Not a biologist so not sure how well this holds up, but consider:

Humans are warm-blooded. We are constantly burning calories just to keep warm. What if to aliens we are constantly consuming food just to keep up like DC's Flash family??

Alien: "What are you doing?"

Human: "Making the best sandwich I've had in weeks!"

Alien: "But you just ate this morning."

Human: "...Yes? Like normal? Wait, how long ago did you eat?"

Alien: "Three weeks ago. Like normal."

Human: "Oh right, you guys are coldblooded! Wow, I forgot. I guess we haven't been doing much running around lately, so you probably don't need much food. Weird. Well, you're missing out on sandwiches like this."

Alien: "If we're 'coldblooded,' does that mean your blood is hot? Is that why you eat so much, to maintain it? What a waste!"

Human: "Remind me to give you a hug next time the heater breaks, and I bet you'll change your mind."

i guess i’m not surprised that people are struggling with more complex media if the main art they consume is usually flowery and straightforward idol (and adjacent) multimedia music anime like love live which has some of the easiest narrative and characters to understand in the world, like avemygo has a lot more going on than the average show in this niche, but also it makes me feel like i’m dying a little bit

Nah I just stopped sharing the chapters publicly because people were being weirdly hostile about my update schedule, so rn the only people who's seen the updates is myself plus one other person. I'll prob continue to wait to share the writing tbh until I feel like its chilled out more

Anaxa’s character stories all being in mediums that have already been destroyed has me climbing the WALLS. Cerces looking through his memories. A study record that no longer exists. An improvised speech that nobody would have written down. Another fragment of memory that nobody got to see. The complicated bits of his character and explanations for his goals and Why he is the way he is will fade away and he will be remembered largely as a performer and a blasphemer. How will they remember him when so little of him yet remains?

this past year has easily been one of the most productive and artistically formative years in recent memory and i'm so incredibly proud and grateful to have this little corner of the internet full of people who share my interests and enjoy my art <3

Batfamily fics need to start including all the times the Batkids would absolutely bust their teeth on something.

Goon hit you wrong? Cracked tooth. Face planted on that last flip? That’s a knocked out tooth for sure. One bad kick across the face during a spar and you’re spitting blood on the mats with your front teeth shoved the wrong direction back into your gums.

Bruce avoids this by having no real teeth. The Batkids learn about the benefits of mouth guards via trial and error.
