it's always so funny to me when I can read something other people describe as "horrifying" or "nauseating" without blinking but then I find a book that I've never heard mentioned before that absolutely fucks me up

#the troop by nick cutter: what the fuck #very few books disturb me so much that i am genuinely fearful of sitting down and reading them again #i finished this book in two sittings bc the first one freaked me out so much that i have to gather my courage to read it again #and spent the whole time thinking both ''what the fuck'' and ''i should finish this so i don't have to read it again''#great book! however if given the opportunity i would like to never think of it again as long as i live <3 #went into it completely blind too so it just kept getting worse like that mr incredible meme #awful. awful awful awful. what the FUCK was that !#frankly i do not recommend it lmao. well written but unless you have nerves of fucking steel this book might kill you #without spoiling anything: if you have any (ANY) body horror triggers or germaphobia do not touch this book w a 10 foot pole #i think i have germaphobia (or something like it at least) and christ. god help me #frankly im surprised i only got scared by this book and not like physically ill tbh #anyway! i will do my very best to never think about this book again. what the fuck <3
