"sensei" the doctor knocks against the door frame, grinning at narumi "take a break. i got us some macaron from the new bakery... oh and I got you some coffee too~" he places the cup on the table, still smiling "did you have a long night?" he did encounter that hooded guy again and toyed a bit with him... time to follow his hunch on who that might be!

ㅤㅤAT this time of the day, most teachers probably had already gone home for the rest of the evening to be with their families or even share some drinks with a few coworkers but Narumi wasn't exactly the type to go out his way to make social commitments in favour of his work. He led too busy of a life to even allocate any time for that kind of thing but not that he minded. This was the kind of life he was used to leading.

ㅤㅤHe preferred to spend his time his office after school to finish up his work in advance to save him the trouble of doing it at home. Besides, his other job had become rather troublesome as of late so he'd rather not have to deal with even more work whenever he got home ( he felt more exhausted just thinking about how much more complicated his work had gotten no thanks to a certain individual ).

ㅤㅤHe expected the rest of his evening to remain uninterrupted just as it usually did until suddenly, a familiar voice pulled him out of his concentration and he blinked, lifting his gaze in surprise at the unexpected visitor. That's right. It seemed as if he's made a new friend recently.

ㅤㅤTruthfully, the first time Romani showed up at his office was a bit of a shock. They hardly talked much apart from a few passing conversations in the breakroom so when Romani approached him out of the blue, he wasn't sure how to react. While Narumi was quite cordial with his colleagues, he always ended up distancing himself to attend to his own business. So, for Romani to take a sudden interest in him was a bit ... well ... strange. It felt like it came out of nowhere especially since they've been working together for about a year now. Well, he supposed Romani had always been quite the outgoing individual to begin with so perhaps being approached wasn't entirely unfathomable. He always went out of his way to look out for the people around him and in turn, he naturally became well-loved by both the staff and students alike. Whatever his reasons were ( even if it initially appeared to be out of pity ), Narumi wasn't exactly opposed to this unexpected friendship. Still, it somehow always felt like there was something more to his reasonings but it was hard for Narumi to finger on it.

ㅤㅤ" ... Archaman-sensei. " He greeted with a polite smile. " You really didn't have to go out of your way to get this for us but who am I to refuse ? Thank you. " He set down his pen to welcome the treats as Romani pulled up to the nearby table in his office.

ㅤㅤ" The new bakery by the station is quite popular so I'm surprised you even managed to snag a box for us. I hope you weren't waiting in line too long. I have been pretty curious about it for awhile so I guess this is the perfect opportunity to try it out. I owe you one. " He carefully picked up the cup of coffee to take a sip ( ow, hot ... ! ). Compared to the usual black coffee he poured himself, it was nice to indulge in secret with someone who shared similar tastes.

ㅤㅤ" Last night ? Ah ... well ... I guess I had a bit of a long night. I ended up getting into a bit of a dispute with a neighbour since we've had a lot of noise complaints recently ... I tried to explain it was a misunderstanding but they just wouldn't let up. I guess they mistook me for the other next-door neighbour but ah ... sorry. This is a pretty uninteresting story, isn't it ? What about you ? I hope you had a better night than I did. "
