"What's Up You Guys It's Me, Bdenbrough!" - Quarry Vlog ft. MY FRIENDS
Summary: Bill films a short video with Stan, Eddie and Richie at the quarry.
Chap 1 + AO3 + My Masterlist
Taglist: @fuckboykaspbrak @thesquidliesthuman @starboystan @rachi0964 @ahoybyeler @beepbeep-losers @bigbilliamdenbro @jalenrose1122 @sleepygaybrough @itandstrangerthingsfanfic @boopboopbichie @peachywyatt @aizeninlefox @sockwantstodie @chaotictozier
Bill looks down at himself in the camera viewfinder, chewing his lip anxiously before he even turns it on. He clicks the on button, toying with the straps of his swimsuit top.
"Hey g-guys! It's m-me, bdenbrough," he says with a small smile, pushing his ponytailed hair off his shoulder to hang down his back instead. "Today I'm d-doing a vl-vl-vlog!" He announces, still looking a little uncomfortable filming this intro.
"You're g-going to m-meet my friends, we're gonna sw-swim at the quarry today," he explains, picking up the camera to hold it up in line with his face.
"S-sorry for not u-uploading for s-so long, m-my parents d-don't know ab-bout m-my channel and they're o-out today. They're t-taking Georgie t-to the dentist, he's s-such a l-little booger," Bill chuckles, smirking playfully for the camera.
He starts walking down the stairs, huffing right into the camera unprofessionally. He reaches the bottom slipping on his pink flip flops that his mom had purchased for him at the local Payless shoe store.
He smiles to the camera. "N-now for the walk t-to the quarry," he smiles, turning the camera clumsily away from his face to the view ahead of him, planning hopefully to put some music over this part.
He films past town, nearly tripping over his slightly too big sandals. His mom is all about buying them big so they'll fit for longer, though they never seem to last to the point of fitting just right before he goes through another sudden growth spurt.
He pays specific attention to filming the trees and the squirrels and sometimes zooming in far onto towns people's faces if he thought their expression was silly. He finds that filming makes everything more interesting because now he's thinking about entertaining more than just himself, which by default makes him notice more things that could be entertaining.
He finally arrives at the quarry, his frizzy curls hopefully still held back in the loose ponytail he'd rushed out before he'd left the house. He walks up, being the only one there so far. Richie probably being distracted by random small animals, Stan likely paying close attention to the cracks in the sidewalk, and Eddie's mom probably being her awful self and venting to him all the reasons he shouldn't hang out with this group of kids.
Bill settles himself on the end of the cliff's edge, filming the sparkle the sun leaves on the water. He even slips off his flip flops and sets them on the dirt ground behind himself, kicking his feet on camera, showing the audience his chipped toenail polish that he's really tried to remove but failed miserably.
He hears some talking behind him, turning quickly, stopping the camera and putting it on the ground quickly so he could explain to what seems to be Eddie and Stan what his goal is today. "H-hey guys!" He says, pushing himself to his feet to greet them.
"Nice swimsuit," Eddie teases, poking Bill's bare but fully freckled shoulder. He knows Bill isn't very feminine for what he considers a girl, them still only being around ten years old. He's always surprised to see Bill in the forced pink that he only wears when it's his only option.
Bill sticks out his tongue in response, "I'm t-taking some video t-today for my YouTube ch-channel, is th-that okay?" He asks, not wanting to post something without their permission, though he plans to edit it to show them best.
"Yeah, as long as my mother can't see it," Eddie chuckles, taking his shirt off carefully, slipping off his own sandals to be ready for the water.
"Where's the trashmouth? It's too quiet," Stan chuckles softly to himself, his sense of humor too mature for most of his friends to understand. He's a lot like his mother, quiet and sophisticated, and he makes the same jokes.
"He's probably trying to ch-chase a squirrel," Eddie giggles, covering his mouth with a cupped hand that only amplifies and muffles the sound of his childish laughter.
Stan joins in laughing, nudging Eddie with his shoulder, "God, you're an ass," he says in a hushed voice, looking around them in the irrational fear that somehow an adult could hear them.
Just then, as if he could sense he was being talked about, the unruly blonde boy pops up into the clearing, "Ya miss me?" He calls to the group, patting Eddie's bare shoulder just a little too hard in his excitement.
