btw the more i learn about gay history the more i openly embrace the presence of neologisms and diverse expression among identities

so in conclusion: if you are going around attacking people for using "the wrong flag" or for coining new gender/sexuality terms, or new pronouns, i really want nothing to do with you. unity does not mean assimilation. it means acceptance and community

(of course, as with the paradox of tolerance, i do not include bigotry in my definition. if a person has made a new term or flag for the explicit purpose of bigotry, which is not in good faith, i do not believe it to be the same. for example the "super straight" thing which hit the internet about a year or two ago. or the making of a new pansexual flag to exclude certain people in the pansexual community. nuance is important.)

#this is prompted by me thinking about the blue-green gay man flag #i represent myself with the original gilbert baker flag - with sex and magic #but the sheer vitrole i see towards the so-called ''toothpaste flag'' i find is less about genuine criticism and more about #punishing gay men for not expressing themselves under the Common Gay Canon. which is. stupid #i think gay men or any LGBT person can fly whatever flag they wish to express themselves #even ones they have designed themselves #and it does not express a hatred of mr. baker or his importance in our history
