suzie,
cough WILL AND MIKE cough...

i would love to know which of the crazy ass boys gang would indulge a partner who watches reality tv? whose getting just as invested and angry and who is standing to the side saying it’s dumb and fake? (i know it’s kevin)
❥ who grins and bares it so they can bond with you ❥
Billy Loomis - This is just a bonding activity for Billy. It’s not awful. Nor is it the most fun thing in the world. It’s just one of those tiny moments that relationships are built off. The small bids for connection that build intimacy. You don’t bitch when he wants to watch Psycho for the sixth time in two months. He doesn’t bitch when you turn on trashy TV. He pulls you close, so that you’re sitting in his lap, or laid up against him, and pays enough attention to ask you the odd question or two to clarify what’s going on if he gets lost. What do you mean they switch couples?? When did they start doing that? Last week… oh I bet Luca was pissed.
David Mccall - David is obnoxious because he pretends to be the type who is upset when you watch without him. He’ll come home, glance at the TV and gasp dramatically: Baby! Why are you watching our show without me?! How far along are you? You watched an entire episode? You know better than that, baby! You gotta rewind it, hold on, I’ll order us some pizza. Can’t believe you’d watch behind my back! This is a ridiculous pantomime that you may or may not pick up on. Mileage varies as always. David couldn’t care less about the reality TV shows you watch. But he likes the way you giggle as you rewind it for him. Or the way you light up when you’re discussing it with him. You used to spend way too much time talking with your friends about this stupid crap. Now you talk to him. Who gives a shit about whatever mindless little thing you’re watching. What David enjoys is your undivided attention.
Jason Dean/JD - JD also sees this as a bonding activity and bid for connection… However, JD is a born hater. He bonds by talking shit. He’s not necessarily trying to be a bummer about the things you enjoy. He’s just a certified yapper when it comes to shit-talking. If he thinks something is stupid he just can’t sit in silence. This is his most underdeveloped life skill. He’s got ten minutes of quiet in him max. If he does manage to bite his tongue his face gives him away anyways. So what was the point? Will say something pretentious like: “Why are we watching people play out a badly scripted version of their lives through a screen when we could be out living ours, right now? Let’s hop on my bike and just ride, darling! Live a little!” Sir, I just worked an eight hour shift. I need to see someone who doesn’t deserve a rose get sent home in tears. Read the room. Get a grip.
❥ who is pissed off/devastated when you watch it without them ❥
Sebastian Valmont - What can he say? Sebastian likes to watch people experience psychological torment. He’s trying to turn on the first seasons of “America’s Next Top Model" and watch a girl get sent home in tears after the judges convinced her to shave her head bald to look more fierce. This is the type of quality reality TV that makes Sebastian laugh. Watching people go through their darkest moments in front of a camera that highlights the creases in their cheap makeup is how he likes to spend the occasional date night. You had to put him onto reality tv shows, but now he’s hooked. He probably watches more reality TV than you do. If we’re being honest. You think this might be how he gets to still live out his glory days of being an unrepentant asshole. Sometimes he sighs a little too wistfully when someone is being a monster.
Jordan Li - Jordan enjoys anything you do together. Even if they hate a particular activity, at least they’re spending time with you. Still, there are reality TV shows that Jordan really likes, such as: home improvement shows, “Say Yes to the Dress'', “Face Off”, “American Ninja Warrior”, and “RuPaul's Drag Race”. And then there are shows that Jordan puts on a brave face about. Things like “Love Island” and “Jersey Shore”. Jordan gets queasy just scrolling past them. There was a time before they became one of Brink’s favorites that their parents kept pushing them to try and be an entertainment Supe. No one is taking you that seriously, anyways! Maybe you’ll do better in the reality TV circuit. It’s unlikely Jordan will ever get stuck in projects like that now. They’ve proven they can be a heavy hitter. Proven that they’re strong enough to not need to sell themselves as cheap, easily-digestible, entertainment. Still, they don’t like thinking of the alternate world where they’re having to sit in front of a camera and do twenty retakes of “authentic” confessional room venting.
Stu Macher - He likes reality TV and doesn’t care who knows. Hooray! A shared interest… except watching these shows with him will piss you the fuck off. He has dog-shit opinions about everything. You will never be rooting for the same people. You will never agree on who handled a situation better. He’s always rooting for the asshole, it seems. You don’t even think he’s doing it to be contrary or to make you mad. He’s genuinely on their side (most of the time… he does enjoy making you mad.) Watching reality TV with Stu makes you want to kill him. It also makes you look at him funny. Why are you always siding with the bastards? You don’t think Ekin-Su needed to apologize? Stu, are you out of your fucking mind?
Josh Washington - You’re gonna try to tell me that the twins weren’t making him paint toenails while they pulled all nighters of “The Bachelor”? Sure, okay, if you’d like to believe that. And his inner circle consists of Emily and Jess? Please. He’s been watching trashy TV for years. He’s watched a little of everything. He is so well acquainted with the dark underbelly of reality TV that it would roll over for a tummy rub from him. It knows his scent. He can easily keep track of the names, faces, and plots. Who’s fucking who. Who hates who. Who’s forming secret alliances. You’ll probably be more lost than Josh ever gets. He’s a day one. He’s an OG.
❥ who is pissed off to even be hearing about it second-hand ❥
Sparrow!Ben Hargreeves - He has better shit to do than watch reality TV show crap all day, and so do you. These are the kinds of harsh words that will be waiting for you if you try and get him to watch anything fun with you. Ask him one too many times and, like a parent who is annoyed that you are bothering him, he will begin to fill up any moment of free time the two of you have with activities. No, babe, we can’t watch “90 Day Fiance.” Why? Because we’ve got to run the marathon for kids with cancer and then we’ve got dinner with the mayor after that. You two are gonna be booked and busy. You were obviously bored. Now you won’t have time to even think!
Kevin Khatchadourian - Please don’t remind him so blatantly of his own intellectual superiority over you (he’s an asshole.) He gets the ick of the century when you try and tell him what happened during one of your little…programs. If you have the audacity to take it a step further and ask him to watch with you? He’s rendered speechless. Since when is this relationship a safe space? He doesn’t enjoy well-written, heart-stopping, incredible genre-defining movies and television. And yet, somehow, you’re so delusional you think he’s gonna sit through reality television with you? Don’t piss him off. He doesn’t even bother responding. Enjoy the view of his back as he walks away!
❥ secret fourth worse thing ❥
Nathan Prescott - Nathan is once again in a category of his own, which you might call: too nosy to not get into it, but doesn't want you to know he enjoys it. He made fun of you when you first started to watch reality TV. He can’t go back on his word now. If you were cuddling on the couch he’d have his face turned into your stomach and dramatically roll his eyes at your absentminded head rubbing. Could we focus on what’s important please? But then the plots started thickening and the heated exchanges started to pique his interest. He knew he was cooked when he started recognizing names, who was booed up with who… wait that disloyal prick hooked up with who this week?! He tells you to just replay the episode because you’re explaining it shitty and you obviously want him to watch it and talk to you about it. It isn’t for his benefit at all. Turn the subtitles on, god dammit.
Tumblr media
A/N: this was really fun! how did you know i've been watching reality TV shows lately?? if you enjoyed these headcanons consider reblogging, leaving a reply, or an anon! a writers fuel is engagement. xoxoxo

Ever notice how these four members of the basketball team are inverted/upside down versions of the party?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The clues are the visual similarities...
Let’s start with least to most inverted:
Patrick and Lucas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their personalities aren’t so different, as Patrick does seem like one of the nicest members of the team. Here’s where they are opposites:
- Lucas/the Sinclairs are shown to have the healthiest family dynamics on the show. Patrick, on the other hand, has trauma from his family and seems to have an abusive dad. Lucas’ dad respects Lucas’ mother to a great degree, while Patrick’s dad is implied to be abusive towards Patrick’s mother.
- Lucas has other friends outside of the basketball team, Patrick does not.
- When Lucas disagrees with the group he’s in, he stands up against them. When Patrick disagrees, he continues to follow along.
Chance and Mike
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We do not know much about Chance, but we do know a few ways he is much different than Mike.
- Chance is a follower. He just goes along with Jason, not questioning any of his decisions. Mike, on the other hand, is a leader. If Mike disagrees with a plan, he makes his opinion known.
- Popularity is likely something important to Chance, whereas Mike states he doesn’t care about that.
Andy and Dustin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay now huge contrasts ahead! Andy is not a nice person at all. I would say he is likely the cruellest out of the basketball team.
- Dustin and Erica continue to increase their friendship/bond. Andy, on the other hand, is so incredibly cruel to Erica that it’s hard to watch…
- Andy is overall very insensitive to others, whereas Dustin is considerate and a good friend.
- Andy (and the others) are easily tricked by Lucas. Dustin is not so easily tricked- he’s observant, often skeptical and good at critical thinking.
Jason and Will
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve NEVER seen these to compared before but there’s actually a lot of contrasts here!
- Jason hates DnD. He views is as satanic! Will, on the other hand, begs his friends to play with him.
- Jason is a leader, easily commanding a crowd of people. Will is a follower.
- Jason is performative… with his relationship and everything. Will is the opposite, he’s very authentic.
- Jason is quick to lash out to others when things bother him, making his problems everyone else’s problems too. Will keeps his problems all inside, not wanting to burden anyone.
- Jason does not forgive Eddie, even when confronted with evidence of Eddie’s innocent, he still refuses to let it go. Will, on the other hand, is so quick to forgive everyone… even when forgiveness isn’t necessarily deserved.
- Jason is quick to be violent when faced with a perceived threat, pulling a gun out on Lucas who isn’t even at all threatening! Will cannot even pull the trigger when faced with an actual threat.
- Jason becomes “split” into two horizontally… Will has imagery of being “split” vertically (Phineas Gage).

I Always Knew | Eddie Munson
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: You fell in love with Eddie over the years. But you feared that he never felt the same way. When you finally break up with Jason and decided your ready to tell Eddie you love him. Your reality is crashed when you catch someone kissing him. Only it's not her he loves.
PAIRINGS: Eddie Munson x Reader, Jason Carver x Reader (brief mentions)
CONTENT WARNING: 18+ MDNI, NSFW, the events of season 4 don't happen (which means Hopper doesn't disappear, no one moves to Cali and reader does know about El and the Upside down), best friends to lovers, both kinda clueless about each others feelings, smut with a plot, unprotected p in v (wrap it before you tap it), oral (f receiving), angst, fluff, a happy ending.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: It was so good to get back to Stranger Things. I honestly missed writing for Eddie. I hope you enjoyed this one shot as much as I enjoyed writing it. The smut could be a little better but I don't write it as much so this is how it turned out.
WORD COUNT: 3.7K
Tumblr media
You had been friends with Eddie Munson from the moment you moved into the trailer park in Hawkins Indiana. Eddie was the first person𑁋other than your father𑁋that you left into your life after your mother. You and your father had moved back to his hometown of Hawkins just months after your mother passed away. You felt stuck, like your feet had cemented to the ground and you couldn’t move forward anymore.
Then one night when you were out stargazing to feel closer to your mother, you met Eddie Munson. From the moment he came over to talk to you, you knew one day that you’d marry him. As the two of you grew older neither of you could be separated from each other. Wayne and Bill𑁋your father𑁋couldn’t separate you two from each other. They both knew collectively from the moment that you met that one day you and Eddie would end up together.
They were shocked that neither of you had come forward and admitted your feelings for each other. But a small rift formed between your friendship when you started dating Jason Carver. You should’ve known better, but Jason had you locked under his spell and you thought it would be a way to move on from Eddie. Here you stood, Jason standing in front of you talking about the basketball game and how positive that they were going to win tonight.
But your mind constantly found its way back to Eddie, no matter how hard you tried to avoid thinking about him, you couldn’t. You especially couldn’t stop thinking about the way he’d feel on top of you. About the way his cock would feel deep inside you. Just thinking about him that way made you wet between your legs.
“Are you listening to me, baby?” Jason questioned, his eyes trained on you. You were pulled out of your delicious thoughts, staring at your soon to be ex. This was your chance, you’d break up with him and then you’d finally go after Eddie hoping that it wasn’t too late.
“No, I’m not.” You whispered, then you sighed. “I can’t do this anymore Jason.” Your voice was steady as you spoke to him. You watched shock slowly morph into his features.
“What are you saying?” You pulled your eyes away from Jason looking around the hallway seeing a few people staring at you two. Almost like they were waiting for the announcement that you were breaking up with him.
A sigh rips from your throat, “What I’m saying is that I’m breaking up with you.”
A shocked noise left Jason’s mouth. “You can’t break up with me, we’re great together.” Jason said, throwing his hands in the air.
“I can and I am. I’m not meant to be with you, I’m meant to be with someone else.”
With those words you turned away from the basketball player and walked away from him as he called out your name. He didn’t however make a move to stop you. As you started on your journey to find Eddie you were stopped by Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will; all of whom were in Hellfire with Eddie. It was nice of Eddie to take the boys under his wing this year, you loved him a little more seeing the way he treated them. They had needed a good role model other than Steve after everything that had happened over the last few years.
But you could all live a normal life thanks to El defeating the Mind Flayer. You wondered where Max and El were considering that they were all inseparable. You were certain they probably weren’t far, or would be joining them soon enough.
“Is there something I can help you with?” You asked, with a raised brow.
“We heard that you finally broke up with Carver.” Dustin said, his smile taking over his face.
“Wow, that happened not even 5 minutes ago and it spread around quickly.” You pause, keeping your eyes trained on the teens. “I did. Why?” A curious expression appeared on your face as you waited for one of them to answer the question.
“Does this mean that you and Eddie are finally going to get together?” Mike asked. All four of them plus everyone else in your friend group including Steve made it very clear to you and Eddie that you both were perfect for each other. You and Eddie were two pieces to the puzzle that fit perfectly together. Never when you were together though, only if you weren’t around each other.
“You four are something, that’s for sure.” You paused, but allowed a smile to break through and plaster your face. “That being said, I was on my way to find him and talk to him. Any of you happen to know where I might find Eddie? I know I should know but I’ve been distracted as of late.”
Even though you’d asked the question, you knew exactly where Eddie would be. But you wanted to make sure just in case you were wrong. He was in the drama room most likely setting up for tonight’s session for Hellfire.
“Drama room!” They all answered excitedly.
“Great! Thank you!”
With a smile still on your lips you turned again and walked in the direction of the drama room. You were more than ready to admit your feelings to Eddie even if it meant you’d possibly ruin your friendship. You opened the door when you reached the drama room, Eddie was already setting up for tonight’s session which you were excited to see. Eddie looked up from what he was doing and smiled at you. His smile sent a warm feeling through your body.
“Hey, I thought you’d be getting ready for the basketball game.” Eddie said, as he looked back down at what he was setting up.
“Uh, actually, I thought I’d skip out tonight and watch your campaign if that’s okay.” Your voice came out soft as you talked to Eddie. But in reality you just wanted to tell him how much you loved him. How you didn’t want to be apart from him anymore. But nothing would come out, your words were lodged in your throat, they wouldn’t move forward.
“Of course, you know you’re always welcome here.”
You walked over to Eddie and sat down in one of the chairs. One by one the boys started to file into the drama room. El and Max were now with them too. Eventually the campaign started and you kept your eyes on Eddie for the most part. You were memorized by how he explained the storyline and the whole premise of the campaign. Things took a turn for the worst when someone else entered the drama room.
All eyes including yours fell onto her, she was so beautiful. You were nothing compared to her, suddenly you felt so self-conscious. You started to fidget with your fingers as you watched the blond walk up to Eddie, interrupting the session.
“Uh, don’t mind me.” She said softly, then proceeded to give Eddie a kiss to his lips, a quick peck.
But that was enough for you to feel your entire world shatter. She sat down next to him and the campaign continued. Eddie took notice of the way your posture and mood suddenly changed. He thought it was odd but shook it off. As the campaign came to a close and everyone started to pack up, you quickly said your goodbyes to everyone except Eddie and the girl that had missed him. With your back to everyone you let the tears roll down your cheeks.
You weren’t upset that you had broken up with Jason. It was better for you, but you had pushed it off too long and now because of that you were too late to get Eddie, the one you always knew you wanted. Climbing in your car you turned it on and drove out of the school parking lot as fast as you could before Eddie had a chance to catch up to you. When you made it home you climbed out of your car and headed towards your trailer. Your dad was outside, a soft warm smile on his face.
“Hi, darling. How was the basketball game?” He asked, curiously.
“I didn’t go. I broke up with Jason because I realized that I’m in love with Eddie. But now I can’t have him because he’s dating someone else.”
You walked up the steps as you answered your father. The door closed behind you as you stepped into the trailer and headed straight for your room. Bill could hear the sadness in your voice. It broke his heart to see you like this. Once you were inside your room you locked the door, collapsed on your bed and let the rest of the tears out.
Days had passed since you broke up with Jason, you’d also managed to avoid Eddie as well. It even included not going to school for those few days. Each day Eddie stopped by your home after school to talk to you, but you weren’t in the right space to talk to him. Your father would send him away saying that you hadn’t been feeling well. But your dad wasn’t home right now and Eddie needed to see you.
He needed to understand why you wouldn’t talk to him. You were curled into your side, your blanket was wrapped around your entire body and you had a horror movie on. You’d normally watch them with Eddie, but you had it on more so for background noise. The sound was up just enough for you to not hear Eddie enter your trailer.
Your eyes were closed and your cheeks were wet with tears. No matter how hard you had tried to stop crying you just couldn’t stop. It hurt too much. Eddie came up to your cracked door and knocked on it softly.
“It’s me, princess.” Eddie called out, voice soft and sweet as you remembered.
“Go away.”
Your voice was hoarse and low. You gripped your blanket tighter. Eddie ignored you, opening the bedroom door and walking in. He closed it behind him, then Eddie pulled his shoes off and climbed into your bed. You felt the dip of your bed and tried to move away. Eddie wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest.
You were desperate to get away from him. The position that you were currently in wasn’t working for either of you. So Eddie lifted you up and turned your body so your back was on your bed. The metalhead pushed himself in between your legs, and you felt yourself stop breathing for a brief moment. Eddie held your hands above your head, suddenly everything was different.
“Why are you ignoring me?” Eddie questioned, a stern look on his face. You looked up at him finally, his brown eyes staring back at you. But there was something different, his eyes were covered in lust.
“I’m not ignoring you. Let go of me Eddie.” You mumbled looking away from him. Eddie removed a hand from your hands, he reached out and grabbed a hold of your jaw turning it back so he could see your eyes.
“Yes. You. Are.” He paused, eyes skimming down your body before moving back up and resting on your eyes. “I want to know why.”
“Because.” You spoke, your bottom lip trembling as you fought back to hold the tears in. You didn’t need to cry in front of him, not like this.
“Because why?” Eddie pressed.
“I broke up with Jason, because I…” You paused, it was now or never.
“You what?” Eddie let go of your hands and pulled away from your body, he leaned down on his knees but continued to stare at you. You suddenly missed his warmth.
“I broke up with him, I couldn’t bear the thought of being with someone who I didn’t love. Not when the person I love is you. And I wanted to tell you, I did, really. But the words got stuck in my throat and then she came in and kissed you and I knew… I knew that I had missed my time.” You pulled yourself up and moved back towards your headboard, then proceeded to wrap your arms around your legs when you pulled them to your chest.
“That’s why you’ve been ignoring me?” Eddie asked as he paused, running a hand down his face. “Look, she was nothing. I told her she could come watch the campaign session, but I swear I hadn’t planned for her to kiss me, okay. That was the last thing I wanted to happen.” Eddie adjusted himself, coming up next to you and wrapping an arm around you. “I always knew, you know. I always knew that I loved you, and deep down I think I always knew that you loved me too. But I didn’t want to ruin what we had over my feelings. I didn’t want to lose my best friend.”
“Oh, Ed.” You stared up at him, his brown eyes glazing over you. Before you could stop yourself you had your lips on Eddie’s and were kissing him with all the passion you had inside you. When you finally pull back from the heated kiss, you just stare at him. “You could never lose me.”
Eddie closed the space between you, his lips found purchase on yours again. His ringed fingers tangled into your hair, palms resting gently against your cheeks as he continued to kiss you. Eddie helped lower you down on the bed, until he was back between your legs. Your hands tangled into his long brown curly locks as he removed his lips from yours and placed them on your neck. He smirked when a soft moan escaped your lips.
The moan encouraged him to suck your skin in between his lips while his hand wandered down your chest. Finally his hand rested on your breasts, squeezing one before moving to the other. He could feel your nipples grow taut after he touched them. Eddie let off of your skin, pulling back from your body slightly. He looked down at your net to see a bruise forming where he had pulled at the skin. His smirk grew bigger as he stared down at your already blissed out face.
“Is this real?” You asked softly.
“It’s real, baby. Lean up.” Eddie said. You listened to his order and leaned yourself up from the bed slightly. “Good girl.” The words were smooth when they left his mouth, you felt yourself clenching your thighs together as Eddie leaned closer and reached for the bottom of your shirt. He grasped the shirt and started to lift it up your body.
Once the shirt was removed from your body you were left in only your bra, and shorts. Your hair fell back down landing on your chest. He threw your shirt onto the floor then reached forward again. His hands rested on your waist and slid up your back. His fingers unclasped your bra and pulled it off your shoulders. Finally he threw it to the floor and gently pushed you back down towards the mattress.
Eddie leaned down and placed kisses on your chest, slowly moving down. You gasped quietly when Eddie took a nipple into his mouth and started to flick his tongue around it. You closed your eyes, happy with just feeling him on you. Eddie pulled his lips from your nipple and moved to the other repeating the same thing. With his free hand he pinched your other nipple between his index finger and thumb.
Another moan slipped past your lips. He smirked at you, pulling away from your breasts and moving down your body. Eddie left a trail of kisses down your stomach until he reached your pussy. Eddie placed his lips on each thigh, avoiding the one spot you needed him most right now.
“Eddie.” You moaned out, lust filled eyes on him. He looked amazingly handsome between your thighs and you couldn’t help the smile that managed to cover your face. “Please.” You added, your voice barely above a whisper.
“So needy, princess.” Eddie whispered, his hot breath hitting your pussy.
He stuck his tongue out in front of your already wet cunt, then you felt his tongue on you. He licked a strip, moving from the bottom all the way to your clit. He sucked your clit into his mouth liking side to side. Gently he lifted a finger to your entrance and pushed a finger in. You tightened around his finger, a groan left Eddie’s lips causing a shutter to run through your body.
The slurping sound from his tongue ran through your ears, another moan left your lips when Eddie added another finger and curled them inside you hitting that sweet spot. You felt your orgasm inching closer with each lick of his tongue on your clit. You threw your head back, hitting your pillows. Your eyes were squeezed shut, mouth gaped open, your orgasm was so close.
“Eddie, please.” You moaned.
Eddie tugs at your clit, and curls his fingers inside again. When Eddie did that you felt yourself tighten around his fingers. Then he started to pick his pace up, pulling his fingers out only to shove them back inside of you.
“That’s it princess, cum on my fingers.” He whispered.
He stuck his tongue out again softly licking your clit. You shuttered, as you came on his fingers. Your moans echoed around the room as the remnants of your orgasm hit you. Eddie rested his head on your thigh, pulling his fingers from your entrance. You watched with blissed out eyes as he sucked your juices off his digits.
“You taste so divine, princess.” A smile fell onto your lips. Eddie pulls himself away from you, he climbs off the bed and proceeds to remove his clothes one by one. Eddie tugs his boxers off, his cock springs free hitting his stomach, pre-cum drips from the tip. He climbs back onto the bed and hoovers over top of you.
You pull your hand to your mouth and spit on it. Then you reach out and grab a hold of his cock and begin to stroke it. A moan leaves his lips at the feeling of your hand on him. He rests his head against yours. He pushes your hand off his cock and grips it, then you feel him tapping his cock against your clit. A strangled moan leaves your swollen lips.
Eddie smirks, he pulls back, placing his cock at your entrance. You watch as he pushes his cock inside of you. Eddie moans as you grip him tightly. Another moan leaves you, Eddie pushes all the way inside and settles there allowing you to adjust to his size.
“Fuck, I’ve waited so long to feel this close to you.” Eddie whispered.
“Please move.” You stared up at Eddie’s brown eyes. You’d waited long enough too and you needed him to move. He could see the pleading look that covered your face. Eddie pulled back just until the tip of his cock was the only thing that remained inside you. Then he pushed forward slamming back into you. Both of you moaned out in pleasure.
You could feel yourself tighten around Eddie’s cock as he continued the pace he was going. The sound of skin slapping skin echoed through the bedroom. Another moan fell from your lips, Eddie leaned forward and kissed them swallowing your moan. Eddie moves his fingers down to your clit and starts circling the bud. He pulls another moan from your lips, it echoes in the room when he pulls away to kiss your neck.
Your orgasm was getting closer. Eddie’s hips slammed into yours. Continuous moans left both your mouths as both of you inched closer towards your impending orgasm. Eddie could feel you getting closer. A smile brightened on his face. You placed a hand down on your bed and gripped the sheets tightly, arching your back.
“Fuck, Eddie.” You moaned.
“Are you close?” He whispered breathlessly.
“So close.” You mumbled. Eddie kept his finger on your clit rubbing in fast tight circles. His cock hitting that sweet spot inside of you.
“You gonna cum all over my cock, princess?” You could only nod your head, words weren’t forming on your tongue. “I want to feel you cum.”
“Eddie.” Another whimpered moan left your lips after breathing his name. He felt his orgasm getting closer, but he wanted to feel you cum around his cock first.
“Cum on my cock.”
You obeyed Eddie, a moan falling from your lips. Eddie felt you squeezing him, he went to pull out, however you gripped onto his arms.
“No. Inside.” The words left your mouth and you watched through dazed eyes as Eddie complied and kept himself inside you. He slammed his hips into you a final time cum releasing inside you. Eddie slowed his rhythm down more until his hips stilled. He stared down at you with bright brown eyes. Lust filled eyes, but still bright.
Slowly Eddie removed himself from you, pulling back and climbing off the bed. You stared up at the ceiling, no thoughts in your mind just the blissful aftermath of your post orgasm. When Eddie returned you gasped feeling something could touch your cunt.
“Just cleaning you up, princess.” Eddie threw the cloth in your close basket. He climbed back into the bed and pulled you onto his chest.
“So, what does this mean now?” You asked, finally breaking the silence after the two of you had settled down into the bed.
“It means your mine.” Eddie whispered, placing a soft kiss on your head.
You tilted your head towards him with a smile so bright Eddie always wanted to see it. “I think I can live with that.” You leaned up to him and kissed his lips passionately.
“Good.” You laid your head down on his chest and fell asleep, at some point he had pulled his boxers on and his shirt. And you had your shirt and underwear back on. Finally he fell asleep holding you. An hour later your dad came in calling for you, when he opened the door he stared at you resting in Eddie’s arms. They were wrapped around your waist tightly.
“It’s about damn time.” He whispered, closing the door and walking back down the hallway.

𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐑 - 𝟑
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie x F!Reader
Summary: There will be a party at your house even if you didn't organize it. The only thing you can do now is invite Eddie and hope he will come.
Part 2
Tumblr media
Friday morning, everyone at school was talking about the party you were having at your house that night. The only problem was, you'd never decided or told anyone you were going to throw a party, much less invite half the school.
You understood what was going on when a girl whose name you didn't even know told you she couldn't wait to come over to your house that night.
You knew whose fault it was.
"Since when do you like parties?" Max asked as she walked next to you towards school with her usual skateboard under her right arm and the sun's rays making her blue eyes shine.
"And I still don't like them." You answered with frustration. "I'm not the one who organized the party."
"Oh, so it's not you who organized the party at your house?" The redhead laughed.
"Max, I swear. It was Aaron, you know, the new one?" You absent-mindedly kicked a pebble in the school parking lot, wondering what you could do to fix that shitty situation that guy had put you in.
"Oh, I know who he is. Everyone seems to be talking about him lately." The redhead answered.
"I can assure you that he's not as perfect as everyone believes. He's quite an asshole, if you wanna know."
"Oh, I knew it!" She exlamed. "I never liked that guy. He looks too much like Jason."
Your gaze fell on a young boy who was looking in your direction, not far from you.
"But I think I know someone you like." You commented with a smik.
"What?" she asked before you nodded at Lucas.
Max lowered her head hiding a smile.
"What are you waiting for? Go to him."
She rolled her eyes.
"Go!" You repeated giving her a light push in a playful way.
"Okay, okay." She laughed as she put her skateboard down and stepped on it with her foot. "See you later, okay?"
"Bye!" You said as she reached Lucas.
You watched them as they walked close and laughed with each other, you wondered if you and Eddie were something like that too. They were cute.
But now you had to suppress all your desire to kill Aaron and try to have a conversation with him.
Tumblr media
"Aaron!" You called to him in the school corridor perhaps a little too loudly, causing some heads to turn in your direction, as you recognized his blonde hair from afar, talking to a fourth year girl.
You grabbed him by the arm, turning him towards you.
As usual, he flashed you the sparkling smile that you so wanted to punch right then.
"What the hell did you do?" You blurted out, clutching your bag in your hands.
"I don't know what you're talking about, honey."
Breathe, Y/N. Breathe.
"First, don't call me that. Second, you told everyone there's going to be a party at my fucking house."
He rolled his eyes, as if it wasn't even his fault.
"I just told a few friends that there was a chance there was a party at your house. And my friends told their friends. And their friends-"
"I get the point." You cut him off. "But I told you I didn't want to."
"And I told you it would be fun. Really, I didn't want to make everyone think there was actually going to be a party. It was just an idea."
"Well, thanks to your great idea, half the school will be at my house tonight."
"I'm sorry okay? I just-"
At that moment you glimpsed Eddie at the end of the hallway, wearing a black sabbath shirt, ripped jeans and making his way through the sea of students.
You liked the way your eyes always managed to find him despite the hundreds of students who went through the hallways of the school every day.
"I gotta go." You suddenly said even if you stopped listening to his words a few minutes before and you walked away from him while he was still talking.
"Hey, wait!"
You've had enough of him for all day.
Tumblr media
Eddie saw you talking to Aaron and he couldn't hide from himself that every time he saw you with him he felt a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach and every time he tried to convince himself it wasn't jealousy.
It couldn't be, you weren't his. You never were and you never would be.
Yet every time you shyly smiled at him in the hallway, tou almost made Eddie believe he might have a chance with you, that things really could have worked out between you despite everything.
Despite the looks and despite what others thought of him.
Even if you weren't his, Eddie was definitely yours. And maybe it always would be.
Maybe he was from the first time he'd seen you outside of school talking to Robin, when he still didn't know your name. Or maybe he was even earlier, since Dustin had mentioned you while they were getting ready for a campaign and he mentioned his ex-babysitter who for three years had helped him and his friends come up with backstories for their characters and also draw them.
"Man, she was doing it because your mom was paying her." Eddie had commented at the time.
"Oh no. It's not just for that, trust me. You should meet her, you'd love her." He had answered.
He didn't know yet that he really would. Maybe even too much.
"Hi." Your voice brought him back to reality, he hadn't even seen you reach him and now you were walking beside him, occasionally brushing your shoulder against his.
"Hey." He smiled. "You have history now, right?"
"Yes. And you too, this time you won't skip it."
"Hey! I don't skip classes!"
At least he didn't do it anymore with history, it was the only class he was glad to be in, just because you were there too.
"Yeah, sure." You chuckled as you moved a little to the left to let a freshman pass.
"I heard there's going to be a party at your house. I didn't think you liked parties." Eddie said as you walked to your classroom.
He had heard people talking about your party too and was surprised because he remembered that when you had told him that you would rather stay at home and watch a movie on the couch than go out.
"Please, not you too." You sighed.
"What?"
"I didn't organize the party."
Eddie raised his eyebrows.
"Aaron told everyone even though I said I didn't want to and now it looks like half of school will be at my house tonight."
Eddie placed a hand on your shoulder softly pushing you aside to prevent you from colliding with a guy who was running down the hall despite the hundreds of signs saying not to.
The gesture was so natural that he almost didn't realize he had done it.
"You know, I don't like that guy." It was the first time he said it out loud to you.
"Yeah, me neither."
Eddie was surprised. Didn't you like Aaron? He even thought there was something going on between you two. Was it possible that he misinterpreted it?
"So, will you come?"
"What?"
"I asked you if you will come to the party."
"I'm not one for parties."
"Well, luckily for you, neither am I."
Eddie chuckled, shaking his head.
"Eddie, please. There's going to be a lot of people I hate and that I don't even know. At least if you come there will be someone I really like."
You said you liked Eddie with such spontaneity and simplicity that he wanted to hear you say it a hundred more times.
"I don't know." He said finally, as you crossed the threshold of the classroom.
He didn't want to disappoint you but he couldn't come.
It was kind of weird being invited to a party after years of no one ever doing it but it was nice to know that you cared enough about him to ask him to come. Thinking about it, maybe kids had stopped hanging out with him when he was in about second grade, when they found out his father was involved in illegal activities.
But he really couldn't and he was sorry. He was sorry because you were the best part of his day and he wanted to hang out with you and spend every single free moment outside of school with you.
But with you. Only with you. Not with everyone else in the school, who would watch and judge and laugh at him when he showed up at an event like a party of a girl like you.
Eddie watched you in amazement as you took the seat next to him in class, it was the first time you'd done so since you'd been late that day.
"Please?" You asked again, Eddie could hear the hope in your voice and his heart ached because he really wanted to, but he knew someone like him couldn't come.
"I'll think about it, okay?" He hated himself for that.
You smiled. "Okay."
I'm sorry. I won't come. I know I won't come. Don't hate me, please. Everyone already hates me. Don't hate me too.
The teacher started talking and Eddie found history rather boring like all the other times, he was spinning a pencil he rarely used for taking notes between his fingers when you handed him a folded note.
He looked at you questioningly and you glanced at the note, as if telling him to open it.
When Eddie did it he nearly burst out laughing.
It was a stylized drawing, done entirely with a blue pen, much uglier than what you were capable of making: on one side there were you two, Eddie immediately recognized the stikman who represented him thanks to the bush of curly hair you had drawn on his head and the one next to him was definitely you.
Your arms were linked and Eddie thought that meant you were holding hands, but he couldn't be sure.
You were both smiling, unlike the others on the opposite side of the page, drawn with no hair and no clothes, with angry expressions and smoke billowing from their non-existent ears.
Eddie was betting that Jason and Aaron were among them, but since they were all the same, he couldn't tell for sure which was who.
Eddie stifled another laugh. It wasn't one of the prettiest drawings you had done but it was definitely the funniest.
"What the hell is that?" He asked in a whisper, a huge grin on his face.
"It's us at the party having fun and not giving a shit about Aaron and the other assholes that will be there."
Eddie's gaze returned to the drawing. It would have been nice to turn that into reality.
"Because you are coming, right?" You asked again.
Eddie looked you in the eye and fuck, it was really hard to say no looking into your eyes.
"Maybe." He finally said.
"Okay. Maybe."
You haven't spoken the entire lesson. When the bell rang you had to run away because you had a test you couldn't be late for, so you didn't see Eddie carefully fold the paper you handed him and close it in the middle of a book.
It would probably be one of the few things he would keep for his entire life.

Chills Right to the Marrow Part 23
part 1, prev part
School was a lot easier now that Max was back. It was better seeing her wheel herself up to the desk in the front corner. The teacher changing the seating chart to allow her to sit where it’s easiest for her to get in and out. And for them to be able to sit around her.
The assignments were getting done. Right as the teachers were starting to be less lenient as the weeks went by. As the people were discharged from the hospitals and the news coverage slowed. As the town started to rebuild and forget.
They don’t have the luxury of forgetting. The sights they’ve seen becoming unfading pictures in their minds. The scars left on all of them never leaving.
Even now, as the cafeteria fills and people sit down, the tables are emptier. Friends leaving seats open for the people still at home. Maybe never coming back.
Dustin stares at the seat empty at the head of the table. Waiting for someone to sit it in again. While Dusting sits with the realization that Eddie might never return to.
April’s already almost over. The school year is coming to a close. The doctor’s still have no prediction when Eddie will be able to leave, let alone when he can come back to school. If he even wants to.
Dustin wouldn’t blame him. It was hard enough to get out of bed to come to school himself, and he wasn’t complete chased by pitchforks. Yet the rest of the basketball team stares at him with torches in their eyes. Ready to start the hunt. He can’t even start to pretend what will happen if Eddie comes back.
It might be best if he just dropped out.
But Dustin can’t think of that right now. All he can think of is how the second half of the table doesn’t fill. As the rest if the Hellfire members have been sitting at another table out of guilt.
He picks up his tray, leaving his friends with questions as he walks over to them. Places it next to Grant and sits down. Silent.
They stop and turn towards him. Faces filled with surprise.
“What,” Dustin says, picking up his sandwich and starting to eat like nothing happened.
“Aren’t you, like, pissed at us or something,” Jeff says carefully.
Dustin shrugs, “Lucas talked to me, you didn’t deserve the way I was treating you.”
Gareth looks at his tray, sheepish. “I mean, we kind of did. We did sell you out. I sold you out.”
He never knew the person who really did it, but Gareth had more bite to him than people expected. Given the situation, he would protect his friends with his life. But he was still human, and humans get scared. Even now, the terror rest in his shoulders, in the way he twirls his fork.
“I don’t know what happened, but I know you guys wouldn’t just give us up without reason. And I’m sorry that I thought you would.” He looks at them, waiting for the apology to stick. For them to know that he means it and wants to go back to normal again.
These guys were never his closest friends, but that didn’t matter. Before Dustin, before the party, these were Eddie’s friends. The people that kept him in school, despite their constant teasing, and encouraged him to even try and get his degree. Instead of just dropping out the first time he had to repeat a year. The people that laughed with him when he stood atop the tables, instead of at him. Who bandaged up the wounds after a fight, either with actual bandages or with booze and reassurance.
They were part of the reason that Eddie was who he is. Dustin can’t stand the fact that he made them think any less of that. So much so that they couldn’t even go visit Eddie in the hospital. When he knows that Eddie would love that.
“I’m sorry about a lot of things,” Dustin continues. Letting the truth slip through more than he meant to.
“We are too,” Jeff speaks up. “This hasn’t been an easy time for us.”
Grant clears his throat. “We don’t even know what happened to him, it was easy for us to think that we caused it.”
“That giving him up to Jason was the reason he almost died,” Gareth finishes. Staring at his food.
Assumptions fill where information lacks. When someone knows the full truth, it’s often forgotten when people don’t. What they’re left to think from the consequences. Not knowing the actions that caused them.
“That’s not what did it.” The words come out with a sharper tone than he means to. But he leans into it. Making sure that they understand it was not their fault. It was never their fault. “Eddie would have gotten hurt either way, it wasn’t because you guys gave us up.”
It certainly didn’t help, and if Lucas wasn’t there, it could have been much worse. But it was never their fault. Eddie made his choice, and Dustin had to learn how to deal with that. Deal with the consequences of an action he had no control in stopping.
Even if that thought haunts him. Even if he wishes there was a universe where Eddie listened to him. Just followed the damn plan through. But he didn’t, and that’s the reality Dustin’s living in.
“He made a decision that got him hurt in the end,” Dustin continues. “I hated that he made it, but it was his own choice that did it. Not you guys, not me. Not anyone.”
The best he can do it make sure that other people understand that this reality isn’t their fault. The blame should never be on them, but the damned people who started this bullshit.
“How is he?” Jeff asks quietly.
Dustin blinks away the wetness in his eyes. “Better. He’s doing a lot better. And I think he’d really like to see you guys sometime.”
“We’d really like to see him,” Grant adds. Looking across the table at his friends. The same look shared in their eyes.
“Do you think he’d be up to seeing us?” Gareth asks, cautious.
Dustin nods. “More than he’d be willing to admit, I think.”
The slightest smile forms, making Dustin know that he did the right thing. For the first time in weeks, he knows that he did the right thing.

