Virago is such a pretty and unique fic title what does it mean? And how did you find it?

Virago is a woman who demonstrates exemplary and heroic qualities. The word comes from a Latin word meaning ‘a man-like, vigorous, heroic maiden, a female warrior, heroine, woman of masculine strength or spirit, domineering woman’ etc. I found it years ago when I was in a Western Civilizations class; I don’t remember the exact book but I do remember it was in passage about old English poetry pertaining to Joan of Arc. 

It’s also the title of the Bobbi Morse fic I’d been working on! Basically putting Bobbi into the MCU way before her appearance in AoS (actually started writing it before she showed up there), focusing on her relationship with SHIELD, Clint, including a lot fo background and bits from the comics that the films omit (like what happened to Abomination, how Cap was found and thawed out, etc), and slowly introducing the next generation of Howling Commandos (you can find Emi Morita a handful of times on my blog, and I have an unfinished edit of my fanciest in my draft from, hmmm, four years ago? lmao). Sadly, I lost it all when my hard drive crashed back in April ‘18. Years of work gone (I’d written up to the first Avengers movie! 😭) but I loved the title so I repurposed it.
