I do think the surfer might be one of the overall best vampire weekend songs ever. I do. Like, objectively. Like if I were to pretend I don't know any of their music and I listened to each album they've put out and ranked all of those songs, the surfer would be a top 10, easily.

#just impeccable vibes.... the melancholy. the overlap with hannah hunt that I can't really explain.#i still think sunflower is THE best vw song but I may be biased on that tbh #and if i really count it out...... i think quite a few of their ''unreleased'' (not on a studio album) songs would make it in the top 10 too #ottoman is one of my absolute faves. it definitely has a high ranking. and tbh i love their covers of other songs #their version of I'm going down by bruce springsteen is very special to me
