i want to chew on muriel's brain because her god complex is literally so funny. She like gets jealous and insecure at the possibility that she's not the one closest to god. She says shit like "my will represents the will of god!" with her whole chest. (and repeats it.) And unlike literally everyone else on the planet, she alone did not feel hesitate or mourn at all when one who saved them all was sacrificed. Feels a little reminiscent of like, a god who can no longer empathise with the emotions of the plebs they're ruling over, because they're just satisfied that said plebs are alive.

Either she has a love for humanity far surpassing Oth!Tesilid (which therefore allows her to prioritise the world over one poor sacrifice), or she doesn't have a shred of humanity or compassion in her body.

Maybe she sacrificed her heart when she gained an undying body, maybe she wasn't like this in her first life and she just Came Back Wrong. Maybe all that's left in her hardly-human body is her faith and devotion to her god -- an irrational hangover from her first, devout life, because this god is one whom she knows has abandoned them all. That faith is not motivated by self-interest in the least. Maybe all that's left in her is religious zeal. Or maybe she was just a little fucked up from the very beginning.