-----
He doesn't tell Steve.
There hasn't been a chance to tell Steve, he reasons with himself.
Steve comes back with Robin and Dustin, and has somehow also acquired Lucas and Max. Not long after, Nancy comes by with Mike and El.
He does actually try to hide with Steve in the kitchen while Steve puts together some kind of chicken noodle casserole, but apparently the check in tonight includes how talking with his uncle went, so Eddie has to be too actively involved with it to get a chance to get Steve alone.
By the time everyone's gone, Eddie's exhausted, and he needs to lean on both Robin and Steve to make his way back upstairs.
They've only just made it when the doorbell rings.
Steve groans. "What do those little shits want now?"
Robin laughs at him. "They're your children, Steve," she teases, wrapping an arm around Eddie's waist in preparation for Steve peeling off from them.
Eddie bumps her hip with his, shooting a little grin at her. "You're on shithead wrangling duty tonight," he informs Steve as he and Robin continue on to the bedroom.
"I'm always on shithead wrangling duty," Steve grumbles to himself, but he does head back downstairs.
Eddie assumes one of the party forgot something, and doesn't really think too much of it as he drops down onto the bed, watching Robin start adjusting the pillows.
Or at least, he doesn't think too much of it until he hears Steve call up the stairs.
"Hey, babe? Have you seen Munson hanging around the kids recently?"
Robin freezes, looking at him wide eyed, and Eddie's pretty sure he's holding himself just as still.
Not one of the hoard.
"Stay here," Robin whispers, like Eddie had any intention of doing otherwise.
"Did we join the neighborhood watch or something?" Robin yells back as she heads out of the room, closing the door behind her.
Eddie waits, trying not to vibrate out of his own skin.
Jesus Christ, he's so fucking tired of hiding and waiting.
Fortunately, it's only a few minutes later that Steve and Robin come back, and they look… unhappy, but not terribly panicked.
"It was Jason Carver and the only two lackeys he's got left," Robin says.
Eddie breathes out, relaxing just a little. Not ideal, but better than the police.
"One of them saw your uncle driving away from here with Dustin," Robin continues. "They asked about you, but I think they were just fishing."
"Great," Eddie mutters, flopping back dramatically on the bed. "Should've called me the freak, make it sound like you're on their side."
Steve snorts. "I don't want them to think we're on their side."
Which is sweet, but - "It doesn't matter what they think, Stevie, I'd still know you guys were on my side no matter what you said."
"Aw, Eddie," Robin says, and Eddie looks up at her just in time to see her plop down on the bed next to him, resting her head on his shoulder.
He tips his head away, trying to hide his flush.
"It's not that," Steve says. "If they think we're on their side, it opens us up to having them come around more. They'll loop us into things, sure, which wouldn't have been bad for knowing their next moves, but they'll expect things from us. It's a bad idea when you're hiding here. Plus…"
He trails off, considering, and he's quiet until Robin makes a little hum of encouragement.
"I think Jason's too far gone," he says finally. "But Andy and Eric? They're not as convinced. If I treat this like it's stupid, like there's nothing here and they're wasting my time, like it's boring, they might start to reconsider sticking with Jason on this."
Oh.
"King Steve, huh?" Eddie asks quietly.
Steve shrugs one shoulder, a little too careless. "It's not like I don't still know how to navigate all of that. It just doesn't matter anymore. Everything it means, it's just… pointless."
Eddie looks over at Robin, to find her looking just as contemplative as he feels. Robin looks back at him, and yeah, he's pretty sure she's thinking the same thing he is.
They scoot apart at the exact same time.
"Come here," Robin says, as Eddie reaches out and makes grabby hands at him.
Steve looks between them, giving a little crooked smile, then he kicks off his shoes and climbs up onto the bed, settling in the middle of the two of them.
Robin pillows her head on Steve's chest, and Eddie squishes in so he can rest his own head on Steve's shoulder. Eventually, they'll have to get up and get ready for bed, reconfigure themselves into their usual sleeping arrangement, but for now?
For now, this is perfect.
Eddie's surprised to find he feels good when he wakes up, despite overdoing it the day before.
Knowing that his uncle is safe, that he isn't out there worrying over Eddie - or hating him - is like a massive weight off his chest, makes it a little easier to breathe.
He lets the good mood carry him through getting up and helping make breakfast, refusing to let himself get bogged down in everything he hasn't worked out yet.
Robin is completely on board, it seems, and she and Eddie make a nuisance of themselves while Steve tries to resist getting caught up with them.
A losing battle, when both Eddie and Robin are so determined to distract him. It means some of their pancakes burn while Steve throws chocolate chips at them and they have a competition over whether Robin or Eddie can catch the most of them in their mouths, but it makes Steve laugh and Robin shriek happily whenever she gets a few in a row, so it's worth it.
Eddie likes a little charcoal taste with his breakfast food, anyway, and syrup covers almost anything.
Literally.
Both he and Robin have syrup in their hair, though Robin's is way more obvious, and she bitches at him as she wolfs down her pancakes before heading upstairs to shower.
It's just him and Steve, then, sitting on the ground in front of the coffee table, half eaten pancakes still on their plates, and Eddie feels too good to want to mess this up with any kind of talking.
"She's just trying to get out of helping clean up," Steve grumbles, but he's still smiling, and the morning sun lights him up all golden and gorgeous.
"Wishing you thought of that first, huh, pretty boy?" Eddie teases, all wide smiles and the same reckless thrill he'd gotten hot wiring the camper for Steve to drive.
Steve's smile doesn't slip, his expression doesn't go pinched, but because Eddie's so close to him - because he keeps being close to him, keeps greedily memorizing everything he can about him, his soulmate - he sees the way something shutters in his eyes.
Shit.
Did he push too far, this time? Eddie pulls back, falling hard into straight teasing and away from playful flirting. "Ah, I see His Majesty does not favor being compared to a fair maiden, my mistake. Perhaps he'll forgive-"
Steve is shaking his head, though, cutting him off with, "That's not it."
Eddie raises one eyebrow, a silent invitation to continue.
"It's just - it's always an insult. Like come on, pretty boy, let's see what you've got or wow, it's a good thing you're so pretty, Steve. I know you don't mean it like that, I do, but it's not a compliment when people usually say it, you know?"
Oh.
"I wouldn't know," Eddie says, mostly to buy himself some time to figure out how to really respond to that. "Pretty's not usually something people call me, insult or otherwise."
Now Steve's expression goes pinched, brows drawn down like he's personally offended, and whoops, nope, he can't let Steve go off on that tangent.
"No pretty boy, then," Eddie says hurriedly. "You don't like it, I won't say it."
Steve blinks at him, a little thrown. "…just like that?"
"Just like that," Eddie agrees. "Steve - you don't owe me an explanation about anything, you know that, right? I'll listen if you want to give me one, and it'll probably help me understand, but if I do something that you don't like, you can just tell me, and I'll stop."
Steve considers that for a moment. "I like - this," he says, gesturing between them. "I didn't want you to think I wanted you to stop all of it."
Both of Eddie's eyebrows shoot up this time. Yeah, he kind of figured Steve liked the banter and teasing thing they have going on, or else he wouldn't have continued it, but he didn't expect Steve to flat out acknowledge it.
"All of this is just me being my obnoxious self," Eddie points out, because he can't just leave well enough alone.
Steve rolls his eyes. "Yeah," he says simply. "I like that."
Oh god, Eddie can feel his cheeks heat up, and he ducks his head and hides behind his hair so he doesn't have to look at Steve.
Forget the demobats, his stupid soulmate is going to be the death of him.
"There's plenty of other words besides pretty, anyway," he says, once he's reasonably sure he can nail playful teasing again without sounding flustered. "I'm just going to take this as a challenge to find them."
"Please don't," Steve says dryly, but Eddie can see how hard he's fighting not to smile, and he knows he has him.
"Whatever you say, beautiful," Eddie replies, batting his eyelashes at him.
Steve's ears go a little pink, and oh, that's still just as nice as the first time Eddie saw it. It only makes him latch onto his dumb plan even harder.
"Shut up." Steve shoves him.
"No," Eddie replies, so fucking delighted he can't help but grin all wide and gleaming. "My soulmate's so fucking beautiful it makes me want to weep, look at you."
The pink on Steve's ears deepens, and he gives Eddie a look that is probably supposed to be venomous, but his eyes are gleaming with affection and it only makes him more attractive.
And this is - everything that Eddie's ever wanted, everything that he thinks he could actually have if he asked. After the butterflies, he's more than pretty sure that Steve wants Eddie the same way that Eddie wants him, and more than that - he thinks Steve is brave enough to go for it, even with how messy and complicated things might be.
It's just that Eddie isn't.
He knows he has to stop this, knows he needs to pull back and stop fucking flirting, because it feels like this is it, this is the thing that's leading them both to something else, and god, he can't do something else.
But he can't seem to make himself stop.
Not when Steve keeps looking at him, and Eddie is starting to be able to read him well enough to recognize what these looks mean. He knows that with the way the glint in Steve's eyes has sharpened and the corner of his mouth half turned up, he's thinking of something that Eddie'd probably brushed past and thought he'd successfully deflected. He knows that Steve's about to open his mouth and prove that nope, he still remembers that and he isn't letting that go and -
"Do you mind being called pretty?" Steve asks.
Fuck.
"No," Eddie's saying before his brain catches up with him. "I mean, like I said, wouldn't know. But no, I don't mind it. In theory."
Steve twists a little, upper body turning so he can look at him headlong instead of from the side, planting his hand on the ground for balance - so close to Eddie that if he leaned just a little, he could brush Steve's arm. Steve's other arm is resting on his propped up knee, loose and relaxed. It's stupid, how effective that is, how it opens Steve up to him and creates a little barrier from the rest of the world with his body, like Eddie's got all of Steve's attention now and he's shutting out the rest of the world.
"You are really pretty, Eds," Steve says.
It should sound smooth and practiced. Eddie tries to remind himself that it's a fucking line, that Steve's probably said it to dozens of girls, but when Steve says it now it comes out a little breathy and quiet and so fucking earnest that Eddie's throat closes up.
"I'm sorry that everyone's been too stupid to notice it, or not brave enough to tell you." It sounds just as genuine, and fuck, the way Steve is looking at him. "I'm more sorry that I used to be one of them."
Eddie swallows. "But you're not now?"
"I'm not now," Steve agrees.
Is he closer? Eddie's pretty sure he's leaned in closer, and the hand Steve's got on his knee twitches like he's thinking about reaching in to touch Eddie - maybe Eddie's own knee, maybe he's going to cup his chin and hold him steady as he -
The doorbell rings.
"Fuck," Eddie swears.
Steve's eyes dart toward the stairs, like he's considering going to get Robin out of the shower to answer the door with him again, then he exhales sharply and shakes his head.
"Hide," Steve says.
"Where?" Eddie asks, his heart still pounding, though for an entirely different reason now.
"Anywhere. No, wait, not the kitchen, just - don't tell me where, just go, somewhere I can't see you," Steve replies.
Eddie pushes himself up, darting down the hall to the double doors that have always been closed, and ducks inside them. It's an office, the smell of old leather and dust heavy in the air. He considers leaving the door open a crack so he can hear, but he doesn't want to be too obvious, so instead he just presses himself up against the wood when it's closed so he can try to hear through it.
It's muffled, but he can just pick up the sound of Steve opening the door, an indistinct conversation, and then footsteps down the hall.
"How do you take it?" he can hear Steve asking from the kitchen.
"Just cream, thanks," one voice says, followed by a second saying, "Cream and two sugars."
There's the sound of dishes clanking around.
"Thanks for letting me know," Steve says. "Like I said, I haven't been out of the house yet this morning. Had kind of a late night with my soulmate - she's up in the shower now."
"Do you have any idea who might have done this?" the first voice asks, and Eddie recognizes it now - Chief Powell.
Shit.
"I don't want to put blame on anyone without evidence," Steve says, his voice a little reluctant like yeah, he does have an idea - giving them something to press him for.
The other voice, the one Eddie's guessing is Callahan, immediately jumps on it. "But you do have an idea?"
Steve sighs. "Jason Carver was here last night. I think he's pissed at me for talking in the town meeting, and he kept insisting that I must have been, like, hypnotized into Eddie Munson's cult or something."
"…but you haven't, right?" Callahan asks.
Steve snorts, and Eddie can just picture the bitchy look that he's making. "Come on, really? Eddie Munson leading a cult? The guy failed Zoology because he felt bad dissecting frogs."
That's not completely why, but Eddie can still feel his cheeks heating up. He hadn't known Steve remembered that.
"Look, I feel for him, but Carver wants someone to blame, and it kind of seems like he doesn't care who that is." Steve's voice dips a little lower. "I knew Patrick and Chrissy, you know? Patrick was a good guy, a great basketball player, and Chrissy was nice to everyone. They deserve better, they deserve real justice. I just think Carver should keep his nose out of it and leave the investigating up to the actual professionals."
"Hear, hear," Callahan says, sounding pleased.
It must have not been a lie, but Eddie's pretty sure Callahan and Powell aren't the professionals Steve means.
"Did the neighbors say they saw anyone?" Steve asks.
"Not last night, but they did mention you have quite a few people coming and going," Powell says. "You know who they might mean?"
Steve hums thoughtfully. "Robin Buckley, my soulmate, she's here most days. Nancy Wheeler and her brother are over a lot. Jon Byers, he's visiting from California, and he usually comes with his friend Argyle and his little brother and sister. Lucas Sinclair, he's on the basketball team? And his soulmate Max. Then there's Dustin Henderson, I still babysit him sometimes when his mom's working late. I think it makes her feel better, you know, with everything going on."
"Checks out," Callahan says. "So, are you thinking you want to press charges if we find out it was Carver?"
Steve's quiet for a moment. "No," he says finally. "I meant what I said about feeling for him. Just, maybe talk to his parents? Before he goes too far and does something stupid he can't go back from."
"Good man," Callahan says. "Thanks for the coffee, this is way better than the crap we get at the station."
"Let me make you a thermos to go," Steve offers.
There's more clanking, then the sound of footsteps walking away - though only one pair.
"You don't happen to know where Eddie Munson might be, do you?" Powell asks.
Eddie holds his breath, suddenly and ridiculously afraid that if he even breathes too loud, Powell will know.
"Honestly, I have no idea where he is right now," Steve says.
Powell hums. "If you do see him…"
"Yeah, sure, I'll tell him you're looking for him," Steve says.
"And tell him he's not our top suspect anymore," Powell adds. "We just want to ask him a few questions."
"Sure," Steve says again.
There's a long silence.
"We'll talk to the Carvers," Powell promises, and then Eddie can hear footsteps receding.
The front door closes, locks, but Eddie still waits until he hears clanging in the kitchen again before he steps out.
He finds Steve setting a pair of cups in the dishwasher, a new pot of coffee percolating in the maker.
"Hey," Eddie says.
Steve closes the dishwasher, looking up at him. "You hear any of that?"
"Some," Eddie admits. "What did Carver do?"
Steve breathes out, forearms braced against the kitchen island as he leans forward. "Keyed up my car, smashed my tail lights in. Spray painted a little message on the driveway."
Fuck.
Eddie has to get moving, way too full of nervous energy, so he makes his way over to the cabinet to take out another mug. "What did it say?"
"Does it matter?" Steve asks, sounding tired.
Eddie slams the cabinet door shut. "What did it say."
Steve's quiet, and when Eddie turns around, he finds him looking at him far too closely.
"What?" Eddie demands.
"Eddie," Steve says, pushing himself up to come stand next to him.
Despite himself, Eddie finds some of the tension bleeding out of him. "What?" he asks, softer this time.
"You're my soulmate. Okay? You're my soulmate. It could have said anything, and I wouldn't care. He could do it again, with something else, and I'll be pissed, but I won't regret having you here."
Eddie closes his eyes, rocking back to lean against the kitchen counter. "Stop knowing what I'm upset about before I do," he mutters.
Steve huffs out a little laugh. "No."
"What does it say?" Eddie asks again.
"Traitor," Steve replies.
Eddie snorts.
"Yeah," Steve says.
They're quiet for a moment, and Eddie listens to the sound of the coffee hissing.
"I'm going to turn myself in," Eddie says after a while.
"What? No."
Eddie opens his eyes. "Come on, Steve. If I don't - do you really think Carver is going to stop now? What if he decides just to break in here, huh? What if I can't hide quick enough next time?"
Steve jaw sets, and Eddie can tell he isn't happy about it, but he can't seem to think of a good counter argument. "Then I'm going with you."
Eddie grimaces, but yeah, he'd been expecting that, and he pulls out his trump card. "Only if Robin agrees."
Unfortunately, Robin agrees.
He frowns at her in utter betrayal while Steve gets El to put Hopper on the walkie and gives him a rundown of what happened.
Robin shrugs at him. "You should know by now that Steve's never going to let himself be sidelined when someone he cares about decides to throw themselves off the bench."
"You two and your sports metaphors," Eddie grumbles, but he has to admit - at least to himself - that she's right.
If they tried to stop Steve, he'd probably find a way to come anyway.
Hopper agrees to meet with Murray again today, then come over tomorrow to make a plan for the actual going to the police station part, and Eddie trudges upstairs to call his uncle at the hotel.
Uncle Wayne doesn't like it, Eddie can tell, but like Steve, he can't think of an argument good enough to beat Eddie's, so he just agrees to meet them here tomorrow, too, and makes Eddie promise not to do anything until they all agree on a plan.
Eddie really wishes that he could just get this over with, now that he's decided he's going to do it, but unfortunately, they all have a point.
So he just takes his own shower, gets the syrup out of his hair as best as he can, and tries not to be pissy about more fucking waiting.
When he gets out of the bathroom - Steve's sitting on the bed, clearly waiting for him.
"Hi," Steve says. "Can we talk?"
Shit.
Eddie swallows. "Now?"
"I don't want to keep waiting, man, especially not if we're doing this tomorrow," Steve says.
And yeah, okay, Eddie can't really protest that, so he just nods, sitting on the bed next to Steve.
"It's just - I'm really, really into you," Steve says, his voice soft and low and his eyes warm and earnest. "And it kind of seems like you're into me, too."
Fuck.
Steve huffs out a soft little laugh, running his fingers through his hair. "I mean, maybe I'm wrong, and I have no idea how to tell if a guy's interested in me like I usually can with girls - I'm kind of still new at the guys part - but I thought, you know. What if I'm right, what if I'm missing out on something great? And I figured even if I went for it and I was wrong, you'd be good about it. You wouldn't like, punch me or anything."
"Steve," Eddie breathes out, touched by the sentiment despite the fact that he can already feel his heart breaking over what he knows he's going to have to do. "That's a lot of trust in me there."
"I trust you," Steve says, like it's that easy, no hesitation. "Plus, you know, I'm your soulmate, so you're stuck with me no matter what."
He sounds confident, and if Eddie didn't know him so well, he's not sure he could hear the little hitch in his voice, or see the hint of fear in his eyes.
"You're my soulmate," he agrees, rushing to get that out before anything else. "I'm not going anywhere, no matter what."
Steve shoots a tiny relieved smile at him, leaning in so their shoulders press together. They sit like that for a few moments, silence resting between them - it's warm and cozy despite the tension, like melted marshmallow being stretched longer and longer.
"But?" Steve asks after a bit.
Eddie swallows, running a hand over his face to try to buy him some time while he figures out how to say this without either lying or hurting them both even more.
"You're not wrong," he says finally. "I am into you. Steve, I - I love having you as my soulmate. I wouldn't want it to be anyone else. I'm happy with you, okay? I am."
Steve nods, though his expression has shut down a little, and Eddie can't quite read what's in his eyes anymore.
"But…" Steve prompts again.
Eddie closes his eyes, taking the coward's way out so he doesn't have to look at Steve while he says it. "But I don't think I could handle sharing if we were romantic soulmates."
There's silence again, and Eddie can hear Steve pull in a ragged breath and let it out.
"Okay," Steve says after a while.
Eddie opens his eyes. "Okay?"
Steve frowns at him. "What am I supposed to say?"
"I don't know," Eddie admits. "You could be a little bit of a dick about it? Tell me I don't know what I'm missing, that I could be having the full Steve Harrington experience here? Yell at me for breaking your heart?"
Steve snorts. "There's no full Steve Harrington experience."
Eddie gasps, mock affronted. "There is, didn't you listen to the gossip? I would be most aggrieved if I didn't get it."
Steve rolls his eyes, shoving him. Then, "My heart'll live. You are, shockingly, not the first person who's had to shoot me down like this."
Eddie thinks of Nancy Wheeler, feels his stomach clench a little at being on the same level as that whole mess. "Sorry," he says quietly.
"I mean, I'm not going to pretend like it doesn't suck, but I'm happy with you, too, okay? I want you as my soulmate, no matter what."
Eddie groans. "What did I tell you about saying stuff like that to me?"
Steve gives him a little smile. "I'm still not going to stop."
It's quiet again, not quite like the comfortable silences Eddie'd gotten used to with Steve, but something close.
"So. Boys, huh?" he asks after a while. "Who'd have thought that'd be something Steve Harrington was into."
Steve fixes him with a look. "Boys, huh?" he mimics. "Who'd have thought that'd be something Eddie Munson was into?"
Eddie shrugs one shoulder, conceding. Eddie'd worked very hard to be the freak, to be the type of metal-loving, Satan-worshiping, drug-dealing scary guy that people were afraid would steal their daughter or girlfriend or sister away. Granted, most of it hadn't actually been work, but it still wasn't really who he was.
"Mostly boys," he says, if only to actually say it outloud, to let himself be purposefully vulnerable with Steve even though they both already know. "There's been a few girls-" He tries hard not to think about Chrissy Cunningham's sweet smile and bright laugh. "-but mostly boys."
"Opposite for me," Steve says quietly. "Mostly girls, but - yeah, a few boys."
Eddie's eyebrows shoot up. "A few boys? Steve, are you telling me I'm not the first boy you've had eyes for?"
"Shut up," Steve says, shoving Eddie away when he makes grabby hands at him. "You're the first boy I ever wanted to be my soulmate, but yeah, all right, not my first crush."
Eddie lets himself feel all soft and gooey for a moment before he goes back to hassling Steve to tell him who.
"Ugh, fine," Steve groans. "But you can't tell anyone."
"Cross my heart," he promises.
"Jonathan," Steve mutters.
Eddie's forehead crinkles. "Byers?" He takes the silence as agreement, and grins at him. "What, get a little too into being up close and personal with him when you guys had that fight?"
Steve groans. "No. Believe it or not, I've experienced too much getting knocked around to get off on it, thanks. No, it was after, when we were fighting the demogorgon. Jonathan grabbed my hand to pull me away, and I just kind of instinctively grabbed it back, and then we were holding hands and I just - it was nice. I thought about it later, and realized I really liked holding his hand."
And that, well. Realizing that you like boys because it was really nice when a boy held your hand in the middle of fighting a monster is so Steve that it makes his heart ache, that it kind of makes him want to say fuck it and kiss him.
"Yeah?" Eddie asks instead, wiggling his eyebrows. "Whose hand holding is better, then, me or Byers?"
Steve's expression doesn't change, but his eyes shutter - Eddie can see it now even more than he could when he called him pretty boy, can see the flicker of pain there before he just shuts himself down.
"Oh," Eddie says quietly. "Should I not?"
There's a moment where Steve considers that.
"No," he says after a while. "That was okay. But I think we might have to put a pause on too heavy innuendo, or too many jokes about me wanting you. Just for a little bit."
"Yeah," Eddie mutters, feeling his heart crack a little more. "I can do that." He pulls his legs up, arms wrapped around them. "Sorry."
"It's not your fault, man," Steve says.
Eddie rests his chin on his knees, ignoring the slight sting from the tug of his stitched together skin. "Kind of feels like it is, a little," he admits. "I mean, Robin's okay with sharing."
Or at least, he assumes she is. He knows there's no way Steve would confess romantic feelings for him if Robin didn't know about it or wasn't on board.
"That's different," Steve says.
And - yeah, true. Robin's got another soulmate waiting for her, too, and maybe that makes it easier to share a romantic soulmate.
Steve looks a little troubled, though, and he leans just a little to bump their shoulders together. "I don't - I don't expect you to be Robin, you know that, right? Platonic or romantic, it's different."
Eddie snorts. "Well, yeah, I'd hope things would be a little different if we were - you know." It's half teasing and half serious, and he considers for a moment before adding, "I know you don't expect that."
Steve nods, and Eddie can hear him breathing out, feel a slow release of tension. There's quiet for a little longer, then Steve says, almost haltingly, "I don't… think romantic relationships mean more than platonic. I used to, but, uh. Almost everyone who's ever really meant anything to me has been platonic. Once I got out of high school, and with the Upside Down stuff, I just… I don't know. But Robin and you and the kids - you're the most important people in my life. You always will be."
He doesn't know what to say to that. It touches too closely on what's been pulling him into the party and pushing him away from it this whole time - he doesn't really know how to let people see the real him, not after so long of keeping up his walls to protect himself.
Or he guesses - he doesn't know what to do now that there are people who've seen the real him, and who still want to keep him. Eddie's only ever had Uncle Wayne like that, and he doesn't know how to be important to people, how to be more than just a band member or a dungeon master.
He's terrified of messing it up.
"I'll keep that in mind," he says finally, which seems to be enough for Steve, who bumps his shoulder and then pushes himself up, heading out to go join Robin.
It wasn't a lie, obviously, so Eddie believes that Steve doesn't think romantic soulmates mean more than platonic ones. The thing is - does Eddie believe that romantic soulmates mean more?
And it's.
Yeah.
He does.
Which means he guesses there's more he has to think about.
Eddie: well at least Steve and I are totally on the same page now, now all I have to do is turn myself into the police and reevaluate my opinions on platonic and romantic soulmates, sounds good
-----
Part 22
Steve: wow I am 2 for 2 on confessing to my soulmates and getting gently shot down, platonic for life it is

