Summary:This is how I think Peter Parker would be with artist!reader

A/n: heyya guys!!! I just wanna apologize and thank everyone who showed support to few of my series that I started but did not post anything after first chapter, I started those series when I was feeling very motivated and was full of ideas but in excitement I didn't planned them out properly and it backfired. I wasn't feeling like it anymore but I knew I have to post and I did write chapters for all of them but I wasn't happy with my work so I never posted them, and it's my fault because I shouldn't have posted them online before planning them out properly, but I promise I will complete them but not anytime soon because I just don't feel like writing them any more. for now I just want to write small one shots and headcanons so I would really appreciate if you guys show these ideas support too, thank you!!

I think he really enjoys drawing because it's one of the things he finds calming. 

He usually prefers to watch you draw/sketch, because he thinks you look super cute while you're concentrating on a certain detail or drawing the outline of the figure.

When you guys are drawing together, he'd try to draw you, so he can show you how beautiful you truly are. He just loves you so much he can't help it. 

Gets distracted easily, and blames it on you, and when you ask what you did he'll say something like "stop being so goddamn cute!" or like "you're looking too cozy and cute, makes me wanna cuddle the life out of you!" 

He absolutely LOVES painting with you because then he gets to start a paint war with you. In two or less minutes you guys would be covered in 50 shades of grey🤭😉

And let me tell you, the way he drew you is *chef's kiss* so good. The boy literally put his heart out on this drawing.

When he finally shows you the drawing he'd say something like "I'm sorry if it's not good. And please be honest if it's shit, okay?" "Peter, what are you talking about?! This is beautiful! I look so pretty!! You made me so beautiful in this!" " Well that's because YOU are BEAUTIFUL!" 

He'll most definitely take you to picnic dates, somewhere far and beautiful. He'd lay there next to you while you draw in silence. Those kinds of dates are his favorite; super relaxing and peaceful.

Would model for you if you ask him to, but the poor boy can't sit still. He needs to move or else he'll go crazy, but will apologize every time he moves, you're quick to tell him it's fine and that you don't expect him to become a statue.

Would buy you art supplies but will be too scared to give you because he knows you don't like it  when he spends his money on you. So he'll sneakingly leave it at your desk thinking you won't notice, but of course you did. Will get scolding from you afterwards. 

Let's be honest, you love it when he buys you art supplies, it makes you happy to know that he actually cares enough to got you those, but the thing is art supplies are expensive as fuck! He works really hard for what he earns, and you don't want him to waste it on you. You get scolded in return when you tell him this.

"Nonsense! I'm not wasting anything, you should know that, Y/n! You know, it actually hurts me to think you'd even think something like that." "I'm sorry, Peter." "You're forgiven, but only because I need my cuddles and kisses," "and because you love me?" "yeah that too, but mostly my cuddles."

Definitely, will take (swing) you to different places he thought was worthy enough to be drawn. Or when you're not feeling motivated, or when the art block is just too strong; because he understands how tough it can get for you.

He's always there for you no matter what. He truly understands you, and helps you out when you have no motivation or ideas to create anything. Calms you down when you're frustrated because the drawing you finished is not looking the way you wanted it to be. Always tells you how talented you are and how much he's proud of you and everything you create

Always reminds you to take care of yourself and asks you if you have eaten anything yet? Because when you're drawing you always lose track of time and forget to eat. 

Definitely finds it funny when you rant about how drawing hands is an absolute nightmare, but agrees with you nonetheless. 

100% had said "draw me like one of your French girls" at some point with a dramatic gesture. 

Shows you off to everyone he meets like, " have you met my girlfriend? She's so talented like ohmygod, here look at this" proceeds to show the person your artwork while you stand there embarrassed but so in love

Definitely has hung up your drawings in his room

He's your number one supporter, but does points out mistakes if he sees one (we love honest feedbacks)

So in conclusion Peter Parker is absolutely whipped for you

Hi there! Thanks for the question and take an interest in her!!^ ^♥️ (I tried to keep it simple but I keep adding details about her, so it has become a lengthy description, but you can scroll to the bottom I have the simplistic version of it)

I would say Nika is a quick wit, bold, resilient, stylish, rebellious, and very much an independent person. Sometimes a bit of a showgirl in her own playful theatrical way.

