did i have to study? yes

did i binge watch an anime i found on tiktok because one of the characters was pretty and regretted it? also yes.

*this post will contain massive spoilers for the first season of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale*

ok so this starts out cute right? there are a girl with an ambition to make candies, a pretty tsundere warrior fairy and a dude who gave me the ick (with reason). basically this girl buys this fairy because she needs a bodyguard, fair. that bitchass of a boy Jonas that gave me the ick proved himself to be a bastard after he betrayed Ann (the girl that wants to make candy) and stole her candy to win a competition (nobody won).

now, onto the following year. everything was going well but of course nothing can go well for once, we need the drama, we need the angst. so of course everyone now hates her because she is a girl, because she is good at making candies, and because she caused a ruckus at the previous year's competition. also, there's a shortage of the apples to make the silver sugar used in candies. great. so she is forced to work in an extremely misogynistic place and almost risk her hands because a dude was jelous, beautiful.

and of course we couldn't have the fairy and the protagonist just be happy as they discover their love for each other, oh no. so they introduced this girl, i don't even remember her name. i knew this girl was trouble from the moment i saw her. stuck up, annoying and entitled.. just lovely. she tries to steal the fairy and SHE FUCKING SUCCEEDS. and wanna know why? because that stupid boy loved Ann so much that he gave up his freedom for her to be able to achieve her dream of becoming a Silver Sugar Master.

now, the first season ended on an extremely pathetic note, with Ann uselessly trying to go after the cart of the other girl that took her fairy. i hope they get back together in the second season otherwise i might throw everything away.