Part III of the Steddie soulmate AU concept where the first thing you ‘say’ to your soulmate is written on the inside of your wrist
Part I: Eddie
Whenever he plays his guitar, Eddie feels invincible, like he can do anything - create or destroy, the world belongs to him. Kissing Steve Harrington feels very much alike, but intensified tenfold, not that he’d admit that, ever. Or maybe just not yet, it feels too soon and too reckless to do so.
He’s getting addicted, he thinks. To kissing him. To Steve.
They pull apart, Steve tucking in a loose strand of hair behind Eddie’s ear.
“You want something to eat?”
Eddie grins and lifts his clenched hand, moving it up and down. Yes. And because there is so much more he wants to say but can’t yet, because he’s filled with so much of something he’s not ready to name at the sight of Steve’s genuine smile blooming on his face, Eddie leans over to bite his boyfriend’s cheek. Realizing what he’s done, he pauses, Steve’s soft cheek still between his teeth before slowly retracting.
“Sorry,” he mumbles then promptly realizes Steve can’t hear him. With shaky fingers he quickly tries to find the correct phrase in the ASL book he’s been trying to familiarize for the last hour and a half. It’s not so easy, he’s never been good with this, with sitting still and memorizing shit but for Steve he wants to. He wants him to feel comfortable and included, he knows by now how Steve’s insecurities with losing his hearing weigh on him more than he’s willing to admit. Eddie doesn’t even know yet how that happened in the first place.
Half-way through the motion to tell Steve he’s sorry again, a warm hand pulls onto his. Steve chuckles. Eddie wants to hear this sound forever.
“Guess you are more hungry than I thought,” Steve says carefully but with a fond look on his face, cheeks red. He gives Eddie’s hand a brief squeeze before slinking off into the too-white, too-pristine kitchen.
And Eddie…doesn’t know how to deal with that, exactly. He knows soulmate’s are supposed to be this – this perfect second half, someone who gets you through and through and all that shit, and yet the doubt is still there, lingering. He’s waiting for the other shoe to drop, for Steve to deem him ‘too weird’ or ‘too difficult’. But where Eddie expects a frown or a biting remark there’s… Steve, often bitchy and stubborn as hell, but kind, so kind, and honest in his abundant affection.
A plate of pasta appears before him, smelling heavenly – infinitely better than microwave mac n’cheese he probably would have eaten if he were at home. Steve settles by his side, careful not to dirty the DnD manual he’s been reading while Eddie did his own deep-dive.  Bringing his two fists together, Eddie moves his thumbs down and up twice. Sweetheart. The blush and the grin he gets in return is so very worth it.
He's about to shove a first forkful of pasta into his mouth when Lucas Sinclair of all people bursts through the front door of the Harrington residence at 11 p.m. on a Friday, pupils blown and struggling to catch a breath.
“Code…red,” Lucas pants out, hands on his knees for a second before he moves them to sign to Steve.
“What happened?” Steve’s words are accompanied by frantic movements of his hands asking the same question. Eddie watches Lucas swallow and there’s a heavy feeling pooling at the bottom of his stomach.
“Chrissy Cunningham. She’s…dead.”
 *cue Stranger Things intro*
What I imagine for this AU is because Eddie didn’t meet up for her for the deal, she went to meet Jason at the party instead. Inevitable comes, still, and Chrissy dies, this time during that party, and this time it’s Lucas that witnesses it.

Girl from the Band 1 (Yandere!Jason Carver x Band Geek!Reader)
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: dark, yandere, non-consensual intimacy (next chapter), maybe death (haven't decided yet), violence
This was random but honestly I think Mason Dye is a very handsome man so I really wanted to make a Jason Fanfic
Alternate AU but still 80's, No upside down fantasy stuff.
(Y/N) held her trumpet at attention while during the anthem which was sung by a previous student that has since graduated. Y/n rolled her eyes; she remembered Tammy Thompson from a science class long ago.
"This girl has no talent, why are they letting her perform?" y/n said under her breath but a laugh to her left caught her attention.
Robin Buckley shook her head with a smile on her face. For some reason, this made y/n feel warm. She was happy that she had made someone smile, even though she barely knew Robin and Robin's group of odd-ball friends outside of band.
How weird that Robin hung out with Steve Harrington; a man that graduated last year but still hang out with high school kids. Y/n shook her head, feeling sour at her own bitchy thoughts. People are allowed to have friends and just because she didn't have any, didn't mean she could judge everyone else for it.
When the game ended, all of the Hawkins Students fled to the courtroom to celebrate with the Basketball team on their win. Specifically, everyone cheered for Lucas Sinclair who'd made the winning shot and even though Y/n wasn't much of a participator; she found herself cheering along with her classmates.
It was until an object bounced infront of her, pulling y/n out of her own daze. A basketball had flown its way to her and one of the players rushed to her to collect it.
Jason Carver was a handsome guy. A classically handsome highschool athlete you'd see in any John Hughes movie. Y/n felt her cheeks warm at the thought of him coming towards her, looking her in the eye. It was an intimate feeling that she wasn't use too. She felt weak not wanting to look him in the eye but felt she lacked the type of beauty he'd want to look at.
"Sorry about that; it's the championship game-ball and we lost it in the celebration." Jason said, grabbing the ball from y/n's feet.
His voice was deep and warm; his damp hair sticking to his moist skin reminded her of a model posing by the sea. He was a dream and she lived in reality.
"It's okay." Y/n said, staring at the ground. She didn't feel like making eye contact.
Jason chuckled while heading back to his team; he'd seen this girl before but had no interest moving forward; his girlfriend was the queen of Hawkins High anyway. Chrissy Cunningham. For some reason, she was nowhere to be seen since the ending of the game.
The following week, Y/n had noticed Jason's demeanor change. Once a confident, prideful man to callous, irritated ass. You'd think he'd be at his best since the big win but instead he's acting like he lost completely. In Jason's perspective; he did.
Chrissy Cunningham had been hand in hand with one of Jason's basketball friends down the hallway. Clearly, they were still in the honey moon stage of their affair. It wasn't an adult kind of affair; Chrissy had broken up with Jason the night of the game for someone who'd swept her off her feet in his absence.
Y/n kept her opinions to herself, even during lunch when the loud whispers from all the lunch room increased at either Jasons or Chrissy's appearance. However, even with an increased attitude Jason kept his cool. He had to; his reputation depended on it. Sure, his first real love tore out his heart and stomped on it on what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of his life; but he considered himself the man of the school. He'd be damned if he didn't hold his head up high and looked for a replacement soon.
If Chrissy could move on within seconds, so could he. He felt himself getting heated; looking at the other girls in the school. While they werent Chrissy, he knew he could find someone to love him just as much. There were 2 obstacles;
There was only 1 Chrissy Cunningham.
He'd have to pick someone who respected his position as top-dog but it seemed like most of the girls in school were laughing at him now.
It was Study Hall. Y/n had been planning out an idea. She didn't want to graduate this year without doing something new and had been researching DnD for the past few months. There was a Dnd club called Hellfire ran by an eccentric classmate of hers' Eddie Munson. Yeah he was cute too. But Y/n didn't WANT to think about that; she just wanted to do what she wants and then graduate. Don't cause attention, don't put yourself out there. Those were her rules.
However; it wasn't up to her to not stand out as Jason Carver had remembered her genuine shyness from gameday. It was cute and honest. So many girls in school pretend to be cool or bitchy to seem higher class without realizing that they were just unpleasant rather than interesting.
Looking at her, Jason really believed there was something there and was determined to make her his arm piece for the rest of the year. In the deepest parts of his mind he decided y/n had no choice.

