Hear me out, and this might sound crazy but bear with me okay, this might be revolutionary take on gaming as a whole, that is why I understand if not everyone agrees on it immediately, but I promise that this is a step in the right direction.

So, what if instead of trying to force “maturity”, and I say that word loosely, because these writers and developers think that “maturity” only mean sadness, misery porn and edginess (I am looking at you, cybercorruption BS), so instead of forcing that, we make a Sonic game where Sonic is actually Sonic, sounds like Sonic and looks like he belongs in the game I am playing instead of looking like an indie tech demo, then we grab the other characters, decide which ones are actually gonna move the plot forward, so we don’t need to include useless characters that are just there to make the game longer and to add a few more quests, and then we keep those characters inside their previously stablished depictions and base ideas.

Perhaps Midtiers could be a real game and not a tech demo if Eggman wasn’t brought in cutscenes every 25 minutes just to remind you that he is still there, the egg memos were nonexistent as there is no reason why these memos would be randomly scattered around the island, and even less on Big’s posession. If Eggman was evil, if Sage was a real character, if The end made any sense, perhaps this could be a good game

Frontiers Eggman pretty much did nothing the whole game, and we hardly got to see his dynamic with Sage develop onscreen, you have to resort to looking at the egg memos for most of it.

It's a pretty lazy way of trying to blend the story and the game together.

It reminds me of how modern games are quite fond of having characters leave scattered recordings of themselves for the protagonist to inexplicably come across, in the most random of places, for little justified reason other than Muh Deep And Mature Storytelling.

Surely there's a better, snappier way of blending the story and gameplay?

29: Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?) 

Depending on what it is he either fights or runs. The best example I can think of this was when Percy got captured by Eggman. This was while Sharp was still working for him, so it came down to deciding if he wants to turn a blind eye and stay in his base- somewhere that was “home” in that he had his own posessions and a roof over his head, or if he wanted to just grab Percy and run, essentially throwing everything he had away.

He chose the latter obv

I don’t think he’s all that concerned about personal belongings, even though he did end up missing the ones he lost. If he has a chance to save something of his, he’d probably go for it. And in a world where Eggman sends robots to destroy places, the disaster itself could very much be something he could actually fight, which is what he’d go for unless things look absolutely hopeless

39: Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither? 

Oh Storm has a definitive inferiority complex, I think? Or hes kind of a mixed bag. He can get kind of a superiority complex when fighting, but its nothing that he shows outwardly. But he definitely gets a kick out of people underestimating him only to discover that he isnt all that easy to beat. He even gets into some fights purposefully acting inferior only so he can catch his opponents off guard.

But in other cases, he’ll be unsure of just how strong an opponent is, or that they might end up being stronger than him. Thats when he tones his usual antics down and threads with caution.

But on that note I think fighting is like the one thing he doesnt feel all that inferior on?

Everything else tho? Even tech, something hes very capable at, occasionally makes him think things like ‘what if this isnt good enough?’ if he’s personally making a prosthetic intended for someone else.