"Speak of t-the devil," Bill laughs to himself, pushing Richie slightly away from Eddie for his shorter friend's own good.
"Asshole!" Eddie shrieks, pushing Richie himself, having always been firey and good at defending himself despite the fact that Richie never means harm, he's just a bit too much sometimes.
Bill walks over to grab his camera quickly, hoisting it up onto his shoulder to point at his three best friends. "S-say hi to th-the camera y-you dinguses," he giggles.
Richie immediately brightens, throwing his hands up in excitement, "Who's this video for?" He asks loudly, already making faces and trying to look handsome for the camera.
"Y-youtube," Bill tells him with a sure nod, "To m-make us famous," he jokes, turning the camera to Stan and Eddie next. "Th-these are Stan and E-Eddie, they're my other fr-friends," he tells, the smile evident in his voice.
Richie grins, "Roight my fine friends," he says, patting Stan and Eddie's backs, tearing off his shirt and shoes and immediately making a mad dash for the cliff, gesturing to Bill to film him jumping down to the water below. He doesn't look as cool as he wants to, flailing and screaming loud enough for the camera to pick up.
Everyone on the ground still starts giggling madly as soon as they hear him clumsily belly flop onto the surface of the water with a low groan. They walk up carefully to look over the edge at him, Bill letting the camera view the scene as well.
"Y'g-good, Richie?" Bill calls, creasing his eyebrows when it takes a few moments for Richie to pop back up from the water.
Richie dramatically shoots up from the water with a teasing grin, "Haha! Got you!" He shouts, feeling entirely like he's the most hilarious dude of Earth for scaring them.
"Asshole!" Eddie yells, cupping his hands over his mouth to amplify his sound
"Bitch boy!" Bill yells, a usual insult of his, which is what the girls at school often calls the boys and he's eventually picked up on.
Stan is quiet, still working through the original worry, working through it as if he's in a state of grief about it, he really does care about his friends more than he lets on.
Eddie looks to his right, "You good, Stanny?" He asks softly, putting his hand on Stan's shoulder which makes him jump a little before taking a deep breath.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he says with a sweet smile back to him, patting his shoulder in return, "Ready to jump?" He asks Eddie, his own type of playful smirk taking over his face.
Bill nods to them, stepping back with the camera upon his shoulder to get the scene on camera, smiling to them when he's ready, getting them jumping right off the cliff holding hands, it's quite aesthetic if Bill would say so himself.
Next, Bill shuts off the camera and sets it down, running his own to jump down and meet the others, feeling the water engulf him, the water filling his ears, making a face to himself as he pops back up.
They all look at each other with matching grins, nearly all splashing each other all at once, erupting into childish giggles, their favorite time of summer when they can all act like kids.
They spend hours and hours going crazy in the water. They dunk each other under, not doing it to Bill though because they've been told by their parents that they shouldn't, which gives Bill free game to jump them under the water all he wants without retaliation.
They get out of the water fully sunburnt, everyone but Eddie whose mother insisted in lathering him with the strong sunscreen she could find.
They rub at their backs, cringing at the soreness and the heat, Bill walks right up to the family camera that he uses to film, making sure his hands are dry. He aims it in front of his face, "Hi again! Th-the video was sh-short but taking a camera i-in the water means trouble," he says with a shy smile, looking back at the others, "g-guys! S-say bye to the s-subscribers with m-me!" He shouts, gesturing for them to come closer.
They all gather around, they always listen to Bill, he's always been a bit of a leader, simply for how demanding he can be. The all wave, attempting to all shout 'Bye!' at once but it ends as a layered chorus of chaos.
"See y-you next time," Bill says, going to shut the camera quickly, holding it close to himself for the walk home, slipping on his shoes again before saying real goodbyes to the group.

Okay, so I don't wanna make this sound like a loaded question, or to make an argument, but what do you think is missing from the Sw/Sh to make it a full game? It has a curry dex to add fill in, the wild area, bike races if you care about that thing, raids etc. The post game could've used a little something else, for sure. But I feel like (not you in particular) this is just a trend people have really latched onto. Compared to previous games, what is missing to make this a full experience?
The thing about SWSH is that the dev team had to transition from a handheld system and graphics to a completely different console and they weren’t given extra time to do that so the dev team had to cut corners in certain places, or cut down the scope of certain things just to get the game out on time, and not really do as much in it.
