Hello! ❤ For the OC ask:
11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?
41. Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first?
(For all your OCs :D)
Hello hiiii!!! 💖
Thank for sending the ask this was incredibly fun to think about, and sorry for the delay, life's been a bit crazy :'D
This ended up long af because I am physically incapable of giving short answers <3
11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?
ELIZABETH It was early on in her adventure, when she still thought herself kind of invincible (because [spoilers from ch5!] Fen'Harel himself can't lay harm to her due to their bargain, so she thinks if he can't hurt me, nothing else can, right?). Elizabeth believed that despite her rough landing, she now had everything in her favor, she has the knowledge of what's to come, knows the people who will join the future Inquisition, what could go wrong? But then! Everything goes wrong, there's Leliana's dagger to her throat (her fault) and a pissed-off Commander (her fault too) ready to lung at her, and Solas is the room doing shit-ass to stop them, there's magic gathered in her hands and she lets all them know she's never been to a Circle. She knows she fucked up badly, Cullen can and is willing to at least smite her ass to oblivion (and Fen'Harel' reverse-fursona is still not moving a single finger to help her), and she knew if a miracle didn't happen in the next three seconds, she was in for a very painful time.
ADAHLVHER LAVELLAN
The night Elizabeth nearly tackled him and his mom in her hurry, eyes wide shifting between amber and an eerie blue, the only words spilling from her mouth being a loop of Resilience's urgent, angry "We need to fucking hurry" and Elizabeth's whispered sobs of "I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry". It wasn't until the three of them, followed by Compassion and Solas were riding way into the night that her words started making sense, and then he almost wished she did not. By then he had enough of her uncanny accuracy to know better than to doubt it, and dread like no other gnawed further on his bones with each mile of snowy ground eaten by their hart's hooves. The clan was in danger. And it might be entirely too late to do anything but mourn.
ORNAY ADAAR It was during the final fight with Corypheus. Not because of the high af stakes, the weight of the saving the whole world now or never, the facing of the whole ass darkspawn guy. It was three seconds after Corypiss had been disposed of, and there was a very real, still wound up from the battle abomination/mage/dragon, with several bones to pick with them, currently staring them down with blood-lust in that unsettling glowing eyes of hers. The deed was done, the world was saved, the party was exhausted and definitely not ready to fight a dragon if Elizabeth wanted to end things then and there, to send them back to Andraste in a bite or two. And indeed, no one was fast enough or able to stop her from lunging, nor shaking them like a mabari's toy, or biting off their Maker damned whole Anchor arm. And the moment between accepting their gruesome end and wondering of she'd go at them them limb by limb, or show some mercy and be done with it was the worst, most terrifying ten seconds of their life.
FERIAN LAVELLAN Easily right after the fall of Haven, when he had to climb the mountain in a snowstorm, beaten to an inch of his life and depleted of mana. He would have given in to Despair in the tunnel, was it not for the Anchor flaring up and opening a rift. Survival instinct and a great deal of guilt for not even trying to go ahead, home to his husband were the only things putting his feet one in front of the other. He was afraid of many things that night. Afraid he'd never see his family again, that he would been seen as a coward and a deserter for never showing up at the survivor's camp, and that his clan would suffer the backlash. Afraid for all the people he promised to, but he'd never get the chance to help. Afraid that now that the Breach was closed, no one would come looking for him in the snow, there was no need for an apostate elf now. Afraid of the Dread Wolf howling in the snowstorm. Afraid to die alone. Afraid to be afraid and be finally snatched by the Despair still trailing after him. He was so scared.
41. Does your character feel that they deserve to have what they want, whether it be material or abstract, or do they feel they must earn it first?
ELIZABETH Ooboy, here's a damaged one. She believes down to her core that she must fight tooth, nail and blood to get something, anything she wants. It doesn't matter if the thing is a roof over her head or half a crumb of affection. If she's not battered (physically, emotionally, both?) by the time whatever gets handed over to her, in her mind it means she didn't earn it. In best case, there's a catch to it. In the worst, was given out of pity. It is a toxic trait stemming from her upbringing. Her parental figure happening to be someone who had no business being around developing humans (even less raising one) left some unpleasant roots behind. Thankfully, she does gets better at it!
ADAHLVHER LAVELLAN Our resident tongue twister named boy is kind of neutral. While he does believe he deserves the things he wants, Adah has no problem in showing himself worthy of things he thinks need a bit of proving. He will not perform or beg for things he knows are his just for the fact he’s existing - like respect -, but will have no issues at all fighting (or brawling) to remind people he will have nothing less than he deserves. Mama Lavellan raised her kid to know his worth, and he took all the notes <3
ORNAY ADAAR I'm gonna hc here that Post-Breach + Cory, if you open a dictionary and look up conceited, there will be a painting/drawing of their face beside the definition lmao Ornay believes things should be handed to them simply because they want it, no effort needed, thanks. Oh why? They are Andraste's chosen, the one chosen by the Maker himself to secure the fate of the world! Of course they deserve everything of good they wish for <3 They might sound like a prick (and might as well be one, tbh), but their entitlement issues stem from the same root as Elizabeth's - being raised by someone who had zero business on doing it -. Even if the position + amount of influence combo handed during the Inquisition did little to foster some humility in them, they too, get better at the end of it all.
