While editing and writing I realised how much I forgot to show more of Wukong and Sanzang's relationship. I messed up. Their father/son relationship is a strong drive for them. And personally I like such a relationship because you can't exactly point who is the father and who's the son until the end
#this is only my own personal take on these two#which os based on the fact that a shifu/tudi relationship is essentially that of a parent and a child#while Sanzang is the father in the JTTW#i shifted the father role over to Wukong due to the age factor and because of his experience as a grandfather of monkey on mt huaguo#but yeah he is still being schooled by his “child” just like any other parent irl once the child matures and the roles suddenly shift#axl ul rants