A sad frown settles on Eddie’s face when he sees the look in your eyes. You hate it, you hate the way more scars mark your body. You don’t even wince in pain when the nurse applies gauze to your healing wounds, you just stare down at yourself with a sad look on your face.
You don’t meet his eyes and his expression falls further. You don’t just hate the way you look now, you are also scared of what he will think of you now. Will he still think that you’re beautiful? The thought of you worrying about something like that, breaks his heart. There’s nothing that could make you any less beautiful.
“Alright, take it easy, yeah? No moving around too much, got it?” the nurse says with a pointed look on her face.
You nod, smiling at the older woman.
“We’re gonna give you a few appointments for further checkups.”
“Alright.”
“So she’s okay?” Robin asks the nurse.
“She’s okay,” she nods.
“And what about the baby?”
You snap your head towards Robin, confusion written all over your face as you stare at your friend.
Eddie scratches the back of his neck, chuckling.
“What baby? Are you pregnant?” the nurse asks, furrowing her brows as she looks down at her clipboard.
“What? No!”
The nurse reads through your chart with a confused expression on her face.
“How are you so sure about that y/n?” Robin asks, tilting her head.
Shaking your head, you turn to look at Eddie who stares back at you, blushing. You raise your brows at your boyfriend.
“I don’t see anything about a pregnancy here,” the nurse mumbles as she flips to the next page.
“Are you sure? I mean they’ve been going at it like rabbits!” Robin exclaims “and without protection!”
“Robin!” you and Eddie exclaim at the same time, both blushing in embarrassment.
She only smirks, enjoying the embarrassed looks on your faces.
“Jesus,” you mumble.
The nurse looks between you two, sighing “aren’t you a little too young to become parents?”
“Yeah but I’m not pregnant so…” you shrug.
“You will be if you don’t start using the condoms Eddie’s uncle gave him.”
You squint your eyes at Robin. How does she even know– you turn to look at your boyfriend who only grins at you. You sigh.
“I’m too old for this.. you two better not be back here in 9 months.”
Eddie looks at the older woman, grinning “why not? We do want a big family, might as well start early right?”
She raises her brows at him, shaking her head.
“A big family?” you gasp.
“You want the six little nuggets that Steve dreams of?” Robin chuckles.
“Yeah, totally, gonna have a band with the fam, the new corroded coffin,” Eddie grins at her.
A small laugh falls from your lips, shaking your head at your boyfriend's words.
“Are you ready to be a dad, Eddie?” Robin asks, a skeptical look appearing on her face.
“Of course I am,” he shrugs “I’m babysitting Dustin all the time.”
“Dustin is a teenager and you don’t babysit him, you two are friends!” Robin argues, throwing her hands up.
Eddie scoffs and waves her off, looking back at you “we’d be the coolest high school parents.”
“How about you graduate first, kids?”
You nod with wide eyes “yeah, I totally agree with you here,” you say, looking at your nurse “I’m free to leave now, right?” you ask, wanting to get out of the hospital quickly. After two weeks here, you were already going crazy. Not only were you bored out of your mind, you also had too much time on hand, something that led to you overthinking things.
Is Vecna truly gone? Is the upside down truly gone? Is your brother gone? You don’t know much about him, only that him and Jason were both arrested the night they attacked Lucas.
You rarely spend a moment alone here though. Eddie was by your side 24/7, it was difficult to convince him to take a moment to himself and shower or eat, he didn’t want to leave you alone, not even for a moment.
Steve came by every day, just like he did back then. Will and Dustin spent a lot of time with you, they brought you magazines and your favorite snacks. Will and El picked flowers for you, though the bouquet wasn’t as big as the one that Wayne brought you when he came to visit you.
-
The sun is shining, kissing your skin. You breathe in the fresh air and you smile happily. You missed it, the fresh air, the warm breeze, all the pretty flowers. You were cooped up in that room for two weeks but it felt like two years.
“I’m so happy.”
Eddie smiles as he turns to you after putting your bag into his van. He takes your hands in his and pulls you closer to him, kissing your cheek “so am I,” he whispers as he stares at you with loving eyes.
“You are?” you ask as you intertwine your fingers with his.
“I am,” he nods, “of course I am, sweetheart.”
He almost lost you, he thought he lost you and he wouldn’t know what to do with himself if he did.
“My beautiful girl,” he whispers, reaching up to tuck your hair behind your ear, thumb lingering on your cheek, he looks into your eyes, the ones that hold his favorite color “you have no idea how happy you make me.”
“You have no idea how happy you make me,” you whisper, stepping closer to him “now kiss me.”
“Gladly,” he mumbles against your lips before he kisses you with so much softness. You close your eyes and sigh as you melt into his touch, butterflies erupt in your stomach, the feeling of his lips against yours will never fail to make you feel weak in the knees.
“I’m excited,” you whisper as you pull away from the kiss.
“For what?” he smiles.
A sheepish smile appears on your face as you lean closer, “for you to fuck me when we’re home,” you whisper.
His eyes widen and a smirk appears on his face “oh baby, you can’t just say that,” he growls “I’m gonna get a fucking boner in this parking lot.”
You giggle and press yourself against him, his hands settle on your waist gently.
“Disgusting!”
You pull away from each other, both turning to look at Robin who looks at the two of you with a disapproving look on her face causing you both to laugh.
“You literally just got out of the hospital, what’s wrong with you two?” she asks, shuddering “can’t even go two weeks without touching each other?”
Eddie clears his throat, scratching the back of his neck while you look away with a blush on your face, refusing to answer her question, you step away from Eddie and without looking at him or Robin, you get in his van, wanting to avoid the awkwardness of this situation.
Robin raises her brows as she looks at you, taking in your reaction, she tilts her head as she looks back at Eddie “wait a minute,” she mumbles “did you… in the hospital… while she is injured!?”
“Whoa slow down, Buckley, we didn’t fuck, okay?” Eddie chuckles with a red face “I just made her feel a little better, if you know what I mean,” he winks.
She groans, shaking her head “what is wrong with you?”
He chuckles, reaching for his pack of cigarettes, he takes one out but just as he places it in between his lips, Robin steps forward and snatches it out of his hand “not in front of the baby!”
“There is no baby, Robin!” you call from the car before you mumble some incoherent words.
“You heard the lady, there is no baby,” he pauses, smirking “yet.”
He shakes her head at him, chuckling “I can’t wait to see you with an actual baby, you’re gonna freak out once it starts crying.”
He nudges her shoulder “hey, I’m gonna be a good dad,” he frowns “now get in the car, Buckley.”
“Nah, Nancy’s picking me up, we’re gonna get some more stuff for later.”
-
“This is not the way to your trailer, Eddie.”
“I know.”
You furrow your brows, watching him with a confused look on your face. He smiles at you as he reaches for your hand.
“You said we’re going home.”
He nods “we are.”
“Are we going to the store first or something?” you ask but Eddie drives past the supermarket “okay, guess not,” you sigh.
He chuckles, squeezing your hand “this was meant to be a surprise but it’s not much of a surprise anyways, I guess.”
“A surprise?”
“Yeah,” he smiles. “I uh– you know how we talked about moving into the apartment?”
“Yeah..” you trail off, a smile tugging at your lips already. Eddie’s eyes flash with excitement, he squeezes your hand even tighter. Stopping at a red light, he turns to you “well, I talked to your uncle and he said we could move in, like actually move in.”
Eddie watches your face contort into excitement, a large smile appearing on your beautiful face. Eddie never wants to be away from you again, he wants to spend every passing second with you. He wants to wake up with you in his arms and go to sleep with you in his arms.
“We are moving into the apartment? Like now? Today?” you ask, smiling.
He hums, grinning at you as he brings your hand up towards his lips, placing a gentle kiss on the back of your hand.
Your heart swells with love, your eyes soften as you look into his eyes “I love you so much,” you whisper as you bring his hand up to your lips, kissing the back of his hand just like he did to you.
“I love you more, sweetheart.”
You had a smile on your face for the rest of the drive home. You had a feeling in your chest, not the kind that you had before the fight against Vecna— that one was nasty, it was weighing you down, leaving you with nothing but fear and worry. You were anxious about what was going to happen and you realized that you had every reason to feel that way but now, you have a very different feeling in your chest. You feel free, light and happy. You know that everything will be okay.
You reach for your bag after getting out Eddie’s van but he stops you immediately, appearing next to you, he puts his hands on your shoulder “what do you think you’re doing?” he grumbles in annoyance, giving you a small glare as gently pushes your hands away, grabbing your bag himself.
“Eddie,” you whine, tilting your head “it’s not even heavy!”
“It is for you, you’re injured! You’re supposed to take it easy,” he says with a disapproving look on his face.
“I am!”
“Really?” he mumbles, closing the door, he grabs your hand “‘cause you were about rip open your wounds again!”
Scoffing, you shake your head “by carrying a bag?” you chuckle.
“It’s not just the bag, you tried to open that heavy door at the hospital– you’re driving me mad, woman..” he mumbles.
Eddie was always protective over you, even before all of this but now he’s treating you as though you’re the most fragile thing in this world. He touches you gently and carefully, worried that he might hurt you. He won’t let you pick up or carry anything heavy, he doesn’t let you out of his sight, scared that something bad will happen the moment he looks away– as though you are still in the upside down, surrounded by monsters.
It’s sweet, the way he treats you with so much gentleness and love. But you don’t want him to worry so much, you don’t want him to feel like he will lose you if he steps away for more than five minutes.
“Home sweet home, baby.”
A gasp falls from your lips as you look around the apartment which looks different from how it was when you left it that one night. While you only had a mattress to sleep on then, you now had actual furniture and decorations and even a small tv. You step inside, your eyes flicker with surprise and happiness.
Eddie watches you with a small smile on his face, leaning against the door after closing it.
You look around, recognizing some of the things from Eddie’s room and then your eyes fall on a door you haven’t seen before. Your eyes flicker with curiosity as you stare at it “what-”
“There’s a bedroom,” he says.
“Wait what?”
“Yeah, no one knew,” he chuckles “not even Dean. That ugly big shelf was standing right in front of it, it was there since he bought the building.”
“Oh wow,” you mumble in surprise. He places your bag on the floor before he walks towards the door and opens it, turning to you with a grin “our bedroom.”
You giggle as he wiggles his brows at you, walking towards him, you walk past him but he grabs you and steals a kiss from you before he pulls you into his chest as he wraps his arms around your stomach as you look around “that’s your bed,” you point out. He hums, leaning his chin against your shoulder.
Eddie already put some of his posters on the wall, along with the corroded coffin one, of course. His guitar got the best place in the room, of course. A few pictures of you and your friends are on the wall. Eddie chuckles as you eye one picture in particular, the frame hangs unevenly on the wall.
“That was Max, she refused to accept anyone’s help and hammered the nail in with her broken arm.”
You laugh “of course she did.”
“By the way, Wayne and Steve found this room.”
“Wayne and Steve?” you ask as you turn to look at him.
“Yeah, they helped– I mean, everyone helped. See that painting over there?” he asks, pointing to the framed painting on the wall. Two small figures stand in the middle of a large field, dancing under the moonlight “Will made it for you.”
“Really?” you whisper, eyes softening.
“Yeah,” he smiles, squeezing your thigh “do you recognize it?”
You glance at him before you look back at the painting. Your heart swells in your chest. Of course you recognize it. Not only does the long hair on the taller figure give away who it is, you also recognize the field. It’s the one Eddie took you to on your first date. He turned on the headlights and turned on forever young by Alphaville and asked you for a dance. A night you would never forget.
“Of course, it’s us,” you breathe, turning to him with a smile on your face. Furrowing your brows “how..”
“He asked for ideas and I thought that that would be cute.”
“It is,” you whisper “I love it.”
For a moment, neither of you speak. You just gaze into each other’s eyes. Happy to be here, happy to be here together, in your home. Two weeks ago it all seemed like an unrealistic dream when you felt death creeping closer but you made it.
Eddie cups your cheek, smiling softly. He is happy, he can’t even begin to describe just how happy he is. Eddie used to be scared of the future, he used to be terrified. The uncertainty of what the future would bring made him sick to his stomach. Perhaps that is the reason why he hasn’t graduated yet and why he hasn’t left high school yet. He wasn’t ready for all the responsibilities that adulthood would bring, he wasn’t ready for all the decisions he would have to make because he would have to make them all alone but it’s not the case anymore, now he has you and a future he is actually excited for.
“This is our apartment now, can you believe that?” he asks, eyes flickering with excitement “we’re gonna wake up and go to sleep together. We’re gonna spend our birthdays here, thanksgiving and christmas. We will make our own traditions, throw parties but,” he pauses, bringing his hand up “only with our friends!”
Chuckling, you nod in agreement.
“We’re gonna learn how to cook and we will totally fuck up our first christmas dinner but that’s totally fine.”
You laugh “we’re gonna invite Wayne and Dean–”
“And Steve,” Eddie smiles, surprising you “I-I know that you and Steve always spend Christmas together and I don’t wanna take that away from you or him and I hate the thought of him spending Christmas all alone in that empty house.”
Steve told him how you would spend Christmas at his place. Instead of a big feast, you two would order pizza and eat a bunch of cookies that you would bake before watching christmas movies all night. It was your own little tradition.
“You’re the best,” you whisper, raising your hand to brush your fingers through his curls, you lean closer and press your lips against his “the best boyfriend–”
“Fiance,” he corrects you with a stern look.
"Right,” you giggle,  “the best fiance, the best future husband, the best future dad.”
His heart flutters at your words, eyes softening as he melts into your touch. He feels weak in his knees, his skin feels warm beneath your hands, he feels free and light, he feels like he’s in heaven when he is with you “god.. y/n, do you have any idea what you do to me?” he murmurs as he kisses your lips again.
“No but you can show me,” you whisper seductively.
“Oh yeah?” he smirks, leaning down to kiss your neck “I will, baby.” He continues to kiss your neck, you close your eyes, a pleased sigh leaving your lips as you lean into him “Eddie…. Eddie, I missed you.”
He hums, pulling you closer “I missed you too,” he mumbles against your skin.
You were together all the time, he rarely ever left the hospital and the times he did, he was away for less than two hours and that was only to work on the apartment with Wayne and the others but you still missed each other, you missed being alone, at home.
You tug on his hair, sighing as he begins to suck on your skin “Eddie, I want you,” you whimper as you reach for his belt. A growl escapes his lips as you start to palm him over his jeans “oh baby… y/n,” he sighs as a wave of pleasure washes over him “I need you… now.”
You smirk at him as he raises his head, just as he’s about to slam his lips back against yours, a loud knock at the door startles you both and you pull away from each other, sighing in annoyance.
“Guys?” Dustin yells from the other side of the door as he continues to knock on the door “we got pizza!”
You are happy to see your friends but you wish they would have came an hour later. Looking down at Eddie’s bulge, a teasing look appears on your face and you can’t help but chuckle when Eddie groans as he falls back against the pillows on the couch “don’t say anything, please.”
“You can make out later, open up!” Max says, banging her fist against the door.
-
“Do you like it?” Will asks “the painting?”
“I love it, Will,” you smile “thank you, it’s perfect. I always knew you were talented but I didn’t know just how talented you really are.”
He blushes as he looks down, “I’ve practiced a lot,” he shrugs.
“Well it surely paid off, good job buddy.”
“He’s good isn’t he?” Jonathan asks, ruffling Will’s hair as he walks past him and flops down on the couch next to you.
“Very! Look you could become the super successful and famous brothers; the photographer and the artist.”
Jonathan and Will both chuckle.
“What about you, what are you gonna be?” Jonathan asks, nudging your shoulder. You used to be best friends, growing up together meant that you knew everything about each other and something that Jonathan definitely knows is that you never really knew what you wanted to become “you figure it out yet?”
You sigh, shaking your head. Looking over to Eddie, you smile as you see him talking to Steve and Argyle who you had finally met in person after you had heard his voice in the background whenever you talked to Jonathan on the phone.
“I guess I’m just gonna graduate and maybe work with my uncle?”
“You wanna work at a bar for the rest of your life– I mean there’s nothing wrong with that, I just see you do something different,” Will says with a concentrated look on his face.
You raise your brows “like what?”
He shrugs “I don’t know.. you could be a police officer, wait, the future chief of Hawkins!” he smiles, “you remind me of Hopper.” he adds.
Jonathan laughs and you join him. You didn’t think you would ever be compared to the former chief. You were more than surprised to find out that he is alive, seeing him with your own eyes made you question if you were actually alive or if you had died and shifted over to another reality where both you and Hopper were both alive and well but you didn’t die and neither did he.
“Listen, Hopper is nice and I like him but really? What about me reminds you of Hopper?”
“You’re always the first to jump into danger, just like him,” Will says and Jonathan nods. “Yeah, you see death and you just run straight towards it.”
You snort, looking at him with a confused look on your face “that’s not true!”
Jonathan tilts his head “are you sure about that?”
Scoffing, you cross your arms over your chest and lean back.
Will chuckles “you’re also very protective of the people you love and you would do anything to save them.”
“Yeah.”
“And you’re funny sometimes.”
You gasp, looking at Jonathan with an offended look on your face “sometimes?”
“Don’t listen to him, you’re always funny.”
You smile, throwing your arm around Will’s shoulder “see and this is why I like you more, you’re the cooler brother.”
He laughs, “I know.”
“Oh and here I was about to give you free weed,” Jonathan tells you, causing you to laugh.
“Dude, I have my own weed man,” you joke.
A smirk tugs at his lips and he turns to you with a teasing look on his face, one that tells you that you will have to listen to an endless ramble and a lot of ‘I told you so’s’.
“Right, y/n. Your own weed man who is your boyfriend, who could’ve been your boyfriend years ago already.”
You roll your eyes playfully “yeah…yeah.”
“You were both idiots, you know that right?”
Will gives Jonathan a disapproving look “don’t call her an idiot, she’s not an idiot.”
“Yeah, don’t call my girl an idiot, dude,” Eddie says from the other side of the room.
“Why are you listening in on our conversation?”
Eddie opens his mouth to say something when Argyle throws his arm around his shoulder “hey Jonathan, I found a new best friend, I’m ditching your ass for this rockstar,” he jokes.
Shaking your head, you snort as they begin to bicker with each other.
“I’ll be right back,” you tell Will, you get up and gather some of the dirty dishes on the table and make your way into the kitchen. Putting the plates into the sink, you’re about to start washing when a gentle hand clasps your shoulder.
“I’ll wash, you dry,” Steve says, reaching for the towel, he places it in your hand.
“Okay,” you smile, leaning against the counter, you take a look at him.
Unlike two weeks ago, he looks well rested. The dark circles under his eyes are gone, his hair is perfectly styled, again. A gentle smile rests on his face. It makes you happy.
For a moment, the kitchen is filled with comfortable silence, you hear the chatter of your friends from the other room, Eddie’s laugh fills your ears and you smile, you are content and happy in a way you never thought you would be.
“Steve?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you,” you say, taking the last plate from his hands, you dry it with the towel before you put it in the cabinet.
“What are you thanking me for, y/n?” he asks, his brows are drawn together as he turns to you, leaning against the counter, he reaches for the towel in your hands to dry his hands.
“Everything,” you shrug, glancing up at him.
“Y/n, you already thanked me in your letter, remember?” he sighs, softly.
Your eyes widen “you read it?”
He chuckles at the shocked expression on your face, turning away from you he nods “yeah, like ten times.”
The first time he read it, he could barely make out your words, his eyes were filled with tears, leaving his vision blurry, it took him some time to calm down and when he did, he read it all over again.
‘I’m sorry I couldn’t give you what you gave me.’
A sentence that kept repeating itself in his head. You gave him everything and you don’t even know it.
Your eyes soften as you look into his eyes, the ones that are clouded with sadness. A smile plays on his lips though. Steve will always have a special place in your heart, no matter what.
“You should hate me.”
The smile falls from his lips and his face grows serious “what?”
“You should hate me,” you repeat, “I don’t get why you don’t. I broke your heart and you’re still so nice to me and do all these things,” you say, raising your hands, “you helped with this apartment, mine and Eddie’s apartment. Hell, if I was in your place, I wouldn’t be able to be around the person I’m in love with, watching them be happy with someone else and being okay with it. I would probably leave my broken heart behind and run away.”
“Are you telling me to run away?” he chuckles, eyes softening at the sight of your glassy eyes.
You shake your head “no, please don’t.”
“I would never leave my best girl.”
A small smile appears on your face “you totally mean Robin, right?”
Steve rolls his eyes and chuckles “oh no, she would totally follow me and sneak into the trunk while I’m distracted and once we’d be two states away, she would let me know that she’s there.”
You can’t help but laugh.
“Yup, that sounds like her.”
“Yeah,” he whispers, smiling.
Steve sighs as he finds himself looking into your eyes again. How could he ever hate you?
“You know I could never hate you, right? You’re my best friend and I’m okay with just being your best friend– I mean that is if you still want me ‘cause Argyle could definitely take my place, that guy is pretty funny, I’m not even gonna lie, Jonathan has good taste when it comes to friends,” he says, rolling his eyes.
Shaking your head, you giggle. You have to admit, Argyle is funny and a nice friend.
“I’m pretty happy with you being my best friend.”
“Yeah?” he asks, smiling.
“Yeah.”
“Good because I’d have to fight whoever tries to steal my place and you know I’m not a good fighter.”
You furrow your brows, holding your hand up “uh I beg to differ, you won a fight against Seth and that russian guy.”
“Eh yeah, I guess,” he chuckles.
You look into his hazel eyes and smile, Steve was always the one who was there no matter what, he brought you comfort when you needed it the most. He held you when you cried because of Eddie, he held you when you were scared after a nightmare, he held you after getting into a fight with your parents, you feel like you don’t deserve him but you are happy to have him in your life, you couldn’t ask for a better best friend.
Eddie’s voice snaps you out of your thoughts, he calls your name. Giving Steve one last smile, you’re about to leave the kitchen when he stops you with a gentle touch on your hand “hey y/n?”
“Yeah?”
He takes a deep breath, his eyes meet yours “I gave you my heart knowing that you would never love me the way you love him and that’s okay. Deep down I always knew that I could never have a chance with you, I saw the way you looked at him– the way you looked at each other and I chose to ignore it. I didn’t care what would happen, I didn’t care that I would never have your heart, that I would never have what you have with him. I just wanted you to have my heart,” he pauses, looking down at your hand “even if you could give it back, I wouldn’t want it. My heart is yours, forever.”
“Steve..” you sigh sadly.
“I know.. I know. I’m not trying anything here. I just needed to say this, I know you feel guilty, I can see it in your eyes whenever you look at me but I need you to know that it’s okay, I’ve told you this before but you clearly don’t believe me but trust me, it’s okay.”
“It’s not okay–”
“Yes it is,” he interrupts you, “you loved Eddie, thinking that he hated you, right?”
You nod.
“And he had your heart all this time, didn’t he?”
“Yeah,” you whisper.
“And you never once regretted giving your heart to him or loving him when you believed that he hated you?”
“No,” you whisper “I never did.”
You could never regret loving him, even if Eddie didn’t reciprocate your feelings and you wouldn’t be where you are now, you still wouldn’t regret it. You’d still love him even if it would kill you.
Sadness clouds his features but he still smiles.
“That’s how I feel about you,” he says, squeezing your hand.
You smile sadly, letting go of his hand, you step closer and wrap your arms around his waist, laying your head on his chest, you close your eyes.
He hugs you, sighing as he feels his heart fluttering in his chest.
“I hope you find someone who loves you the way you deserve to be loved, Stevie.”
“Eh, I doubt that. I think at this point, I’m okay with being alone.”
Steve doesn’t want to settle for someone just because he can’t have you. He knows that he won’t be able to love anyone the way he loves you. Even if someone could love him and give him a life that he wished he could have with you, it still wouldn’t be the same and it wouldn’t be fair to the other person knowing that his heart belongs to someone else.
“No one should be alone.”
His arms tighten around you “as long as I have all of you, I won’t actually be alone.”
You nod “yeah, you’re never gonna be alone. You’ll always have us.”
-
You step into your bedroom with a smile on your face.
Walking over to the window, you close the curtains before you drop the towel. Putting on your underwear quickly, you reach for your tank top and put it on, just as you’re about to pull it down, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror– something you have avoided when you got out of the shower.
You felt them, the injuries. You felt them constantly, even as they started healing already, they still hurt and itch on your skin.
You blink, wanting to look away but you can’t. Your heart drops to your stomach when you see just how bad they really are.
You draw in a long breath as you step closer towards the mirror. Your stomach is covered with injuries, there’s no doubt that they will leave the nastiest scars. Your right arm and your legs don’t look any better, they aren’t as bad as the ones on your stomach but they will still leave some faint scars. You are surprised that the bats spared your face.
You are fighting back the tears as you touch the wounds on your stomach, you hate them and you hate the way they look on your body.
“Hey have you seen my–” Eddie suddenly halts in his tracks, the expression on his face falls as you quickly pull your shirt down and wipe the tears away. He whispers your name and walks towards you “baby.”
You force a smile on your face, acting as though nothing happened “what are you looking for?”
Eddie doesn’t answer your question, he looks at you with sadness in his beautiful eyes. Reaching for your hands, he pulls you closer to him. You look down as tears fill your eyes once again, your bottom lip quivers as he cups your face in his large hands and he tilts your head up “my sweet girl,” he whispers “please don’t cry.” He tucks your wet hair behind your ears and leans in to kiss the fallen tears away.
His touch brings you comfort and you find yourself melting into him so easily. Everything feels so right when you’re with him.
“You’re beautiful,” he whispers, kissing your lips, “the most beautiful girl.”
That makes you cry even more because you’re scared that he will change his mind once he sees how bad the wounds really are. All this time they were covered by the bandages but now they are gone and you can no longer hide behind them.
“Please don’t cry, sweetheart,” he says with a frown on his face. He cups the back of your head and pulls you into his chest, holding you tightly. His heart breaks at the sound of your sniffles.
“I love you, y/n,” he whispers, kissing your shoulder. He rubs your back softly and runs his fingers through your hair “I love you so much, my heart could burst from how much love it holds for you and nothing could ever change that, baby.”
“Nothing?” you sniffle.
He shakes his head “nothing at all,” he whispers.
“Not even these ugly scars?”
“Baby, they are not ugly.”
It’s ridiculous to him to think that you are worried about something like that, as though some scars could make you any less perfect, attractive or less lovable. There’s nothing in this world that would make him change his mind or his feelings about you.
He slides his hand down your back and moves it up to your front, placing his hand on your stomach, you shudder. Scared that he will be disgusted by the feeling of your scars.
His heart aches in his chest, you’re scared and worried, he can feel it.
“I love you,” he whispers, kissing the top of your head. “I love your beautiful face and that cute smile of yours,” he whispers, brushing his thumb against your bottom lip as he leans down to kiss your cheek “I love your eyes and the way you look at me,” he says, kissing your forehead, “I love your voice, it always calms my heart,” he whispers as he slides his hand further up your body “I love your perfect body,” he whispers, looking into your eyes he waits for your approval before sliding your top up, you nod and he smiles. Reaching for the hem of your tank top, he keeps eye contact as he takes it off. You blink, breathing nervously as you try to hide your stomach but Eddie takes your hands in his, shaking his head at you “don’t hide, please,” he whispers as he walks you to the bed, pushing you down “lay back, pretty girl.”
You do as he says, resting your head on the soft pillows, you look at him, watching the way his eyes scan your body. There is love, so much of it. He takes his shirt off before he joins you on the bed, spreading your legs, he settles in between them and takes a moment to stare at you. His heart continues to flutter in his chest and he smiles. You look so beautiful. Goosebumps litter your skin as he traces the scars on your body, he leans down and kisses them.
Your heart swells in your chest, more tears well up in your eyes.
“My beautiful brave girl,” he murmurs against your skin “how could you ever think that they’re ugly?” he asks as he continues to kiss your wounded skin “these scars show how strong you are, how you fought and won. You protected us, you protected me. You’re my hero, sweetheart,” he pauses “don’t you ever call them ugly again, they’re pretty metal you know? Totally badass.”
Your eyes soften and your stomach flutters “Eddie,” you whisper as a small smile appears on your face.
“There she is,” he smiles as he presses kisses all over your stomach and your chest until he faces you again.
You move your arms around his neck, staring into his doe eyes, you lean up to kiss his lips “I love you so much.”
“I love you more,” he murmurs against your lips before he pulls you into a deeper kiss. You smile and close your eyes. Moaning as he pushes his knee against your heat. He sighs, smiling as you pull him closer and wrap your legs around his waist. Your lips mold together so perfectly. His tongue brushes your bottom lip and you part your lips further.
He gasps as you grind against his bulge, his stomach flutters. God, he can’t wait to feel you again.
“I need you,” you whimper against his lips as you reach down between you both and begin to unbuckle his belt “please…”
He smirks, kissing your lips and then your jaw and your neck “please what?”
You giggle, his hair tickles your neck. He smiles against you, the sound of your giggle makes his heart swell.
“Please, make love to me,” you whisper as you meet his eyes, his eyes flicker with lust and love as he kisses your boobs.
“I’ll make love to you tonight,” he whispers as he cups your cheek, “tomorrow,” he whispers “and for the rest of our life.”
“Forever?”
“Forever,” he whispers as he kisses you “my sweet girl.”

