Every time I try to watch Star Trek: Enterprise I get about halfway through the second season and tap out. I must have watched the first season through about three times by now and I'm no further in the series... This time I'm going to try starting in the second season and if I don't finish it now, that's it, I'm not trying again.
#in other news i watched angela collier's excellent video of how star trek: picard (and nutrek more generally) has ruined star trek#so many of her complaints are things i've been voicing for years and thought i was alone#the change from a hopeful optimistic post-scarcity federation to a federation that's a dull allegory for the modern-day u.s. empire#(complete with an analogue for the CIA) is such a deeply disheartening one#you can see echoes of this problem in ds9 and also enterprise but since discovery came out it's just gotten worse#i think there are a number of people like alex kurtzman who believe that gene roddenberry's vision of a future where poverty has been#largely eradicated etc. is a naive and childish one#and i can only think that this too must be their reaction to any left-wing movement