→Painting her face with skull makeup. Her trademark move by tearing people's hearts out. Presenting herself in distinctive outfits. Kneeling as a sign of respect when she first meets with people whom she holds long admiration for - Batman, her (past) mentor Lord Death Man. When she goes undercover with Damian in Gotham High, she shows up dressing to her own taste in clothes, even though he tells her to be inconspicuous.

Batman and Robin(2023)#8 -Artist: Nikola Čižmešija-

She tends to make silly nicknames for people, like throwing it in between conversations as a not-serious jab/comment: Damian- little birdie, Bruce- Daddy bat-brucks (reference Annie), Ra's Al Ghul- old fart😭(cus he is in ghost/spirit form, and properly bugging her for a while…)

The interests she has are drawing and opera. She also mentioned she's a K-pop stan, so I imagine she is interested in different ranges of music.

"—wander around an old folk's home and like… pick up painting or opera, y'know?"

Nika is an easygoing, open-minded and curious person (reads Damian's manga and talks to him about it). She's not very good at picking up social cues (saying death-related jokes at bad timing or it didn't land well) despite that, she still pays attention to what people are saying and observes people well (discuss the fighting skills of tournament fighters with Damian, and showing concern about Damian's injured arm).

"It's good. I like that it's a romance about an art school. But also about being competitive…"

And oftentimes she lives in her own head (obsesses with death and honing her newfound powers). It improves after she meets Damian and considers other possibilities in life other than death and killing.

"Life can be more than just being really good at killing people. You've proven that a few times."

Batman and Robin(2023)#7 -Artist: Simone Di Meo-

She likes to handle things at her own pace/plans and has the confidence in herself to do it correctly. So she has the bad habit of saying white lies or doesn't tell people the whole picture/exactly what she is trying to do.

Sometimes doing things head-on fearlessly because she has ambition and pride in herself (calls dibs on Damian's first match, keeps fighting in the death tournament attempt to gain victory, takes over Lord Death Man's empire, takes inspiration from Talia and makes a new outfit for herself).

When first met, people might find Nika quite rude/careless. Once you get to know her, she's just very straightforward and honest when expressing her feelings. She can be pretty brash, had short-tempered to people who are disrespectful/annoying to her.

"If you really are this badass that you think you are, you'll respect me."

Nika is a person of a free spirit with a strong will and motivation. She would follow reasonable orders/rules from ppl whom she respects, but she would get irritated when people tried to hold tight control over her and tell her what she should or shouldn't do, it might signal her that they don't trust/have faith in her (like her family). And if she feels like being overlooked/underwhelming, she tries to rebel and manage things on her own terms (run away from home to learn more about her powers, overthrow Lord Death Man, handle Mila's situation, go to Gotham to see Damian after his lack of contact/attention to her even though he calls her his girlfriend first).

Simplistic version (summary)↓

Prominent personality trait— Quick wit and easygoing, with a strong will and motivation. A confident, resilient, fashionable, and challenging person.

Hobby(so far)— Drawing, k-pop, opera.

Social ability— Tends to be playful, joking around with people, and likes to nickname them as a not-serious jab/comment. Mostly minding her own business, and not relying on other people much. Kind of a lone wolf who values her own time and effort.

Goals(so far)— Relying on her obsession with death to make sense of life. After the tournament and managing Lord Death Man's criminal empire she wants to slow down a bit to enjoy/explore her life.

With Damian— Playful, free talking and showing more emotions with him. Honest to him with times (resolved misunderstanding with him quickly). Likes his accompany a lot.

With (her older sister) Mila— a bit melancholy but not afraid to fight against her when she is being disrespectful/harmful.

About the Touhou drawing, even though it really underperformed, it did the thing that I really love about obscure crossovers: there were some people who connected the dots and went “ah!”. It ended up being a drawing for a very specific audience lol But I am extremely happy that those who liked it did like it, including you! It means a lot that we still get support on stuff that doesn’t necessarily click with a lot of people.

Katsu said it the other day, but I’ll say it too: we really don’t want to seem ungrateful because all the support we receive is honestly insane and we’re really happy that we could be this self-indulgent about stuff that we post. It motivates both of us a lot, and I feel like no matter how much I thank you all, it’ll never feel like I’ve said it enough time to express just how much we appreciate it properly.