author note : I love Queen and this is my ultimate favorite song of all time never get tired of listening to it- if you haven't- MY GOD! SHAME ON YOU! 😤
He struggles not to get mad at you
He struggles not to get frustrated at you
He struggles not to hate on you
What happened?
Did he have done something wrong?
Hell
Hell yes, he did something wrong with you
"I'm so fucking dumb" he mumbles to himself
"What did you say?" Jeff says as he flips the next page of his comic book
The voice of his friend made his snap out of his thoughts while he's looking at you at the other side of the cafeteria
"uh- nothing" he clears his throat, straightens himself up and he averts his eyes away from you
Jeff looks up to his friend with critical eyes as he observes him, slowly putting his comic book down on the table, he turns around and he founds you there
"Ah" he chuckles shaking his head, he finally understands the situation
Eddie catches this and he questions him "Excuse me?"
"Make it up to her, man" Gareth says as he takes a sip from his canned Coke
He swings his head over to his other friend, confusion expression sitting on his face clearly
"Woo her" Dustin added while he's writing on his science notebook
Eddie quickly shuts his eyes as he responds "Was I too obvious for thinking about her too much?"
"Stop moping around and talk to her!" Lucas leans in, his tone is serious making Eddie nodding taking his words carefully
"The more you don't try to fix, the more she'll gets angry at you, been there done that" Mike raising his hands up as he tries to forget the idiot things that he did to Jane
"What the hell- did you to her this time, Munson?"
All of them turn their heads at the other voice, it's standing right there next to Eddie looking at him down with a stern look on his face
The look is not threatening but Eddie can see it that he genuinely cares
Eddie just lifts his head up to see the man standing beside him and he can see the guilty and sadness on his eyes
He sighs "I don't know anymore, dude...." He trails off
"He probably done something asshole to her girl" Jeff fills him up
Eddie looks at him with wide eyes and then turns to a pointed look
"I-I'm sorry, man, it's the truth!" Jeff surrenders
He shook his head as he leans his back against his seat
Eddie's eyes always goes back at you for everytime he tries to rethink and remember those past few weeks before you chose to ignore him
It's been 3 weeks
It almost looks like he doesn't even exist to you
He should've known, a girl like you who got a heart of gold, nicest soul
Could turn into something else that he never expected to happen
You became mean, hateful, rude, impolite to him
The only time he sees you smiling and laughing so sweetly is when you're not close to him
But whenever your eyes falls to him, it changes into anger, it flashes to him so sharply that he can feel your gaze stabbing into him
He knows he deserves it for treating you this way
And my god, both of you have been bestfriends for years and he never thought this day would come
The day he will never ever forget is that you despise him, every bit of him irritates into your core
He can't blame you, you've been together since elementary, he knows how much you give your whole heart to someone you love
And then he just chose to fucking mess things up
"Answer me, Munson"
he puts his food tray on the table, it made Eddie flinch a little, he goes straight back into reality again
"What's going on between you and her?"
Eddie breathes from his nose deeply, he looks down shamefully
"You can still bring her back, you know, it's not too late"
"How can I ever talk to her if she doesn't give me a chance?!" Eddie finally speaks throwing his hands up while stealing a glance at you
You're staring at him coldly
Eddie can't even look at you like that for long giving him that icy glare
The man beside Eddie gave a gesture to Jeff and Gareth to scoot over on the side so he will have a seat next to Eddie
Eddie rubs his face, he's stressing out, his friend can see that
"It's not the right time to give me advices, Harrington"
"Look, dude, I just wanted to help you, if you lose her you're going to regret it, believe me"
Eddie stare at him for a second, he nods along for him to continue
"What did you do that might upset her?" Steve tries to look at his friends eyes
The whole crew looks at him directly, awaiting for his answer
Eddie swallows he knows he's gonna get scolded from his friends and if Wayne knew about this
He's a fucking dead man
"b-before the 3 weeks happened, we h-hang a lot like the usual a-and then I-I think she gives so many hints that s-she liked me and I thought she's j-just expressing her l-love to me as a f-friend and then few days later it feels like she's n-not the same anymore until s-she finally let it all out that she h-has feelings for me"
"and then what happened?" Mike asks
"She told me she w-was fine, she'll be in t-touch with me until I received a letter from her, I'm still confused and I don't know what she meant about it, I reread it like a million times and I think-"
"you think what?" Lucas cuts him off
"She d-doesn't want to be with me a-anymore" Eddie said the last line like he was holding his breath, he breathes out shakily
"Well, that sucked" Gareth saids while Jeff nudges him in the stomach as he gestures to be sympathetic for his friend for a moment
Steve facepalmed for a second as he tries to think of something
"What did you do after she..." Dustin glances at you before he continues "confessed to you?"
"Here's the thing, Henderson" your voice goes behind his back making Eddie tense up at the fury anger coming out from your voice
All of the boys stare at you like they've been caught
"He fucking acted like our friendship together didn't exist and let me guess he told you I was the one who got cold right?"
All of them nod and then they scrunch their faces up making it harder for Eddie
You laugh in disbelief "What y'all boys didn't know right after I confessed at him, he just acted like it was nothing, he just go on day by day like nothing happened, just like that" you shrugged
You lean down close to him, his breath hitches being you this close to him while you're in rage
"He expects me to be like?!? Do the same shit that he did?!? No fucking way" you whisper on his ear and he squeezes his eyes shut
All of the boys are intimidated seeing you like this
They're used to see you being so lovely and fun like Eddie
But now, they get it, why Eddie can't just talk you out of it
"That's why I wrote him a farewell letter to end my misery and his misery because I'm such a good person" you say the last word clutching to your heart sarcastically and smiling
Your forced smile drops, you say one more thing before you leave "Even though he doesn't deserve it" you scoffed at him while you look at him up and down
He pushed his seat back running after you
You ignore him calling out for you until he finally reaches your hand you turn around
You slapped him across his face making the other students gasped and you don't even care if the other students having prying eyes on you and him
"Oh shit!" Dustin exclaimed
The whole gang stand up from their seats, jaws are dropped and shocked as they watch the scene unfolds
There's a bit of regret of what you just did to him but you can't help it, you're just so mad at him for invalidating your feelings and you hate that you got rejected at your most beloved and important person in your whole life
You wished that you didn't confessed at him, if only you knew that this is going to happen
But it already did so.... you'll just hop in onto the fire and burn and live through the chaos of your emotions
"Don't you try to touch me again, we're through" your eyes became glossy but Eddie knew that's how you get angry
You rip his hands off from you as he watches you disappear in the cafeteria
Angry tears coming out from you eyes and he hates that he's the cause of it
He only sees that if you're having problems at your life and now he's the part of it
He hates himself for it, for letting this happen
If only he wasn't so dumb about it, this wouldn't happen
He is making this hard for you, he doesn't even know where to start
He's tearing up, half of his face burning up from the slap that you gave him, it turns to a bright red color from his cheek
All of his friends goes after him, giving him a pat behind his back
Jeff and Gareth both saying in unison "Are you okay?" he just nods weakly and he sniffles
"Now all of you believe me?" He told them referring to the question earlier "just talk to her"
"I believe you, man" Steve sighs and he gives a small smile to his friend
It's been a month ever since you slapped him
Eddie's eyes still longing on for you everytime you brush past by him
He's trying to look into your eyes and tell you that he's sorry
"I think you're too hard on him" Robin says as she offers you a cherry lollipop, you grab it and unwrapped it and you stick it out to your mouth
You watch Eddie with his friends cheering for another successful D&D meeting
Your heart aches at the sight of it, you should've been there if it wasn't for the unfortunate events that happened
Even his friends are in celebration, you can see his eyes and his smile not reaching to his ears, he is not happy because you're not there
"I think you might be right" you remove the lollipop from your mouth
Robin's voice is muffled from the lollipop as she darts her eyes to you and to him "What- wait- how's so?"
"He isn't like the kind of trying to get my attention, he stopped doing that"
Robin smirks "You miss him, don't you?"
You huffed and chuckled "There's no shame in that, and you know it, Robs, yeah I do miss him" you admit unashamedly as you popped the lollipop back in your mouth
She gives you a empathetic smile
"Why don't you try to talk to him? Maybe he is truly sorry for what he has done"
You stare at her, This is the only time you let your walls down, Robin can see that you're also longing for him
You're just wearing this facade of yours so don't that he can't see how you truly hurt
At least that's what you think
Eddie knows it and you know that he can see right through you
You gave your friend a warm smile "I'll think about it"
"I just wanted for the both of you to be happy, I don't want you guys end up giving each other's cold and hatred remarks when they can be together again" she says as she puts her hands on her pockets
You nod at her, you're now thinking deeply about it
Eddie decided to ignore you or maybe if possible, forget about you
He gets even more scared of the letter you gave him that haunts him til' his day
He'll have to learn to forgive and forget
Which is impossible
He goes out looking strong but whenever he saw you, all of his courage to not acknowledging your existence just quickly fades away
He can't sleep either, he just keeps rolling around his bed all night, he can't stop thinking about you, he doesn't even know how he can get rest enough for the next day
His body aches and he stopped trying to get talk to you, he doesn't want to argue with you anymore, he's exhausted, he knows how will end up
Another slap from his face
He groans and goes back to his previous bed position as he throws a pillow on top of his head
He knows what you need, you need space, but he's trying his best to stay away from you he can't remove himself out of you that easy
He got even more mad when he saw you talking to another guy at school
Eddie can't deny his looks, the guy is good looking, maybe he's one of the popular guys at school judging by the way he dresses
His eyes turn to jealousy, his jaw clenches when you giggled about the guy was saying to you
He furrow his brows, he's the only one who can make you laugh like that, his heart drops of what the future might be
He would rather die seeing you holding hands with another man when he must've been the one with you on his side
He'll eat his heart out on how much he loves you
Eddie walked inside of the men's restroom
"It's a good thing you let her go, man"
Eddie raises his head looking for the familiar voice in the room, he rolled his eyes when he finally see him
It's Jason fucking Carver
Until he freezes, he can't recognize him because of the dim lights but his posture and his mannerisms
It's him, he's the guy that he saw with you
He is now simmering with anger, he knows guys like Jason just get girls and leaving them after they got what they wanted like they're pieces of trash
"Just get the hell away from me, dude" he spits out
He laughs darkly "I'm giving you a piece of advice, freak"
He gives him a daggering stare at him, a warning
"Girls like her, are too much of a work, they think a lot, they're unstable and hell, too fucking sensitive"
He shakes his head at his words and scoffs, he goes by the sink and wash his hands
Jason follows suit and he leans his back as he continues to talk
"You should get yourself a girl who doesn't have anything like her, just by one look she knows what you needed"
The faucet keeps running, he pauses, he knows exactly what he mean by that and that alone just pisses him off
Jason flinches at Eddie's action by holding him up by his collar pining him behind the wall
"I don't want any girl, Jason, I only want her, I am not like you breaking every girl's heart in Hawkins High, you're full of shit!" He punches him causing him to open the men's door
Throwing Jason in the process on the floor, making every student halt their tracks as they watch the scene, Jason can't even give a fist to Eddie
Eddie grabbed Jason again by his collar as he give him 2 blowing hard punches on his face, making him bloody enough to not speak to him ever again
"Next time, Carver, I hope this will mark that you won't fucking talk to my girl that way" he pushes him down, Jason weakly nods and he grunts while he slowly crawls away from him
It's like the universe is helping you to get back together, he turned around to see you standing there
It's the only time he is seeing you not giving him any cold shoulder instead he sees shock, pity, and hopeful?
He blinks and stares at you for a bit, he turned his heels and walked away
You tried to follow him, you sigh of what you just witnessed
"Another suspension again, son?" Wayne asks as he pours himself a cup of coffee as he glances at his nephew, washing the remnants of blood from his fists, it appears to be bruised from the punch
"Yeah, I blew Carver's face off" he plainly said
Wayne almost choked from his coffee, he clears his throat
"Pardon?"
He turn around to face him "I punched him after he talked shit to my girl"
He says it all at once, he realized of what he has done, he slowly looks up from his uncle who is now staring at him with a smug on his face
"Your girl huh?" He places his newspaper down on the coffee table
He sighs in exasperation "Who am I kidding? Why am I jealous, she's not even mine"
Wayne's smug smile falls as he stands up goes over to his nephew, joining him on the couch
"Tell me, what happened, son?"
Wayne already knew to what he has done with you, of course he's upset about it, Wayne likes you so much that he treats you normally like you're a part of his family
You can also feel it whenever you spend your time at their trailer, Even Wayne doesn't say it he's not much of a big talker but it just feels natural, it's home and that added more to your pain
"She saw everything that I made a scene, I turned around and saw her there standing, I thought I'm going to receive the same glares but-" he pauses as he shifts from his seat
He looked at the framed photograph of you and him on the top shelf, both arms hanging around on each other's shoulders, his heart beats fast when he looked at your beautiful smile, he misses seeing that smile of yours
"But?" Wayne says as he puts his hand over his knee
"She doesn't do it anymore, what does it mean? Does that mean she's not a-angry at me anymore?"
Wayne is proud of himself, he taught him well, a true gentleman like he is
Except for the idiot part, that's on him
"I think she's giving you a second chance"
Eddie looked at him, he grows nervous about it
"And by that chance, boy, don't ever waste it" he points at him giving him a pointed look
Eddie nods at his uncle as he throws his head on the sofa
This is it, you're giving him a chance, he is still certain that he wants you, he will do anything to make things go back to normal
The question is.... Do you still want him? or you just wanted reconciliation from him?
Tuesday, The Hideout, Eddie is there
Forest Park Hills, you arrived at 7pm
There's so many memories that you and Eddie created in his home, just by looking at it, makes you wanna sob about it
You knocked on the door and saw Wayne standing in there
His eyes shines in delight, the moment he sees you, he has the same grin that you always loved with Eddie
He hugs you that you gladly accept
"Oh! It's you! how wonderful to see you again"
"I'm very happy to see you too, Wayne"
He pulls back and invites you inside "Come on in"
"Where's-"
"He'll be back-"
"After 11pm, yeah I know" you chuckled slightly
He goes straight into the kitchen and offers you a cup of coffee that you always liked and thank goodness he has a box of butter croissant and that he bought after his salary, a treat for him and his nephew
"Thank you" you say softly
"Why'd you come here? Not that I don't mind you coming in here everytime you want"
You're chewing on the flaky pastry "I-I felt bad for him for what I did to him"
He nods as he listens to you carefully
"He deserves to know the all of the answers that he's been dying to know"
You reach out for your mug shakily, you drink it
You can't hold back the tears anymore, you put down your mug before you can break it
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"Don't apologize, it's okay" Wayne didn't waste time to hold your hand
You calm down for a bit as you exhale slowly
"I think he learned his lesson"
"W-What do you mean?"
"One time, he told me, he had an idea, he will be on his knees, begging for you, for mercy and ask for forgiveness"
You bursted out laughing as he laughs as well with you
"I embarrassed him, enough, Wayne, I slapped him in the cafeteria, last month"
"You- did what?" His hold on you drops as he places over his hips
You winced at of what you just did "Oh shoot, he's been through, already, Wayne, don't tell me you're going to reprimand him about it, I thought you knew"
He chuckles "He will be, if he loses this last chance"
You smile at him shyly, Wayne knew that you and Eddie had a thing for each other, both of you are just afraid, until one of you finally speaks up and turns into heartache
"I always knew, even my boy doesn't go fully into details but I know what's going on"
"Thanks, Wayne"
He never fails to make you laugh, you always feel safe whenever you're with the Munson's, he radiates the same energy like his uncle
"No, Thank you for making my dear boy happy, I don't trust that school aside from you and his friends, he got a lot of hard times on his life and I thought I would never see him this way, the moment you existed, I just know he'll be okay"
You gave him a heartwarming smile, you sniffled
For what Wayne just said, you know everything will work out just fine
While putting away the music equipments
Jeff looking at his friend, he doesn't want to meddle with his plans but he cares for his friend he just wanted to know
"Do you think you can still have her?" He asks
Eddie has this weird gut that's been going on all night, he doesn't know if it's bad or not
"I think so"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, man" he smiles genuinely and just like that his friend knew he'll be alright
"Good for you, man, I'm happy for you" he holds him by the shoulders
"Just don't do anything stupid to her this time" Gareth walks past by them while holding a big speaker
Jeff calls him out for being too hard on the words that he's giving to Eddie, he just laughs as he says "Got that!" he loves that for Gareth for being real and just speaking the truth
He is thankful for having friends like them
Eddie came home, he is in a state of shock to see you in there, laying on the couch, asleep, with his blanket
"I'm off to work, son" Wayne says as he swings his bag over to his shoulder
Before he exits, he says "You want her?"
"Yes"
"You want her back in your life?"
"Yes!"
"Then fight for her, boy" he says, he gives him an encouraging smile, he leaves while closing the door on his way
Eddie puts his beloved guitar down and places it on the side of the room to where it's safe
He crouch down to look at your face, even you're sleeping, you're so mesmerizing to look at, he missed looking at your pretty face
He watches as your chest rise and up and down, his eyes widens when he recognized the shirt that you're wearing
It's a gift that he gave to you last Christmas, his favorite Metallica bandshirt, you're wearing black leggings and a black cardigan
He can't help himself that he reaches out to touch your face and he caresses it
You stir up and your eyes flutter open and it lands on your sweet lover
"Hey"
"Hi" you rise up and sit down as you scoot over to offer him a seat
He goes under the blankets as well
You yawn and Eddie thinks it's the most cutest thing he ever seen
You rub your eyes as you looked around "Wayne?"
"Uh- he left just recently"
"Oh"
You both sat together in comfortable silence
"I'm sorry" you both turned your heads around at the same time, both saying the same thing in unison
Causing the both of you to laugh, he wheezes
After trying to calm down from your laughter
"I miss you, Eddie"
"I missed you too, sweetheart, so much"
You don't want to spoil the moment but you had to "I don't like that you keep leading me on, building up my feelings and just leave me there hanging, after I confessed my true feelings with you and you acted like it was a joke, it hurt me a lot"
"I know and I am so sorry like truly, I am, if only I go back I would've done better but I didn't"
He moves even closer to you and he can't believe that you let him hold your hand
"I regret it everyday, I hate that I was the cause of your pain, I can't sleep at night thinking about you"
You looked into his eyes, holy shit, he is telling you the truth
"I love you" There's no ounce of dishonest, zero hesitation on his voice
You gasp "That's all I ever wanted to hear"
He closed the gap between the two of you, he slammed his lips onto yours
You kissed him back, both heavily breathing, he smiles into the kiss as he swipes his tongue onto you, you sigh in content as you throw your arms around him, holding the back of his head as he deepens the kiss, you moaned
Until your back is laying flat down on the couch as you both continue to make out
It's the kiss that you always wanted and it's everything
He pulled back "Am I forgiven?" He knits his eyebrows together
"You sure are" you smiled back at him as you pull him by the collar, you kiss him passionately
Eddie might cry, the gut that he was feeling earlier was a good sign
You sat on his lap, he puts his arms around your waist, breathing your scent like it adds to his lifespan, you frown at the bruise from his knuckles
He seethed when you rub your thumb over it "I'm sorry" you whispered
"You really meant it, don't you?"
"Was me drawing blood, isn't enough for you?"
You snorted, you move your body to face him, you're now straddling him
"There's one more thing, though"
"Yes, anything for you, darling" he says as he drew circles on your forearm
"You need to prove it to me" you start grinding on him slowly, he hums, as he looks at you from up and down, he took the hint clearly
You yelped when he carries you putting you down on his bed
"Please, go easy on me, I'm fragile" you say coyly
He chortled "Look, honey, I don't want to rush-"
"Are you gonna do it or spend your rest of your life that I am not yours?" You say bitterly rolling your eyes in the process
"Fuck- ah shit! Of course, I don't want that!"
"Then fucking just do it!"
He pulls you down causing you to squeal from his action making him laugh devilishly
It makes your thighs clench, he saw it and he looks up to you "Didn't know I had a effect on you like that"
You're about to slap him again until he grabs it and puts it down
"I don't think so sweetheart, not this time"
It's the first time you got alarmed from his action, it turns you on
He leans down to whisper behind your ear "I'm the boss here"
He removes your leggings with your underwear at the same time, he removes his shirt and his pants
His eyes grow lustfully as he sees your cunt, so wet for him and only just for him
He puts his hands over your knees, to open wide for him, you shiver under his touch
You reach down at the hem of your shirt, he stops you
"Let me do it, sweet thing" he winks at you
His hand goes behind your back to unclip your bra and remove it
"Oh my gosh" he places his hand over his mouth as he looks at you, admiring your naked body
You became bashful on his gaze, you tried to cover yourself
"I'm so lucky, goddamn!" He exaggerates the last line making you giggle
As he reaches on the drawer, he pulls his boxers down, you saw the length, it's big
Your mouth became dry
"Are you still up for this, sweetheart?"
You nod at him
"I only accept verbal answers, baby"
"Yes, Eddie, I'm ready"
"I'm gonna to take care of you, just tell me if it hurts, I'll stop"
"Okay"
He distracts you from kissing you, your forehead crumples up
"Too much?"
"I can take it, hold on"
"Just relax, angel"
The moment he fills you up, you're so fuck drunk in the feeling, you can't even register that he's inside of you
He holds your hip and raises one leg as he thrusts into you slowly
You whimpered and he is so fuck drunk like as you do, your pussy squelches in the most sinful things sound ever
"Stop clenching, I won't last long" he grunts
Your eyes are heavy-lidded, you run down your hands on his chest as you copy his thrusts making him groan
"Faster, Eddie, please move"
"I got you"
He places both of your legs around his waist, he holds both of your hands as he fucks you speedily
You wrap your legs around him tightly bringing him deeper, making you moan even harder
He flushes down on you, he nuzzles over your shoulder, you wrap your arms around him, you both moan at the sweet sensation
"Wait- Eddie- d-don't stop!" Your moans turn into high pitched screams
You used your last energy to bring him around so you're place on top of him, he gasps as his face contorts into pleasure
"I-I love you so much, E-Eddie" you moan as you grind him
Eddie watches as your pussy devours his cock gliding down smoothly like it was made just for him making him buckle his hips
You arch your back and your head falls down on the side, as you continue to ride him, cheeks are flushed, your eyes are closed can't hold them longer enough, you're so lost in the feeling
Eddie sits up as he holds you close, both burning bodies with so much ecstacy feeling both of your minds, both panting, a bit sweaty for getting all worked up
You kept saying his name "Oh- Eddie- Eddie- Eddie- ah"
"I- l-love you more, sweetheart, y-you're the best thing that is ever happened t-to me, holy shit, baby" he cusses on how good you feel
Making you clench and he groans, you smile to him lazily
He pulled you even more close causing your moans into scream, you grind him so fast, he holds your hips placing your legs around him, he squeezes your breasts, he plays with your clit, making you moan even louder
You start bouncing on top of him as you remove the pieces of his hair on his face
"My p-pretty boy" you say, biting down the another wave arousal coming in
"M-my pretty g-girl" he tucked a piece of hair behind your ear, he says as he holds you tight your legs are trembling, you shout his name as you both came undone
You kissed his cheek as you bring your arms around him, he is still holding you, he kisses your shoulder
"That was awesome"
There he is, the boy that you always loved, he is always unserious
You laughed, your laughing body shakes as you hide your face on his neck, you pulled back
Admiring his tattoos, he smiles down at you
Once you calmed down, he peels himself out of you, you winced at it a little, everytime he tries to pulls out slowly and carefully he says sorry, he takes care of you
He cleaned you up and helped you get dressed
He opens his cabinet, he grab a clean boxers and a pair of DIO bandshirt
He settle for his blue striped pajama pants, he stays shirtless
He says he'll be at the kitchen getting a glass of water, he offers you and you said yes
He has that silly smile again, you missed seeing that
None of that matters anymore, the important is that at the end, you're still together
You noticed a familiar polaroid picture on his bedside table, you reach for it and it reveals
It's you and him together celebrating your 20th birthday, you recognized his handwrite on the bottom, it says
"My best girl, ♡"
Your eyes are now brimmed with threatening tears to spill for any moment
"Here you go-" he stops as he sees what you're holding
"You kept it?" Your tears fall into tears of joy
He shows you a warm smile, he hand out the glass of water and you drank it, he kisses your forehead as he places the glass on the beside table
"I always kept everything that remind me of you"
Your heart flutters to what he just said, you hug him tighter making him shocked but he recovers as he realizes your muffled cries on his chest, he felt the tears that goes down
He pulled back to look at you "W-What's wrong?"
"I don't wanna lose you, Eddie, I want you forever in my life, I'm so sorry for acting like that"
"Hey, you have the every right to act that way, you have to right to be angry with me because what I did is absolutely unforgivable"
You hiccuped and he shushes you as he pulls your closer
"You didn't lose me, sweetheart"
You raise your head up to look at him, your ears are open for what he has to answer
"You save me again, I didn't stop loving you and I don't think that I never will"
His swipes the tears using his thumb, you hold him from his wrists as you say "I also don't think I could never love on another person again unless it's you"
It's his turn to cry in front of you "That is the most extraordinary thing that I ever heard"
You smiled at him as you kiss him
Eddie woke up with you laying on his shoulder, on his bed and the brightness outside, making him eyes shut again
Your arms are laying on top of his stomach afraid that he might disappear from you
The scent of the air is your sweet bergamot lavender perfume, your shampoo now lingers on his bedroom sheets, he smiles down at you kissing you on the top of your head
Eddie overheard the front door opens, he heard him removing heavy boots as he anticipates for his uncle to peek on the slightly opened door
Wayne looks over he sees his nephew already staring at him as his eyes falls on you asleep, he slowly opens the door wide making the door creak
Wayne manages to give his nephew a thumbs up causing Eddie to bite back a giggle, he freezes when you start waking up
"Goodmorning, sunshine"
"Morning, Eddie my love"
"I would never get tired hearing you say things like that"
He leans in to give you a kiss but you pulled back, he got confused "What?"
"I just got woke up and I have bad morning breath" your voice is hoarse from the sleep
He tuts "I don't care" he ignores your protest as he kisses you and you melt with it
"Hey kids, do you want me to join for breakfast? My treat?"
Wayne calls out to the both of you and you jumped at his voice, making Eddie laugh while holding on his chest
"Sure, Wayne, we'll be right there!"
You didn't remove the clothes that you wore last night, instead you eye his red checkered flannel that you always loved, you wear it fond smile coming from your lips
He wore his muscle tee black shirt and wore his another pair of sweatpants
"What do you say, sweetheart? Pancakes or Waffles?"
You laugh at the memory, you feel all bubbly inside, you washed your face and dried it with a clean towel
You brush your hair as you put on a cherry lipbalm
You walked towards him "You always end up getting the same thing" as you watch him putting a silver chain on his neck as he sprays his musk cologne on him, the scent that you always liked
"You always loved Pancakes" you placed your arms above his shoulder
"You always loved Waffles" he tilt his head onto the side as he leans down to kiss you again
"I'd say it's a date" he flashes you a cheeky smile
"It's perfect" he opens the door for you as he hugs you from behind
You, Eddie and Wayne ate happily at Benny's
Eddie always gives you a generous piece of his favorite waffle even you don't ask him to do it
The morning feels vibey and a new beginning, you take in the fresh of nice air
You rest your head on his shoulder as he does the same
You're both finally at peace and happiness once again and this time, you both know, nothing will ever comes between the two of you
🎶Ooh, I need your loving, oooh I need your loving, Ooh I need your loving tonight🎶
here's a lil' sequel of this cuties together again <3 "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy"

