"The show has more in common with the books than you think"
So said Max in one of nycc interviews (quote may be not direct). But considering this statement, I've got some thoughts.
Part 1
Patrick Spring's s1 case started as case of Mr. Ensty from The Long Dark Tea-Time Of The Soul- Dirk is too late to his client and fails to save him.
Now, s2 season has The Boy. And this is a point there i thought of Mr. Ensty's case again: If you remember, while looking around in his client's house, Dirk finds in the attic a boy, who is living here, watching tv (mostly commercials) and is so depended from it, that can't be separated.
I don't mean to link this boy to Patrick Spring and his case in any way, but I think it's important that he kinda... has no connection to reality? Sounds intriguing, considering s2 fantasy world and s1 "princess commercial".
Part 2.
If Blackwing is inspired by the Woodshed hospital, then could Project Moloch be kinda Mr. Odin? He is old(?) and is in coma, or sleep...
Odin is not only a warrior god, but also a shaman and mage. He takes part in creation of Midgard (cosmogenic aspect) and also is patron of poets (being a poet himself). Shamanism itself is an ecstatic act; poetry used to be considered as such too.
You wanna say, Dirk's self-oblivious way of speaking isn't kinda ecstatic and, in that ancient sense, poetic? 😏
...
...
This theory may be bullshit, but it was such fun to create....

Prompt because I love your drabbles: Todd and Dirk find each other in Wendimoor and Todd is at first surprised by Dirk’s ruffled hair and then offers to comb Dirk’s hair with his fingers
thank you so much! that means a lot to me! xx this is a quick, silly drabble to give you guys a break from my usual angst(also this basically has to ignore the last episode bc their reunion was quite different than we expected tho probably exactly what we should have)
~
Dirk ran fast, flailing his arms as he went and trying his best not to trip on anything on the forest floor. He glanced behind him to see if The Beast was following him, but so far it seemed like he’d be able to outrun her.His sprint came to a sudden stop when he collided with something in front of him and fell on his arse.“Ouch!” He screeched and looked up to see what he’d ran into.“Son of a-“Or who he’d ran into.“Todd!?” Dirk squealed, recognizing the grumpy voice.“Dirk!?” Todd responded.Quickly they both got up and grinned at each other. Dirk’s hands immediately placed themselves on Todd’s shoulders in excitement, to which Todd responded by grabbing a hold of Dirk’s biceps.“Oh I’m glad I ran into you, though the literal running into each other could have been avoided, nonetheless, most importantly, I solved the case!” Dirk screamed and did a little victory dance.Todd looked puzzled. “Wait, you said you quit being a detective like, an hour ago, and now you’ve solved the case?” He asked.“Yes!” Dirk replied.Todd laughed. “Of course you have.”“No time to waste, Todd, we have work to do!” Dirk exclaimed and patted Todd on the shoulder.“Wait, slow down, how did you solve the case? What happened? Who’s the boy? How do we get out of Wendimoor? Do you know where Amanda is? And… What the hell happened to your hair?” Todd asks in one exhale and then furrows his brows while turning his attention to Dirk’s unusually styled hair.“Oh, yes, that-““Bibbit rude!” Came a gruff but feminine voice from behind Dirk. Dirk jumped. Todd screamed, reaching for the weapon at his belt.“No, no! Todd! She’s harmless! Well, not harmless per say, she did tie me up and hold me hostage, however, she doesn’t want to hurt us. Or me at least, I’m not sure where she stands with you.” Dirk rambled.Todd blinked a few times. “Huh?”“Bibbit my boyfreen!” The Beast said and hugged Dirk’s leg with her whole body.“You- I am so lost right now.” Todd deadpanned.Dirk shrugged. “It appears that she has grown quite attached to me. Again, rather literally. Anyway, the case-““Are we really just gonna ignore the creature currently hanging onto your leg?” Todd asked.Dirk looked down at The Beast and then back at Todd. “Yes?”Todd sighed. “Fine. So?”Dirk grinned again. “So! To answer your questions: from clues, while being stuck in that cave of a throne room, Moloch, no idea whatsoever, unfortunately no and what’s wrong with my hair?”Todd took a minute to go over his questions and matching them with Dirk’s answers. He didn’t know where to start, so naturally he looked back up at Dirk’s hair.“It’s… A mess, frankly.” Todd snorted.Dirk furrowed his brows. “Oh.”Todd laughed fondly. “Here, let me.” He said as he reached up to sort out Dirk’s hair, only to find his hand aggressively pushed away at the last second.“MA BOYFREEN!” The Beast screamed.“What the hell!” Todd replied.“Now, now, darling, things are a bit different outside of that cave… Thing.” Dirk explained softly to The Beast. The Beast frowned. “Bibbit my boyfreen.”Dirk stared at her for a moment. “Right. However, I’m not just Bibbit anymore. I’m also Dirk. A non-lumberjack detective. And Todd is my friend.” Dirk gestures towards Todd as he tried to reason with The Beast and all Todd could do was roll his eyes.“Toad Bibbit’s boyfreen?” The Beast asked, visibly confused.Todd’s eyes widened. For once, Dirk seemed at loss for words. After a moment of consideration, however, The Beast however didn’t seem to need an answer.“Bibbit’s boyfreen ok.” The Beast said excitedly and poked Todd in the shin.Todd turned to stare at Dirk.Dirk let out an awkward laugh. “I believe her definition of ‘boyfriend’ might just mean, you know, a friend who’s a boy.” He reasoned.“Right.” Todd replied.“Bibbit still ma boyfreen. Toad no steal. No seefish.” The Beast said and gave Todd a threatening glare. Todd had no idea what would be the best course of action.“Alright, well, we should get moving! We’re on a case!” Dirk exclaimed and nudged The Beast to start walking, well, her way of walking.“Wait.” Todd said and Dirk stilled.Todd walked up to Dirk, quickly glanced at The Beast who was still walking in front of them and then reached up to touch Dirk’s hair. He brushed the messy fringe back into its place and smoothed the shorter hairs down. Not that he would ever admit it, but he might have ended up just petting Dirk’s head and running his fingers through the longer parts once he’d already fixed his hair.Slowly Todd drew his hands back, trying to fight the blush forming on his face.“Thank you, Todd.” Dirk said quietly. He seemed to be blushing slightly too.“Yeah. Sure.” Todd mumbled.Neither of them thought to start walking again, they just stood there, as if challenging each other in a weirdly fond staring contest.“Bibbit and boyfreen slow!” The Beast groaned from a few feet away, breaking their eye contact.Dirk definitely blushed now. “We should-““Yeah.” Todd said. They started walking. Soon, Todd spoke up again.“You think we could get her to stop calling me your boyfriend before we find my sister? Cause we’ll never hear the end of that.”