So yeah. Cheesiness aside, as long as it’s fun, let’s keep doing it.

I’m pretty sure I talked about this before, but I can’t find the post right now, so I’ll answer again!

Jade and Floyd are interesting because even though they act together a lot of times, they don’t really like being “a set” to each other, so I guess whether they would do something like this or not really depends on a lot of stuff. I do love to sandwich one character between them, and I tend to do it with Idia because of course I do lol But it still doesn’t feel like a poly ship to me, more like two creeps harassing poor guy because he amuses them…

I agree that it would be an interesting dynamic to see Jade and Floyd fighting for a piece of meat someone else’s attention because it would showcase their pettier side, like two kids hissing at each other. But in practice, I don’t really know who would fit to be that one person these two would fight for like that 🤔 They are too good at minding their business when it comes to each other’s love affairs.

I’m waiting for an epiphany on this one.

Pretty much! It wouldn’t always end up with them having sex with Idia, but they would still do a lot of sexual stuff: rubbing against him, touching him, humping him, etc.

Ahem. Mahito. My sworn enemy. Murderer of the love of my life. I will never ever forgive— but, oh gosh, why is his voice so… AHEM. I got distracted.

Mahito said this one thing that piqued my interest. Don’t remember the exact words but it was something along the lines of: “I’m grateful to you.” So interesting. We talked a lot about how gratitude was one of Nanami’s motivations, how it gave him purpose. And it came from the innocent/weak and his comrades. But this is coming from a curse 😬

I can’t really give an explanation as to why… because his interaction with Nanami led him to discovering domain expansion? Is that it?? I guess Mahito growing stronger is something he gets off of, the thrill of it and also identity shenanigans, but I do not spend time pondering over my mortal enemies 😁 (Just kidding… here I am… intrigued by Mahito and his stupidly cute voice… I still hate him… I can’t help but wonder… ugh)

The reason I find this so interesting is how at the end, Mahito is stronger than Nanami. When Mahito ends Nanami, I doubt that he remembers or acknowledges any of the gratitude back then. Specifically because he said to Yuji, “I’ll probably forget you in the future too.” Gratitude to Mahito is meaningless. I think that also just shows how different curses are from humans. Gratitude plays such a big part for a lot of human happiness. But not for curses.

I found Mahito’s philosophy very interesting, the way that he saw everything as pointless which led to him doing whatever he wanted to do. Which is killing people (my beloved 😭) and propelling the endless cycle of war between curses and humans. It reminds me of nihilism sorta kinda maybe IDK. Again, I just haven’t given it much thought because he’s Mahito…

Ah, you know what. This reminds me of Attack on Titan (🥸). Marleyans vs. Eldians. Each side is fighting for survival, so they can have their own world. They wanted the same things, have their own peaceful world, but it just so happened that they were on opposing sides with a long history of violence and racism. Same thing with curses and humans. They both want to occupy the world, live their own lives, but they just can’t coexist. Mahito doesn’t see any side as right or wrong. His choices and decisions are based on impulse and desire. The lack of empathy is what makes him realllly different from Eren but I think the vision is very similar. They both stick to one side and fight for it because that’s the side they were born into. It’s so cool how there are overlapping themes of endless cycles. Like either with humanity against curses or a divided humanity against itself.

In conclusion, I feel very frustrated, confused, mad, and intrigued about Mahito. UGH. How dare he have an amazing VA and also cause so much pain and suffering. UNFAIR. CRUEL. I dislike him but I don’t. Would I have disliked him more if I only read the manga and he never had a voice? 😐😑😐

(Side note, I also realized ep 13 was when Nanami actually actually acknowledged Yuji as a sorcerer. Now I have to draw more Papamin. Sigh. I swear, everytime the topic of Nanami is brought up, it evokes a physically sigh from me.)

Hi @courtneedsleep ! I am the world's biggest procrastinator, both in the way you mentioned and with regards to work I don't like/have little interest in. When it comes to series, absolutely! I put things off when I know I will enjoy them. I have a whole list of shows (anime included) that I know are brilliant and have been putting off for some time now, all because I know I will love them and want to savour them properly!

So, essentially, I don't know when I will end up watching Paranoia Agent, Odd Taxi or From the New World, but I know I'll love them 🤭

I've actually been re-watching some of season 1 myself (ah, simpler times) and Mahito is genuinely such an excellent character (as much as I want to do unspeakably horrible things to him).

