the vampire lestat starts out all silly funny with "my name is lestat darkness dementia de lioncourt and today i was wearing a gorgeous leather jacket and riding my harley davidson motorcycle (i am what america calls a rock superstar)" etc etc.

but then when he starts telling you about his family and nicki and everything............... well. suddenly the fact that he rose from his sleep because he heard rock music (which is the music of vampires in case you didn't know. on account of its throbbing guitars and sexy electric pianos being so eloquent of dread and the supernatural) seems just a little bit less silly funny .