Deadly forces converge
OK first ting first - did they all just have an orgy in the police station? Did Dirk hide from that in Bart’s cell? It certainly looks like it. I’m glad Dirk and Bart had that talk. I understand Dirk is scared of her (she did try to kill him) but they have shared experiences and all. They should talk more.
So actually the episode started with a flashback that took us to the night the boat The Infant, Male, Pollock, Francis fell from a sky the the Cardenas found it. And it looks like there was a baby inside it. And there was project Moloch symbol at the beginning of this flashback. So it seems like a theory about the boy being the baby Cardens found on the boat and raised who had powers to make imaginary real is pretty much confirmed. It looks like we met the boy - the creator of all the “gifts” Arnold Cardenas came to regret.
Tina has finally realised that Sherlock is missing and has panic attack about it but they all  also realised that Blackwing is here and Suzie threatens them with death so he gets pushed for later. They go look for Arnold Cardenas and answers because Dirk has mental breakdown knowing they all are in danger because of him. He just doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt because their lives put them on his path but it fails. Arnold dies and then he thinks the same happens to Farah. The guilt is slowly destroying him and now he also thinks he failed to save Wendimoor because he thinks the boy is dead.
Meanwhile, Friedkin discovers project Incubus disappeared with nothing but wet circles left behind and he has no choice but to go to one person who is smart in the whole building - Ken. Ken and the corgi finally get out of that room they’ve been imprisoned and get a living quarters improvement. Ken is really good at manipulating Friedkin to get more privileges and power. I expect him to run the place soon. At least he manages to get some oversight over what Mr. Priest is doing and that will come handy for several characters. I hope he also gets an update on project Marzanna.
Mr Priest walked through Farah like she didn’t defeat the best fighter in Wendimoor with just a jacket.Todd believed she was invincible and after all the deaths Dirk now believes she is dead. And then the man from his nightmares comes for Svlad Cvjeli. Todd’s idea saves them but now Mr. Priest is really pissed because people keep disappearing on him from closed rooms with no other exit. And he has an unconscious Farah. They may not have much choice but they still left her behind.
The Mage has found out his world is made up. A part of child’s imagination turned corporeal. A villain in a story made to lose. He was made to be evil. Nothing but a bad guy made by a kid for a story. All his deeds someone else’s invention. And all he really wants is to hurt people and watch them suffer. But that doesn’t make him question his stance. It’s just give him idea to go aim for something bigger, new, not scripted - like taking over real world. I have a feeling The Mage may try to take over our world and meet a very pissed off Mr Priest.
He has crisis of fate but Suzie is full team conquer Wendimoor and she is determined to finish her assignment. She was promised she can be a queen. She is done feeling small. She told Tina she would cover herself in their blood and ended up covered in her own. She went full evil voice. And killed Arnold Cardenas.
Suzie no longer cares about anyone but herself. The love spell made Scott better. He finally started behaving like a person and turned out there is a human underneath the yelling, spoiled brat. But Suzie - she got even worse after crawling in mud to find her wand. She loves the power it gives her more then anything else and no one will distract her from getting it all. He was one last person she still cared about from her old life but now she just turns him to frog when he says he loves her and will support her. And then she goes to on full attack. She has crossed the moral horizon. Unlike The Mage she had a choice who to be and she chose evil. She chose to show to all those other people they shouldn’t mess with Suzie Boreton.
And that just turns Farah’s protective instincts up but they what really should’ve done was to give Bart a gun. Farah believes she can take on anyone (Todd believes in her and so does everyone else) and that it’s her duty to do it (she can’t let her friends down and will protect them at all costs) but she is not invincible (as we saw with Mr. Priest). Burt on other hand is Universe’s anointed assassin made to take care of people like Suzie.
But she’s on a break. Chilling in a cell and not doing any killing. But that’s about to end because Panto proposes and adventure. Panto does what almost no one does - he asks Bart what she wants. Panto is manipulating her to get out but he is also one of very few people (second one really) who took time to talk to her, know her, and support her. So she can get some control over her life and do things she wants to do not just what the Universe wants her to do. Bart deserves to have more friends.
I love the relationship Rowdy 3 have with their Drummer. She saves them from Blackwing. They will do anything for her. She is now the boss to all of them. They will go where she wants them to or stay where she wants to stay. They support her study of magic and understand her sickness/gift. The magic that comes from within her in Wendimoor becomes real. The pararibulitis attacks become visible to everyone and she can make the stuff she feels real. The lightning. The knife.
Finally, it looks like everyone is going to Wendimoor. Todd figured out the door. Panto takes Bart with him. And Suzie wants The Mage to take her. I bet others will follow.