Everything is smaller with less to do. The routes are much MUCH shorter than they were in previous games. And the towns don’t really have much else in them besides houses, a gym, and a Pokemon center.
For example, in gen 3 you had:
-a completely optional and entirely separate competition structure that was based around pageants for your pokemon
-multiple separate pokemon fanclubs, with different things to DO in those fanclubs (remember the one club where you could change what people thought was hip and cool?)
-a huge department store
-collecting the shells for bells and things
-collecting ash to make glass items
-a casino where you could play minigames
-diving underwater to look in caves, as well as surfing around everywhere
-the weather lab
-the haunted tower that had all the graves
-secret bases!!!!
-the flower shop
-the power plant
-The mystery house
-an art museum
-a maritime museum!
- PC box customization
-hell you could even battle the roaming news crew and give them an interview that you would then see on tv later- compare that to the news crew in SWSH where they just battle you and that’s it.
Compare that to SWSH:
-no minigames beyond the three things you can do in the camp (make curry, play with ball, play with stick thing) and the racing game which is just “eh”
-The only independent, unique, structures outside of the towns are the two daycare places and the Professor’s house. Almost all of the “unique” buildings in the towns are plot related and don’t have anything to do after the plot has used them. There aren’t fan clubs, or multiple labs, or museums, or accessible observatories, or a etc. You can’t even physically go into a lot of the stores.
-you can’t customize your camp beyond changing the color of your tent.
-The routes themselves aren’t particularly fun or interesting. They take you from place “a” to place “b” and give you some Pokemon to battle against and that’s pretty much it. They don’t really have much extra to do or see along them. The routes also aren’t interwoven or connected to each other really.
-Spikemuth doesn’t even have any buildings you can go into! Just the Pokemon center!
-The most fun, creative extra thing you can do is make your league card and put on different outfits. Which is fun! I just wish we had more stuff like that.
Most of the previous Pokemon games felt like they took place in a world people actually lived in, whereas Galar feels paper thin and devoid of anything that doesn’t have directly to do with the main plotline.
Where’s the fanclubs that have NPCs with dialogue that changes as you progress through the story and win battles? Why can’t I ride the big, prominently displayed, ferris wheel in Wyndon? Why don’t the kiosks and little stores in the bigger train stations offer anything besides just a person to talk to and the same store you can find in a pokemon center? Why is the fossil person just a random scientist standing in the middle of nowhere; why doesn’t she have a lab? Why does the vault only have a bunch of tapestries, when we could have a whole big museum dedicated to Galarian history that could then flesh out the region’s history more and you could stick around and look at other things after it’s importance to the main quest has been fulfilled?
Why is there no power plant? No graveyard? Why can’t I go in the hot springs in that one town? Why can’t I go in the lighthouse? Why can’t I explore any of the ancient structures in the wild area? Where are all the extra puzzles and challenges that have nothing to do with the main story? Why can’t I even go into one of the daycare centers? There is a big mansion in Hammerlock, why can’t I explore it? HELL Hammerlock is a fucking CASTLE and I can’t explore it! Most parts of the city are completely inaccessible!
The game is all about becoming a famous trainer. So why can’t I manage a social media account like Raihan and post pictures on Pokegram or whatever and interact with my fanbase? Why can’t I give interviews that I can then watch on the TVs? Why are there no commentators or “sports anchor” types to interact with or do stuff with? Why can’t I do photoshoots with my pokemon for magazines or whatever?
All of this is the sort of stuff I would have been able to do if SWSH had followed the design philosophy of the previous games, and had the time to actually develop it.
The main quest is also very short and underdeveloped. It basically just is the gym challenge. Almost all of the exploration and fact finding and big confrontations happen off-screen and are handled by either Leon or Sophia.
Imagine if you actually had to deal with some of the Dynamax pokemon that randomly started showing up and causing trouble? Imagine if you, Marnie, and Hop ended up investigating Rose while trying to stay in the gym challenge? Like Sophia realized something was going on and had to turn to you guys to actually sneak around places because you were gym challengers and had access to places most people didn’t.
Imagine if the big conflict actually had something to DO WITH the gym challenge, considering the fact that the gym challenge takes up the main portion of the story? Like maybe Rose was using the gym challenge dynamax battles to harvest energy? Or he was using the challengers and their Pokemon for some nefarious purpose? Until literally the end of the game you don’t really have to diverge from the gym challenge to go deal with something somewhere else. And the post-game doesn’t take you to any new locations, either.
