Symptoms of depression
Whassup kiddos. I’m back this time with the symptoms of depression. If you realize that you do actually have some of those symptoms, please talk to someone (a friend, a parent, or even a doctor), but first make sure they will take you seriously. Now continuing, depression may not be one thing, but there are some symptoms that can be found in all of them:
•             Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness
•             Feeling useless, inadequate, bad
•             Self-hatred, constant questioning of thoughts and actions, an overwhelming need for reassurance
•             Being vulnerable and ‘over-sensitive’
•             Feeling guilty
•             A loss of energy and motivation that makes even the simplest tasks or decisions difficult
•             Self-harm
•             Change in appetite (significant weight loss or gain)
•             Changes in sleeping patterns (insomnia or excessive sleeping)
•             Agitation and restlessness or slowed body movements
•             Loss of sex drive
•             Problems in concentrating, thinking, remembering, or making decisions
•             Physical aches and pains, sometimes with the fear that you are seriously ill
•             Memory loss
•             Preoccupation with death and dying
•             Rebellious behavior
•             Sudden drop in marks at school
•             Withdrawal from friends
•             Use of alcohol or drugs and promiscuous sexual activity
•             Overreacting in simple, everyday situations
•             Irritable mood or feelings of sadness and grief nearly every day
•             Melancholy
•             Loss of interest or pleasure in things that would normally find enjoyable
*In more serious forms of depression, these feelings may also include*
•             Suicidal ideas
•             You can’t eat or drink
•             You may hallucinate and/or see delusions

I have also found the symptoms of SAD and manic depression’s which are:
SAD:
1. Problems sleeping (too much sleeping without any benefits)
2. Overeating
3. Depression (despair, misery, normal tasks become frustratingly difficult, hopelessness)
4. Lethargy (too tired to cope, everything becomes an effort)
5. Family problems (avoiding your family and friends, irritability, feeling emotionally numb)
6. Physical symptoms (often joint pain and stomach problems and you might get sick more easily)
7. Behavioral problems
Also, less light --> more depression so it usually appears during winter

P.S. I wanna add that manic depression has some specific symptoms so I decided to add them here. You can experience mood swings from periods of severe depression to periods of elation (aka mania).
Symptoms:
1.            Mania
If you are experiencing a manic phase you may feel marvelous, excitable and euphoric. In some cases people may lose insight or experience delusions. Sometimes people may deny the fact that they are ill and that there is anything wrong with them or their behavior.
1.            Depression
If you are experiencing a depressive phase, you may feel unhappy and that everything you do is a struggle and not worth it. You may feel hopeless about the future, extremely pessimistic, apathetic and you may don’t wanna take part in things that you used to like. At its worst, you may start feeling helpless and worthless which may lead you to give up the will to live, or begin to consider suicide.
