it's very hard to talk about the job to people who aren't in the industry, which can be incredibly isolating and lonely
onlyfans sucks. so much. it's not the gold standard, it's one of the worst sites. fine if you have a big following there already but not really worth joining
at any given moment, your most popular site can be shut down and you'll lose everything you have on there. AVNStars gave us about a month to prepare to leave.
when sites try out censorship, they try it out on us first and then they roll it out for queer people and then for everyone else. whenever a site announces that its banning sex/porn/sex workers, just know they're coming for everyone else next. see: tumblr. it started with porn, and now trans people are being kicked off the site.
not every client is a creepy pervert jerking off to "weird" porn. you'll meet some of the sweetest people and become close to them despite the customer/provider relationship
its very easy to be online 24/7 because the longer you're available, the more money you can make. turning off your work brain is one of the hardest aspects
findom is a lot more than just demanding money and calling someone a loser. it's a fetish that goes best hand in hand with other fetishes.
hey sex workers following me, especially acespec ones and especially ones who do mostly or exclusively online work, what are some aspects of the job people outside the industry probably haven't thought of? im doing a writing thing fjsbshsjsbsh
#sw#thats just off the top of my head lmao but lmk if you need something specific#i still cry about avnstars whenever i think about it#it was so good too sigh#they werent forced to shut down they just decided it wasnt worth the trouble anymore