I don’t even care about the fact that not all the Pokemon are in the game. There are so many pokemon, not all of them need to be in every game. I can see people being upset about not being able to transfer their old pokemon to their newer games, but other than that those complaints are lost on me. I just wish the level of detail and the density of the content and activities was the same or greater in the $60 SWSH game as it was in the previous $40 Pokemon games.
Sorry this got so long, lol. I actually like SWSH a lot more than many other people do (mostly because I have an undying love for Hop, who is my favorite Pokemon rival of all time), it’s just there is no denying the fact that it could have done with another year or two of development.

sorry if this is annoying/u already answered this but how did you go about getting tickets?
18 days…it’s taken me 18 days to answer this because I am a literal menace and yeah health blah blah blah…but whenever i actually did find the time and energy to sit down and answer this i would get distracted and poof! there it goes…
BUT ANYWAY you’ve probably already like figured everything out because if you’re anything like me, you probably researched relentlessly and asked around and figured out that hey some info isn’t hard to find if you look in the right places with the right words and blah blah i talk too much
ANYWAY ANYWAY i got ticket to SW 2017 special edition in tokyo dome through the SM Global Package (an aggreagate of their current packages are found on their travel website here *make sure to create an account!!!!* and they also have a twitter which sends out updates about tours and packages that will open). I am going to tell you right here and right now and forever DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF PACKAGE YOU GET/WANT, THIS THING IS NOT CHEAP. IT WILL BREAK YOUR BANK IF YOU DO NOT PROPERLY PLAN/BUDGET. With that said, my package was a total of $979 x 2 because I bought a twin package (which i will talk more about later. wow i am on a roll with words today ^^), but i have seen packages for some tours that are as low as $250 and as high as $1010 (but there is a reason for this huge disparity that i’ve noticed and will comment on later). However, the price for each package includes hotel booking, transportation to and from the venue, and meals. it DOES NOT cover things your flight ticket!! I’m from the US of A. I want you guys to know that after everything…i ended up spending nearly $3k on this trip. (Now $2k was for the package and the flight ticket…but the extra $1k was me splurging on my unworthy friends and buying all the things i needed while in Japan like binoculars and food and souvenirs for myself because fuck i’m in SHINee land!)
Okay so #1 is PACKAGES. i bet you’re like wtf????? I’m gonna use Taemin’s Off Sick GP as an example.
Every single hmmm is it row or column??? ROW…every single row that you see is a package. These packages, at least for Korean concerts, are grouped by type (deluxe, superior, or economy) and by the number of people attending (single or twin). The single or twin option is actually more for your hotel room booking than anything else. Which is why Twin packages are cheaper by person than singles. They are also divided by “Course”. This is what that means:
Course A and B are always the exact same except for the concert date. (which is why i didn’t include it in the top picture). So essentially for packages, you show up the day before, check in to your hotel, get your nice shi*t, sleep, wake up, eat breakfast if you want (it’s freeee), and then meet up to travel to the concert, go crazy, go back to your hotel, sleep, and if you’re lucky to get a C course, do it all again the next day whoop! The number of courses depend on how many concert dates there are. SM usually always only starts out with the standard two day concert, and then LATER as if it’s some big surprise…will add another day or two. If they do add another day or two and you already purchased a course C GP, no you cannot just have them add the extra dates. You would literally have to buy another GP. DO NOT DO THAT. At that point you’re already in Korea and there’s always people selling extra tickets at the venue the day of a concert or whatever. Just buy a ticket from a local.
Every GP buyer gets this cool benefit where they get to pre-order goods and idk about yall but i saw those queue lines at TD…i walked those queue lines at TD…i vowed that i would never ever stand in a queue line like that ever. I had friends who went hella early and STILL spent three hours queuing for goods…ONLY FOR THEM TO RUN OUT!!! It’s insaaaane. So yknow what you guys should do? Thank your GO peeps profusely if they ever had to stand in a queue to get goods for you. These things are no joke.
