(Repost) Comms still up with 8 slots, 3 for busts, 3 for half body, and 2 for full body! Each listing also allows for up to one extra character to be added on at half price!
***If you don't want to commission me that's also fine i'd apreciate just a regular kofi dono or just sharing this around bc my finances are low, I've been averaging on $20 a month and struggling to pay hospital bills from earlier this year. i will also be considering opening a google doc or some other order form to allow payments via cashapp if there's any interest. Anyways heres a general breakdown of the pricing system and my will's/wont's under the cut:
So how do I (you, the buyer) choose what I want?
SO when you open up the request form it should look something like this!
Tumblr media
We're using the bust order as our example here. At its base price, $15, it is set for the black and white option. If this is what you would like, then you don't have to worry about the add ons at all and you go straight to submitting your request! Now, if you're choosing add ons, it'll look something like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first would be an example of an order of a flat color bust + an extra character bust with flat coloring as well. The color option adds the extra $10 (to match the listed price on the poster for $25), and the extra character with flat coloring adds half of that $25 to the order (well a little less bc i knocked off the .50 cents) which is why it comes out to $37.
The second would be an example of a black and white bust order with an added black and white bust character. This just adds an extra $7 to the price totaling $22.
What will you (the artist, me Brutus) draw?
If you want me to draw your oc or fanart of your favorite character I GOT U!!!
I'm also comfortable drawing blood and gore though I'll have to keep it on the lighter side (I enjoy blood if it isnt obvious by my url though so depending on what you want we might be able to go a little further with that).
I can do characters with armor as well, however I will require a reference of some sort from you, the client, as I'm frankly not going to attempt armor off the dome. I won't design armor myself either.
Pinups (not full nsfw due to how much of a struggle it is to navigate different site policies) and other suggestive works are also a-ok! a tity does not bother me if that wasn't made clear by my commission card šŸ‘šŸ½
What will you (the artist, me Brutus) NOT draw?
Im not comfortable trying to draw real people as of right now sorry! I'm just not really a caricature or realistic portrait artist but this may change in the future.
I also won't do furry/anthro just because that isn't my forte as I haven't practiced drawing animalistic characters. There r plenty of talented furry artists for you to choose from and I could talk to someone to guide you to a few .
(I CAN do more humanoid fantasy characters however. like mermaids, satyrs, etc)
More extreme gore and body horror is also off the table. (so like spilling guts stuff like that)
I may love mecha but as it is like armor and a bit more extreme, I'm not drawing it sorry. And also as stated above I'm not drawing armor regardless without a good reference.
Certain fandoms are a no-go for me due to my own comfort. A quick list would be: mogeko games, omori, south park, hetalia, attack on titan, mcyt, hazbin hotel/helluva boss. if you're not sure just ask!
I reserve the right to decline any comission request for any reason. Getting paid is nice but my comfort is nicer yknow.
And that should cover everything! If you still need to ask me anything, my messages are open. Thank you so much for reading and a little extra thank you if you decide to commission me ā¤ļø

Ok this might seem random but as someone who wants to become a historian can I get some advice on how to go about it? Iā€™m currently just a first year perusing my bachelors in history and plan to get my masters etc but after that idks what to do
Hi Anny,
Oh boy I thank you for asking me this but honestly I am struggling myself here. But there is some advice I can give that I personaly wish I would have done more of during school that will be helpful (hopefully) in the job market.
1. Don't be prideful, if you are struggling ask for help. Even if you are not struggling your resume and cover letters can always be better. ( I personally struggle with this the most #prideb4thefall)
2. Speaking of which, build those references. Make friends with your profs. In general being able to network is very good. Hate to say it but even in academia you are a product, you must sell yourself.
3. Get those experience points! Work with your school by doing research, volunteer, internship, tutor, ect. I really cannot emphasize this enough...
4. If possible, having another language is great.
5. Join clubs, it's just nice to hang out with other history (anthro/museum/etc.) Majors. I learned just as much from my peers as I did from my instructors.
6. Even if you don't need a focus, pick a focus. It'll make it easier for research in the future
I hope this was helpful and it wasn't overwhelming.