Mahito initially came across, to me, as something of a contradiction. He was evidently born from human folly, and shows great delight in manipulating and tormenting humans, as he does with Junpei. You could almost say that he uses humans in the same way that sorcerers use cursed tools. That's what they are to him. Tools to be used to further the ends of cursed spirits.

This is where Mahito struck me as being truly dangerous: his fight with Nanami. He comes across (as Nanami comments) as fickle, sadistic, immature, barely aware of the impact of his own actions and with the air of a child playing with and destroying their toys. What is doubly terrifying is the power that he possesses, leaving others at the mercy of his whim.

Mahito's power is also terrifying and, from my initial perspective, almost inappropriate for a cursed spirit like him. He is able to accurately perceive the soul, in spite of being an 'immature' spirit, and downright psychopathic (by human standards). His power, like you said, is heavily instinctual and relies on his reading of a moment, emotions or the way a person responds to things.

The moment when he 'thanks' Nanami also stands out to me. It's almost like a child thanking their parent for a new plaything, something that might increase their status or bargaining power on the playground. Naturally, the child won't remember that act of gratitude for long, over the pleasure that their possession brings, or the manner in which they use it. That's going by the standard of regular children, of course, and Mahito is anything but regular, let alone human.

When Mahito eventually kills Nanami, he feels nothing of normal human gratitude. As far as he is concerned, Nanami has played his part, has helped him achieve more power, and can now be disposed of like all of the other human 'tools' as a means of furthering the cause of cursed spirits.

Yes. Pretty callous and inhumane overall. As expected. But then, Mahito subverted my expectations. As the series progressed, I began to see what you described; the attachment to his comrades, declaring a clear purpose for cursed spirits on earth, bringing about the return of Sukuna, and creating a new reality beneficial to cursed spirits overall. Very similar to the Marleyans and Eldians, this shows two species that are determined to carve a place for themselves in the world, to declare their right to exist, but also not able to tolerate the existence of each other.

Mahito suddenly displayed characteristics that were so much more human. I could no longer think of him as 'just another capricious curse' with no real understanding of the havoc he caused. His attachments to his own comrades spoke very clearly of that fact that he understood just how sadistic and terrible his actions were, they were just directed at humans, and so, he simply didn't care.

He was able to be so carefree not because he was totally unhinged, but because he saw humans the way humans saw curses. If we think of it from that perspective, he killed Nanami, just as Nanami exorcised cursed spirits.

Is there therefore a difference between him and Nanami, as viewed from either side? Fundamentally, yes. Nanami is shown to offer comfort and compassion to transformed humans, even as he has to take their lives. He understands all too well the weight of taking lives; Mahito does not.

This is all too clear when he prioritizes taking out Nobara, someone who's technique is a direct threat to him. Mahito suddenly learns what mortal peril feels like, what it means to be on the receiving end. Unlike Nanami, who truly did expect to meet his death as a sorcerer, and fully understood the risks, Mahito was still a child playing in an adult world, albeit, a horrendously powerful and dangerous child.

It's also extremely clear later (I won't spoil things, because I'm not exactly certain where in the show you are) that he is terrified of Yuuji's single-minded pursuit of him and desire to eradicate what he represents. Mahito does learn the true meaning of fear, he does come to understand the weight of lives, he does come to understand his own smallness on the scale of things. As philosophical as he came across, he applied those concepts very narrowly, and in ways that were heavily prejudiced by his own conception as a cursed spirit.

Mahito is such a great character, a truly adaptable and ever-evolving antagonist, and he's just delectably detestable, isn't he?

(Side note: It WAS the first time Nanami acknowledged him as a sorcerer! Proud Nanamin. 😭 I love that he's so caring and compassionate to Yuuji without ever overstepping the bounds of what he believes is true. He won't give praise where it's not deserved. He's not a sentimental man given to overt displays of affection. He's blunt to a fault. Which makes the occasions where he DOES acknowledge the students so much more meaningful and precious).

Week 2 of my November writing challenge is done!

I think the best way I can sum it up is that is that I wrote on days I probably wouldn't have without this challenge to motivate me. I did miss two days but that's okay- I got the requisite 11 hours, 12 minutes at least. Wrote a lot of oakweave and I do hope that's one of the fics I finish this month.

