decided to pick the dragon prince back up . i dont kno how i didnt realize how "atla but western fantasy and with some gay people" it was till now
#cherryz txt#i mean workplace abuse stories from a couple years ago aside its like . alright#fantasy racism is as fantasy racism does but the characters are fun#some of the writing has forced conflict vibes and some of the voice acting feels like it couldve used like another take#but overall its telling the story it wants to and im interested in where the characters are heading#i will say . i remember loving sorren and hes cool i like him still. but he is just white sokka.#spoilers but he gets a dragon pal that he gets to fly by saying yip yip#idk if he Keeps the drake or if it was just for a Bit but like#i swear it was the same fucking interaction sokka had w appa when they were looking for aang in book 1#ykno the line where sokkas like . what was it he said? uhh yippe kayay? and then he finally says yip yip and its liftoff#literally thje same interaction but w sorren LOL#considering theres been mumblings of a new avatar series after korra coming out i like cant be surprised i think#atla has been raved about for years and years and w the 2020s' late capitalist hellscape of media banking on nostalgia#with reboot and sequel after reboot and sequel shafting new creatives in favor of appealing to sweaty 20-somethings#it just kinda lines up . less an issue w the show itself and more an issue with the industry probably#this entire ramble is mostly about 1 gag in 1 scene but sorrens overall character is a sort of middling white sokka#and i loooove sokka so ofc i like sorren. its just like . copying someones homework but worded a lil differently#i think sorren is more of a prettyboy jock than sokka is but its like different flavors of the same guy . yk???#bah idk . old man yells at cloud ig !#im having fun and thats what matters or w/e.#what really inspired me to make this post is a character who ive been enjoying just came out as trans#and it was a really awkwardly put in there scene. i love u terry its so funny u had to come out this way#so funny the show had to tell us viren isnt transphobic like this . go king give us allyship <3#anyway i wonder what elf transition healthcare is like#update: TERRY YOUR HE/HIM PUSSY IS WORTH MORE THAN THIS LEAVE HERRRR
