do you think daniel's actually gonna retire if he ends up not getting a seat or do we expect another sabbatical? what do you think the chances of him retaining the vcarb seat are? or do you think rbr will be like "wait til 2025 babe we'll see what we can do"? i dont want him to go he's why im here :(

Let me preface this by saying I still think 2025 is very much on, but much as I do not want to think about it, if it does end up not happening, then the likelihood of Daniel retiring ... yeah it's there. And i think it goes back to what he said in 2022, that he's not here to just make up the numbers by racing at the back. He went back to red bull because he wanted the chance to drive that car again, and despite all the talk about whether he still has the Old Daniel in him, a man past his prime wouldn't have put the Alpha Tauri or the vcarb in p-fucking-4 twice. And despite him feeling he still very much have the hunger to be in this post, I think he'd bow out because he wanted the chance to be in the red bull and despite everything he did, he didn't get it and he's not about to waste his time and drive his reputation further into the ground by chasing another seat.

looking at this dlc and the content it has makes me re-think everything now LOL i think whats gonna happen soon (im not sure maybe summer-winter 2024 or sometime in 2025-26?) is that theres gonna be a full atreus game announced (or possibly released???) and im here for it!

I was thinking it might be a POV switch majority of the game like ragnarok but now im feeling like this dlc was released in regards to making that atreus only game 👀 Im ngl im a little nervous about it due to “those” ppl, plus idk how sms is gonna handle him, angrboda, etc but we wouldnt truly know until they tried right? This doesnt mean kratos wouldnt be in it or never playable again (i dont think thats smart anyways tbh) i just think atreus might actually have his own game mostly with him playable and i wouldnt mind at all. Im sure his gameplay will be more flexible since hes traveling and his experience is building up and will show as well

on the 16th it'll be a month since we had to put bagheera down and tora's not doing the best without her big brother. i'm hoping she'll start getting along with kubla but she keeps hissing at him if he tries to come close (he used to hiss at her and bags a lot when they first came here OTL) but they're both cats from bonded pairs who lost a sibling recently so i know she'd like the additional comfort for when i'm not here to provide that for her

I mean the key part here is ‘if he delivers’ and it applies equally to Daniel and Yuki. If Daniel delivers, he gets the seat. If Yuki delivers, he gets the seat. If checo delivers, he keeps his seat. It’s pretty irrelevant for people to write long think pieces on who’s getting that RB seat at this point because there’s no indication at all until the cars get on track.

That being said, because I’m a Daniel fan, I’ll write the think piece on why I think he still has a fighting chance to get the seat. I was digging around in old news stories and found this piece from just around the time he was announced to the RB seat back in 2013:

Jev outscored Daniel in 2012, but Daniel still attracted RB’s attention by showing that spark of potential with a higher grid position than his teammate. And Daniel’s already done that with his second row start in Mexico last year. He achieved a higher starting position than his teammate who had been the driving the car all season long, unlike him. He’s already shown that, on the right day, he can still pull that one special performance out of the bag. If RB is assessing him vs Checo, the main thing they’ll expect from him is to show he can consistently do this, that he can have a clean weekend week in week out. And I think it’ll be a direct comparison of his performance against checo’s. So, it’ll be important for him to be faultless especially in cases where checo might be susceptible to pressure
