pls ramble about anything you wanna for the prandy kids au i love it there
YAY thank you for willfully walking into my trap bc I'm just like *vibrates* about them and I haven't even delved into the other kids yet lmao. Which is what I meant to do in this post, but only really ended up talking about the Prandy girls with a little teaser about the Pleo girls at the bottom, oops.
Perri, despite being the oldest and heading up the next gen as a whole, does not initially come off as necessarily that much of a threat. Because the thing is that she's very peppy and fun and friendly and doesn't necessarily feel the need to go off hunting demons like others might, but like. She received the most thorough training as a kid and is the first daughter of the entire generation, so it always seems to surprise demons when she starts wrecking people's shit. Because some characters seem to stay the same person when their dangerousness is revealed, but Perri shifts from this outgoing and kind person to someone nearly unrecognizable into someone fully 110% intent on eradicating the threat to the point that it can be a little scary for someone to see her transform like this.
On a lighter note, Perri adores literally anything to do with art, like she will be the first person to drag someone to an exhibit or gallery or something. While Presley and Pamela aren't as invested in art the same way as Perri, the three can spend hours at a single painting, which makes it nearly insufferable for anyone else to go with them. Perri just enjoys the art and considering it from nearly every angle possible, while Presley will just observe all of the details and share them with her sisters, and Pamela is interested in the emotion of it all, like how it's invoked and the echoes she gets from its past.
I mentioned that she was working in fashion, but she's probably currently like an assistant right now. It's a bit hectic for her, but she loves the rush and the business of it all. She just loves being surrounded by art and creativity in whatever way she can be. If she had a transformation, I feel like Perri would end up as a Muse. She was definitely voted best dressed in high school and her outfits are always on point with just this super cohesive aesthetic.
Despite not being nearly as social as her sisters, Presley is really good at knowing what's going on with people because of her observation tendencies and being able to literally stop to see the smallest expressions on people's faces. That's actually why she's pretty close with Coop, who can relate to the way she's able to use her powers. While Presley isn't a very lovey type of person, she actually has helped Coop with charges before. (It was uncle and niece bonding! Coop likes getting to spend time with his nieces and Presley liked getting to see what other magical beings' jobs entail, along with spending time with her uncle.)
I mentioned in a follow-up post, but Presley is actually closest with her dad and uncles. She's just very practical but also likes being able to get involved the ways that they kind of let her. Leo taught her some stuff about fixing up cars while she kind of became this cool figure for some of Henry's younger charges to be a bit of a role model to them somehow. When Piper did accounting for the restaurant, however, Presley liked seeing how that worked (and actually minored in accounting in university), and she loved learning self-defense from Phoebe.
For awhile, Presley considered becoming a journalist since Prue ended up working as a photojournalist and Phoebe as a columnist at the Bay Mirror but eventually decided against it. Elise still serves as a form of mentor to her though. It's kind of funny because Presley really isn't that social but has some interesting connections that she's able to leverage.
Pamela is an interesting character in that it's really hard to dig out her real personality. She's so driven and intelligent, but it's almost entirely obscured by how lost she is in her own head. I've kind of implied it, but here's some explicit confirmation that in a story about the Prandy girls, a big plot would be the way that Pamela's kind of... letting her powers consume her? She just doesn't often feel connected to her physical body and is halfway experiencing the world through others' emotions, thoughts, dreams, etc. It's not great, and it's something that poses a serious threat to actually - not killing her necessarily but more like severing her connection with reality. She can see the past, present, and future but isn't really experiencing the present the way that she should.
Eventually, Pamela does want to go back to school because she has this deep love of learning but no idea what direction to point it in besides magic. Honestly, I like the idea of her doing something with computers or web design maybe, just a very sharp contrast to the artsy psychic vibe she had but we'll see where she eventually ends up. Currently though, she's working in a witch shop owned by an older woman who takes on this mentorish role to her. Is she good or evil? Don't know yet, we'll see.
Fuck, this is so long now, but I've really been dying to talk about Prose and Petra. Okay, I'll keep this super short as kind of a teaser about those two. (Update: "super short," she said, this is now two paragraphs but whatever.) So, like I said in the outline post of the AU, Piper ended up trapped in this plane between life or death when she was pregnant with Prose. The thing about that though is that the pregnancy is "a life growing where one is not meant to exist," as I said in the outline. Piper should've lost the pregnancy, if it wasn't for this mysterious woman named Proserpina who gave Piper herbs or a tonic or something made from her garden with her magic to keep the baby. As a result, Piper kept the pregnancy but being on that plane affected how Prose and her magic developed in the womb. An idea that I've played with around with Chris before but am able to explore a lot more with Prose is that fact that she's death-touched witch, which has... implications.
As for Petra, she ends up with the kind of opposite effect. That tonic that Piper took was to create and sustain life when one was not meant to exist, so, years later, it actually influences her second pregnancy as well with Petra's magic. There is a reason that I initially wanted to name her Persephone, and there is a reason that Prose's first name is Proserpina, lemme put it like that.