Deluxe package buyers get the most for their money i swear. When you buy deluxe you stay in the nicest fucking hotel omfg i looked it up and everything. It’s almost always decked out in like pillows and covers and stuff of the artist you’re going to see and you get to take that stuff HOME along with all the other free stuff (i keep refraining myself from saying sh*t because this stuff is not sh*t) that SM gives you. Deluxe peeps also get a free tour of the co-ex atrium where they will literally SHUT DOWN THE ENTIRE STORE just for you guys and they will jam your artist loud through the speakers and monitors land it’s just so so nice. AND they give you a free meal voucher to a nice ass restaurant and/or you can join in the meal that they set up for the deluxe package holders which is ofc hella fricking nice. So I had a lot of people tell me before that getting the GP was not worth your money blah blah and i say one thing YES IT IS YES IT IS YES IT IS! If you wanna go for it because you are afraid of being in a foreign country by yourself, then buy it. If you wanna go for it because you’re like me and cannot get around or book a hotel (under-aged) to save your life, then buy it. If you wanna buy it for all the free stuff and cool activities, then BUY IT.
Uhm, so disparities between Korean and Japanese concerts. Since SM does not own Japan like they do Korea, things are a lot less limited. For instance, where Korean concert packages will almost never have less than 12 separate packages, Japanese concert packages only have six or less. This is because in Japan SM doesn’t make the distinctions between deluxe, superior, or economy. Everyone stays in the same hotel. Everyone gets the exact same free goods. No one goes on an elaborate tour or eats at an elaborate restaurant. You’re all on the same playing field. The only price difference you’re paying for is course type and twin/single.
Now now now listen, let me tell you this now…getting a GP for a Korean concert is…how do i say….FUCKING HARD. So before trying for SW 2017, i thought i would mock try for Taemin’s Off Sick concert (the first one) I was on the moment it opened…and there was only 4/12 slots left. His GP sold out in less than three minutes! I had a friend who tried for SWC V last year and literally got KICKED OFF THE PAGE because there was so much traffic. It is gruesome I’ll have you know. But getting a Japanese package is soooo much easier…i wonder why???? No i don’t. It’s because when you’re trying for a Korean concert, you are also competing with Japanese fans for the exact same spots. And there are a lot of them, and chances have it they are way more experienced at this game than you are. So, i’ve had a lot of people tell me that when they’ve went for a Korean concert GP, most of the other participants were Japanese…like 90% of them are Japanese. Which is really not surprising at all considering how almost all SM artists promote in Japan. So my advice for you there is GOOD LUCK MY CHILD cause you’re gonna need it.
ah this is long. okay last thing (i think, i hope). Japanese GPs are usually more (read: waaay more) expensive than Korean concerts becaaauuuussseee so far, the only GPs SM has done in Japan have been for dome tours. So this is Tokyo Dome, Kyocera Dome and like obviously these are legendary stages that usually bring a different level of concert experience. So i get it. Like yeah hike up those prices! Also, we stayed in the Shinjuku Washington Hotel and idk if yall ever looked into it or anything but 1) it was hella nice and located near a business district in Japan and 2) apparently it was for rich people. So i really enjoyed my time in Japan and i do not regret dropping nearly $1000 to see my favorite concert in Tokyo Dome. And I had such an amazing time in Japan, I can’t possibly regret anything because getting the GP allowed for me to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity. Also our tour guide was the absolute cutest i think i fell in love with her every time she spoke. And i even got into an elevator with her and she talked to me about Jonghyun so i was literally almost dying on the floor because too to too much. Her name was Lily, Such a sweet name for a lovely person. (she was also the tour guide for Jonghyun’s The Letter Agits during one of the weeks and she saw my tote bag i had from his concert and that’s how the convo started and just *dies*)
Okay i think I covered everything (and more)…i refuse to read back through this long thing because aaaahhh i wrote a lot i’m sorry but i hope this compensates for being fuck ass late. (I cuss too much i’m sorry)
#pfft i read through it anyway#i still feel like theres smth i missed....#aaah i hope this anon still follows me#and is able to read this#i am so so sos os so so sorry for being so late#but i was so sick when i came back from japan#i still am#and whenever i would feel like answering this#i didn't have my computer#or i'd get distracted#and lots of other stuff#but like no excuse#i am so sorry#but yea here's my unnecessarily long post about global packages#it's probably not even detailed enough#sigh#if you guys still have questions ofc my inbox is always open#or send me an im if you just have loads and loads of questions after this#also pls excuse my language#when i get excited i just#yea#sorry#asks#anonymous#global package#Anonymous