I love history and despite my frustrations I cannot be regretful for my time, so, at the end of the day I think it's really important to enjoy yourself!

I wanted to practice my antho drawing skills (also convincing myself to draw more fanart) with characters I donā€™t usually draw, so... (some of) Markiplierā€™s characters as anthros. I may do more of these characters, as this is (to my count) only a little over half (still counting the Cyndago characters) Species are labelled in the captions. Assorted comments below. These can also be found onĀ my DeviantARTĀ page.
Darkiplier & Wilford Warfstache
1) I was cackling the entire time I drew this because the thought of Dark being just. So short in comparison to most of the others is hilarious to me. Like-- imagine he's trying to yell at Wilford or someone for getting a knife stuck in the wall or something, but he just. He has to like, crane his neck to try to meed their eyes--
2) Wilford is a wolfdog becauseĀ I thought to myself, "What is the least stable canine?ā€, and from there, which of them can have a sort of pink-ish tint (though it ended up being more grey-purple)? Wolfdogs, horribly unstable and potentially a kind of lilac color, were a perfect fit.
3) Darkiplier is an oncilla because I figured he should be a feline of some kind, but not something super threatening from a physical standpoint (as he seems to be more inclined to manipulation than brute force), so a small feline it was - and oncillas are cool (and not something I often draw).
The King of the Squirrels
1) The King of the Squirrels is a red squirrel because... well, I think being a squirrel is pretty self-explanatory, but heā€™s a red squirrel, specifically, because they match his color scheme rather well (and theyā€™re interesting animals).
2)Ā I was initially going to draw the King of the Squirrels with the Jims, but I soon realized that, as I struggle with drawing both hooved animals (the Jims being deer) and squirrels, that would be a bad choice. Unfortunately, this means King is the only one drawn alone.
The Jims
1) The Jims are both whitetail deer because deer are herd animals - something that the Jims could be considered, since (to my knowledge) weā€™ve never seen them apart. Theyā€™re whitetails, specifically, because the angles of the antlers (being curved with points arranged in a way sort of resembling a candelabrum) are... challenging, and these drawings were meant to be practice for me.
2) I thought it be funny if the reporter Jimā€™s microphone wasnā€™t actually attached to anything, despite being a plug-in microphone, so you can see the cord looped around his antlers, the plug head just. Hanging there.
3) The camera-having Jimā€™s camera is like that because the only reference I could find for a big camera was that kind. I tried to find a news camera, but, for whatever reason, I couldnā€™t so, uh. I guess he just has an old photographersā€™ camera here.
Bing & Google
1) Bing is a king cheetah because theyā€™re very anxious animals, and can only run at full speed for a few moments before they have to stop. Also because I wanted to work with his orange-y color scheme, and cheetahs can be close to that.
2) Google is an african lion because I felt that a feline would be fitting, and the sort of... superiority complex lions tend to be portrayed (in media) as having worked well. Lions are also notoriously vicious to each other and other animals, so I figured that fit, too, with Googleā€™s genocidal tendencies. African lion, specifically, because asiatic lions just arenā€™t as imposing (and those are the only two options I considered at the time - though I know there are other species).
3) Bing, the disaster he is, is doing doubleĀ ā€œokayā€ symbols and wearing daisy dukes. The daisy dukes are mostly because I thought the contrast between him (tank top, cut-off shorts) and Google (respectable t-shirt and slacks), beyond color scheme and the obvious browser logos, would be funny. Also because the concept of ordering an android and having it show up like... that is hilarious to me.
4) Google is about three seconds from decking Bing.
Bim Trimmer & Yandereplier
1) Bim Trimmer is a cross-type fox because heā€™s suitably conniving and the color scheme fits well. Also because foxes (in media) tend to be portrayed as flirts, and his obvious crush (?) on one of the game show contestants gives that sort of vibe.
2) Yandereplier is a wolfdog for much of the same reason Wilford is - theyā€™re unpredictable and dangerous. Also, again, the sort of lilac-y coloration is nice. I also thought canines being social animals (but also prone to going rogue) would be fitting.
