thinking about cricket bringing beetle to meet cicada for the first time. ty gives cricket that look because they both know beetle isn't allowed in the media wing. as fond of her as ty is now, he's concerned about dog germs getting everywhere. he doesn't say anything, just exhales sharply as beetle trots happily into one of the exam rooms after cricket.

and cricket has the gall to flash a smile in ty's direction as he taps the end of the exam table, with a heartbeat passing before beetle obediently, deftly, jumps up and starts sniffing at cicada, still recovering from the earlier experiments that day, tail whipping against cricket's side as she wags it, excited to meet someone new who might pet her

"she's a therapy dog," cricket says to nobody in particular, snagging beetle's collar to keep her from immediately clambering into cicada's lap. ty rolls his eyes, but cricket notices a few minutes later that even he is smiling at cicada and beetle's antics together. once introductions are made, they show cicada some of the tricks they've taught beetle, but she keeps getting distracted and would rather get more attention from cicada than listen to cricket lol