Okay, I started this a while back after watching a tiktok by @peter-pantomime on the same subject and have finally gotten around to finish it. Anyways
                        _______________________________________
Steve has a tell for when he’s about to do something utterly stupid and heartbreakingly selfish. Eddie was surprised that no one else had picked up on it yet. Apparently they’d been fighting literal demons together since ‘83, right? How hasn’t anyone else realized it?
Of course, Eddie couldn’t keep his eyes off of the former Hawkins High royal. Sue him. If he was going to be torn limb from limb by sleep-paralysis Venus flytrap-looking motherfuckers, he was at least going to drink in the face of a god before descending to hell. Again.
He’d first seen Steve’s tell in the boat on Lover’s Lake, right before Steve had plunged into its murky depths. Eddie and the girls had been wrapped up in a discussion of their next moves while Steve had stayed silent. His eyes, dark pools of amber and more world wary than any nineteen-year-old’s eyes ought to have been, flitted off into space before coming back into focus. It was a split-second moment, but Eddie had caught it. Of course he had. Despite all of the horror he had been exposed to in the past forty-eight hours, he was surprised that he was able to look at anything but Steve when he was around. He was utterly hopeless when it came to Harrington.
Suddenly, Steve was standing in the boat, challenging it to capsize them. Then, he was tugging off his shirt (and making Eddie’s brain short circuit) and shoes and jumping into the icy waters below.
It was stupid and selfless and he had found the gate.
At the time, Eddie didn’t realize that that moment he had witnessed would be a recurring theme for Steve. But then it happened again.
Steve had changed the plans at the last minute. It was stupid, but, really, even with Buckley’s two left feet, did they really need to have three people throw Molotovs at an unconscious Vecna? Besides, Nancy Wheeler had her sawed off. Robin and little miss perfect Nancy Wheeler, who Eddie was quickly learning was a total badass, could handle it. So, Steve stayed back with him and Henderson to distract the bats.
And distract them they did. As long as he lives, Eddie knows he will never be able to top the concert he played in hell.
But then the bats came through the vents.
Eddie was about to scramble up the rope after Henderson when he saw it. Steve’s eyes were focused on something that wasn’t there, then they were back on Eddie. Then Steve was picking up their fallen weapons and bolting out the door, screaming at the top of his lungs.
The bastard was trying to lure the bats away from Eddie and the gate. He was going to get him and his perfect ass killed. Of course Eddie was going to follow him.
Eddie doesn’t run toward danger. The sting of the wounds those bats had ripped in him reinforced that idea. But, he realized, as he lay on the ground, bleeding out and surrounded by hundreds of demobat corpses, he would run toward Steve.
Thankfully, the two of them had managed to hold off the demobats long enough for the girls to finish out the mission. They weren’t too too damaged when the demobats fell unconscious from the sky and the girls made their way back to the trailer park. Eddie shudders to think of their fate had they been completely immobile. Wheeler, Buckley, and Henderson may be tougher than they looked, but they wouldn’t have been able to drag his and Harrington’s sorry asses back topside.
After a week bound to a hospital bed in a room he shared with the object of many a wet dream, the two were discharged. Free to roam what was left of Hawkins. They ended up still spending most of their time at the hospital, though. Waiting with bated breath as Red’s injuries healed.
That’s where Eddie saw Steve’s tell a third time.
Jason Carver had, much to Eddie’s disappointment, had survived Vecna tearing the town apart with only a few bumps and bruises from his fight with Lucas. Lucas said that if Jason had been just a foot or two to the right when it happened, he would have been vaporized by Vecna’s death beams, or whatever. Really, that was more disappointing than the prospect of the semester being extended into the summer months as the town tried to clean things up.
Carver had caught whiff that Eddie and his gaggle of nerds were making frequent trips to the hospital. That deranged brain of his wouldn’t let him rest until he ended Eddie, it seemed.
Carver had appeared on Max’s floor with storm clouds and lightning behind him. Eddie had been picking up Will and El (who were both threatening to overtake Henderson’s place as Eddie’s favorite freshman), while Steve and Lucas were arriving for their visit with Red.
Eddie doesn’t even see him coming, too engrossed in brainstorming El’s character for the upcoming one shot with the two siblings.
Suddenly, Carver is crowding his space.
Suddenly, Steve is pulling the jock away.
Suddenly, Carver is spitting in Steve’s face.
And Steve does his tell.
And Eddie grabs the kids as Steve throws the first punch.
Starting a fight in a hospital is never a good idea, but Carver was really asking for it. As the two boys fight, Eddie notices another thing. See, he had seen Harrington absolutely obliterate a hoard of demobats. He not only has the looks of a Greek god, but the power of one too. But here, when fighting a mere human mortal, he is pulling his punches. He is showing undeserved mercy to this scab of a human. He is warning Jason to not mess with Eddie, and it is devastatingly hot. Suddenly, he understands why girls liked watching boys fight.
Security is called, and the two are forcibly pulled away from each other. Steve somehow uses the Harrington charm to convince hospital security to only kick Jason out of the building, despite the fact that he threw the first punch. Eddie has to force himself not to stare too adoringly at the spectacle. Seriously, he has a problem.
After that, things calm down exponentially. Life, for the most part, goes back to normal. Except now, the gaggle of freshmen that follow him around is doubled, and suddenly he is being invited to weekly movie nights with the people his age who also know about the Upside Down, and now he is spending most of his free time with the former King of Hawkins High and the man in question seems to want to spend time with him too.
The next time Eddie sees Steve’s tell, it’s a Friday night and they are sitting on the couch in the new government-issued trailer, the tv playing some forgotten movie in the background. Jonathan and Argyle had gone back to California with the rest of the Byers to pack up the rest of their things to ship back to Hawkins. Nancy and Robin had said they needed to work on college application essays, but from the lovesick looks on the girls faces, he had a feeling they had less academic pursuits in mind.
So, it was just him and Steve and some comedy that Steve had checked out from Family Video that Eddie had forgotten the title of. He supposed it didn’t matter. Neither were paying any attention to the film. Rather, they had started talking about the kids and their friends and the future, slowly inching closer and closer together until their knees knocked against each other.
Eddie tried to school the butterflies that always fluttered around whenever he was in Steve’s space. Eddie wants to make a move on him, he really does. However, he is about 64% sure that Steve is straight--the number decreasing by the day--and that is still too big of a risk to take if he isn’t. And Eddie doesn’t want to be wrong. So here he is, crushing on a straight guy not for the first time--staring longingly into said straight guy’s eyes, and--
oh.
Steve’s eyes flick away for a beat, then they meet Eddie’s eyes again. His tell. But what is he readying for--
oh.
Steve’s gloss coated lips brush his own chapped ones. Eddie doesn’t react in time, because Steve is pulling away, embarrassment painting his normally confident face.
That won’t do.
Eddie summons all of the bravado he has a Dungeon Master, and grabs the collar of Steve’s polo, pulling him back in. Their lips crash together, like waves in a hurricane. Eddie forces all of the feels he hasn’t dared show into their kiss.
The hand that had grabbed Steve’s collar relaxes and moves to cup his jaw. With his other hand, Eddie greedily runs his fingers through Steve’s legendary, perfect hair. Meanwhile, Steve’s hands delicately grasp Eddie’s waist, where their twin scars lie. Steve touches him as if he’s scared Eddie break. Like he will run away again. Doesn’t he know by now that he’ll never run away from him? He’s not going anywhere.
When they finally break apart, Eddie gets a good look at Steve and wonders if this is the first time he’s taken a stupidly brave risk and not gotten hurt.

