I’m stuck with my flower replacement.
So I found a cool replacement for opuntia cactus “flower”:

It’s a sims 4 mesh with a new texture. Full tile one is big (still smaller than the original Sims 4 mesh) and half tile one is small and a bit rotated. That’s nice, I’m happy with how it looks.
Irises look not bad too, I replaced the grass texture with real iris leaves and changed the blue recolor into a red one:

Full tile consists of two “parts” (upper row) and half tile only of one (lower row).
Pansies and poppies got new teeny-tiny leaves:

Now onto the thing that was bugging me for almost a week now - marigolds.
I wasn’t happy with how my new mesh turned out. It was too square with flowers sticking out not the way they do in real life. So I remade the mesh, it looked better but had a lot of gaps:

I didn’t want to add anything to the mesh as it would make polycount higher (though I tried adding undersides to some leaves but it was a big no-no because the polys became ridiculously high).
I then tried my trick with Sims 4 meshes and found one that fits quite well for this plant. I snapped some textures on it and voilà:

But... I don’t like it! 😩 It feels too much like a bush and it’s supposed to have that flower spirit.
I’m lost, I don’t know what to do with these marigolds anymore... 😔
Maybe if a add a dummy round shape under that marigold mesh it’ll look nicer (like in oleander shrub)?..
PS I added that dummy shape and it doesn’t look good at all 😂

It looks even more like a bush now...
What should I do now guys? Should I keep that Sims 4 mesh and let it go? 🤔 Leave those marigolds with their original mesh just with no square “rug” grass? Or remake the mesh with that dummy shape and try to make leaves fit nicer?
