Thinking about Nabateans (something new for once)

Seteth has those lines :

I still come here to fish, from time to time, using the skills my wife taught me.

It reminds me how deeply I appreciate those years... and how I wish I could return to them.

Even Seteth, the Nabatean who can be compared to Rhea (since the other 2 are ignored by the plot) and seems more “stable” and anchored in the present, has those feelings of wishing to return to days long gone.

And it’s Flayn who shakes him out of this fantasy... or not?

We cannot turn back the clock, Father. We must live our lives fully, in the present moment.

To which Seteth replies :

You're right. That is what she always said, isn't it?

Now, it’s kind of sad that Flayn’s words about “turning back the clock” or a rough “can’t turn back” echoes to... well, what Billy and moreover Sothis was able to do and perform - Nopes confirmed Flayn never knew Sothis (or rather the inverse), so she might only have heard about Sothis healing the world, but for people who were around when Sothis did this?

Sothis can effectively “turn back the clock”, that’s her main power (at least that we hear of)!

But the person who told him/them those words is actually... Flayn’s mother! Something like “you can’t return to the past, so live now to the fullest” and this is what anchors him in the present - despite Sothis’ powers, Seteth prefers to believe in his wife’s words and live -

Which is, imo, nice, but we see him turning his back on those principles in Tru Piss, hiding or going far far away, ergo refusing to “live to the fullest” if it means continuing existing, something both he and Flayn accept - when Flayn’s character arc and supports is all about her wanting to “live” and not be hidden and living in seclusion ever again.

Does it mean Rhea didn’t buy her sister in law’s words? Or she did, but stopped believing in them afterwards (Lycaon’s death, when she leaves the Empire and starts on the rez Sothis plan)?

Koyasu’s pause feels longer (around 2 seconds instead of 1,5?) which imo conveys more the fact that with this pause, Seteth is obviously thinking about a certain someone...

(But it’s a Fodlan Game, moreover FE16, so Seteth can’t talk to her and moreover, while being aware of her longing and regrets, can’t do anything about not even talking about it because, uh, red herrings and earl grey).