Still gotta do my writing for today, but I got tagged in a thing so I'm gonna take care of that first. On to week 3 now, hoping to have something ✨finished✨ or in the hands of a beta reader by the end of it!

Notes on each day + a photo of the birthday cake I made for my friend below the cut-

Sunday - Went bananas and wrote gender-affirming bloodweave smut to go along with my drawing of Gale wearing stockings and bunny ears. I like it a lot but it's definitely something I wanna get beta'd for sensitivity just to be safe once I tidy it up. It also needs a hot check because I've never properly written smut before 😩

Monday - Bad anxiety day, definitely not super productive as I poked at my oakweave fic. It's a rehash of Gale's romance scenes but during a post-canon visit to Reithwin.

Tuesday - Talked about my feelings a bit here, but yeah. Too anxious to write.

Wednesday - Running on zero sleep but managed to open a doc and write a few words. Oakweave has become my comfort ship haha

Thursday - So the timer I use to see how long I'm writing for counts up when I have Discord open, so the timing is a bit funky. Was very distracted, but I officially made my oakweave fic into a multi-chapter situation.

Friday - Quietly participated in the Bloodweave Brainrot server's crack fic night and attempted to write some silly smut. I've got the bones of something silly and I do hope to get it finished enough to post. Rebounding in a bouncy castle would be an excellent first E-rated fic I think, if I get to it before the other one. Also experienced how effective the Sprinto bot is for locking in!

Saturday - Didn't have any time to write, but that's okay as I was hosting my best friend's birthday party. I love my friend group so much, they are such good people and getting to see all of them was such a comfort. Yesterday was the only day I didn't cry at all LOL 😭 Here's a pic of the birthday cake I made for her- lemon, lemon curd, and lavender buttercream. Little potato guy on top because the party was a potato-themed potato-based potluck!

i have so many fic ideas i’ve never finished and kohaai aus i would love to elaborate on,, the fics on my ao3 now i care for very much and i think are just silly and fun but i have even more ideas that are currently SO neglected by me… most people don’t even know i /have/ an ao3 which i think is silly,, it’s my open secret only the real ones know

there's this one fic wip i have that i'm pretty proud of for certain sections while others i just want to completely rewrite… it's a soulmate au, and it's been sitting in my docs for over a year now… i did want to finish it for kohaai week which i hosted a couple weeks ago on twitter (btw the fanworks from that ship week are so amazing and i'm so happy it was successful on the bird app) but that did not happen… it’s not even remotely halfway done but it’s sitting at 5k words which is more than i’ve ever published on my account before too 😭 every time i revisit it i’m always like. damn. why can’t this fic write itself?! but alas, writers block is evil and i’ve never been one to classify myself as much of a writer anyways

still, kohaai roams my brain CONSTANTLY and they motivate me to create content for them and id love to properly explore my ideas more in fic form (and in art as well… both?) did y’all know i love kohaai? only they could rot my brain so much as to make me practice drawing and even pick up fic writing again for them

You don’t have to get into writing. You can post a single fanfic and not post any other writing. Or you can get into writing and be a double threat writer and visual artist. 😉 Either way/point is, there’s no pressure to write and continue writing. You’ve written something beautiful that would be lovely to share w/ a greater audience, but you’re by no means under obligation to now become a writer.

Lmao I’m struggling to properly word this. 🥲 ALL I’M TRYING TO SAY IS don’t let fear of reception/fear of pressure stop you from gifting your creativity and stories to the world. If you want to write, then write! If you want to write only once, then write only once! If you want to publish your writing, then publish it! I think the weight of expectation is very relevant and difficult to navigate (and it can be quite easy to get swept away by initial praise and enthusiasm — which unfortunately, per my own experience, tends to level off/fade). BUT, you can in fact try something just one time; you can also try it, decide you really like it, and do it even more❣️

Hehe, I wrote this when I was still trying to learn (i stopped because i was getting stuck on learning kanji and also uni 😂 but trying to pick it up again! Spanish sounds cool! Might add that to my list)

