Hi Ely! I'm celebrating nice ask day by dropping into people's inboxes with random asks! Because I'm very curious, how'd you get into TMFU originally?
Hiiii! Awww I'm sorry I missed it, that sounds like fun!
Soooo I got into TMFU (back in September 2020) because I was looking for a movie to watch, I was in one of those "I DEFINITELY want to watch something but also I don't want to commit to anything but also nothing sounds appealing because it's too much effort to watch something new but I want to WATCH SOMETHING" moods, which are not all that rare for me unfortunately looool
BUT a nice and fun override for this is if I know one or more of the actors/actresses in the movie, specifically if they played a character I liked in the past. It's like the familiar face tricks my brain into thinking that getting invested in the movie is not going to be as much effort, since I already "know" one of the characters there loool
So, when Netflix recommended TMFU to me, I saw that Henry Cavill was in it, and since I had recently watched The Witcher that was a good start. Then I saw that it was an action movie, which is also a good thing because when I am in that kind of mood sometimes it's much easier to watch things explode, and I could tell from the trailer that I would enjoy the dynamic between Illya and Napoleon.
I would like to emphasize that I didn't want to watch anything that would be too like. emotionally consuming, I figured I would just watch a nice action movie, get into the enemy spies dynamic, reblog sets for a few days and then go on with my life.
AND HERE I STILL AM THREE YEARS LATER