3) I didnā€™t know who to draw either of them with, so they ended up being drawn together - whatā€™s happening here, Iā€™m not sure, only that Yandereā€™s blood splattered, and Bimā€™s terrified (despite being a... frightening individual, himself). Heā€™s got a cross because nothing else (both arms down, one hand in a ā€œstopā€ gesture, etc.) seemed to look right (also because ā€œcross fox with a crossā€ is fun to say).

Happy December 3rd!! How was your day? What do you want for Christmas?
HAPPY DECEMBER 3rd Santa 1. London is my favourite city.. If I could live there in an instant Iā€™d pack my stuff and go.Ā
Tumblr media
2. As you know by now Iā€™m aĀ Leather crafter. I love making bags, despite getting taught to make shoes as well. I managed to pass the certificate for shoe making quite recently but Iā€™m so relieved I no longer have TO DO IT.Ā 3. Iā€™m a hugeĀ Ray lover.Ā Some months ago I wanted to just make something nice for myself and saw all these lovely enamel pins going around on Etsy and twitter! I figured, I want a fun unique backpack so I made this ray bag.Ā Maybe on twitter youā€™ve seen them pass by :D I post it on twitter and it went viral and now. I even have a small business that I love having! Isnā€™t that crazy?! I am just a lover for stingrays mainly. I have no idea why either! When I was young it just.. They stuck to me hahahaĀ
Tumblr media
4. Phantom/ Erik is my favourite out of all, aside cosplaying him.. I just love his dept and struggles that he has.. Poor thing. I JUST WANT TO GIVE HIM A HUG.Ā 5. Iā€™m a big tea drinker. I mainly love fennel, but whenever I can find rose tea. Iā€™m sold. I recently found rose with vanilla and boy. Did I enjoy that. I usually order from fortnum and Maison to get all special tea from England. Yeah, Iā€™m that bad.Ā 6. I LOVE. Roses, candles. Pretty much anything that connects with phantom or just close with the aesthetic! Hence why my Anthro character is inspired mainly by roses and the colors red, dark grey and white.Ā 7. Despite I dislike the word, Iā€™m that involved to call myself a furry? (I make suits too, just very occasionally for myself). I wouldnā€™t say I would ever scream it off the rooftops but I have to say the friends I have in the community make it worth it. Its a dramatic community at times.Ā 8. Iā€™m a BIGĀ Musical lover. Iā€™ve seenĀ phantom (Close to 20 times by now), Matilda, Sunset Boulevard, Cats, Shrek, Thriller Live, wicked, sound of music, the lion king, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the Bodyguard.. I still believe I miss some ;-;9. I make costumes, as youā€™ve seen before 20. Iā€™m on anĀ Academy of leather bags and shoes21. Iā€™m aĀ Libra, so I doubt over everything. Perhaps this is why I find it SO hard to figure anything!22. When it comes to sweets, I love foreign shit and SOUR stuff. Ā 23. Iā€™m a HUGE fan of Next gen, the movie from Netflix! I even made a bag specifically to a character from it! Iā€™m so addicted to it all but I love everything about it.. PLUSĀ Japan aesthetic oh yesI hope that helps anon

The Longest Sail EVER (Uruguay to Cape Town)
On January 13th, 2017, the Gulden Leeuw left for a grand adventure of our 34-day sail. The thought of starting this voyage scared me half to death because I am the biggest familyā€™s girl youā€™ll ever meet. My family is full of my best friends and I didnā€™t want to leave them for a month. However, with the help of my newly found family on the ship, I learned that even a 34-day sail can be full of fun and adventure. Moving back on the ship was surprisingly very easy. I thought it would be a stressful process, but it took maybe an hour. Also, the boys and girls got to switch sides in the dorms, which means we get the better air conditioned side! I can use my blankets every nightā€¦ I bet the boys can too because the South Atlantic is SO COLD, but stillā€¦ Itā€™s such a nice feeling. Also, last semester, my bed was one of the closest to the ceiling. When I raised my elbow, it would hit the ceiling, so there was NO WAY Iā€™d possibly ever be able to sit up and most nights Iā€™d hit my head on the ceiling. But no longer do I suffer with a tiny sleeping area. My bunk this semester is still a top bunk, but the ceiling is higher and I can actually move as I please. Itā€™s heaven.