There is a lot of pressure when it comes to trying new creative outlets for the first time, especially with that nagging voice in your head that says “i have to be good or i’ll quit” and it shouldn’t be that way. I do want to try and adapt that mentality of “trying things and fuck up then try again”. Hearing you and V say that you guys like it is like a big motivator to that attitude. I love how you, V, and Tay write so your input is INVALUABLE haha. Writing that was fun and I have no issue to try and write again thanks to you and V’s nice comment :)

However posting that is still another beast I’m trying to conquer 💀 I’m still on that journey of trying to be okay with the things I make, and having fun. But I’m slowly trying to get over that, with both art and other things too. To not be so rigid and treat this blog as if it’s a portfolio/ resume. AND be okay if things don’t get more than 30 notes or something. Whether it is art or writing or any other creative endeavour. That requires a bit more bravery that I’m starting to pick up bit by bit :)

So I’ll probably post that fic? (HAHA PLEASE DON’T BE MAD IF I DON’T) perhaps I’ll draw something for it, just a panel and actually become a double threat >:3, even if it’s this once. Only future can tell.

Okay. So I read Forgotten for the first time a few weeks ago and the entire fic had me mind blown from start to finish. It’s so rare to feel like I’m actually peering into the lives of other people when I’m reading any type of work. It was like being a fly on the wall.

Horikoshi has done something great with the MHA characters, but you took them and gave them a level of depth I don’t even see in some of the novels I read.

Everyone felt so…real, so human, and I think that’s what’s really amazing. Every character, including Y/N, was so complex and multidimensional that I’m still shocked a few weeks after first reading it.

Kirishima, Katsuki, Momo, Mina, just EVERYONE was so raw. It was such an amazing representation of human emotions, motivations, and traumas.

They truly feel so relatable, like strangers I could pass on the street. Those with their own intricate lives and experiences that have molded them into who they are. You’ve taken them from the manga drawings to fully fleshed out PEOPLE. Not characters, PEOPLE. Everyone had a fully fleshed out personality, and a distinctness that you captured and articulated so well.

I LOVE to read. I have my entire life, and over the probably hundreds of works I’ve read I’ve only been left speechless a few times. Forgotten is a work that has not only left me speechless, but I’m thinking about it and come back to it weeks later.

From Mina’s conversation with reader about postpartum to Kirishima having to staring down his own morality because what happened to Katsuki is terrifying, to readers trauma being so deep and genuine and Katsukis amnesia with the knowing that *something* is off. It’s so fucking good. Everything about it.

Not to mention the twist at the end with Momo being in the hospital and reader just lacking context! HOLY SHIT!!

I’ve been nerding out about this forever now! It’s taken me so long to even string together the words to properly say what I want, and I still feel like I’m failing to stress just how much of a work of art Forgotten is.

I’m going to stop droning on before this gets too long, but holy hell you really did something special with that fic. Thank you so much for sharing it with the community.

Really wanna try drawing my ocs that I made for Yanqing, but I dont know how to draw. I also dont want to pester my friends (and cousin) with my Yanqing brainrot, so all of my ideas are repressed lol, how do i copeee 😭😭

I'm not the best at giving advice, especially because I'm still improving as an artist myself, but whenever I can't get my brain to work properly, sometimes I'll go to picrew.me and mess around with the customizations.

Picrew is like the modern Doll Divine. The options are usually pretty limited, but I'd argue it's a good starting point/boost to get whatever character you've had rotating in your head out and into a state that you can actually visualize. Because of the limits of picrew, the character may also change when you attempt to draw them, and when that happens, you can put in your own flair into that design that makes it more distinct.

For tips on how to improve your artistic skills, as basic as it is, look for beginner art tutorials. There's not exactly one be-all end-all solution I or anyone else can give to help, because everyone learns differently. Everyone has different styles and personal quirks in the way that they create that's unique to them, and it's when you're still developing your skills that it's the hardest to figure that out. So, when you're in this stage, the one thing I can suggest to any beginner is to just experiment, and experimenting is the messiest stage in my opinion.

When I was still starting out, I actually did a lot of tracing, mainly with mlp bases. I consider it a rite of passage for every beginning artist to try out a deviantart base when they're still at a point where they can't draw that style on their own, a canon event even. I actually think it's beneficial. While learning through guidance should not be disregarded, and tracing should never become a permanent crutch, learning through hand-holding is helpful in its own ways. Doing this with multiple different art styles can also help navigate your own style. If you find yourself stuck in own medium, it wouldn't hurt to explore other artistic mediums that aren't limited to a pencil or paper. There's a ton of ways to express your ideas in an artistic way, it all depends on if it calls to you.