After my latest s4 rewatch, I told some of the highlights to a friend who hasn't watch ST (and wasn't planning to; the genre isn't their cup of tea). When I reached the part about the aftermath of Chrissy's death, I said that I found particularly funny and infuriating that Jason accused Eddie of being a cult leader when he himself acted like one, rallying up his crownies and eventually getting the town on his 'hunt the freak' scheme. Then they said "oh, like Gaston?". Not saying BatB Hellcheer au (bc I personally don't like the Disney version and Beast's backstory is too further away from Eddie's) but there were def too many parallels between Jason and Gaston in canon, there would've been more than a few between Chrissy and Belle has she lived, and the most glaring one would've been their relationship once appearances were cast aside and Jason showed his true colors. What do you think?
I can definitely see what your friend and you meant by the parallels between ST/Hellcheer and BatB! I pretty much saw it after my first re-watch of season 4. I’ll try my best to explain using the disney version here while I give my two cents, and I’ll divide the sections with pictures too.
Town Hero
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jason and Gaston are quite similar, given that they're seen as the town hero that many people adore. Their looks, skills, charm, and being at the top of the pyramid allows for a large portion of the town to trust them wholeheartedly. They're seen as "perfect,” , thus they "can do no wrong" in the eyes of their peers. When they deem the Beast and Eddie as threats to their way of life, many people blindly follow whatever they say because Jason and Gaston are seen as a beacon of safety and hope. These "perfect" men found the answer to what's been plaguing the town of terrible things, so who better to follow than the self appointed leader who promises to get rid of the "threat" in order to make things right again.
“It’s Time to Follow Me!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In terms of having a partner, Gaston’s interest in Belle is more for social status and as a means to boost his already inflated ego. He’s obnoxious and boastful, seeing Belle as another trophy to display in his already amazing life. He’s mean, but not bloodthirsty.
It's only later on his villainous intentions are revealed when he sees that the Beast is indeed real. When he hears how Belle speaks so positively about something so monstrous looking, that threatens Gaston's only chance of taking her for himself. His anger/jealously fuels him to use his power over the people to get them to do whatever he wants. This time Gaston is out for blood, cementing his change into a metaphorical beast.
As for Jason, a part me does believe that he did love Chrissy very much. He fell into despair the moment he heard about her death, so I don’t blame him for experiencing such raw feelings of loss and anger. He couldn’t bear the fact that the love of his life is gone. He wanted answers, he wanted justice to be served in the most twisted manner possible, and he was willing to do anything to avenge Chrissy’s death.
That of course doesn’t justify his decisions to beat up Eddie's friends, make a speech to get people on his side, and threaten to shoot Lucas and Max. I don’t know how religious Hawkins is, but I can imagine that many were not too keen on anything having to do with D&D and metal music even before the mysterious murders started happening.
Jason found his “answer” by pinning Eddie as a “satanic cult leader” for both Chrissy’s and Patrick’s horrible demise. He already has his preconceived ideas about Eddie, but Jason was past the point of reasoning and fanned the flames of hysteria. Cementing his metaphorical transformation from man to beast just like Gaston. In fact this short passage from "The Mob Song" sums up the dangerous side of mob mentality.
We don't like What we don't understand In fact it scares us And this monster is mysterious at least
Bring your guns Bring your knives Save your children and your wives We'll save our village and our lives We'll kill the Beast!
Something There
Tumblr media
Now let’s look at the couple. While Eddie and Chrissy were given just a little bit of screen time together, you can absolutely see the chemistry between them during the bench scene (honestly all that scene was missing was a musical number). It felt like the beginning of what could have been a wonderful story between them. Sadly we'll never know if they could have just been friends or friends to lovers. But that's the beauty of fanfiction, people can create a world of what could have been. I'll share some headcanons (combo of ones that I’ve read and my own) regarding what might have happened if Chrissy and Eddie were allowed to live for the rest of the season.
They're both lonely, which surprises the other because they both seem so happy whenever they cross paths.
They learn to look past their already established preconceived notions about each other based on their social circles. i.e. Cheerleaders are mean girls, metalheads are vicious.
They both need to wear a socially acceptable mask in order to fit in with everyone around them.
Chrissy had a secret crush on Eddie growing up and still does. She's been told to steer clear of him because he's "dangerous," but that somehow still makes him attractive. So when she sees that he's actually a huge goofball, that doesn't diminish her feelings towards him.
Eddie is a hopeless romantic. He may have "cynical eyes," but he believes in things like "love at first sight" and "love conquers all." This of course blinds him to the reality that sometimes relationships aren't as cookie cutter like in a fairy tale.
They would share bits and pieces of what it was like for them growing up, which again surprises the other. Yet this helps to strengthen their relationship.
The two of them learn to see that there's more to each other than what's on the outside, which if it was done well would have made for a beautiful story.
Anyway I hope I was able to answer your question as best as I could.

Robin sat right down, sighing, “So what? We all live in the woods and hope the kids find us?”
“They will,” Steve reassured, “Lucas is probably getting help as we speak. Besides, it’s not that cold out. We’ll be fine. And if they don’t find us, we’ll find them.”
Nancy nodded, despite the fact that she was already shivering. But Steve noticed. He didn’t even hesitate to take his own jacket off.
She frowned, as he draped it over her shoulders,  “But what about you?”
“I have a sweater and an Eddie blanket,” Steve smiled, “I'll be just fine.”
“Speaking of that…” Eddie trailed in, “How about Steve and I go a little bit away and keep watch?”
Chrissy knew Jason was losing it, but she was 100 percent confident he was busy dealing with his murdered friend. She frowned, “Do you really think they’ll come after watching their friend die-”
“Yeah, you two go do that,” Robin interrupted with a sigh. She turned to Chrissy, “They want to make-out and save us the headache. We’re almost certain to be good for the night.”
“We'll be back soon,” Steve said, a slight flush to his cheeks but he didn’t correct her, “And we won’t go far.”
“Within an hour,” Nancy warned, “And keep quiet.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Eddie said flippantly, wrapping an arm around Steve’s shoulder, “You won’t even miss us.”
They walked away into the darkness, leaning into each other as they went. Chrissy was pretty sure she saw Steve stick his hand into Eddie’s back pocket before they were out of sight.
“It’s actually insane that they haven’t gotten caught yet,” Robin said as she watched them go, “I only found out because I saw them shoving tongues in a parking lot. But once you know, you can never unsee it.”
“I can’t believe I didn’t catch on sooner,” Chrissy sighed as she sat to Robin’s left, Nancy taking the right, “Did they really trick all of you?”
“All of us,” Nancy confirmed through a yawn, “They can actually be pretty sneaky when they want to be. They just never want to be.”
Nancy rested her head against Robin’s shoulder, Steve’s jacket wrapped tightly around her, “We should sleep.”
“We will,” Robin said quietly, “But don’t wait for us. Go right ahead.”
Nancy gave her a little smile, “If you say so.”
It barely took a few minutes for her to be completely out. She looked so peaceful, so much younger when she was asleep. Chrissy was well aware that Nancy was a small girl, but she had so much presence.
“She looks so much bigger when she's awake,” Chrissy mumbled quietly, “Like she can take on the world.”
“She probably could,” Robin laughed, “I think it’s all personality.”
“I know. I wish I could be like that.”
“Why?” Robin asked, furrowing her brow, “You’re literally perfect.”
Chrissy couldn’t help but laugh at that, “How on Earth am I perfect?”
But Robin didn’t look like she was joking, “Dude you are. You’re so sweet and fun. You’re talented, athletic, pretty, but still nice somehow. You’re brave as hell, if this whole scenario stands for anything. And you’re hot when you punch dudes in the face.”
That was almost too sweet for Chrissy to hear. But she couldn’t help but zero in on one thing, “You think I’m hot?”
Robin froze, opening and closing her mouth as she stuttered, “I-No? I mean, yes? I-objectively yes. Not creepily.”
Chrissy smiled, her heart beating a little faster at the implication. But… Jason. She felt so bad for him. After what he’d seen, it made sense to blame them. But it only made sense now. There was no framework to understand what was happening before and to just blame Eddie and Nancy for everything was ridiculous. She’d never seen him like that before, so out of sorts. He was so good at keeping his temper undercheck, she didn’t get what was happening to him.
But… she had been pretty clear hadn’t she? She didn’t leave with him, she never even tried. She told him to go home, that she didn’t need him, she didn’t want him. It… it was close enough to a break-up wasn’t it? Chrissy wasn’t sure. Though she had a feeling even thinking of things the way she was made her a bad person.
It just didn’t stop her from blurting, “I-I count tonight as breaking up with Jason. Just so you know. We um, we were never that close but my mom- she likes his family a-and… he used to be nice. He is nice but he’s… it doesn’t matter. We aren’t together. Just um, so you know. If you didn’t.”
She wanted to say more but… Chrissy could only be so brave in one day.
“I was um,” Robin swallowed, her face already red, “I was hoping that was the case. Because you deserve to be happy and I don’t…. I don't think he could do that.”
“He couldn’t,” Chrissy said softly, inching her fingers slowly to intertwine with Robin’s. She felt okay, as okay as she could be with the circumstances-
“Mmph!”
Chrissy nearly jumped at the sudden noise, the only saving grace was that she definitely recognized it as Eddie’s voice.
“Are they okay?” Chrissy asked nervously, staring out into the darkness. But Robin didn’t seem worried, she just gave Chrissy’s hand a comforting squeeze.
“I wouldn't check if I were you,” Robin sighed, “If they get loud again I'll throw a rock in their general direction. But they are fine. Trust me.”

403-404 thoughts
(Prev post here)
Murray’s prophecy of the kids playing too much Nintendo, eating too much junk food, smoking some ganja, pounding some beers, and experimenting sexually is actually eerily accurate. Nintendo, as @gayofthefae brilliantly observed, has been equated to the Nina project. Eating junk food? The boys presumably survived on the (quickly cold) pizzas and the sodas Argyle delivered to their house - and if they stopped at gas stations… these boys would have little to no money on their persons, so junk is all they could really afford, one assumes. Smoking ganja? Jon and Argyle. Pounding beers? Not the Cali gang, but Lucas did.
Experimenting sexually? No one has sex during s4 - Jopper makeout but that’s hardly experimenting, and certainly not for adults, and he was specifically talking about the kids. None of them are in the mood for it, naturally, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this is foreshadowing… something between a certain pair of boys. It couod be a cheeky reference to Will growing into his sexuality but, and forgive my crudeness here, right-hand solo sex doesn’t really fit, especially since he was talking about Jonathan, El, Mike, and Will as a group, implying a plural. In fact, this scene takes place directly after El and Mike fight, and after she is arrested. Experimenting is a very loaded word…
Never fails to get me how Mike just threw her last letter into the trash - it had already been explained that he may not see her for months, and here he is, treating her last missive to him with such disrespect. This attitude isn’t even new - he crumpled up and tossed aside the letter she’d painstakingly written and drawn rainbow designs on in the opening minutes. Meanwhile… there are Funko Pops of him proudly showing off the new painting Will made for him.
“You’re packed already?” “Yeah, I mean, I never really unpacked.” is the most blatantly subtext-ridden thing to come out of Mike’s mouth all season, and it’s the biggest piece of in-verse proof that he was fronting hard during 402 - and that was the lovey-doviest he was with El.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate Mike saying that home isn’t home without Will? Fuck the monologue, that is the most romantic thing Mike says all season.
@bylertruth3r made the above video, showing the eerily similarity between the Byler 404 reunion and a scene in 13 Reasons Why - and this scene was originally scripted as Mike coming up to Will kneeling oj the ground, meaning it was conceived as them being much closer together.
Tumblr media
I don’t think we appreciate, enough, that Mike monologued to Will in this scene. Not only are Jasons’s ily to Chrissy at the pep rally, Jancy’s ilys, Argyle and Eden’s LAFS, Max’s saving herself from Vecna with flashbacks, and Dustin’s ILY to Eddie all contrasts to the Mike monologue sequence in 409… but this is, too. Here are Mike’s three big monologues lain out:
"El? I don't know if you can hear this, but... but if you can, I want you to know I'm here, okay? I'm right here. And... I love you. El, do you hear me? I love you. I'm sorry I don't say it more. I... It's not because I'm scared of you. I'm not. I've never felt that way. Never. But I am scared that one day you'll realize you don't need me anymore. And I thought if I said how I felt, it would somehow make that day hurt more. But the truth is, El, I don't know how to live without you. I feel like my life started that day we found you in the woods. You were wearing that yellow Benny's Burgers T-shirt. And it was so big it almost swallowed you whole. And I knew right then and there, in that moment, that I loved you. And I've loved you every day since. I love you on your good days. I love you on your bad days. I love you with your powers, I love you without your powers. I love you for exactly who you are. You're my superhero. And... I can't lose you. Okay? Do you hear me? I can't lose you. You can do anything. You can fly. You can move mountains. I believe that. I really do. But right now, you just have to fight. Okay? El. Do you hear me? You need to fight! You have to fight. Fight!” Tearing up, not crying.
“Do you remember the first day that we met? It was… it was the first day of kindergarten. I knew nobody. I had no friends. And I just felt so alone, and so scared, but… I saw you on the swings, and you were alone too,. You were just swinging by yourself. And I just walked up to you, and I asked. I asked if you wanted to be my friend. And you said yes. You said yes. It was the best thing I’ve ever done.”
“Hey also, about the last few days… No, no, no. You didn’t deserve anything. Listen, the truth is… the last year has been weird, you know. And I mean, Max and Lucas and Dustin… they’re great, they’re great, itd just… it’s Hawkins. It’s not the same without you. And I feel like I was worrying too much about El, and I don’t know. I feel like I… lost you, or something. I have no idea what’s going to happen next. But whatever it is, I think we should work together. I think it’ll be easier if we’re a team. Best friends. Cool.”
Some quick observations:
1 and 2 occur under near-identical circumstances - El and Will are under Vecna’s control and he’s trying to give them strength. 3 is entirely unprompted. The first occurs under a level of duress similar to that of a gun being held to El’s head, as gayofthefae observes here
The rain fight is all over the s4 bedroom scene, and it’s very clearly on both of their minds. Mike has spent the past nine months addressing every criticism of Will’s - he’s friends with Dusfin, he’s playing D&as, he only kissed El when she initiated, and broke it quickly, and he even got angry at Lucas for prioritising others over the Party - although his complaint, unlike Will’s, was irrational and unfair. He relapsed at the airport and roller rink by trying to be normal, but this scene is him course-correcting for that. Mike’s calling himself a self-pitying idiot and thanking Will for being sensible is likelt not only referring to the earlier scene in Will’s room, but to the S3 and 402 fights. If that is the intention, it makes one wonder what Mike was self-pitying about in the latter. @howtobecomeadragon discusses it in-depth here
Right from my very first watch, the proposal imagery in the s2 speech - ‘I walked up to you, and I asked. I asked if you wanted to be my _, and you said yes… you said yes. It was the best thing I’ve ever done.’ - jumped out at me. M*levens regularly theorise that the series will end with Mike and El either getting married, or engaged, citing that Lucas line from s1 as foreshadowing - but we see in s3 that Mike relies on Lucas to push him through every stage of the apology, while he doesn’t with Will, and we see bouquet imagery subverted with that gift of flowers at the airport (see below).
TOO MUCH? Mike spent the s3-4 break backsliding in the whole ‘say ILY to El’ plot… but did address the problems Will had with him. Not only that… he came to the conclusion that he worried too much about El? Specifically because he lost Will as a result? I said in the previous post that Bylers don’t talk enough about “Who… who said that I didn’t?” We definitely don’t talk enough about the anti-m*leven implications of this line, because they’re bonkers. Mike worries a lot about El when she’s away at Nina, but at home he’s distinctly distant from her -

Lastly, I’ll finish this analysis post by swinging back to 402, and to the fact that Mike picking that bouquet? It doesn’t make much sense, timeline-wise. In fact, I honestly can’t figure out when he picked them.
Mike only says, on March 22, that he picked them ‘in Hawkins’ before launching into a nervous, distracting spiel about picking 70:30 purple to yellow, only maybe he picked too much yellow*, etc.
On the morning of March 21 he was still in his underwear reading over a letter to El, and was delayed going to with. He had classes at school, and was preoccupied during lunch bargaining with Eddie, bargaining wi5 various students, and finally bargaining with Erica. Between school and Hellfire he could plausibly have picked them, but that would have required cycling across town and back, when Nancy drove him to school - he didn’t have his bike at school. He also had nowhere to put them, except the backpack that presumably had school supplies in it - those flowers would not have looked so fresh had he shoved them in a backpack. Dustin also doesn’t mention him being gone prior to Hellfire. After hellfire, he went home to be there by 9 - he had to have done, otherwise he wouldn’t have been allowed on the flight.
His flight was at 6:30 and Indiana -> Cali takes 4 hrs 10 minutes. He would have been awake from very early in the morning with Karen, gathering his stuff, and then driving to the airport with adequate time to check-in and board the plane. There isn’t a hope in hell of Karen letting him randomly cycle across town in the dark for an undetermined length of time just to pick some fucking flowers, lmao. There is a strong chance, however, that Karen, the romantic, let him buy flowers and a pen in the Indianapolis airport before boarding the flight. Maybe she even purchased them.
The kicker? The bouquet of flowers had a fancy, polished-looking greeting card attached, one professionally made.
There is something deliciously meta about those flowers. M*levens have adopted yellow and purple as a symbol of the relationship - even though Mike only wore those colours to please her when he was being ‘hokey’ and a ‘knock-off’, to quote Argyle and the costume designer. I’m not even sure El truly favours those colours, as she doesn’t wear them much and doesn’t have any notable items in those colours. For all we know, she was asked if she had any favourite colours and simply picked two that came to mind.
What’s more, it seems very likely that Mike simply lied to her about putting in the effort of getting them himself, and instead relied on something pre-made and commercial. It isn’t impossible that he picked them, however (though the timing is a mystery) - we are shown at the end of the season that the field outside Hopper’s cabin has very similar flowers. But those… well… those have their own implications

To finish, I want to share a delicious finding from @sapphicjopper on twitter from last may - the working name for st4 was Tareco. There’s a song called Tareco & Mariola, all about a girl who knows her lover isn’t right for her, who knows that she doesn’t need him, and who is leaving him - ‘it’s not you who will give me the spring, the beautiful flowers I dreamed of in summer’. It’s reminiscent of the opera Nina - about a woman waiting for her lover, not accepting that he won’t return and be how she desperately wants him to be.