We met our new maritime crew the day we came back to the ship on the 10th of January. Theyā€™re a group of amazing people and so many of them are from the States. I havenā€™t been around so many Americans in a very long time. I very much enjoy being around people from all over the world (itā€™s probably the coolest thing about CAF), but it was cool to meet people who live closer to me than others.
Our watch groups were changed this semester and man do I love Watch 6. Svea, Elizabeth, Haylee, Brody, and Klaus are some of the best people to hang out with on watch at 4 to 6 in the morning.
On the 18th of January, I was writing in my journal saying ā€œā€¦weā€™re on our way to Tristan! I really hope we getā€¦ā€ And I just stopped writing because I then wrote, ā€œAAAAND I totally lost my train of thought because there were a bunch of pilot whales SO close to the ship.ā€ Thatā€™s the cool thing about Class Afloat. Youā€™re excused from class when there are whales, dolphins, sharks, turtles, etc. Itā€™s a crazy thing to think about and I canā€™t imagine what living on land is going to be like after experiencing this. Anyways, what I was going to say in my journal was I really hope we get to make it to Tristan Da Cuhna. (Spoiler alertā€¦ We made it to Tristan! But Iā€™ll talk about that in a bit.)
On Jan. 21st, a bunch of us were watching High School Musical 2 and you better believe we sang our hearts out. Iā€™ve never met a group of people who understand my love for HSM. Watching the second movie brought me back to when we were in UNEDCO in Spain and we watched the 1st movie in the building we had our classes in. Itā€™s crazy to think that we had a month off the ship and now itā€™s been a month at sea (with a short stop in Tristan). Before watching HSM2, itā€™s Meganā€™s clumsy story of the dayā€¦ I had just gotten out of galley and I was taking the massive container of rags to the laundry room to start cleaning them. I was walking and the second I stepped on the tile floor, which was super slippery that day, my right foot slipped right across my left leg and I tripped myself. I landed ONLY on my right knee with not only my own weight, but with this darn container of rags. It hurt SO bad, but I ignored it while watching HSM2 because that felt more important at the time. The next day I realized I couldnā€™t bend my legā€¦ Whoops. I went (limped) to the Medical Officer, Chris, and he put me on the ā€œless physical work boardā€ because walking was a struggle for a solid 48 hours. It took longer than that for the swelling to go down, but I could walk like a semi-normal person after the 1st 2 days. For the time I was crippled, I was walking like a had a peg leg. It was kind of funny, but extremely painful.
The next day (the 22nd), there was an all hands call for a job on deck and, even though I was still injured, I just did an easy job. Butā€¦ It happened to be Sunday Dinner that day and we were all dressed nice. My skirt was NOT happy in the strong wind outside. It takes skill to haul on a line and hold down your skirt at the same time, but the girls managed it really well so props to us.
On the 24th, we saw at least 4 sperm whales. They were beautiful (and insanely close to the ship). Seeing marine mammals never gets old. Later that day, there was an announcement over the loud speaker that simply said, ā€œbig whale on starboard side.ā€ I had been having a rough couple of days in terms of mental health so itā€™s things like that that make me cheer up a bit. I hadnā€™t gotten out of bed that quickly in a whiiiile. Also, donā€™t worry familyā€¦ I get a little down every now and then because I get impatient waiting to talk to you guys. I cheer up when crazy stuff happens, but sometimes you just want to call your family. The Southern Atlantic, however, does not have cell service. I also found out that morning that I got accepted as a Teacherā€™s Apprentice for the Anthropology 12 class. Everyone can apply to whatever they want to be on the ship as an apprentice and I knew being a teacherā€™s apprentice would be more my speed compared to something maritime related. Iā€™m so proud of my work for Anthro!
