I think Anthy would be into DIY'ing her clothes and kindof being experimental with it? I referenced some of my fruits pdfs for inspo. I drew the punk one is a bit self indulgent, but since DIY is a big thing in punk it makes sense promise

I also think Anthy would avoid floral motifs, but she would have a lot of pieces with animals. Overally the main vibe was kinda layered and flowy, idk if its obvious. ALSO HER AND CHUCHU WOULD ALWAYSSS MATCH

hi utena tag recently my friend showed me the series and then subsequently the movie

boy that movie was a thing huh

after watching the series and then the movie in pretty quick succession and puzzling like a day and a half over what the fuck the movie was about I suddenly have a theory to throw out here so if you’re interested it’s going beneath the cut (I don’t wanna spoil like a 20 year old movie just in case)

so my friend warned that the movie didn’t make much sense/didn’t fit in with the series and jokingly I was like “oh it’s just Utena dreaming up bullshit while she was in the hospital post series”

but then like... after my brain started thinking over the plot after the movie had concluded?? that was suddenly plausible if it wasn’t Utena’s dream, but Anthy’s

It’s Anthy’s!!

It makes so much sense if you look at it that way!! Akio is fucking dead at the start because Anthy wishes she’d never let anyone (else) be hurt by him, so in her fantasy he’s dead and buried by the time she and Utena meet

The Rose Bride shenanigans are only there to facilitate their meeting and engagement, which makes sense of why the dueling trappings disappear almost immediately. Anthy also being practically presented as a different person??? No glasses, barely interested in outcomes, only laboring for Utena’s sake even before they’re engaged by interrupting the fight??

And then Utena literally becoming the vehicle which takes her from Ohtori finally? Just like in the show???

It also makes sense out of everything to do with Utena, like Wakaba and The Student Council, being so distorted and kind of held at arm’s length??

Touga, who was a continual aggravation is turned into almost like a distorted image of Anthy with the random background change, first love placement, and then weird martyr death???

Also it’d explain why Shiori is also like a weird plot thread in her entirety. She just facilitates all conflict in place of everyone else. She’s almost a level below Akio in manipulation???

Also Nanami not being there and also in a comedic manner??? It saves Anthy a headache”]

The additional of Akio being so guilty about what he was doing to Anthy that he straight up kills himself seems like it would be straight up an Anthy fantasy. He ends himself and can’t hurt anyone else.

But everything falls into place for why the world is just so distorted? The set is constantly in flux, it’s why Anthy arbitrarily interacts with GHOST TOUGA, the random Shadow Girl Mission Control that is almost... like a gang of Utena haired cheerleaders trying to help them escape (all during a scene where Anthy is literally using Utena as a vehicle for her to leave, I still can’t get over that part both literally and metaphorically), and then just... Human!Car transformations. Even for Utena’s shitpost-storytelling from the series the Car Wash Brush transformation sequence was TOP TIER BONKERS DREAM MATERIAL.