Every art style is a beautiful mish mash of different styles and aesthetics that a person has observed over their lifetime and absorbed throughout their development, and there never comes a point where you stop absorbing those concepts. Even professional artists' styles may change over time, and you can see that in their work. It goes to show that even when it seems like you've made it as an artist, you never stop learning, and by extension, you never stop changing.

Again, I can't say what method will work best for everyone, because it's not all the same across the board. I'm just recommending what's worked for me and sharing my own experience over the years. I know it all feels very daunting, and maybe like you're improving at a snails pace, but every new thing you learn is a milestone in and of itself. When you look at what you've made now and compare it to what you made yesterday, or six months ago, or years ago, that improvement can be genuinely astounding and serve as a motivator.

Actually it is based on my own regret. It often happens that people I know through social media seem to always be there, but one day they suddenly stop posting at all, then I secretly look forward to their posts and then I don't see them at all. There could be different reasons for this, but if it's because the person has lost motivation because they don't feel appreciated, I feel bad that I couldn't tell the person that I liked their art or posts while they were still active. So I try to comment on posts I like so that I don't regret not expressing my appreciation. There is no doubt that you have a great sense of design, and I actually feel that I have much to learn from what you've drawn. I admire your sense of balance, creating an impression of the whole while still having a little fun with the details.

When I was in art prep school, my teacher said that a good art is one that the viewer's eyes can't stop moving to different points on the canvas, and I feel that feeling from your art. I feel that your art is not something that people look at for a moment and then lose interest in, but something that people's eyes stay on.

Before I got on tumblr, I was drawing everything by hand and I was lacking of patience and some sense of perfectionism. Sharing things on the internet really helped me with that, because I always felt like people enjoyed my posts when I put my heart in it, so I don’t post much but I try to draw things that can be enjoyable for people who will find it ! From that perspective, I feel like I have a lot to learn from the way you draw and your love for pretty details !  And when I draw with ink and paper again, I really see the improvement. x)

You are a very kind person and the comments you leave me always cheer me on, and it always gives me a lot of motivation, so I’m really glad to hear that you appreciate my art like that ! “Dima?” Your voice was soft and patient as ever, rousing him slowly from his comfortable, heavy furs in bed. He cracked a bleary eye open, finding you firmly fixated on your reflection in the looking glass.

“...Morning…?” He rubbed at his face, trying to pull himself up from the claws of an extremely comfortable bed protecting him from the harsh winter just outside the frame. However, nothing was more pressing than the slight concern in your voice.

“Have you seen my powders? I’m afraid I ran out of mine, and I still need to cover these up…”

“Cover up?” He echoed, head tilted. You turned to look at him, and he very quickly realized what the problem was. “Gods, Byleth!”

“What are you cursing at me for? You’re the one who did this.” You gestured to the dark marks peppering your skin, down your collarbone and chest. You were already remedying the lower marks with a change of wardrobe, but the ones that were higher up…he was seeing where the problem was.

“N-no, I wasn’t…I mean, I didn’t intend to curse at you, it’s just…there are so many.” He found the motivation to get out of bed. The king was quick to your side, calloused fingers running along your neck to properly inspect what he’d done to his poor wife. “Oh, dear. Forgive me for all this…I’m afraid I lost control of myself.”

“It’s really all right. So long as it’s you…” You trailed off, looking back to your reflection. Dimitri’s blush was visible in the glass, drawing a smile to your lips. “I can cover up the rest of these, but I’ll need more powder. I thought I had some stored here, but now I’m worried they’re back at the monastery.”

“You mustn’t fret about that-” He hastily assured you before heading to the doors, “I’ll have the attendants find some for you, immediately! As many as they can carry, a-and only the best in Faerghus--”

“That’s not necessary, Dima. I realy just need a little bit more. One small jar will do.”

“Nonsense. I can’t allow this to happen again. Furthermore, I must atone for this terrible thing I’ve done to you! Sothis, there are so many of them… I should’ve been more careful. I knew full well what your schedule would be today, and yet-”

“We haven’t seen each other in over a month.” You stopped him before he flew out the door in a flustered panic, taking his hand and gently pulling him back to you. Your poor husband was absolutely beside himself, shoulders drooping wiith guilt. “It’s really not that big a deal. I don’t blame you for it at all.”