JANUARY 27TH! My 19th birthday! I am now a 19-year-old and it happened on a ship in the middle of the Southern Atlantic Ocean. How cool is that?! Lindsey, Iā€™m definitely not 8 anymore. In fact, Iā€™m now DOUBLE that. I know, itā€™s crazy to think about. I got bucketed like what normally happens on peoplesā€™ birthdays and oh my gosh it was cold. I have a video of it because I didnā€™t want to get bucketed with cold water and not be able to make fun of myself later on.
Time to talk about TRISTAN. Some sailorā€™s only dream of making it to Tristan because sometimes the wind/weather doesnā€™t let you anchor outside of their small, isolated home. But we made it! With a lot of hard work, we got to anchor outside of Tristan on the 29th of January, which was earlier than expected, but thatā€™s the window of good weather we had and this crew made it happen. I went aloft (to just below the lower topsail) with John, Kyle, and Liz. I was a little scared, but the waters were calm and we were anchored so I felt confident enough to make it up there. The view of Tristan was breathtaking. We actually went onto Tristan on the 30th and I saw a ROCKHOPPER PENGUIN the second I stepped onto the island. I was in love. I sent some post cards to my family that I hope make it there soon. We visited the school that very few kids attend (considering thereā€™s only about 280 people on the whole island). We got the chance to play ACTUAL BASKETBALL with a few of the kids and I didnā€™t realize how much I missed throwing things and running around, two things that are prohibited on the ship. We got the chance to climb the volcano that erupted in 1961 and I got some BEAUTIFUL pictures. We only had one afternoon on Tristan so it was over way too quickly, sadly. We made our way back to the ship on the dinghy and set sail the next day on the 31st.
In the beginning of February, I began to prepare my lesson for the Anthropology lesson I would be teaching regarding Sex and Gender. Being the teacherā€™s apprentice for Anthropology has been a blast and when the time came to teach my 55-minute lesson, I felt 100% prepared. It went extremely well because not only did I work hard on the presentation, but sex and gender is a topic I know a lot about (self-taught because little Megan and current Megan are constantly curious about how that stuff works). Everyone told me that I did a good job and they feel like they learned a lot about sexual orientations, romantic orientations, and gender versus sex.
On board, mostly throughout this long sail, a game known as Jungle Speed has been spreading like wildfire. Itā€™s a hit amongst individuals on the ship who have to get some pent-up energy out. Itā€™s a game that involves a lot of yelling. Weā€™ve actually drawn blood playing this game because itā€™s so intense when you have to be the first to grab something. Itā€™s harder to explain through text, but consider playing it one day. Iā€™m for sure going to force it upon my family.
In mid-February, we had a handover day, which means the students take over the ship while the maritime crew gets the day off. They keep an eye on us just in case, but I think we were pretty successful that day and the other handovers that have happened throughout the year. Every handover day (at the time Iā€™m writing this, weā€™ve only had two, but another one is coming up), we fly the huge pirate flag that we have onboard. Itā€™s the small things that make things like this fun. Even though I wasnā€™t acting as a maritime crew member, because I was a teacherā€™s apprentice, it was still fun for me to watch my friends be captain, 1st and 2nd officer, engineer, ABs, and bosun. You get a really strong proud feeling when your student crew can take over the ship for a full 24 hours.
On February 13th, we anchored outside of Cape Town and all anyone could think of was ā€œFINALLY!ā€ This was a parent port so many of us had been anticipating seeing our families. I had not seen my sisters since I left in September. We had to anchor until the 16th and I was growing impatient having to wait for 3 days to see my best friends. My siblings are my best friends so seeing my sisters was a big deal. I cannot thank Chris enough for bringing them with him to Cape Town because, not only did I get to see them, they got to experience something outside of our normal life in the United States. Travelling is something I believe everyone should do and I am so glad my sisters got to go to Cape Town, one of my favorite ports.
I enjoyed our long sail, but we sometimes tend to go a little crazy waiting for land to appear on the horizon. One of the most interesting things Iā€™ve learned is that you can smell land when you approach it after so many days at sea.
Thank you for reading this VERY LATE (sorry about that) and very long post. Iā€™ve been putting off typing about this passage for quite some time because of the length I knew it would be, but here it is!
<3 - Megan
