Roughly seven lines from What Big Teeth You Have, a werewolf fic. Both Young and Telford showing their Bad Traits™ 😬

"And mouthy," David responded glibly. "Bet he's got a nice collection of bruises for that. Hasn't he." Shame flashed through Young at the reminder of how he'd behaved towards a civilian. It wasn't honourable, what he'd done, but Rush had been so rude and aggressive, managing to press all of Young's buttons effortlessly. After the first time, the man should have had the brains to stop running his mouth, knowing what the consequences would be if he continued. But he hadn't stopped and neither had Young. "I just wanted to protect you," he tried, knowing he sounded more than a little defensive. "I never asked you to!" David instantly snapped, anger flooding the room as if a switch had been flipped.