“But still, I…should have at least some restraint, shouldn’t I?” He mumbled, looking like a proper kicked puppy.

You smiled at him, tucking his wild hair behind his ear. “If you weren’t restraining yourself, we’d have to replace the bed frame, again.”

“T-t-that’s not…that’s….I-I don’t….”

“Oh, dear. I’ve broken the king again.” You laughed, pinching his cheek playfully. “It’s fine, darling. I promise. We just need to find a little jar of powder, and we’ll just be more careful in the future when it comes to, ah, placement. All right?”

Dimitri could really only nod. He trudged out the door to do as you asked, though he did return with about five or six jars more than you asked. Regardless, at least you would be prepared for the next several times it would inevitably happen.

He did remain rather shy and just a hint sulky throughout the rest of the day. You did your best to reassure him, even after a very handsome bouquet from the greenhouse, prepared and delivered by Dedue, arrived with an apologetic note from your husband.

It was quite sweet, if not overdramatic. But such was the nature of marrying someone head over heels for you, you supposed.

As if you didn’t feel the exact same way (though perhaps with a little less marks on him…for now).

heyyy it’s me again!! so u obv don’t have to respond to this if u don’t want to cuz i don’t wanna clog ur blog but since u asked about it: i guess my favorite thing about the vb au would just be the way you’ve redone the relationships between each character!! like honestly with the team itself i’m so curious what would be going thru their heads during a game and how they would have to rely on each other, and i love that they all have to kinda earn each other’s trust (since aside from sugar and brittany everyone is meeting for the first time if i remember correctly? i could be completely wrong ahh) and bond as a group. i also adore the furtana friendship 😭 it warms my heart. santana and finn having known each other since childhood just like, makes a lot of sense for them and i don’t think i’ve seen that done before, so its really cool!! my other favorite thing has gotta just be how u draw everyone. like, i know that’s not an au exclusive thing but ur art style is so cool!! i love the way u color eyes, they always pop and it’s a really cool detail. u also are really good with like, dynamic poses? idk if i’m making sense cuz i don’t really know anything about art, but when u draw movement it always looks natural and like there’s weight behind it? anyway i love everything about the vb au and i think u are an incredibly creative person for being able to come up with it all. also congrats on the redbubble!! sorry if this is long, again pls don’t feel like u have to respond to this i just didn’t wanna leave u hanging. sorry this is a mess, have a good night!!

adlkhf anon listen,,, i may be trying to not clog my blog too much but i can never resist rambling about vb au,,,,,, especially with such an enthusiastic ask! ill just slap some thoughts under the keep reading for anyone who's interested but just know that u gave me a lovely burst of motivation to actually work on the fic!!! admittedly my school semester has just started so who knows how writing will go but ill be working on the outline later :)))

anyway the character dynamics!!!! they're so fun to think about and i love them all! ur right about britt n sugar being the only ones who knew each other properly before joining the team so their dynamic is already set and wildly chaotic, but quinn and tina both know of e/o and of the britt/sugar duo bc they've seen e/o in tournaments :) so a lot of the main relationships on the team are developing at different speeds and from different starting points! which does make it kinda hard for me, a clown, trying to balance all of them lmao but it's still really fun and i'm so pumped to draw all of them together

as for furtana! my beloved! i'm assuming the reason there are so few close finntana dynamics in fics is bc of the whole outing debacle... which is very valid.... but that's why aus are so fun right? finn and santana are 2 of my faves so exploring a world in which they grew up together just kinda came naturally to me. especially when u look at their s4 interactions bc they've clearly bonded and care about e/o, even if we don't get to see the extent of it :) and then adding kurt to the mix,,, they're all dumbasses in their own ways so the resulting dynamics are really entertaining! i love imagining the sheer chaos that comes from them juggling a max of 2 brain cells between them,,, but there's also so much love there and that's easily my fav part!!! i could gush about them for so long adjshfjksdg

to sum things up im so incredibly grateful for ur enthusiasm about this au! im ridiculously passionate about it so knowing that other people like it too makes me all giddy sdkfhs and just know that u are very welcome to drop in my inbox and talk about it some more :)
